I am ready for it in the sense that I'm not suffering from writer's block, and am looking forward to the actual summit taking place... but I'm about to hit the hay. :( It's well past bedtime for me, I should have crashed a few hours ago and I'm feeling it.

Awesome. I am writing it now.

Heavy Industry (Perm Works, Tsaritsyn Plants)
Agriculture (Imperial Martian Homestead Coop, Kalifornia Farmer Union)
Metals and Asteroid Mining (Imperial Asteroid Concern, ExtraSolar Limited, RUSAL)

Life span: 87 years (lower classes)/229 years (upper classes)
Intelligence (scale of 1-10 10 being like forerunner and 1 being cavemen): 7-ish? While some of them are quite inbred and stupid, others are quite ingenious.

Natural defenses/abilities:
Vodka-based blood provides natural immunity to all diseases which die in an 80% alcohol environment. Flammable breath.
Really, though, they're squishy humans. They punch things.

Aggression: 8, but it depends on the situation, really.

Information:
Bog-standard humans, but with big hats and fancy uniforms.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Military Doctrine:
Shock and awe, heavy artillery bombardment where possible, followed up by massed infantry formations. Cavalry employed to flank the foe and chase routers down, or to overrun a particularly difficult enemy position.

Foreign policy:
Generally the Russian Empire prefers to incorporate states peacefully, and typically avoids meaningless conflict. As the galaxy contains a virtually endless supply of planets to exploit, the Empire seldom gets confrontational over worlds, and will generally even think long and hard before expending too much effort over a habitable planet.

Technological Age (Years beyond RL earth): 3200 AD

FTL Capabilities:
Russian FTL is based on the Etherway, an alternate dimension of mysterious tubes where light travels at 600mph (about.) As this dimension does not scale with ours, and the entry points appear to have no relation to their relative positions in our own universe, Etherway entrances/exits must be mapped prior to use. However, travel between them can be quite rapid, as achieving fantastic speeds in the Etherway is simply a matter of accelerating up to the desired speed.

The downside is the Lovecraftian abominations which lurk within some areas of the tunnel network. These are known to be large enough to swallow a modestly sized frigate, and are highly aggressive. Often they will pursue ships back into 'real' space, where they tend to explode and/or undergo Massive Existence Failure.

Military Information:
See army/navy factbooks in signature.

A splash of Last Exile, a dash of Warhammer 40k, bits of random scifi novels I've read here and there, and, of course, history.

The young Tsar had only taken a casual glance into the window of the old shed, one of a million in this sub-district of Moscow's lower reaches. Through the grime, though, he had spotted the shape. It was unmistakable. A spaceship.

Ordering the whole column to a halt, Peter leapt from his carriage, order gesturing sharply to Zotov, who in turn waved two guards out of the file. The door, which was rusted and secured only by a few scraps of chain, broke down rapidly under the assault of the soldier's kicks and musket butts. Peter hardly waited for the jagged edges of the door to be swept out of the way. Sweeping through piles of dust ankle-deep, Peter and his tutor inspected the ship. Old was, perhaps, an understatement. It was clearly an in-system craft, possibly an old surface-to-orbit hopper, some young noble's toy for picking up those high-born girls. There was no provision for anything more than a few day's supply, and only room for perhaps five passengers after the pilot.

"Nikita." Peter turned to his tutor, "I am going to fly this."

The random fluctuations of space-time have dropped Space Russia into some sort of mysterious alternate universe. This portion of an old NSballs comic shall become related (sort of):

Looks good to me, comrade! Feel free to use your older nation and its pop if you like, just make sure you post here with it so others are aware that you have the pop to support it and that it is actually yours (I've had too much coffee so bear with my ineloquent speech patterns). I'm really psyched that you decided to join, too.

Just remember that once you 'warp in' you'll only have your alt Sol system, and no pre-established trade routes or outposts. You are more than welcome to establish them through RP however.

OMG here, just posting to confirm that I do, in fact, have this nation.

The only out of Sol thing I planned on possessing was Ansal, a sort of allied state to the Russian Empire in the form of a small moon of a few million inhabitants. They're quite close by, and (in terms of Russian history,) are important in that they provide a more practical FTL system for the Earthlings to use. It's close enough by that it would fit in my starting hex.

But if it's not permitted, then I can make some changes.

And yeah, I'll work on updating my factbooks to reflect all this. The current numbers are for the FT prime.
Workers of the Galaxy, Rise up! You have nothing to lose but your chains! IN SPACE!

Attention! The First Galactic Finance Accord has been posted! If you sent an ambassador to Blood and Commerce, then you may either sign the big treaty (see the thread for details) or simply leave the summit.

Everyone makes money from this, and it will usher in a new era of trade in the central sectors of our universe.

Civilization Name: The Kingdom of Tarsonis
Government type: Parliamentary Monarchy
Home/Capital planet: Elumarnia
Government Information:The Monarch has executive authority for their life time, this includes Military, Diplomatic, and if necessecary Judicial Control. Unlike traditional monarchies the Monarch is subject to the Law, and succession is not determined by blood, but appointment from sitting Monarch and approval from the Ruling Council. Other Candadits can vie for the seat as well. While the Monarch has executive autority the Ruling Council has Legistlative Authority, they are responsible for the Governing Laws of the day to day, leaving the Monarch free to handle the bigger things. Politics are generally civil, but have been known to turn brutal, even deadly.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Population:: About 7.3 Billion.
Species name: Humans
Founding Species: Human
Other Species: Psyonic Humans
Major Civilian industries/Services: Technologlical Advancement, Service Industry.
Society and Cultural information: The Military and Civilian Sector have essentially merged as far as society goes. Every Citizen serves in the Military either Actively or in the Reserves. There is no Economy to speak of, as it can be defined as "Post Scarcity". With the technology to rearange matter at the Sub-Atomic Level, Manufacturing Industry and Resource Mining became obsolete. Bulk matter is recycled into what ever is needed. This has led to an incredibly expansive military and research capacity. The overall societal drive is for the greater good of the Kindgom, rather than the individual, though Individuals are free to persue their own goals to a point.

Psyonic humans are conscripted into the Mornarian Division for their Military Service. While equal under the Law, Psyonic Humans have become a sort of ruling Elite, as they currently Control the Monarchy and the Military.

The Otari, are a seperate race of humans recently added to the population. While they are non-Psyonic, they too have a powerful presence in the Active Military, and Paramilitary Intelligence Agencies.

Respiratory Gas: O2
Base Form: Standard Human,
Life span: 200 Standard years
Intelligence (scale of 1-10 10 being like forerunner and 1 being cavemen): 9
Natural defenses/abilities: All are trained in various disciplines of Hand to Hand Combat. Psyonic Humans are particularily powerful, able to focus their Psyonic Powers from minor forcefields and weapons, to Planet Destroying awesomeness (depending on the Pysonic)
Aggression: 1
Information: Factbook under construction. But Current Factbook will suffice for the moment. Link in Sig.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Military Doctrine: Stealth. In the deep space, Taronians posses incredible stealth technology, being ultimately undetectable. As they approach a star they are easier to detect but still very difficult. However this technology also cancels out weapons and shielding, limiting their military efficiency while cloaked. Rather than fight, they simply ignore people. This has lead to an almost mythic reputation for Tarsonians, many peoples believing they don't actually exist.
Foreign policy: Ignore, unless needed, then follow escelation of force. If you're cool, their cool. If you ain't cool, they'll destroy your homeworld in a matter of seconds (obviously RP rules apply)
Technological Age (Years beyond RL earth): Not really sure what you mean here. Id estimate they've advanced past tech in military weaponry by roughly 80 million years, despite their infancy. Largely due to predatorty research. However in terms of civilian technology, roughly 1 Million years.
FTL Capabilities: Hypersacial Drives and Trans Warp Drives capable of 250X Light Speed
Military Information: Factbook largely under construction, but current Factbook will suffice. Link in Sig

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NS activity: Moderate, generally confined to weekends.
Technological Bases: A mixture of StarCraft, Halo, StarTrek, Macross, BSG. Military Science is everything. With Replacation technology, anything is craftable.
Prior RP links: (optional)
NSTRAKER Link: I don't really use my NS tracker for my nations IC status.
Please write an impromptu post around the length of a paragraph to display current RP skill.

Jesaria sprinted down the dimly lit passageway. Using her last remaining firearm, she fired bolts of plasma over her shoulder at her persuers. As she ran, the unfamiliar halls of the Harverster Bio Ship, became a labyrinth, any wrong turn holding the promise of death, or worse, capture. Tossing her final grenade behind her she continued on. The shrieks of pain sounding behind her, as the grenade detonated, told her she had aimed true. She entered a new corrider, her successful toss buying her a few moments respite from her persuers. She quickly found an isolated chamber to catch her breath. With little options, she activated her emergency subspace tranciever.
"Silent this is Draco, come in." she said, calling the TSS Silent Prey, which was, hopefully, nearby. "Silent Come in." she said again. No response. Cursing, the reality of her situation set in. She was alone, on a ship full of Harvesters, with no ammunition and no promise of rescue. She had long since made up her mind she would not become one of them. Hand trembling, she placed the warm muzzle of her weapon against her temple, and closed her eyes.

I don't think you can claim to be totally undetectable - that's something you've got to agree upon with other players.

It's more of a plot point than an actual function, of gameplay. It's the culmination of a rather tragic backstory, and I can justify it technologically speaking. But as for interaction and fairness, I've limited it considerably, i.e can't go near systems and no weapons or shields.
