I once had a Firefox addon that helped guard against that kind of thing. Text Save somethingorother. Sadly it stopped being supported a couple years ago.

I'll do a bit of looking around and I'll see if another such addon exists.

I'm currently in the planning phase for an expansion RP, but there's something that I'd like to know. A new colony is established with 1.5 billion inhabitants upon successfully colonisation, correct? Is it possible to have a proper colony with a significantly lower population and increase the population of your main world instead? I'm a bit confused as to what the guidelines to these kinds of things are at the moment.

You max population if your NS population isn't high enough is 1.5 billion. a successful colonization doesn't make 1.5 billion new people. Depending on the support and self reliance of the colony either 100,000 to a million colonist would be good for starting a colony on one planet.

Do you have any idea how many wars, diplomatic meetings, character-focused RPs, fancy dress parties and that other kind of noise that I was involved in at once back in the day with my old nation? Really, it's not an issue.

In NEAR, everyone who has a population of less than 1.5 billion starts out with that population. As per Hob's suggestions, each successful colonization effort adds 1.5 billion to your population over a period of time.
