Civilization Name:Commonwealth of Steel

Government type:Direct democratic federal democracy

Home/Capital planet:Ferrum

Government Information: Bio-synthetic synapse implants allow public entry to the Forum (populus parliament). Members of one of the four castes (Air, Water, Earth, Fire) may vote on policy, law and the election of the council member who is pertinent to their caste. This can expand to include two castes, three, or everyone, if that's who the law concerns. AI's manage lesser civil servant duties. Each Caste is represented by a single council member who is elected for a sixteen year term, which may be cut short by the Praetor Lux, the Monarch. The Praetor Lux rules from the ivory palace on Ferrum, and makes decisions concerning the Commonwealth at large. Each Councillor is part of the Privy Council, as well as the Adjudicator, the Praetor Lux's lieutenant. Each Councillor, and the Adjudicator are equal, but their roles and titles vary vastly. The Praetor may be voted against by a unanimous vote from the council, but on account of the heredity nature and therefore finality of the position, their decisions are rarely wrong due to experience and honour.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Population:2.157 Billion

Species name: Armitage

Founding Species: Armitage

Other Species: N/A (We'll see about where this goes ;) )

Major Civilian industries/Services: [1]Mining/ [2]Manufacturing/ [3]He3 Mining/Refinement

Society and Cultural information: Society is fairly nationalistic, with a dash of imperialism. Population fulfill jobs with efficiency and precision, affected by their Caste-path decision on their 18th birthday, into the field that is an equilibrium between what they enjoy and what they're good at. The culture is fairly dour, where in the people have quite a sense of humour, which is subtle when first heard. The culture has driven the rise in industry and manufacturing as the forefront of the economy, provoking workers to work to produce works of high quality, albeit high expense. As a result, the Earth Caste are the largest ethnic group, the architects and engineers. Then the Water Caste is the second largest, the scientists, merchants and diplomats. Then the Air Caste is the third largest, the spacefarers and pilots. Lastly, thankfully, is the Fire Caste, constituting but 5% of the population.

Respiratory Gas: Oxygen

Base Form: I'll assume this is what and Armitage looks like. Here goes: Bipedal, two arms, two legs, 13 digits on each limb endpoint. Fingers and toes are double-jointed and incredibly dexterous. Skin is a light pale blue, but fades to white on the belly. Face's hue may be anywhere from violet to green, and a thick plume of feathers sit square on the scalp, hugging it back to the rear of the neck. Very weak physiologically.
[Carbon-based Life form]

Life span: 60 years

Intelligence (scale of 1-10 10 being like forerunner and 1 being cavemen):8

Natural defenses/abilities: Punching?
Aggression: (Scale 1-10) 9

Information: The Armitage watchwords are efficiency and precision. Their works are of very high quality, and they pride themselves on innovation and the precision to which they work. They make excellent starships, helped in no small part by their technology, but have a rather weaker ground force. They prefer it to be small and well equipped, earning themselves the designation as demi-paramilitary. Soldiers require extensive augmentation and cybernetic aids in order to compete against enemy soldiers.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Military Doctrine: Manoeuvre warfare. Rather than defend in a siege, they would withdraw and attack again when it suits them better. They seek to circumvent enemy strong points to strike behind them. Adapt creatively to overcome situations, utilising their expertise with technology. Prefer clandestine resolutions to a conflict. Prefer surgical strikes and brief firefights than a war of attrition.

Foreign policy: Default friendly, not neutral. Any death of a citizen initiated by a foreign power, however, will create immediate war. Call it a hair-trigger facade.

Technological Age (Years beyond RL earth): Well, this is hard. Teleporters.....5000 years?10,000 years (Correct me if I'm being outlandish)

FTL Capabilities: Unique method of dimensional attraction. The DeVass Warp-Shield generator forms a bubble around the craft, which is composed of exotic particles using a certain energy signature. This energy signature is that of another dimension, in coexistence with reality. This shield forces the ship into the foreign dimension like holding a balloon under water. This dimension has been explored and selected to be the "inside track of a race course", for that particular region of space. When the ship must return, the shield is purged to be replaced by good, honest electrons which then attract the ship, whilst protecting it, back into the native dimension. As you can imagine, this form of travel does take quite a while, and is fairly inaccurate, but it comes with the bonus of being silent, and rather fuel efficient.

The sun rose above the horizon as the ship orbited lazily across the barren landscape below. Mountains and valleys alike could be seen easily with the naked eye, as the ship held it's precariously low orbit above Solomon. Suddenly, the frozen contrails from a missile's exhaust were illuminated in the dawn sunlight, and a warhead flew out of the sun's glare to strike the starboard hull of the cruiser. The captain, without orders and bereft of initiative or experience, was frozen to her chair as the ship began it's rather violent greeting to the ground below.

We cheat Death from his rightful victory. No one can defeat us. We are glad to plunge feet first into Hell in the knowledge that we will rise.

Motto:Here we stand

A benign monarchy. The Praetor acts as a hereditary monarch whose heirs are not bound by Salic Law. The Iron Council represents the people through their four representatives; Star Primarch, High Lord Sentinel, Keeper of the Books and The Master of Works. Each citizen is born with biosynthetic synapses allowing them to represent themselves on voting for policy.

Hi guys, sorry about leaving without notice, went on vacation and in the flurry to pack, etc. NS was the last thing on my mind minus some posts I made with the internet access I had.

I am thinking of turning Arcerion into a system of chaos planets. Pretty much gangland-esque cartel-ridden hell holes with only a semi-functioning provisional government in place. Very few long-range jump capabilities, but a lot of trade moving through there.

Thoughts?

Yep. Pretty much. Think of the Refugee-side of Earth in the new Total recall, except with waaaay more violence. The ProvGov, as its called will barely hang onto the ports it uses to keep trade flowing into the planets.

The Javakin have(and will have had) a growing cybernetic industry.

The Ilium are quit found of taking organics and rigging them with various weapon and such, after they have modified the genetic structure to fit what they need and taken control away from the original being. After that They are more than happy to fit all kinds of booby traps and internally housed weapons, usually taking up the space of organs that a being can live without for a few weeks. Its a nasty process but it makes some very convincing insurgents or hardened shock troop.

The favorite add on for insurgents is a device that allows them to create a powerful magnetic field that can rip the iron rich hemoglobin out of organics with human like blood. Basically it rips your blood out of your body and it should effective on any oxygen breathing creature, seeing as the iron in it is what makes blood work.

I'm curious as to what the ratio of "normal" States is to abysmal horror states.

So far Ive counted 4 "normal" states and i use that term loosely
the Javakin governments
The Coalition
the Order
What ever Cauk got going.

and for the abysmal Monstrous race that might only conduct limited diplomacy if it suits them, I'm counting 2
The Ilium
The Orks

The Ilium
Venitorie
Niteris

All Coalition citizens who can afford it get cybernetics. Of course it's minor, like being able to see infrared, or bone strengthening, or life-lengthening procedures, and other such things, but nothing overly extreme. It's not banned, but it's taboo.
