The Blaken Island convoy moved forward. Its undead warriors sat on the hulls of their BTRs, knowing that they would be difficult to kill with rifle fire, while an RPG shot to the sides of the aging vehicles could simply burn them within the BTRs if they were not lucky. This way they could jump off the vehicle and engage a sudden attacker rapidly.

The Islander wizard smiled back at Mulay. “Thank you for the warning.”

In minutes, the convoy takes up a staggered formation, taking up the entire road, the vehicles moving in such a way as to avoid blocking each other's path if one is suddenly disabled. The BTR turrets scan the forest on both sides of the road, and two of the battalion's staff cars begin to accelerate, moving forward to serve as a sort of reconnaissance. They do not know that it is too late.

Day 14

The Kassaran Naval Corps
Support Task Group Minroz
CIC of the Heavy Cruiser
KNSV "Incorruptible Judge"

"Sir! The attack was effective, but Prasath still has not made contact with us."
"Even after the transmission was sent out?"
"Yessir! even after the transmission, but it seems that the forces on the island are Charmerans, we should be able to approach via 'Kestrel' Gunships and deploy our troops to help reinforce their lines as well as receive combat instruction on further targets."
"I agree, all hands to blue, we should be fine for now. All vessels surface once more, our carriers should deploy the 49th and 51st AAU's (Airborne Assault Units, the Special Operations forces of the Kassaran Naval Corps). Let them know accordingly. All hands to maintenance stations, deploy a CAP around the fleet consisting of two PS-21's and a 'Kestrel'."
"Yessir! Launching CAP of two strikers and a heavy, loadout suggestions?" called out the Tactical Operations Officer.
"Light Anti-shipping on the Heavy, Anti-Air on the two strikers, 500 rounds of HE-AP 60 mm rounds in the cannons on the strikers, .50 caliber rounds on the guns for the heavy." The Admiral promptly stated, he could of simply listed the basic loadout, but a nearby shipping lane and potential enemy fleet had been identified and they needed to make sure they could handle all fronts right now.
"What should we go with on the deployment of 'Kestrels' right now?"
"Same as before on their guns, load up 48 of the KSM-407 450mm Anti-personnel rockets. Have one of the two 'Kestrels' stay behind, have the other drop its payload off with the F.O.B. our men set up and return to pick up more troops and supplies. Also have one of our 'Venus' Class vessels head for the port on Prasath. Give it two 'Pallas' escort vessels. Understood?"
"Yessir, the KNSVs 'Abounding Light' and 'Stolid Courage' are breaking off to support 'Venus' Class vessel 'Michelangelo'."
The Admiral looked on as his fleet on the holographic display began to split up, the carriers staying behind outside of the engagement zone launching their 'Kestrels' and the CAP.
For those of who don't know what a CAP is, it is a Combat Air Patrol, usually best to have one in the air at all times if you're approaching via a Naval Fleet or have an F.O.B. with an Airfield of even a VTOL Landing Zone Pad.
How beautiful it was to look on at the holographic image of Ngipaw, a smoking wasteland cut down the center by the sheer power of one barrage of weaponry from the Kassaran Fleet. hopefully the Prasath Island regiment understood though that this power could also be rather focused and accurate when need-be.

Kassaran Naval Corps
Support Task Group Minroz
Hangar Deck of the KNSV "Odyssey"
"Neptune" Class Assault Carrier 201-1

"Commander!" One of the troopers called out from the line waiting to board the "Kestrels","What do you think we're going to be doing there? We didn't exactly get a briefing or anything."
The Commander, James Tucker Charleston of the 43rd AAU was also in the dark as to his orders exactly, but what he did know is that he was to be deployed to Prasath Island to reinforce the island from the Zaidan onslaught and assist the Charmeran commander [already posted there] with access to air-strikes and medical supplies. Meanwhile the 43rd would be moving to the port at Prasath to help receive and store supplies from the "Michelangelo" and personnel for treating the injuries of not only the wounded, but also the structures housing the wounded and the defenders at Prasath.
"I'm not to certain, but the 51st is already in the air and waiting for us, so we better move if we're to engage the enemy before they do. Don't want to miss out on the fun do we boys?"
"Nosir! Hell nosir!" The Unit responded in an admirably unified tone.
"Then have at 'em! Load up and lock it all up! Have your packs secured and guns checked, loaded, rechecked, then checked again! We don't want to lose any fingers!"
The Commander had decided already that his main goal would be to set up a line of defense that COULD be held on Prasath and then to reinforce it with the twelve 12.76 mm dual-barrel machine guns he was bringing along. Along with those twelve guns, he was bringing 10,000 rounds for each with also the materials needed to mount a grenade launcher onto the gun as well as build up a turret fortification around it. On-board the "Kestrel" when it returned, it would be bringing enough materials with it to build a small fort with which one could set up a small F.O.B. and VTOL LZ Pad. All it was going to take now was time, time to win.

Skies over Prasath Island
20 minutes after takeoff of the Kassaran AAU
in support of Charmeran forces on Prasath Island

A distant roar can be heard filling the skies, two monstrous aircraft in the shape of the MV-22 "Osprey", but with jet-engines instead of tilt-rotors take shape and form from the two distant specks on the horizon they had been less then three minutes before. Screaming for the mainland, they can be heard broadcasting the same signal over and over again.
"Charmeran strike force at Prasath, requesting permission to set down at your F.O.B., again Charmeran strike force at Prasath, requesting permission to set down at your F.O.B., again... (etc.)"

He walks out of the town and climbed up into the local mountains.

In manner of speaking, they’re right. Enemy IED ambushes exploded around the convoy. Mulay herself steers her jeep to the roadside. Leaning down on the wheel of her vehicle, she couldn’t help but cracked a witty smile.

“Oh my, they finally showed up.” She quips; quickly deducting it’s a rebel ambush. Following by the hails of RPG rockets aim straight for the convoy vehicles, the Minrozian vampiress jumped out of her jeep, rolling into behind cover of the big tree.

True to her words, the Zaidan rebels emerged out of their forest cover, howling their warcries at the Allaneans as they charged with their weapons of typical third-world standards...and machetes.

“Hmph!” Brandishing her duel-wielding pistols, Mulay gunned down several who come close to her position or those who tried to kill her. Flashing a grin at her kills, she quickly reload like an ace and gunned down several more again.

“Hey Azaryan!” Mulay hollers to the Islander commander. “Sorry I got your men into this mess! As you can see, we’ve run into the ambush.” She continues killing the Zaidans who got into her way. Even their melee fights proved fruitless as Mulay herself is a master martial artist, making her a very deadly close-combatant.

The Commander of the Kassaran Naval Corps Special-Operations Team: Rapid Incursion Group Beta, Commander Reese Cole of the Kassaran Naval Corps 552nd Special Forces Division looked up at the three "Kestrel" Troop Transport Gunships overhead, realizing that the jungle was all to calm, and that made his men suspicious about what lay beyond the first set of leaves at each end of the clearing, he radioed back to the "Kestrel" in the lead for an overhead radiological scan of the area. Due to the dense overhead foliage cover and humidity, a thermal scan would be almost completely useless, and radar wouldn't help either, so usage of Kassaran's extensive radioactive scanning technology, made so that Kassaran could transmit and receive the highly elusive signals fro anywhere in the world with a 0.00082 second time-delay for every 10,000 klicks away the message was. A radar imaging device using these radioactive signals was found to be possible by scanning for lifeforms in an area of dense foliage or anywhere up to 500 meters under ground. This allowed for safe travel of Kassaran troopers through about any environment. Being highly experimental though, the technology was inaccurate and even though it would show life-signs, depending on the density of the lifeforms, they could easily be mistaken for a large animal.
"Beaver Flight, this is Beta, we are on the ground. Requesting overhead radiological scan of the surrounding forest to get a better image of what we're dealing with. Also requesting that scans be set to pick up anything emitting over 10 microns and under 15. Keep your scans localized to the area around the clearing we're in, and look for metallic pings to if you can. Might let us know if there is armor near-by.

"Copy that Beta, initiating scan now."
With that phrase, Beta Group's Commander ordered his troops to a nearby tree to take up defensive positions around the clearing. Once there, they scanned quickly for IED's or explosive compounds, and, when they found none, took cover and waited.

The Zaidans have finally unleashed their ambush.

Upon fire of the rebel snipers, the Zaidan fighters threw lobs of grenades at the Kassaran positions but missed due to their poor throwing. However, the explosions they caused will surely gain the Kassaran Spec-ops attention. The nearby animals run away in fright of the fire-fights.

Their leader of the band yell out to the Kassarans in his accented English. “You whitemen must die! Die! Raaagh!” he charges at them with his men, firing their barrages of bullets – the usual spray and pay style.

Some the rebels made death-chants in their lame attempt to intimidated their foes. Sadly, it will not work out for them.

Day 14

Contrary to what the Kassarans’ believed, the Zaidans never gave up even the destruction of their Ngipaw stronghold. But the cost of collateral damage is potentially high. There’re worries among the Imperial military personnel that the battle will not be just bloody but costly. Rumours circulating in their ranks that Zhongyang are considering state-sanctioned genocides of the Zaidans if the odds are not in Minrozians’ favour. But it’s doubtful since the Empire already have allies helping out in stamping out the rebellion.

However, the battle for Prasath Island is over, the island defenders have finally fends off the rebels who chose to retreat. Most of the Imperial forces are celebrating it and took a breather. The rest and the engineer teams helped rebuilding the base. Meanwhile, back to the Command Centre, their commanders altogether with their Charmeran and Kassaran counterparts are now discussing their next course of action.

“This is suicide, Yang!” Mima protested. “We cannot muster a force with numbers we have here on the base. And the men are tired.”

General Yang Tao's plan is to send the troops to retake the territories, West of Ngipaw city. But what's more alarmingly, the troops will be sent over there even though there's a possibility of rebel traps which will inflict big casualties for the Minrozian troops.

“What’re you talking about?” Yang Tao mocks. “If they can’t fight then they’re not soldiers of Our glorious empire.” He shrugs nonchalantly.

“Mima and I put our men’s welfare as one of the highest priorities, unlike the certain cat-boy.” Yuelun grunts.

“Meh!” Yang Tao shrugs again, not caring about his soldiers. “At least I made some good results. But need to remind you that I’m your senior by rank.”

Growling, Yuelun and Mima relented, suppressing their urge to lash out at the neko general.

“Say, my fellow commanders, what do you make of this situation and how do you approach the rebels?” Tao Yang asks the Charmeran and Kassarans.

Day 13

Kassaran Naval Air Corps
Rapid Incursion Group Beta
The Outskirts of Kruk, Hariharalaya
Kassaran Special Operations LZ

The explosions rocked the clearing, above, the three escort "Kestrel" gunships open fire on now identified Zaidan insurgents. The Special Operations troopers manage to lay down a heavy sheet of fire superiority as large caliber automatic rifle rounds rip through the dense jungle foliage butchering anything in its path. The response is quick and swift as the troopers fire away at the rebel onslaught.
"Commander! More of the lil' bastards at '6!" calls a trooper.
"Another 4 from the bushes off the '1 sir!" cries another.
The hammering of the large .45 caliber machine gun Heavy Assault Rifles is distinctive and can be heard from many kilometers away as a distinctive popping sound. The next noise is easily identifiable for several kilometers away as the impacting of twelve anti-personnel missiles from one of the overhead "Kestrel" gunships. The fate of the troopers hangs in the balance as they attempt to gain the fire superiority.

The Commander stepped off of the back of the transport, some of the minrozian troops cheered as the AAU stepped off, their bright Kassaran insignias on their shoulder plates giving away their identies without ever revealing their faces. He looks around and notices a young Minrozian soldier assisting in the unoading of supplies fromm the "Kestrel" gunshp that has landed. Overhead, the second Kestrel did a low flyby and then circled again to landat another clearing across the way in the F.O.B..
"You there," The Commander calls to the Minrozian soldier," Where is your C.O.? I need to speak with him right now!"
The young man nods in understanding and gestures for the Commander to follow him to the General's Tent. Stepping in, he introduces himself before he can be shooed away," Generals, my name is Commander Tucker, I am at your service and as are my men. We have been sent here as per direct orders from the Prime Minister to assist you in establishing a beachhead on the mainland. I believe, if I heard right before I entered your tent, you were just speaking on this, stating your men needed to rest, no?"

Artium came down and hit the hood of the car. The Dergarians were mortaring everything and the zadians were present in force. A round from the Dergarian drones had impacted close to where Mamba, Cherub and him were posted up. Mamba was kneeling over Cherub who had taken a piece of shrapnel in his gut. Artium got up and looked around and tried to listen to what was going on over the com system but all he could hear was bells ringing. He stumbled over to Mamba and Cherub as bullets zipped past him. Mamba picked Cherub up and slung him over his shoulder. (Mamba)"Artium we need to get the hell out of here",(Artium) "Pharoah get us a ride out of here", (Pharoah)"Already done sir, AC-130 inbound with hotline on the ground". Artium saw the Dergarians breaking contact with the enemy and in full retreat with several zadians trailing behind them. (Artium)"Lets go! Everyone to the hotline"! The squad moved out and bounded away from the approaching zadians. The AC-130 was in sight and the hotline was trailing the ground behind on the street. They sprinted toward the line as the sniper fire and mortar shells rained down. When they reached the line Mamba hooked Cherub and himself on, the Pharoah hooked up. Then Truck and Artium (within about 5-10 seconds). They were still shooting as the rope pulled them into the air but I sniper round got a lucky shot on the line and cut Artium loose. He fell 10 ft and hit the ground hard. The squad just watched as he got back up and bugged out in the opposite direction of the zadians. If he was lucky thy were too busy shooting at the Dergarians to realize he fell.

After a few moments of the falling back of the DIF the previously unconscious operative woke up with obvious damage once he was set down and moved around (or tried to) I was evident that his right shoulder plate had been forced down covering and disabling his elbow and his leg appeared thinner since the force of the blast was mainly by his right leg which was crushed by the plate on his shin due to the sheer force of the blast. Grate fell back breifly to check with him as the squad kept moving. "You okay?" Grate said out loud just before reaching the dowed operative ironically named Wall.
W: Not really right side is disabled, how long was I dead?"
G: A few mikes, it happens. Hey find the sniper."
Afterwards Grate started dragging Wall by the plate covering Wall's back. Grate then sent a quick message back to his commander, Focus fire on Wall's sight for a round, snipers. Not long after the command was sent an operative screams out as a sniper round hits him in his left shoulder followed by a loud ding. Since the armor doesn't cover fully on the backs of DIF the bullet is now trapped inside the operative's shoulder becaus elf the armor made to save his shoulder. (ironic?!)

One day during the average diplomatic session a broadcast came through of a man brutally kiling five people in various and gory ways. While most of the nations thought it barbaric or tried to look away the Dergarians there loved it even so much to forward the video to the news so everyone could enjoy the entertainment.

The Commander nodded his head at the request of Mima, he was all too happy to call down another rain of fire.
"Where can we put our next salvo then ma'am? We are all too happy to help here. If you need precision, I know we might not seem to be the best at it," he says, motioning towards the billowing smoke over what was once the city of Ngipaw," We definitely have the artillery for anything else you might need too. In fact, we have a Kestrel bringing in an MAUTS right now. The acronym MAUTS stands for a Mobile Artillery Unit Targeting System, so we can target and destroy enemy units a little more accurately. Does anyone have a map that I could look at with the location of all forces for Minroz? I believe there might be others that we haven't yet seen from our recon satellites."
Just then, the roar of the second "Kestrel" Transport's engines returning to the F.O.B. could be heard, and, running over to a nearby window, the Commander saw the MAUTS and the other supplies for the Kassaran beachhead being offloaded," I almost forgot Commanders, Would it be okay with you if Kassaran Military and Medical forces set up camp here? We are wanting to use some of the empty plots down by the docks for Prasath, which I'm sure wouldn't be a problem. Almost all of your men here are tired, and could use some time with our Medics and Engineers over in the Docks. We also have enough space down there that, with your permission, we would like to land a few of our Stinger aircraft there and make a makeshift runway out of the main street." The Commander paused and looked over at the Minrozian Commanding Officers," but if not, we can leave some supplies here for you. Our aircraft's presence here will help you receive faster air support and we could also afford to set up a CAP. Our Stingers don't use much fuel really, almost fully electric they are, so yeah, what do you say?"

Just FYI, I want to help out the Dergarians, but I'm not sure if they are within weapons range (hence why I asked for a map). Anywhere within about 250 kilometers is well within our missile and aircraft striking range, but anything else, and we'd just be hoping for a positive hit that WOULDN'T be falling on the heads of the Dergarians.

Yuelun curses and grumbled angrily about how much of the bastard Tao Yang is in her native tongue. Mima just shook her head in disappointment. It’s clear these women commanders don’t like him especially his approach on the battlefield. But they don’t deny he’s a competent officer.

“Oh, I forgot.” She pressed the button on the console, revealing the map of Zaida and Minrozian-held territories after the uprising. “This is the map especially where our forces are. But be please careful where you aimed your MAUT, we don’t want to involved innocent civilians in the cross-fire.” She sounded morose about it. Tao Yang just chortled at the subject regarding Zaidan civilians.

“Tucker, it’s alright to kill Zaidan civvies. They’re the real scums who helped foster the rebellion in the first place.” He burst into wicked laughter. His female colleagues glared at him for his remark.

[“If you do that, we’ll be no different from the rebels.”] Mima reasoned whilst maintaining her calm expression.

[“Meh, it’s not my fault they’re the savage slavers.”] Tao Yang countered. Taking a lot of willpower to restrain her rage, Mima looked back at Tucker.

“Anyway, we want your next Salvo over here.” She pointed to the East Angkor province. “A large concentration of rebels is amassing at the bridge end and about to attack our Koh Island stronghold. Do that will bring relief to the Koh Island defenders. In the meantime, I'm going to get my men here to recuperated from the fight earlier.”

"As for Admiral Paek's fleet." Yuelun snorted. "I don't know what that bastard is doing. Maybe he's playing a game of battleship."

Artium was about 2.5 clicks from the battle now, the Dergarians were being overrun and there was no reason he should die with them. The city seemed to be mostly intact but the scars of war were still evident. He came across a man hole and decided it would be a safer place to hold up for the night then a building that could collapse at anytime. Artium slid the man hole off and climbed into the sewer below shutting the man hole behind him. At the bottom it was dark and humid, the HUD in Artiums helmet automatically adjusted to the light but even then there was little light to adjust to. He checked a few tunnels and set some claymore mines up, then he rigged the man hole with a trip wire to discourage the curious. He went down another tunnel and found a dead end he could set up a cot and a radio. After he settled in Artium tried raising his squad on the transmitter, it was going to be a long night.

Noticing the mass of troops inbound on him and his team he handed Wall his rifle and then began to carry him so that he could run with the resto free team as they started nearing the rest of the force knowing they would need the ammo once they stopped. It wasn't long at all until the 100 M1 Abrams tanks main cannon fire starts coming towards the rebels chasing the operatives. Meanwhile Grate and the others run and fall into the formation minus Wall and the other wounded operative who give their ammo to the others and continue back to the small crew were Grate originally landed and set up for a short time. Rex chimed in breifly as he loaded his rifle for the on coming fight "Welcome back to the winning team." Also the mortar fire ceases and the drones switch to the their 7.62 light machine guns posted on their right below the mortars so they will be doing bursts of fire since the intensity of the previous mortar shelling.

Day 14

Kassaran Naval Corps
Support Task Group Minroz
The 43rd AAU F.O.B. Prasath-Alpha

Commander Tucker frowned behind his visor. His helmet shielded his face, so the Minrozian "Supreme Commander" could not see his expression, but if he paid close enough attention, he would notice the Commander's body language change at the mention of killing innocents. If there was one rule that was respected by all branches of the Kassaran Military Corps. The Commander had lost quite a deal of respect for his counterpart in this respect, but he did acknowledge him as a superior so he refrained from outright smacking him in the face for such a dishonorable suggestion as killing innocents, but rather settled for a stern verbal tongue-lashing.
"The Kassaran Naval Corps appreciates your status within your own military forces as well as your combat standing, but I myself cannot allow for my men to be killing innocents, regardless of their true allegiances, we are not murderers and neither are you. For all you know, some of these people don't agree with the slavers and could be loyal to the Minrozian cause, but if we go and kill every last one of them, that would quickly change. Even if the Zaidans that aren't pro-slaver are attacked, they will fight you. We don't need that right now and from what I see, you don't have the resources needed to counter the current offensive of just a mere minority of the Zaidan population. It's just bad tactics General. Also, Kassarans, as you should know, are NOT pro-imperialist and do NOT tolerate its unneeded and excessive use, but we do agree with it being utilized as a form of correction for a foreign populace which in this case is the Zaidan's pro-slaver attitude, but what I do not support is your turning them into a lesser population because that too is racist and the very basis of what slavery is General and unless you wish to join their ranks, I am letting you know that you are no better than the scum you fight now if you wish to murder the innocents they hide behind! We are going to win this war General, but it will cost us all men, but men who die as soldiers and not murderers as you would like it."
The Commander shook his head in disgust and rage as he stormed out, not even offering up a salute as he left. A slap to the face of the pride of the arrogant Minrozian Supreme Commander, but nothing more, as the Kassarans had already pledged their allegiance to the anti-slaver Minrozians. The Commander made his way over to the place where the 51st's "Kestrel" Transport had landed and was now dropping off another garrison of Marines from the Support Fleet and off in the distance, the "Venus" Class Hospital Ship "Michelangelo" could now be seen docking at the port and offloading its wares. Soldiers and engineers would be working for several hours before the F.O.B. could be complete.
In the distance, the Kassaran's fleet approached Prasath Island, looking to move into range to fire another massive missile barrage into East Angkor, but before that could be done, targets would need to be flagged by the MAUTS module in the Kassaran F.O.B. in the Port of Prasath and then confirmed and tracked by aerial reconnaissance aircraft, preferably a flight of the PS-21 "Raven" Strike Fighters with the proper components for such a mission. With no further delay, the fighters were launched and under the watchful eye of KOS-2-1 Alpha, they proceeded in flight towards East Angkor.

Kassaran Naval Air Corps

Flight 3-R Light, PS-21 2-Man Element

"This is 3-R Leader to 3-R Wing, do you copy me?"
"We copy you 3-R Leader, over."
"Turn on your T-G-T De-sigs and start paintin' those Innies."
"Copy that 3-R Leader, De-sigs are up and we are paintin'."
The flight of PS-21 Kassaran Military Strategic Strike Fighters was now flying at just over 1 click above sea level which in turn in East Angkor was about 450 meters off of the deck, quickly becoming more and more greater as the coastline slumped down towards the sea. Already the fighters and their crews could see the plumes of smoke rising from Koh Island and Oung Hay. The streaks of tracer fire in the waning light of the sunset over the Koh Gulf would of been beautiful under other circumstances usually, but with the constant streaks of AA fire and missiles flying upwards into the clouds only to plummet to Earth a few clicks away in another place, the place looked hellish. The red glow of the smoldering ruins of buildings along with the bright and vivid oranges and bluish hues that burned in the places not yet completely burnt out gave the place the very likeness of Hell in all of its utter horrific splendor. Below they could see intense fighting as they swept in low over the Minrozian-held fortress at Koh close enough to see the people on the ground look up and begin to shoot at the fighters, but the planes were gone before the bullets could ever reach them as the fighters began their identification run across the Koh coastline.

Ummm, Minroz, mind letting me know who is in East Angkor? Which people or nations are there other than yours? That was kind of more over what I was looking for. Thank you for the map though. :D I also just wanted to apologize if I offend your General too terribly, but Kassarans have been the collateral damage before in a war tat wasn't theirs to fight and paid a high cost for it. That piece of our history makes us very volatile and hostile towards the idea of collateral damage. The only reason why we struck Ngipaw so hard was because anyone who was still there after the high amount of rebels that had passed through there and after how long it took for us to get there, they were either a combatant or active supporter.

Standing across the command table is the portly man in noble robes – he is duke Yip, a Zaidan commander former businessman. Duke Yip didn’t look pleased to see the Charmerans.

“This is Duke Yip, one of my trusted subordinates. He’s in charge of the resistance logistics.” Pol-orp introduced him.

Shocked by the outburst of Dergarian reinforcements, many of the Zaidan rebels are killed in the fight. But another swarm of rebels appeared from the corner. This time, they brought a group of Anti-vehicle technicals, each are strapped with Anti-Armour missile weapons. But surely they’re not enough to destroy enemy Abrams, couldn’t they. Some of their captains are shouting in Zaidan that something related to ‘don’t let them get away’.

Suddenly, the rebels are mowed down by the Minrozian helicopter squadron who just happens to passed-by. However this doesn’t mean it will stop another swarm of rebel troops from attempting to assault on Dergarian positions.

Instead of fuming with rage, General Tao Yang just burst into laughter, thinking it’s a lame joke. Yuelun and Mima glares at him for that. The Supreme commander of the Minrozian occupation forces wanted to roll down on the floor, laughing.

“Oh my god, I can’t believe this. Can’t you see this guy (Tucker)!? Is he really the military officer? Bah! I got almost trounced by the preacher.” He chortled. Tao Yang now dismissed the Kassaran commander Tucker a naïve idealist who refused to accept reality. “Well, no use talking about him.” He stopped laughing and shrugging before he looked over the command board.

“But he does have a point.” Mima seethed.

“Yeah, yeah. Let him discovered things for himself. He’ll eventually realised helping the Zaidan savages is the useless endeavour.” Tao Yang made a shooing expression. “Don’t you have something to do instead of talking about bullshit.”

Following the brief silence, at the same time trying hard not to express their anger, they maintained their stoic composure. Mima and Yuelun then saluted him before leaving the command centre. They knew he outranked them but that doesn’t mean they’ll have to follow his methods. But the duo commanders are now muddled in their minds, thinking about the casualties of war. Yuelun looked over at the body bags nearby, containing dead soldiers under their command. Mima shared the feeling of deep regret for the losses of their soldiers. But this doesn’t stop them from trying to preserve their lives as long as it takes! Whatever fate throws at them. They hoped this bloodbath will end soon.

A portal generator nearby the command centre had finally summoned a contingent of Minrozian reinforcements from the Mainland. With the help of their allies,

Koh forces

“Are those our allies?” One soldier gasped, witnessing over the Kassaran planes. The Zaidan troops didn’t know what to make of it but kept on invading the island albeit receiving their high casualty rates.

“They are!” Another cheered. Cheers echoed all over the troops on the Koh island (at least those who saw the planes), Minrozian soldiers and Zaidan loyalists alike. Minrozian witches either made a brief salute to the Kassaran aircrafts or cheered for their presence. A squadron of Imperial J-27 fighter aircrafts appeared and hovered near their Kassaran counterparts. Obviously, they're not hostiles.

“This is Red Moon One, we’re from the Koh Airbase.” said Captain Hu Yuxi, the leader of his squadron. “Are you our allies, over? If so, let’s give our ground-pounder comrades some help.”

The Charmerans had also reached the Minrozian defenders, tanks, Helicopters and APC's unloading troops to help defend against the Zaidan attack.

Rex was surprised by the air support by what he assumes was his ally, so much that he even lowers his weapon for a moment. He then turns to the infantry and says "You boys fall back to the FOB with Grate like you came, we got this one. Also take the drones, just in case" The troops all says a loud "YES SIR!" with a smaller but louder "Yes Commander." by the drones in their mechanical voice, and start falling back though they check frequently for an additonal ambush. Meanwhile the Armor (the remaining force tanks/ Rex) "Now, groups 1 and 2 you are now BG 1 on the hud and same on for 3/4 being BG 2. (up to BG 4 equaling 25 tanks per BG) With that covered, BG 1 you fire as soon as you see any form of the enemy; and BG 2 you fire the same after BG 1 fires so they have time to reload and so on, roger?" Rex ordered There was no response since the tanks couldn't be heard if they tried although eight green flashes signalled on his system indicating they understood. " Lastly all BGs begin falling back slowly in a straight line until further orders are recived. Now move out and execute." Another round of flashs appeares on Rex's hud again and the tanks begin moving slowly, and with atleast 25 tanks being able to fire and loaded, also they are all aimed at the small choke point that Grate's team fell back from.

Kassaran Naval Air Corps
Task Support Group Minroz
Flight 3-R Light, PS-21 2-Man Element

The Kassaran Captain in the cockpit of 3-R Leader looked up and over to off of his port side, there, hovering just off of his wing he could make out through the smoke a squadron of Imperial Fighters, his radio blaring in his let ear and the target-lock tone for his MAUT Designator module purring in his right ear.
"Red Moon Leader! This is Kassaran Recon Flight 3-R Light, we aren't here for air support, we are here as angels of the apocalypse! You better make sure all friendlies are on Koh Island and safely stowed away behind shelter. I don't think that you are going to want to be in the air either when what we're pulling through here actually strikes!" Looking across, he thought he could see the lead plane's pilot nod.
"Alright, quickly! Get out of here! Now! You don't have much time! CLIMB!" And with that the Kassaran fighters pulled up and went into a straight climb, afterburners crackling with a noise like the thundering of massive giants clashing in the sky, the massive 4 Kassaran TITAN Engines blasted out 40,000 kilograms of thrust per square inch. Rain from the thunderstorm settling in rattled against the cockpit window with the force of bullets, but didn't pierce the triple reinforced bullet-proofed glass. This aircraft was built to take this kind of punishment. Sealing the air intakes against further rain-damage, he [the pilot of 3-R Leader] began to slowly flip his plane over, and in the split second him and his wing-man were suspended in midair above the cloud cover now settling in over the battlefield, the Kassarans could see the entire battlefield anyways, it had been digitally rendered through their first flyby, and now they began targeting the hundreds of ground passages and targets they would be painting. On the ground, the roar of their massive engines could be heard like Thunder in the sky, and then down, like flashes of lightning, their exhaust burning brightly, they tore for the ground spinning in a descending double helix formation until finally pulling out a few dozen meters from above the ground, the sonic shock-waves from their sudden G-Forces pulled in pulling up blasting out the windows and glass of anything near it for 3 kilometers. The crack of thunder to accompany the flashes of lightning they were. Dow towards the coastline, in a rolling scissors movement, they wove back and forth painting targets and relaying information back to the Kassaran Naval Fleet in the Prasath Ports, now in position, and now given a target.

The Kassaran Naval Corps
Support Task Group Minroz
Prasath Harbor, The Kassaran Fleet

The harbor lit up and Kassaran troops cheered as it lit up with the exhaust illumination of nearly one hundred Kassaran Tetsuo-Mikhoven Mk IV Supersonic Cruise Missiles. These missiles, mammoth in size, took off and within a minute had hit their top cruising speed of Mach 8.21 and the roar of their engines, like rolls of thunder could be heard for several minutes even after they had been launched. Now, for the next step in the fireworks display, Prasath lit up like a firecracker as twelve dozen hyper-sonic rail-guns fired off three salvos rom the decks of the massive Kassaran cruisers in the port.
As the lights from the port lit up the island, the Kassaran Commander of the 43rd AAU was making his way back towards the headquarters of the Minrozian forces. He had just received word from his advance troops on the mainland. Commander Miranda Tucker, his sister, had just been killed by a roadside IED while on patrol. The IED as seen from the view of KOS 2-1-Alpha was placed by supposedly cleared civilian Zaidans. HE now saw his error, these people were savages, and now, as the leader of the Kassaran ground forces, he now realized that the Zaidans were indeed brutes, and they were to be exterminated.
Walking into the command center, Tuckers eyes, bleary from crying a few hours, now shown in a lucid rage, and as he walked into the command center, he approached the General, General Yang, and spoke.
" I apologize for earlier actions General, I humbly respect your stance. As I found out less than five hours ago, my sister, the leader of our mainland forces, was killed by a Zaidan family that had set up an IED outside their shack to ambush our forces. They had hoped the proximity to their home would clear them of suspicion, but our observation satellites captured them planting it. They have been executed, but what remains is now my shattered faith in the ability of these savages to properly govern themselves. I submit to your request and I have ordered all ground forces to begin rounding up Zaidans left in Ngipaw and then place them in holding centers for Minrozian forces to then supervise, considering they are your prisoners, I have no need to know what is happening to them, but I do want vengeance. We have launched our assault on East Angkor and our forces are prepared to land and begin clearing houses throughout the greater southern Ngipaw region, so long as they are covered by your men, which shouldn't be a problem. They only have to ride-a-long. We'll be taking over most of the manual labor and clearing. We just need the extra firepower that you can manage. They'll have limited, but still present air support from our remaining two PS-21 " Raven" fighters. How does that sound? Also, we have a squad of Kassarans holed up just north east of your convoy in Kruk, we need you to inform your people that they are in danger of an assault. Our overhead satellites just picked up less than twelve hours ago a massive enemy troop formation heading for them. It's an ambush. The troops will likely be upon them at any moment."
Commander Tucker stood, fuming, waiting for the General to respond.

Spec-Ops Troopers, they, recognizing the source of the threat laid low as the overhead "Kestrel" Gunships let loose their payload into the surrounding jungles. The napalm laced missile rounds setting ablaze the surrounding foliage and lighting the ground around the attacking insurgents aflame. The napalm, a special concoction of the Kassaran Naval Research Department, would only burn for a short time being laced with magnesium making it burn faster, but also burning hotter and thus doing more immediate damage. The shrapnel from the warheads on the anti-personnel missiles flew through the air and ripped into anything located a meter above the impact point and for several dozen meters around it. The booming of the explosions cold be heard for ten kilometers around as distant thuds, but significant enough and distinct enough to be recognized as explosives detonating.

The two staff cars are instantly destroyed, the thin-skinned vehicles far too slim and vulnerable to RPG fire. Behind the convoy, a BTR is on fire. The surviving crew do not scream. They roll on the ground methodically, knocking out the flames. One undead creature wields a fire extinguisher, directing it at its burning comrades. This is a standard procedure, trained in with the men since before they entered their new service. Since they were alive.

The IED explosions were powerful enough to tip several vehicles over, throwing soldiers off, crushing some of them outright. Azaryan himself is disoriented, taking cover behind his vehicle, unsheathing his wand almost by instinct. He was not yet in shape to give commands – but in a few seconds he'd be ready.

By that time, however, the troops were already taking actions. One of the BTRs was plodding forward, pushing a the flaming remains of the staff car away. The vehicle turrets were already spinning in several directions, firing short, controlled bursts of their main weapons – enormous heavy machineguns, more than half an inch in diameter.

The undead warriors were dispersing, trying to make it harder for the enemy to suppress them with fire. Some took shelter in the ditch off the side of the road, using it as an impromptu trench from which they fired their rifles at the advancing insurgents with rifle fire. They had a simple advantage – they were calm, they were not afraid to die, and they were lying prone, firing accurate single shots at the enemies that now advanced upon them.

When the insurgents came to close, the second stage began. The battalion commander was not needed for this one either: the undead warriors threw a grenade each at the men who ran at them, and, as the grenades detonated, charged in with bayonets. It was a fearsome sight: decomposed, mummified corpses in military unions, rising from the ground with fixed bayonets, firing their guns as they launched themselves at the enemy.

Even now, their dried out mouths opened, and they shouted, their voices hoarse and deep. “Hurrah! Death to the slaver!”

Soon the insurgents would discover the main disadvantage of battling against the Islanders. They could only be killed – of course – with a headshot, or by outright obliterating the body, while they themselves wielded rifles with massive bayonets with the expertise of a trained soldier. To them, bayonet combat was not merely a rush of battle-raging berserks, it was a science. They fired their rifles at close range, and then, when the enemy came to close, swiped, slashed, and stabbed with their bayonets, going for throats and stomachs.

“Death to the slaver!”

Artium was laying on his cot listening to the radio chatter as he drifted back and forth into reality. He was tired and the silence of the tunnels made him sleepy but strangely the silence also made him stay alert. Artium could still hear the sound of the gunfire 2 clicks away. The Dergarians must still be in the fight, so why isn't he? He had seen the Dergarians in full retreat so the only way they could still be in the fight is if reinforcements had arrived. Artium jumped out of his cot, if the Dergarians were still in the fight then he was too. He unlatched his helmet and set it on the cot. The locater inside would lead his team to his last known position. As Artium approached the ladder back to the surface there was a small jagged screw trying to hold a pipe onto the wall. He reached down and grabbed his dog tags, the barcode on the back of his neck was what the military would use to identify his body but he wanted a pair of dog tags anyway. Artium was a bit old fashioned and liked to mess with the thin pieces of metal when he got nervous. Even being bread to fight, sticking your head up in a firefight takes a lot out of you. he took them off and hung them on the jagged screw, if he were to die his squad would come hear first looking for him. He climbed out of the hole and ran back towards the fight.

It was so quiet…too quiet. Pockets of scared civilians popped out of hiding behind the cover, either ruined buildings, barricades and abandoned cars. Some rushed out of the city in the attempt to get away from conflicts. Watching foreign forces (Dergarians) moved on, the Zaidan civilians looked on in awe or in fear, whether they’re former slave-owners or ex-slaves.

Red Moon Squadron

“Copy that.” Hu Yuxi nodded off. His squadron served away from the targeting area of the barrage strikes. He relayed the information to Minrozian ground commanders who’re on Koh. Once received the information, the Minrozian Koh forces withdrew to the safe distance. Next, they’re witnessing the Kassaran’s ballistic missile barrage. They don’t really need to imagine the implications of how the Zaidans are killed by it.

“My god…is this really the barrage? I can’t help thinking it’s a carnage.” Said Red Moon-Four in awe and horror.

“It appears so.” Red Moon-Three, his wingmate confirmed.

“But…what about the poor people?” Red Moon-Six sounding his concern.

“Guess, Red Moon-Six?”

“I understand how you feel, everyone.” Hu Yuxi the Red Moon leader said, feeling empathetic with his subordinates. He too hated witnessing the deaths of innocent civilians. “With the rebellion like this, it’s inevitable. But we have jobs to do, people. The sooner we do it, the faster we’ll end this hideous conflict. Over.” He heard the reply of affirmative response from his men.

He took his last look at the ruinous craters of the Kassaran missile barrage one more time. It reminded him of his experience in Khaydaristan and Heljmenistan when he was a younger pilot. It reminded him of Minrozian massed artillery barrages, either shell or rockets, used to rain down on enemy positions before letting the ground forces finishing the job. And it was used in overkill manner. This artillery barrage tactic is known as the ‘Hailstorm Doctrine’.

Suddenly his radar beeps, detecting several hostiles, coming in to his squadron’s way. What shocking him is the IFF tagged unknown fighters as Zaidan. Yuxi didn’t understand it at first since the entire Zaidan airforce of the old are wiped out during the Minrozian invasion. Tracing his foes once they appeared visually, he found out the Zaidan fighter planes are MiG-21 fishbeds. Surprised, he was wondering how did the rebels managed to get their hands on the planes undetected. No matter, he thinks, the Red Moon squadron will deal with them.

“Red Moons, disengage!” he ordered. The Minrozian and Zaidan fighter planes engaged into a deadly dog-fights. However, the Red Moon squadron are outnumbered, three to one. But their training and veteran experience will prevailed.

Prasath

At first, General Tao Yang was confused as he looked away from his datapad in hand. Once he heard Tucker’s explanation, he just smirked in response. The ruthless commander is actually expected Tucker to have a change of attitude towards the Zaidan ‘savages’. Tao Yang doesn’t blame his Kassaran counterpart for that. Chuckling, he puts away his datapad on the table and spoke, “It’s alright, apologies accepted. To be honest, I was expecting you to find out the true nature of the Zaidan savages. the hard way. But I didn’t expected to happen right now. Anyway, my condolences for your sister, may she find a good place in Heavens Above. In any case, we got the job to do. It’s putting these savage into their place in the civilised world. The glorious Minrozian Empire in my case, hehehe.”

He taps his finger at the Holo-map.

“Don’t assume your little barrage at East Angkor is enough to sway the rebels into surrender,” He continues. “We need more than that obviously. I’ve stationed her long enough to know their mentality. Don’t worry I do have plans for them. One of it,” Tao Yang made a smug grin. “is breaking their will, bit-by-bit. Nice idea for revenge, no. It may sound repulsive to you but we’ll save more lives in the long run, hehehe.”

Tao Yang coughs, clearing his throat. “Okay, we’ll make the landing soon. Estimated in two hours from now, I’ll round up every available soldier here in preparations to retake Indrapura with the help of Mainland reinforcements who’ve just recently arrived. I’m counting on you to ensure your men will be step closer to victory. As for the convoy at Kruk, meh.” He shrugged. “I’ll be sure to inform them about it.”

The general then barks orders at the nearby communication operator who then started informing Kiana. Although he cares less if the convoy are alive or not, they’ll be replaced by reinforcements.

“Anything else?” Tao Yang asked Tucker.

Outskirts of Kruk, Hariharalaya

Kiana Khuyildaryag jolted at the sounds of the explosions from the distance. She was shocked, earlier she was distracted by the goat herd. Noticing the explosions from the distance and the Kassaran helicopter, Kiana doesn’t know what to make of it.

“What in the void’s name?” One trooper utters.

“I don’t know, brother.” Another says.

“Don’t you think it’s one of ours?” The sergeant asked his superior, Kiana.

“Probably,” She replied, biting her lip a bit. “but I kinda doubt it. That heli over there isn’t obviously ours.” Suddenly Kiana received the message from Prasath command via her comm-earpiece. Listening in, she nodded in understanding as she grasped the situation why the explosions happened nearby.

“I understand, Major Khuyildaryag out.” Kiana grabs out her gun and cocks it. Concerned, one of her subordinates asked her, “What’s wrong, ma’am?”

“Let’s just whoever in the forest needs our help. Chao, Musa, Vikram, Rahid, get your men and come with me. We have friendlies to save.”

Meanwhile back to the Zaidan rebels, even in the face of Kestrel onslaughts, they don’t really seem to be budged as they focused on fighting their enemies. However, more rebels poured out of hiding, coming out of their underground man-made tunnels, which were hidden in the forests. RPG-troops appeared and started aiming at the Kassaran gunships and fired at it. Luckily, these RPGs are not capable of Anti-air or homing capabilities. But getting hit by the RPG round is sure is dangerous.

“Oho~ that’s more like it.” Mulay quips as she shot one rebel in the head. So far, she was impressed with the islanders despite their undead status. Their skills are perfect enough to deal with this counter-insurgency. Back to battle, a burly rebel tried to club her from behind. Dodging it with the jump, she quickly kicked-back his weapon and dropped her other kick over his head, smashing him to death instantly. The redhead vampire then shot more rebels with her remaining bullets of her duel-wield pistols. Noticing the fallen AKM weapon on the ground, belonging to the dead rebel laid next to it, she holstered her pistols and picked it up. Amidst the chaotic battle, the remaining rebels are too busy fighting the Blacken islanders to care for the cute, redhead vampire girl. Those who did notice were dead by her AKM bullets.

Noticing the Allanean necromancer, she skidded over next to him, killing and slashing the rebels on her way. Mulay patted him on his shoulder to see if he’s paying attention.

“Oi! Are you alright? You look like a woman on period.” She asked Azaryan in the joking manner, knowing he’s fine. “Can you still fight wizard ol’boy?”

Two screaming machete-armed rebels are heading into her direction. Mulay casually shot them in their knees, making fall on the ground face-flat.

Unfortunately for him, he got spotted by the enemy. Nearby, a group of Zaidan militia rebels were happens to be hanging out in the ruins nearby.

“Hey! Is that the foreigner!?” One rebel yelled, pointing in Artium’s direction.

“Let’s get him!” Another shouted.

“Yeah! Who knows if he’s rich?” The portly one cocks his AK74M.

“Let’s kill him!” Another who is the ugliest of them all bellowed.

Now, the group are now chasing Artium with guns ablazed. What can he do now with the pursuing rebels behind him.
