Also, we need a catchy name for the planet. And a map of the continent/island were the action will take place would come handy too. Any volunteer to draw it?

Using any graphic editing sowfware, it will be easy to mark our advances in the planet, or any interesting features that we will need for our RP, like native settlements or mysterious structures lost in the middle of the jungle…
I´m not familiar with Xiscapian calendar, but for how long the plant has been being colonized by them? I think it would be better to keep the presence at the start (just a small outpost) and make it grow as the game progresses

A mysterious planet being colonized by various factions is the frame for the RP to take place, but that doesn´t mean that the RP has to focus mainly in the colonization efforts. This being said, your idea offers plenty of possibilities. How do you envision the natives? Other than being primitive, nothing has been defined about them. What are Alexis´ motives to side with them?
Maybe we can mix this with my idea of the Helian settlement…. The Helians could have established as rulers of the nearby natives, being adored by them as goddesses. When the Dominanthians arrive to enslave the Helians in turn, that would create a situation where there are no truly “good” sides for Alexis to align them. What do you think?
Telvira wrote:Alexis as a citizen of the Empire is probably a bit of a believer in benevolent monarchy so depending on the nature of the Helians' rule she might simply side with them against the Dominanthians/Xiscapians/whoever.

That brings up a point I've been wondering about. Who actually RPs/controls the natives? Is it you, Domi?
I imagine the Dominanthians would probably like to enslave the natives too, thinking about it.
because then Alexis and her people would find themselves on the same side as the decidedly not white-knight Xiscapians.
Given what we know about the Helians, I'm not so sure you could call their rule "benevolent" when they basically enslaved half their species.
. It would be Alexis´ task to discover and judge about the Helians “benevolentness.”

I suppose I will have to be a shared effort, according to our story needs and the role the natives play on it.
Dominanthia wrote:I imagine the Dominanthians would probably like to enslave the natives too, thinking about it.
Dominanthians will be interested in enslaving only the native females. Their slavery is more a hobby for their twisted minds than a real economic necessity.

What would make them not “white-knightly”? Eagerness to plunder the planet resources?

Xiscapia has made the point. It would be Alexis´ task to discover and judge about the Helians “benevolentness.”

We should probably decide what they look like, at least. I suppose whatever cultural details can come out during the RP, but things like physiology are rather important starting out. Do you think the natives are all one species, or more than one mixed together? What about technology? Are they basically Stone Age, or closer to Classical era, or what?

My proposal is making them quite human-like in physiology, with a technology level similar to the Mayans or the Aztecs, but at the same time, the planet is dotted by ruins that suggest an highly advanced civilization. Explore the ruins or investigate the reasons behind the natives' tecnological downfal can be another story hook.
And what about the name of the specie “Paradisians” is good enough or we will need a different name?
