SI, for future reference, where have you taken Martinez? Would she be travelling with the column, or be put in some POW camp's hospital behind the lines? I'm not going to RP some great escape with tons of explosions and kickassery or anything, I just always like RPing POWs.

Most likely, she'd be kept at a small POW camp about halfway between Southwood and the shore (just south of the inland lake on the map). If you're going to RP her, remember that (being obsessed with honor) Soodeans won't beat or torture a prisoner, and will instead treat them kindly in the hopes that they'll voluntarily defect.

Obviously, Martinez doesn't seem like the type to give in, but it might work on some of the Themiclesian soldiers.

I'm not justifying using my laser satellites on the basis that "they aren't WMDs becuz they arent nukes dey b space lasers! Space lasers arent WMDs!"

If you think Dragomere is bad, you should see Decius... He has 1/3 of his population in active military service, godmods and metagames like mad, and has half a dozen puppets that either back him up or declare war on him to attract attention. Then there's his military vehicles... Helicopters that cruise at Mach 4, top-secret bulletproof robot assassins, and a freeze drill that cools targets to "1000 degrees below absolute zero". Plus, with 4,000 posts in four months, he's not your average one-off noob.

So yeah, if it ever seems like I'm paranoid about other people's tech being overpowered, it's because I still associate "PMT" with invisible KaizerShriek operatives and Mach 7 fighter jets.

I'd say Mach 7 fighter jets would be completely plausible in say, 200-300 years. However, Decius godmods liek alot. Frenco had a sort of Anti-WA vs WA supporters thread once. Decius was ridiculous, and after his godmodding failed, he tried to pull off some "The KaizerShriek are independent" BS, then vanished.

If a Lupus air superiority fighter pilot is going mach seven he either has a death wish or is probably going somewhere in a very big hurry and so isn't in combat. He's most likely using the speed to rapidly climb altitude.

Edit: Never mind. I toned down the speed to a more reasonable mach five.

In my PMT canon, we have fighters that can travel at Mach 25, but of course, fighting is completely impossible at that speed. For dogfights or other attacks, they move at Mach 5. The strain of travelling so fast also requires the pilots to train for years before they get to fly one and they receive bodily implants to an almost ridiculous level, enabling their bodies to withstand the G powers of turning even slightly at Mach 25.

and no, I'm definitely not going to deploy anything like these in the RP, they'd be too OP with bordering-FT level missiles and so.

Well, a cruising speed of Mach 5-7 is plausible, especially if you're in the upper atmosphere. Mach 25 is really pushing it, but it could be done in outer space where air resistance is negligible. In modern dogfights (and ground-attack missions), both sides will usually slow to under Mach 1 in order to gain more maneuverability and aiming time, especially if it's a turn fight. Even with pressure suits and endurance training, the human body has a fairly low tolerance for sustained vertical forces (I believe +10Gs is the threshold for loss of consciousness, and -4Gs is lethal, though it varies depending on the source), so at over Mach 3 a manned fighter can't do very much turning or maneuvering.

Anyway, the real problem wasn't that Decius had Mach 7 fighter jets, but that he had 892,083 of them.
