Something is moving (FT OOC sign-up, suggestions, OPEN)

[The Fel]

I'm seeing if there is interest in this RP scenario.

The Fel are very ancient race that hasn't been seen in eons to such a degree they have disappeared into myth. They pre-date most if not all the space fairing nations move into space (think first ones from Babylon 5), but they start moving, their agenda unclear. To begin with a ship here and there but it becomes clear they are up to something over time. It is obviously up to nations involved if The Fel have sometime passed interfered with their development, no prime directive here, ancient ruins, references in texts and the like. The kinda thing a ships holy person might notice but the science officer not.

I have no intention of having them get involved in warfare per-say as I would prefer to keep them unconcerned with the matters of the younger races and aloof as they pursue their own agenda. But the younger races might get the suspicion they are getting used, prepared or manipulated by them in pursuit of their goal. They have extremely good bio tech that lets them to appear to be any race they wish and are incredibly advanced in general.

There is also a possible character RP where the Fel pick up their own from planets all over the place as they may have seeded the worlds with their DNA when they vanished. They now need their people back, well those that carry the genes.

Suggestions always welcome on how to improve this scenario.

I might be interested in this, say having a smugglers vessel stumble across a Fel ship while taking a little used route to deliver an illegal cargo.

I like the idea! I can't see The Fel using normal trade routes, so it would be that kinda thing that would alert nations that something very old is moving. It would most likely be a brief encounter but might stir some racial memory or something. (heck if their is a deity botherer on board they might go into full panic mode).

I don't see the Fel having interfered with the Telrosians development, since their development has been watched over by their Gods, but they could have some link or have met with the Trinity, perhaps. I recommend you have a larger plan, however. I am glad someone has come onto NS with the desire to do a non-war rp right off the bat, but you will need to expand. You need a goal, where this will end, how it will change your nation, etc. Not to mention I can imagine some nations wanting to fight the Fel due to their interference.

hmmmm, well seeing as how F799 is a criminal syndicate, we probably wouldn't report it to much, but perhaps if we got one more plyer to be tailing me or something, than we could start the fiasco.
How do you propose this works? I seems as if you want to start it but then just sit back and do nothing while we try and make up history to deal with your ancient race? It would seem better if it was when the Fel were coming back out of hiding and reappearing once again in the new universe, maybe this could entail a scout ship, the first one sent out to establish the sustainability of "their new uniervese"or something?

I wasn't thinking they would tell the authorities but that some the authorities would pick up that something odd was going on from the stories being told by the smugglers in the bars, etc. Kinda What the hell was that out there? kinda thing.

It is entirely up to the nations if the fel interfered and they simply had not noticed, I don't plan in sitting back. A nation's history is up to the nation in question and no one else, perhaps they fel never touch other nations, but if one want's a bit of a kink in their past it is up to them.

As for their goal I have that in my mind, but telling people what they are actually up to will effect the RP so I would prefer not to. The New universe idea is OK, but they have been away so long that it may as well be. I like having them being totally cryptic as to what they are doing and why (There is far to much good guys vs bad guys stuff, the fel just are.)

As for fighting the Fel, the reason I have them being uninvolved is otherwise their technical superiority would make it one sided. They are the kinda people that attacking is insane, but I don't want to bring that in (like fighting the first ones in Babylon 5...suicide (but I did like how they got out of that)).

And by way of a thought, I want to make it clear that though the fel are very advanced and powerful they WILL NOT involve themselves in wars. They will generally just be seen passing threw and I don't want how powerful they actually are to become immediately apparent. The only reason I'm making them so powerful is to stop the kinda rp that consists of X shows up with a stupid number of powerful ships and forces the fel to tell them, that kinda thing. I hope that they never directly fight another race as this would force them into the open and that is not what they want.

How ever quietly interfering in things, well that's a different matter

I figure at as a starting point the cat's eye nebular might be a good place to kick things off.

Sorry been off-line for a bit (moving house, etc (and my work has a really tight net policy (I should know I wrote it and getting round the firewall would be a pain and probably found out (yeah I wrote the scripts that check the logs and mail me boss with them)) any hoo.

I'll probably start a IC thread in the next day or two, may be sooner, but more suggestions more than welcome!

Edit: Oh yeah as for finding out about them, they will be digging up their fleet (in some cases physically) and frequenting the quieter corners of space. I might also put in some stuff about them having placed people with the Fel's genes on other planets (with the nations permission OOC obviously) and them coming back to claim them/ teach them of their legacy.

It is possible for the Kaderbian Coalition to have encountered from a distance a Fel on the Galactic Edge Worlds, but any such meetings would most likely be extremely brief and considered just a sensor glitch by rookie Coalition Captains. *Shrug*

It would be quite possible as they are coming out of hibernation that a number of ships were sent out ahead and the fel would not want anything to obvious as they are still just waking up, so to speak. I plan on the weirdest stuff starts happening about the cat's eye nebular in a bit. (well other than them having done a bit of solar system re-arrangement already, but their ships are gone from their. Saying that their old home-world is still there, if falling towards the star but that'll take a decade or two to fall in (space is a very big place after all )).

Now I think of it this could have happened out there.

sign up's welcome, will get you contact with the few eon...who knows how old race. There is a SG type possibility, those who's genes have been...well adapted some time back are likely to be picked up by fel tech and it will protect them (and home world...looking for one still).

Half the fun of the fel is their tech is massively advanced and next to impossible to figure. You have no chance of ever even getting the stuff moved, let alone getting it into a starship. The stuff is simply too strange, put it this way their ships are organic living beings and most have a crew of one....well if you don't count the ship (But next to no sensors pick up the fell in the living ship).
