NS Battle Simulator - Showcase your tactical prowess here!

OOC: The OOC (Note: You can make small OOC posts normally in your IC posts, but please enclose them in spoiler tags. Any lengthy argument should go to the OOC)

This is the I.C thread of The Battle of the Ages, a MT RP which focuses on commanding your forces in combat rather than the usual RP's which feature lengthy and unreasonable invasion forces and the excessive use of nuclear weapons and such. I had an idea of setting up such an RP much earlier, so as to provide a good experience to all those who are tired of some people steamrolling through them in RP's and doing other undesirable things, and who're willing to seriously command their forces in the battles to come.

In this RP, a real-world location would be chosen as the premise of the next battle, and a vote would be conducted sometime later after a desirable number of members has been reached.

This RP is concerned only with the various aspects of battlefield command and taking the role of a field commander tasked with carrying out his orders or his nation's policy in the region. And as such, please don't make posts as your head of state.

This RP also prohibits sending reinforcements midway. While this is a common real-life scenario, I cannot allow this as such a feature would be exploited by many, even if to a small extent. This is done so that everyone can experience this RP to it's fullest.

You are encouraged to list the number of men you are deploying in great detail, and list the type of equipment they have and what tanks they have as well. No changes can be made mid-way, so as to prevent people from manipulating this to their advantage by evading any attacks with 'high-tech' equipment. No nuclear attacks, chemical, biological or highly-destructive weaponry. So, you can't drop a 1kt nuke, neither can you drop a 5 ton fuel-air bomb. Deployment of highly-destructive conventional weaponry may be allowed but on a very small scale.

Players could make alliances with other players before a battle, and based on the resulting alliances (Whose numbers are limited, no 8-man alliance against two players unless these are special circumstances etc.) a set of possible scenarios would be discussed and the most appropriate one would be picked.

Please take your time in proposing locations. If everyone of you has their own opinions of what place to fight in, then I will take the liberty of choosing the battle zone myself. All locations are accepted. Once we reach 10 members, I will use an internet randomizing tool to pick a location proposed by a member for an upcoming battle.

NOT AN APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP, REFER TO OOC
Proposed location for upcoming battle:
Weather:
Visibility:
Humidity: (Some weapons don't work in climatic extremes)[/b]
Temperature (Ranges only, as in from 20-40 degrees celsius, and such):
Degradation of surroundings due to combat (Buildings destroyed in urban environments, be careful of what you choose as this can be helpful for your men):
Availability of military complex/base/installation (Constructed, not field bases and such): (Simple Yes or No should do)

The following is the format for your battle plan after a location is decided.

Keep in mind that the use of combined arms is encouraged here. Spamming of one type of unit in order to counter other people's Battleplan is strictly prohibited.

BATTLE PLAN FORMAT
Forces Committed: (A huge thank you to Interstellar Space Corps for this time-saving idea)
Secondary Equipment (Accessories, for rifles, small, medium arms and other weapons):
Protective Equipment and Quantity (Gas masks, radiation suits, etc., limit present):
Ammunition, for each platform type, quantity:
Food, Fuel and other logistics, in quantity: (Everyone's encouraged to use the same numbers, but there's a limit so you can't bring a Supertanker along)
Spare parts for faulty equipment, quantity: (I'll be a bit complacent, no need to use exact weapon types and spares, just type how many you'd be bringing along, also the ammunition part needn't be detailed, just state how many rounds for M-16's etc.
POLICY OF NATION: (This is very important so as to avoid any misunderstandings. Please be as detailed as possible)

· DECAPOLIS - AUGUST 8, 2013 ·

The whole city was in commotion as the 600 Pratseans that went to help the ally, Delusija, departed, leaving behind friends and family. It was a sad day, but also a merry one, everyone hoped to see their loved ones come back. Was it the last time they would hold hands? The last hug? The last time they would meet?

OVERLORD NETWORK 8.8.2013
~All systems are a go. Cleared for departure. Central Command has been called, the War Council assembled.
~Roger. Informing the men.
~Don't disappoint, Field Marshal. Poor performance in this mission is not an option. Victory is not necessary, but you must fight as best as you are able.
~Acknowledged.
~Good day.

· CENTRAL COMMAND - 8.8.2013 1420 HRS ·

The Marshal of the Army was angry. Angry because Central Command had taken 600 soldiers out of his army without notifying him of this sudden change, and angry because the 600 were probably going to return dead.
"Sir, you cannot enter-"
The Marshal shoved the man away with a firm hand and opened the heavy doors with both his arms. Inside, Central Command had assembled around a round table.

"Damn it!" he said, hitting the table with his fist. "You're sending my men to certain death, and you don't even tell me about it until it is being done? Rash! Incompetent!"
The members of Central Command exchanged glances.
"The War Council would never have allowed this! Incredible!"
His face was now red, his black trench-coat with many medals crooked. The members of Central Command waited.
"The Prime Minister- let go, you cowards!" a group of men wearing dark suits had silently approached and were now taking him from behind out of the room. But even if he was old, the Marshal of the Army was still a strong man, and he ardently fought against his captors.
"Six-hunner of your kin, sent to the grave! You cowardly, traitorous-" the heavy bronze doors closed, shutting out the last few words.

"Does he know?" said a man to another.
"Apparently" replied the Chief of the Central Command. "...he doesn't. So much for so little."

Lieutenant-General David Winston was displeased. He been ordered to use 5000 men to take the Kramsten Junction-apparently the Delusija were saber-rattling at the Primordial Luxa, and threatening to hit their base from behind if they took the Junction, and so the order had come down to help Luxa out, make sure their ally didn't go down.

The Mi-17s were shuttling troops to and fro, but the tech boys had reported bunches of AA guns nearby and sooner or later, one of them would go down. Already, he had 1000 troops here with him in the North-East road from Kramsten Junction, but soon the helicopters would be tasked with getting the Badgers and Mongooses in. He couldn't afford to lose any tanks, so he had to move fast and take out the AA guns now. The problem was, preliminary intelligence had the AA guns located between a patch of forest and a wide river. This meant that he had to trek the troops through guerilla-infested forest and they had only one direction from which to attack the anti-aircrafts with.

He hesitated, then drew an arrow on the map of the junction. Five sniper teams would go to take out any guards, with 5 fireteams to bring down the guns themselves. A platoon of explosives specialists in case there was any heavy metal guarding the guns, plus Major Grabowski to lead the operation. It would theoretically be simple; even a regular grunt could off the guns. Put bullet holes through the control panel, cut the wires, or manually set off the fail-safe.

David sighed, and gave the order through his radio. Operation BRIGHTLIGHTS, as he had named it, was commencing even now. Men were gathering up into formations, briefings were given, Kevlar vests were strapped on. The soldiers would take the anti-aircraft guns.

General Pushtojevskij looked out of his Mi-24D's window and watched the base closing in. He had been called by Anton Shrapnelin himself, Minister of Defence and Foreign Affairs. Pushtojevskij did a rather good job in Bratislav, but the war eventually was lost by the loyalist. Shrapnelin had been quite clear: his career relied on the outcome of this mission. He had to secure the Kramsten Junction, and make it safe to cross in one week. That mission was an absolute career ender.

Some troops were already on the field, but the main bulk of the Delusijan forces had yet to come. Guerrilla was going on in the forest right in the middle of the disputed zone. Now it was time to turn the tables.

His strategy would consist on sheer numbers; he knew that cold war equipment could still be deadly in combat, but had his enemies used high-tech weaponry, numbers and guerrilla tactics could be his only hopes. Tanks were coming from the mainland, but they had to drive around the mountains, which had protected Delusija time and time again, while in that circumstances could be a mortal trap in case of retreat.

First things first, he would have placed the AA tanks, since his men with PKM machine guns could do only that much. Secondly, tanks would have been pushed forward to the junction, where the stakes were incredibly high.

These and many other things concerned General Ilja Pushtojevskij as he jumped off the helicopter and asked for a map and a cup of tea.

-----Luxan Territory-----

Commander Novus and his war council waited in the central command center of COB 4. Surrounding them was over a dozen Mancers and logistics officers that were establishing a near real time sit-rep of the Kramsten Junction for the eventual assault that was about to take place. Only five minutes ago a taskforce had departed from FOB 6 enroute to the junction a drive that would take 45 minutes while in Air Base 3 a VTOL taskforce was preparing for takeoff, however he had decided to keep them in reserve and it was doubt full that they would launch until later in the battle. Farther away from all of this the Fearmonger was moving closer toward the Northeastern shore, the Capricorn Class frigate had been requested to provide support for the assault as both a weapons battery and docking bay and it had already launched a pair of UAVs to junction.

Novus turned towards one of the Mancer watching him and nodded, giving the soldier the order to send a message to the Luxan Allies.
+Allies+
+ETA of Luxan ground troops: 45min.+
+ETA of Luxan Air troops: N/a.+
+Note 1: Capricorn Class Naval Frigate Designation Fearmonger will be commencing long range bombardment of possible guerilla locations in exactly 40min. Stay Clear of forest until 5 minutes after attack.+
+Note 2: Luxan High Command requests your assistance in removal of Anti-Aircraft weapons as a primary goal.+

-----Kramsten Junction-----

Two UAVs neared the junction, each of them flying near their service ceiling at 6,620m almost 2 kilometers out of man portable SAM range. The first UAV was a Musca Surveillance Variant and began making a 10km orbit of the junction scanning the various surrounding for enemy personal and locations of importance for future attacks coordination. The other one was a Corvus Attack UAV it began actively searching for any form of AA weaponry or Anti-tank weapons and enplanements if any were found it had orders to lock on but to hold fire until further orders were given.

The Tabretian force soon arrived to the east, as a part of the allied force comprising of Primordial Luxa and Helltank's men. A field base was hastily set-up far away from the forest. Watchtowers were set up, and trenches were dug in front of the base, with AA soldiers and snipers taking up positions on the watchtowers. Tank traps were also set up on the entrance, leaving the flanks as the only possible route outside the base. Several BMP-3's and one T-90M tank patrolled the surrounding area routinely, completing a full round every 5 minutes.

General Vasily Makarovich was in one of the numerous tents set up in the field base, and looked on a map at the table before him. Several of his officers, the most important one being Colonel Ivarov, a tough man whose wits match his eagerness to fight, gathered around the table.

Image

"Alright, here's the situation. Our reconnaissance satellites have reported the presence of unidentified armed individuals within the forest. As you all know, Lieutenant General Asimov's chopper was shot down here and so we believe these men might belong to the Delusijan irregulars. Our aviation assets tried gathering more intelligence up close, but they were shot down by heavy anti-air gun emplacements around the area. We can't risk sending in an armored platoon into the forest because of IEDs, and any airstrike on a possible AA gun location would mean suicide for our pilots. We need to advance slowly on the ground, identify the AA guns, and then send in our special forces to destroy them. That will be our primary objective.

Our secondary objective here, is to secure each area we advance through. The exclamation marks mean there have been movements in that area, so be careful before plunging your men through into these places. For every 500 meters we advance, a sandbag wall and several heavy MG emplacements will be set up, along with primitive anti-tank weaponry, that is assuming the enemy will risk sending their armor. Oh, I almost forgot. We have also sighted Delusijan divisions moving into the area, so expect heavy resistance. We have yet to identify the nature of their arsenal though, and as such we can only make speculations for now. Our allies down to the south have already arrived, Helltankian forces, and have setup a perimeter around an area which might be their base later on. I am working now on setting up communication channels with Helltankian command so that we might co-ordinate our operations.

Major Malinowski, brief your men at 1700 hours and have them ready by midnight. They will be tasked to infiltrating the eastern part of the forest and reporting any hostile sightings, as far as we know Helltankian forces are still not operating so any men found in that area are hostile. If we get lucky and an AA gun is located, destroy it and have your men retreat. You will have some artillery support from our tanks, but don't count on them in case things get hot. The bulk of our forces have yet to arrive and if we push it too far we might lose the entire base in case the guerrillas counter-attack.

Alright gentlemen, you have been briefed. Please inform your officers of the situation. While Major Malinowski's platoon advances into hostile territory, I want the rest of the men to set up as much barbed wire as possible and put some sandbags too on the western side of the base. Our helicopters will be monitoring the ground at a low-altitude so you won't be caught by surprise in case something happens."

The General then went back to his seat and resumed planning his next step. Today's operation would be of crucial importance.

Special forces infantry are about to be sent in to take out any AA emplacements on the eastern side. Light artillery is on standby to strike at any targets spotted by your assets. Missiles might have a hard time penetrating the dense forest cover, so we hope you wait until our boys on the ground take out the AA gun positions. Requesting that your assets share their intel with us so that the operation would be faster.

OVERLORD NETWORK - 8.8.2013
~General Pushtojevskij, this is Overlord. Be advised, friendlies landing approximately 4 clicks from the forest. Hold your fire, I repeat, hold your fire.

Field Marshal Hans Amadeus Mundberg jumped out of his helicopter wearing a heavy trench-coat and a cap. Several of his bodyguards jumped around him. The helicopters had flown from the Southwest at low levels, Central Command had overridden the original plan and had sent them from the Southwest.

"Go, go, go!" was the general cry as the multitude of Helicopters flew away after deploying the iron cavalry. Most of the 600 had rapidly jumped into the vehicles and were off, whilst others boarded nearby vehicles. They had no less than 3.5km of open flatland before they arrived under the cover of the forest, and until then, were exposed to aerial fire.

About four minutes later, the force was under the cover of the great forest. Mundberg raised his hand out of his LTV and the convoy stopped.
"Gather around, lads!" he cried as he slammed the door shut.

--

Ten minutes later, there was great commotion among the men. Everyone was busy at some task, whether it was unloading the supplies or pitching the tents. Mundberg was pressing his two fists at a makeshift table with a map of the battlefront.
"The last recorded locations of the enemy are here..." said Colonel Arkyun, pointing to a location in the map, "...here, and here."
"Not good."
"Aye, Luxan forces."
"Still not good."
"Yes, but it gets better. We have intelligence that a large enemy force has come from the southeast."
"How is that good? Any registered movement?"
"No, Marshal. It does not seem so."
"We're blind, boy. I don't like being blind. Especially with so limited numbers."
"The UAV will be up in a minute, Overlord will-"
"Overlord will do nothing but give obsolete intelligence."
"...Central Command, sir-"
"Central Command sent us here to our deaths. We all know that. What kind of a fool sends 600 men into a battle in foreign soil with no aerial help whatsoever?"
"But Marshal...we will return to Pratse victorious."
The Marshal chuckled. "And dead."
"Sir.."
"We can only hope, Colonel. We can only hope."
Mundberg clapped his hand on the Colonel's back as he walked away, pretending to be observing the men prepare the camp, while in reality he was thinking.

The vehicles had been parked now, some small camouflaged blankets had been thrown over them, they were around the campsite. The trench-coated soldiers of the P.M.C. were expertly pulling the tents up, the night was probably going to be cold. However, the unlucky Privates had to rest in sleeping bags. It was going to be a long, cold night.

-----Kramsten Junction -----

It was now that smaller preliminary teams began to move in on the cross roads these were troops from nearby that had been in the area and were requisitioned to take part. These units consisted of a full squad of rangers and three warden teams. These teams had orders to meet up with the Luxan allies and offer them an easier line of communication and to allow the Luxans to gain more in depth reports of their allies’ actions.

The Ranger squad dispersed into five sniper teams, three of them moving towards a raised area of the surrounding field to provide long range observation while the other two teams split up to meet with the Tabret and Helltank forces, these soldier offered the allied commanders credentials and their services. A single Warden unit quickly joined each of the allied armies, they were ten man squad carry a trio of heavy man portable autocannon for long range support fire and offer similar services to the mustering forces. A single Warden unit doesn’t join either force and deploys next to the center east road to provide overwatch into the forest.

Kramsten Junction, Forest

It was Sergeant Segjeij Skoda who had fired the PKM machine gun that hit the enemy helicopter. When they had searched the wreckage for survivors, they found the poor remains of the crew and a high rank officer, probably a Marshal or General, according to their intelligence.
That had benn a hell of a lucky shot.

The Major recieved a coded message from the base.
<<Comerades,>> he said <<our allies have reached our position. We must hold our fire until our rendez-vous. If attacked, open fire only when you target has been confirmed as a foe.>>
<<How easy!>> thought everyone in the company. But orders are orders, and shall not be discussed. After all, Pratse was the only ally they had so far.
Sergeant Skoda volunteerd to join the Pratsean contingency and help them cohhordinate with Delusijan forces in the area. He was granted permission to do so, along with Private Liszt.
His AKM in one hand, a map in the other, he left the bushes where he had been hiding with the others and headed towards the area in which the Pratsean should have arrived.

Kramsten Junction, North Western Base

The tanks and lorries had been lined up and ready to depart. They would have traveled southeast on the highway, at night, and possibly secured the area around the forest.
<<No one must get out of the woods, do you anderstand?>> ordered General Pushtojevskij <<Our troops must hold the forest with their lives, until further equipment arrives from the mainland.>>
<<The forest could be difficult to hold.>> said a Colonel.
<<It will be as difficult ofr as as for them. In the forest, modern battle tactics can do up to a certain limit. We must keep that forest. We have those brave 500 waiting for us. We are moving at dawn, when the sun is on our back and right in the eyes of the enemy. We can deliver about 2,000 troops and their equipment via lorry, the rest will be marching during the night. I want the OTO Melara placed outside the forest, along the river, and the Vasileks inside. Then, when everyone is in place...>>
An attendant entered the room.
<<Comerade General, we have a message from Pratse.
The General read it.

<<Very good.>> he said <<We have some good news, at last. You are free to proceed, I'm sending a message to overlord. I want you to encode it and send before our forces start moving.>>

Aknowledged your presence. Ordering our forces to join yours. Prepare for reinforcements from NW. Hold on tight.

<<How about the forest blockade? Should we be applying it to them as well?>>
<<No, of course.>> answered the General <<we cannot forbid them to abandon the battlefield if they need to do so. But I really think they won't. 600 men? You have to have 4-dimensional balls to enter a battle like this. Oh, in the meantime, how long will it take for more reinforcements to arrive? I want raids from our Tupolev bombers to be made, MiG-21s sweeping the area with rockets and our fleet launching cruise missiles on demand. Then...>>
<<Comerade General>> interrupted the attendant <<it regrets me to inform you that no reinforcement will be sent until... well, until you have secured the area. Minister Shrapnelin does not want to take men and equipment away from the other battlefields, and from now on, all you have got now is what Delusija is allowing you to use.>>
General Pushtojevskij remained silent for a while.
<<Let it be, then.>> he said, eventually <<And if we fail, I'll run to the enemy firing my Tokarev, since going back to Delusija would be too much of a shame. You are free to leave, now.>>
<<Comerade General?>>
<<Please, leave. There will be no tea down there, and I wish to enjoy this alone.>>
The attendant left the room, as the General sat on his chair and sipped tea from his mug.

We have received the co-ordinates of several guerrilla encampments and positions, of which some may be those of the AA. We will be conducting Operation Forest Fire soon. Once Forest Fire is complete, your aerial assets will be clear over the eastern side of the river. We are readying an amphibious force of BMP-3's and sniper teams to cross the river and organize hit-and-run attacks once we have pinpointed the location of guerrilla bases.

We must be careful though, our scouts report that there have been several vehicles moving in the forest. We suspect the enemy may be fortifying their position.

The spec ops team sneaked into the forest at midnight.

"Bravo 5, this is Roman 3. Operation Forest Fire is a go."

"Roger Roman 3. Proceeding as planned. Bravo 5, over and out."

The team, comprised of some 10 men, 8 equipped with their AK's and 2 equipped with SVDSN night-capable snipers and RPG-7's continued into the forest. Intelligence had placed guerrilla installations somewhere to the north-west. They began hearing several men talking to each other, as they sneaked past them. It was clear, that they were now behind enemy lines.

Bravo team kept going on, not minding the sounds around them and focusing on their objective: eliminating the AA guns. They soon came across a guard post with some 10 guards in it. A firefight meant sure death, so they slowly crept around the post.

Kramsten Junction, Forest

<<Mish'a, are you ok?>>
<<Yes.. kind of.>>
<<What do you mean?>>
The Private had left the camp for a quick pee, some 50 meters away.
<<There seems to be traces.>>
<<What kind of traces?>>
<<Human. Somebody went through here. They were incredibly careful: only a handful of broken leaves and small branches. But we didn't come from this way, and those hints clearly trace a straight line.>>
<<The hell! How long ago could this have happened?>>
<<Last night. I'm afraid more than 6 hours ago.>>
<<We must alert the entire force. Quick, call the base!>>

Kramsten Junction, NW border of the forest

The tanks had been moved close to the junction. The crossorad was too far and deep inside the forest to be seen from that distance, but they knew it was there. They had left some of the armored units protecting the base, while the men were preparing the OTO Melara 105 mm to open fire.
Three snipers were birefing their colleagues about their mission: to enter the forest, search for the enemy and direct the artillery via radio.
<<The difficult part will be finding the enemy unnoticed.>> said Lieutenant Krastowskij <<The dangerous part will be calling the base via radio, thus revealing our position. After the howitzers hit the target, we must flee from our position and find a new one.>>
A ZSU-23-4 entered the forest, found a small open space between the trees and switched off its engine. The four 23 mm AA guns were raised to the sky, operated manually. Some of the ZSU-57-2 could provide for RADAR coverage, but the lack of an efficient data link would have forced the smaller units to aim and fire by sight.
A Sergeant sat in position in front of the AA autocannons and put on a night visor. A flashing signal informed him that the battery was faulty and had a small residual charge.

Kramsten Junction, Forest, SW

Sergeant Skoda and Private Liszt arrived near a camp and stopped.
<<These could be the Pratsean.>> said the Private <<Their position is consistent with our information.>>
<<Yes, it is.>> answered the sergeant <<But I can't see their flags. They are working really hard to prepare and secure their position. I'll blow my bird call, to see their reaction.>>
The whistle was blown, launching the Sparrowhawk call in the air.
<<Friends, we meet them. Foes, we retreat.>>

"Roman 3, come in. We have located 3 enemy encampments on the eastern side; co-ordinates: India 3 Echo 1, Hotel 2 Juliet 6 and Oscar 3 Foxtrot 5. We are not positive that these are the positions of the AA, but several heavy weapon emplacements have been spotted. Please advise, over."

"Bravo 5, withdraw to Oscar 3 Foxtrot 5 and eliminate the base there when ordered. Our tanks will provide artillery fire at the other co-ordinates. Roman out."

"Roger Roman 3. Bravo 5 continuing as planned. Bravo out."

The spec ops team went for the co-ordinates, trying to avoid attention as much as they can. But they began hearing unusual sounds nearby, like those of vehicles moving. They knew these were not friendlies.

In several more hours, they reached the designated base, it was a small camp. They were searching for the last time for an AA gun over there so that they might concentrate their attacks. They hid in several bushes around, trying to conceal themselves from enemy sight.

Our teams have spotted several enemy camps at the enclosed co-ordinates. We are not certain which one harbor the AA guns, but we will keep looking.

"They have come!" cried a man aloud. His nearby friend quickly covered his mouth.
"Delusija!"
"Friends! At last!"
The camp was quickly awoken as the birdcall was heard, and the men excitedly put their weapons in showing order. Field Marshal Hans A. Mundberg left his tent and sent a couple of men to greet the Delusijan force. The vehicles were hidden under the heavy camouflage. The soldiers, wore their proud trench coats. Tall trees soared overhead. On the distance, planes could be heard.

"Sergeant!" cried the detachment of men as they approached the position from where they heard the call. "We're friendlies! Long live Pratse!"

Kramsten Junction, Forest, SW

<<Good to see you, Comerades!>> greeted Sergeant Skoda, smiling.
As he and Private Liszt watched the Pratsean set up their forces, Skoda exchanged handshakes and cigarettes, drew a map from his pocket and headed to the Pratsean Commander in Chief, Field Marshal Mundberg.
<<Comerade Marshal,>> he said <<here is an update on our forces. We have a base north-west of this junction, defended by a handful of tanks and AA systems. 25 Mi-24D helicopters are scattered in the bushes around the base, difficult to spot, but it takes them ten minutes to be moved and prepared for take-off. They will intervene if things get ugly. Last evening, at dusk, the rest of our armored vehicles came to the border of the forest. We have howitzers and gun-mortar ready to fire. A recon squad is trying to infiltrate beyond enemy lines to direct their aim.
How many are you, Comerade Marshal, 500? Oh, 600. Your best option could be to scatter into the woods and perform guerrilla actions. 500 of our troops are already inside the forest. My unit is... here, as you can see. The others are in the west half of the forest. I brought you some spare bird calls. There's three of them, I'm sorry I couldn't bring more, but wee need ours; if you happen to encounter our forces and you are without the bird call, ask Which station to the library?. If answered Olshanskajeva Namjestij, they are our forces. If you are asked first, keep in mind that they might say it in Delusijan, which is Vzche stani'tzka na hřbitov?.
What do you say, Comerade Marshal? The forces are yours, I came with no orders, but advice and friendship.>>

I'm going to assume, since you didn't respond, that the camp has been properly identified. Please, later on if we're doing any similar recon operations, the player who is being spied upon should respond to show that the camp has been identified etc.

The spec ops team loaded their RPG-7's. They had noticed a large camo net over a heavy gun, whatever it was it appeared to be an asset of some worth and must be taken out. One of the men detached his sniper's scope, and began eyeing targets and other defenses.

The tanks at the base were preparing for their light artillery operations. They don't exactly fit in the role, so field command decided to wait until Primordial Luxa responded with what fire support assets they could provide.

.

You are right, sorry. I have been misreading the map.

The camp you have found houses 25 Infantry men, ZSU-23-4 self-propelled AA stations and a single RADAR-equipped ZSU-57-2.
The men are regulars, armed with AKMs and Tokarev Pistols. There is a Colonel, a Major, two Captains, while the rest are Petty Officers and Conscripted.

Kramsten Junction, Forest, NE

The Colonel had been informed of the Pratsean arrival. Not alone in that battle, at last.
The METOX antenna on the ZSU-57-2 had picked a few RADAR signals, but now it was silent. Some of his men had suggested to use it actively for a few minutes, just to be sure that no enemy aircraft was near. The Colonel had refused to. The active search would have begun when all the other AA vehicles would have been in position. As far as he knew, only the western side was covered; the others should have moved on the southern side by the next evening. It was essential to wait until everything was ready.

"You are an excellent person, Sergeant Skoda. We are grateful for the intel you have provided on us" answered Mundberg as he took a sip from his coffee, as he wrote some miscellaneous notes on a piece of paper. "Here" he gave the paper to the Sergeant. "This is for your commanding officer. It is for his eyes and his eyes only. I trust you are a man of virtue, and good intent. I am also sending three men, Lance Corporal Arston, and his two Corporals, to greet the General and send our regards. Good luck, boy!"

After the men departed, Mundberg walked about his camp. Most of the men were asleep, yet others were awake, silently listening. The night was dark and cold. The wind rattled some metal parts lying about.

"Field Marshal!" suddenly said a man behind Mundberg, shattering his thoughts. "It is Overlord!"

The Field Marshal quickly walked towards the radio and picked it up. He quickly began speaking in Aegean, the national language of Pratse (known by everyone that isn't from Pratse as Pratsean).

To the Delusijan Army,
Our intelligence agency has identified you as involved in an emerging pitched battle at the Kramsten Junction. Seeing as your chief enemy appears to be the armed forces of an autocracy headed by a stupendously powerful alien menace, we intend to enter the battle on your side should we engage our forces. You will, however, have to do some convincing, as Riflemoor has no vested interest in the Kramsten Junction.

-----At Sea -----

Fearmonger opened fire three minutes after the order had been given by the Luxan Command Elements. The Tabret soldiers on the ground in coordination with the Corvus and Musca UAV’s in the air offered them a very detailed view of the enemy fortification and positions within the forest. The ship’s Captain had orders to reduce enemy offensive ability which translated to, destroy as much as possible. It took the computers and on board personal little time to make the necessary calculations but eventual coordinates were locked for a piece of the forest that was close to several guerrilla positions and had the largest cluster of enemy Anti-Air weaponry .

-----Kramsten Junction -----

The missile that launched was a Pentagram Cruise Missile it took only two minutes for the projectile to travel the considerable distance to the junction and it was able to smash vertically into the ground because of its height and trajectory offering those in its blast little cover protection. Everything within 40 meters of the epicenter would rocked by the kinetic force of the impact that had the ability to break bone and rupture steel, those within a 100 meters of the center would be consumed by the warheads skin melting explosive payload and those within 140 meters would be pelted by a torrent of razor sharp shrapnel.

As soon as the strike hit the Luxan forces began to move in to take the junction following the central road in the east. A convoy of 10 Taurus APCs, 6 Aries MBT, 3 Leo IFVs, and 2 Scorpio Recon tanks began driving down the road stopping briefly to fan out with the Scorpios, Leos, and Aries taking the lead. Behind them came a Lyra Command and control Unit with 2 Centaurus Modular Missile Platforms and 2 Taurus APCs that remained next to the Tabret base to provide support.

The Luxan soldiers on foot surrounding the woods all took aim the forest searching for any soldiers they could see and opened fire upon anything suspicious they saw. The 3 Warden units were armed with a trio of Autocannons that fired long range high velocity grenades that made cover meaningless while the five ranger teams each had a pair of high caliber sniper rifles.

"Come in Bravo 5. This is Roman 3. Forest Fire is a go, I repeat, Forest Fire is a go. Leave nothing alive. Out."

"Alright boys, let's show them what a couple of RPG's could do to their precious weapons."

7 men launched their RPG-7 rounds straight into the heavy weapons disguised in the camo net, 2 volleys or 14 rounds, with the 3 men providing cover fire. The 2 snipers, tracked their targets and fired their rounds at some 5 men who were standing nearby the camo net, aiming for the head and when they couldn't get a proper shot, they went for the scrotum.

The soldiers would reload their RPG-7s and fire several rounds on the nearby structures and tents, some 5 rounds while the 2 remaining soldiers launched the rounds again on the camo net.

---

Back at the base, an armored company of some 40 BMP-3's set off for the Northern guerrilla base in the forest, loaded with a squad's worth of regular soldiers and one squad of anti-tank soldiers. 5 T-90M tanks, along with 2 BMP-3 escorts were sent to rendezvous with the Luxan forces in the southern portion of the Eastern part of the forest.

Kramsten Junction, Forest, NE

The RPG struck the camp by surprise. One ZSU-23-4 was tore into pieces almost istantly. The second recieved a hit on its side, tried to turn and fire its weapons, but a second shot disabled it, killing the crew on the spot. The ZSU-57-2, a little more sturdy, managed to fire two flaks up in the sky, before one more well aimed RPG destroyed its weapon.
<<They are firirng from the bu...>> tried to shout a Private, before the tent by which he was standing was blown away by another RPG.
It was snowing grenades.
Two men embraced their rifles, took aim and were killed by a 7.62x54 right into the forehead. A third man fell while running for his life, caught in cover fire. A fourth was tapped on the upper side of his helmet, then pierced through the crotch. The poor fellow fell to the ground screaming, and was put out of his misery by a pityful chunk of buring armor falling off the ZSU-23-4, now on fire.
Some ten men had survived the attack, ten out of twenty-five: neither the Colonel nor the major were among them. The whole camp had been destroyed. It had been a carnage. But it was ok: that was war.
They took cover behind some trees.
<<Did someone see where the shots came?>> asked the captain.
<<Yes, behind that tree...>> answered a Private, before his brain was turned to marmelade by another rifle round.
Two men managed to crawl behind a recently fallen tree with a PKM machine gun, tried to figure out the origin of those shots and opened fire. Another PKM fired almost blindly through a thick bush. The other men fired their AKM. The enemy were too far lo launch a hand grenade.
One of them still had his rifle adapter and a handful of blank charges.
He loaded a grenade, cocked the AKM, aimed as carefully as he could under the intense fire, then fired.
It was nine versus a still unknown number of enemies, maybe twenty, maybe more. Probably hopeless, anyway.

Kramsten Junction, Highway, approaching the junction from NW

The first group of 15 Ariete MBT was speeding down the highway, when a man, standing on the turret, saw the flak going off over the forest. The distant acho of a battle came to his ears, over the deafening noise of the tracks biting the road.
<<Captain, we have problems down there, our eastern emplacement!>>
<<What was that?>>
<<A flak has been shot, and no sign of aircraft! Someone is firing big guns!>>
<<Send a message to the base! Our orders are to carry on this way!>>
Another tank stopped suddenly and went off road in front of the column.
<<Here: we will stop here, on the western side, ready to ambush oncoming forces. Hide your vehicles in the trees!>>

<<Tell them we are ready to share fruition rights for this junction.>> said General Pushtojevskij <<and we will null our import taxes on their cars and cheese sales, which will be possible if we conquer this junction. For one whole years, open to negotiation. Now get the helicopters down there: our boys are in serious trouble!>>
Five helicopters were taken out of their nests. Their orders were to fly high for recon, then strike at low altitude. The pilots knew that there could be handheld AA weaponry, but the first tank column had reported a battle in the eastern part of the forest, while one of the guerrilla unit had been misteriously silenced.
<<Come on lads,>> Pushtojevskij said to himself <<find them and smoke them out!>>

Kramsten Junction, Highway, halfway the junction from NW

The second group of 15 Ariete MBT was speeding down the highway, follwed by four ZSU-23-4 and two ZSU-57-2, ready to provide AA cover. The base had informed them of a possible ongoing battle. The RADAR silence had been broken. Now, the RADAR of the ZSU-57-2 was fully functional, and scanned the sky for incoming traffic.
