Devastating news out of the Royal CommonWealth of Scottopian Isles today, it has been released by the governments Aviation Transit Authority that Flight CA331 has crashed in the mountains outside of MacKenzie City not long after take off.

Not much is fully known about the craft except that the 737 flown by Inter-Council Airlines was heading from MacKenzie City, Northern Highlands to New Greenock, Inverclyde Isles. The Aviation Transit Authority has acknowledged the plane was fully loaded with 112 passengers & 8 crew, mainly football supporters, including a couple of foreign citizens onboard.

In a press conference hastily organized this afternoon by the Minister of Culture which oversees the ATA, Minister Matt Shawyer stated that the pilots radioed with engine failure and requested an immediate emergency return to MacKenzie City Airport, but the craft dropped off radar before Air Traffic Controllers could respond. Further information is expected after an inquiry is launched.

Eyewitness on the ground told tales of the airplane banking in a continual loop, before spinning upside down onto its underside then disappearing behind the foothills. Dark clouds still rise from the impact zone about 15 miles from the City. Attempts to reach the site were thwarted by members of the 22nd Northern Highlands Royal Scots Guard and the Northern Highlands Highway Patrol as they contained the area.

King Scott James has dispatched the Royal Medical Air Service, which usually offers emergency medical treatments to outlaying islands and distant communities without hospitals via helicopter, and has confirmed airlifting numerous survivors but further information is being withheld until further notice.

The accident comes during troubling times for the airline industry inside the CommonWealth, as the federal government is debating to move ahead with plans to merge all airlines into one nationalized service with operations for both domestic and international flights. Today's incident is surely to strengthen the governments position over the various independent companies.

Para-divers ignite a flare to signal the pickup of Yacht accident survivors Lydian and Marcus Fisher.

PRN Hope, Theonernian Coastline - When you set out on a $2.3 million dollar Excerst Yacht, you expect a smooth trip with diminutive current disposition, and hopefully no internal engine failures that could result in a violent explosion. Newly wed couple Lydian and Marcus Fisher got all their expectations met, except for the part that includes the engine erupting into flames.

15 minutes into their silent trip outside Usyae, an unexplained fuel leakage ignited a blast that ripped the stern in half and sent the couple into the ride of their lives. Half the vessel went one way, and the other half disintegrated with the engine. Luckily, both were safely inside the cabin and were able to run above deck before water began flooding the lower parts of the boat. Marcus immediately issued a distress call, contacting the local Coast Guard services with an operations base about 23 miles away.

The call was directed to Captain Emily Ackerman, vibrant leader of the PRN Hope, stationed just outside of Usyae. Jetta para-rescue team divers were immediately called into action, their first emergency call of the month since an aircraft accident weeks prior. Throwing on lifejackets and bolting life support equipment into a MH-65 Dolphin, squad leader Dimitri Burston and his team lept into action, arriving on scene within 10 minutes.

After a safe team dive in-n-out, the couple were flown to a hospital and checked out with minor injuries. "It could have been much worse...things happen the way they do, and we're just glad to be safe." states Marcus.

First Lady Hospitalized

Cheyenne, Aurelia-First Lady Elizabeth Marshall was hospitalized late this evening with a broken ankle after a apparent fall down one of the side staircases in the Presidential Palace tonight.

Elizabeth Marshall, First Lady of the Republic and wife of President John Marshall was hospitalized late this afternoon for a broken ankle which she apparently sustained after a short fall down one of the many staircases in the Presidential Palace this evening. The palace has confirmed that Mrs.Marshall is in stable condition and will return home later on tonight under her own power sometime tomorrow.

The First Lady was discovered by a member of her Praetorian Guard security detail was immediately rushed to a private doctor outside of the Presidential palace. Doctors immediately treated the wound and Mrs.Marshall was reportedly joking with other patients within the hour.

A statement by the hospital echoed the one issued by the Presidential Palace and reassured the public that the First Lady as okay and stable and that she would be released sometime tomorrow under her own power and into the care of Palace's private medical staff.

President Marshall was in Caprica City,Caprica giving a speech to the latest graduating class of Allied States Defense Force Army Officer cadets when the incident happened. A source close tot he President confirmed that Marshall is indeed aware of the First Lady's injury and intends to fly back to the Capital tomorrow.

Elizabeth Marshall is the beloved wife of President Marshall and has been a vocal supporter of a number of private and public charities which support causes ranging from funding education reform abroad to environmental protection within the Republic. Before becoming the First Lady of the Republic; Marshall was the head of the non-profit organization ''Republica''; a non-governmental organization that brings attention to the various plights that citizens and residents of the Republic are suffering from as well as funding research into clean and affordable energy and medical technology.

As First Lady, Marshall has continued to work with ''Republica'' on a number of projects as well as continuing to be the public face of the organization as well as that of the First Family.

President Marshall addresses Congressional committee

Cheyenne, Aurelia-President John Marshall addressed the Senate armed forces committee earlier today in a open meeting; where he outlined the need to increase patrols in the Western Aurelian Sea.

Marshall addressed the Senate Armed Forces committee, chaired by Senator Richard Tomarchio Jr(F) regarding the need for increased naval patrols in the Western Aurelian Sea in order to counter increased activity from international pirates off the coast of the nations of Trellin and Kelonna.

President Marshall has long been a supporter of the proactive defense of the Republic's territorial waters; a stance he has refused to shy away from since obtaining the presidency in late 2008. Since being inaugurated as the Commander-in-chief of the Allied States Defense Force(ASDF),the unified armed forces of the Republic, Marshall has authorized extensive land and naval patrols across the Republic as well as technically illegal cross border patrols into the nation of Andamonia in early February of this year.

The Committee met today at the request of the President's office to discuss Marshall's desire to increase naval and naval based aerial patrols in the Western Aurelian Sea to address public concerns over increased pirate activity in that region in addition to safeguarding the Republic's territorial waters from illegal violations of sovereign waters from hostile nations.

Under the Marshall Administration the ASDF has expanded more than 16% and with the passing of the ASDF Modernization Bill late last year, has been been promised more than a trillion Zollars in funding over the next decade to modernize and expand it's forces. The Allied States Air Force(ASAF) has already begun it's modernization with the acquisition of a number of Emmerian designed F-26 Aerial Supremacy Fighters and several new radar stations along the Republic's northern Border.

The Army has also begun to utilize it's funds with replacement of the aging M-17 Assault rifle with the also Emmerian designed M-18 Modular Weapon System and the retirement of it's fleet of M1A1 Abrams tanks.The Allied States Army(ASA) is currently searching for a replacement for it's aging fleet of armoured vehicles and is testing designs from a variety of regional and extra-regional sources.

The ASDF's Naval branch, the Allied States Navy(ASN) which was the subject of today's open session of the Senate Armed Forces Committee(SAFC) has yet to announce any plans to retire or replace it's aging fleet of aircraft carriers or missile destroyers.

Sources close tot he President Marshall say that the President intends to give the Joint Chiefs of Staff the go ahead to increased patrols regardless of SAFC's approval with the action and today's session was simply a courtesy call before ''orders went down the chain''.

Professor Octavian Flavius Scilla of the University of Caprica, a well-known expert in international relations had this to say regarding accusations that Marshall intends to reassert the Republic's position in International affairs through increased military activity; '' President Marshall believes the Republic is declining in influence and position, not only within Astyria but globally. However, the decision to increase patrols in this particular area is not related to that belief. Piracy is genuine problem in the Western Aurelian Sea and he is doing his duty to safeguard the Republic's interests by increasing patrols in response to this problem.''

Senator Tomarchio requested a recess around noon and the committee meeting was rescheduled to May 1st, 2014 or until the President's schedule permits as is custom.

And yet, he has yet to experience a day off the job as Euralon's national leader. Major natural gas field discovered off the coast of Acaema

Cheyenne, Aurelia-State-owned energy giant, Omega Energy announced the discover of a major natural gas field 80 kilometers off the coast of the state of Acaema today.

A spokeswomen for the state-owned energy giant, Omega Energy announced today that the company had discovered a major underwater natral gas field roughly 80 kilometers off the coast of Acaema. Dubbed the Acaema field, the natural gas field is believed to be roughly 80-90 kilometers off Aurelia's southwestern coastline and 8000-9000 meters below sea level.

Federal geological analysts have yet to confirm the Acaema field's exact corporations but optimistic corporate experts estimate it to contain anywhere from 6 to ten trillion cubic feet of natural gas; easily enough to power five million homes for the next twenty years. Teams from the Federal Departments of Energy and the Environment are expected to begin surveying the field sometime next week after Omega's claim to the field is finalized with the Acaen Chamber of Commerce later this week.

The Federal government has been uncharacteristically silent about the discovery with President's office refusing to give a statement on the discover.Marcus Augustus Glaber,Praetor for the Department of Commerce however is extremely optimistic regarding the prospects for the field and for Aurelia as a whole. He was quoted as saying, '' The Acaema field has the potential to turn Aurelia in Southern Astyria's preeminent energy superpower. Even though the lion's share of gas won't be available for the next five to ten years; the Republic stands to gain many trillions of dollars in foreign and domestic investments in our economy which could cause a chain reaction that would trigger Aurelia's third golden age.''

The AP's resident economist, Robert D. Smith had this to say, '' [While] I don't think this discovery is the game changer Mr.Glaber thinks it to be. It can be said that if this field is even half as large as they claim it to be, then the Republic will have a very very bright future indeed. The region is already attempting to ween itself off other less environmentally friendly fossil fuels and the tragedies in Japan have all but sealed the deal for Atomic Energy; natural gas is becoming a hot commodity, one will soon have in relative abundance.''

While politicians and economists alike are giddy at the prospects this discovery brings to the Republic, some aren't convinced that this is a good thing. Green party backbencher,William Fends issued a statement earlier today condemning Omega Energy for ''prostituting Aurelia to make a quick buck.'' We later caught up with Mr.Fends and he repeated his statement, adding ''[that] just because we can mine the gas doesn't mean we should. The Republic's environmental history has been suburb until now and our regulations are some of the best in the region. But the sheer size of the field would almost certainly invite disaster in some shape or form; and not only would we have to pay for it, Aurelia would as well.''

With the jury out among the people regarding whether or not the discovery of the Acaema Field is a good thing, the markets have spoken and they say yes. Stocks in the Omega Energy, the state-owned energy giant that discovered the field are up almost 100 points since the Cansae Stock Exchange(CSE) opened this morning as well as shares in Jennings and Rall and Belkan owned Grunder Industries; two companies that have close relations with Omega Energy and the Aurelian Federal government.

Atomic energy provider, Mundi Industries took a hit since opening the announcement, falling a total of 38 points so far. Spokesman for the company, Geoffrey Pines had this to say, ''The discover of more natural gas doesn't change the fact that Atomic Energy in Aurelia is king and that fossil fuels no matter their form are a finite resource. This changes nothing in the long term, at all.''

TELORA, Aquitayne - A shooting on Constantine Street has rocked downtown Telora, and the shooter has not as of yet been apprehended.

At mid-day in downtown Telora today a large firefight erupted on Constantine street, just as office workers from the nearby Business District were leaving their workplaces to get lunch. It is not yet known what caused the firefight, but Police are indicating that this situation is not related to gang warfare.

Preliminary reports place four Aquitaynians dead and five more in critical condition in hospital early this afternoon. It is not yet known why, or who, caused this firefight to erupt, but Police say there was some type of document dropped at the scene which they are using to facially recognize one of the suspects.

Over one-hundred rounds of ammunition were fired during the two-minute exchange, and it is not yet completely clear what the level of damage is. Throughout the country, on social media, other citizens have been making the hashtag #4Telora trend across the internet.

Teloran Police have already quardened off a 10 by 10 block area around the scene, and they are combing the crowds for the suspected shooters. We will bring you more as it comes to us.

Airline Industry Power Struggle Shifting

Vitalita, ViZion - The airline industry has long been one of the most intensely competitive industries, and until now has gotten even more competitive. With the rise of super-power airlines such as Royal Kington Airways, Air Liberte, and Destiny Airlines, the struggle for being the top airline has actually become a contest after years of pure dominance by ViZionair. However, faster than the industries power-players rose, there is again but a single power player in the global industry - once again, ViZionair is number one. And it isn't even a fair fight.

As dominant at ViZionair was for so long, industry analysts are saying it is even a tougher fight now for its competition. With the acquisitions of Destiny Airlines, Royal Kingtonian Airways, and some smaller Astyrian airlines, ViZionair has more than 1,000 destinations across the globe. For comparison, the second largest airline barely breaches 300. The destination list and route network that ViZionair now employs is a massive boon for its customers, and the airline alliance Clear Skies Alliance that it is a founding member of. But to its competitors, especially those that recently became industry power-players? The game just got harder than ever.

Yet with all of these acquisitions, ViZionair is also cutting loose its subsidiary ViZionites Airline. The high-end subsidiary has become increasingly unnecessary for the massive company, who already has another luxury subsidiary. And as lucrative as the luxury airline industry is, with so many competitors, the brand was simply suffering and sucking money in that ViZionair could have allocated elsewhere. As such, Ceniana, one of the industries largest airlines, has announced just today that it is purchasing the subsidiary airline for $1.72 billion, netting back some of the roughly $50 billion the company paid out in a five-day period to acquire five different airline brands, most notably Royal Kington and Destiny.

As tough as this makes it on ViZionairs competitors, it could actually be a blessing in disguise. Clearing out a big chunk of the power-players opens up the possibility for some of the smaller airlines to expanding and grow to fill any void left over. That, of course, is assuming there is a void left over with the mammoth of the industry rapidly growing, and with so much power and financial strength behind it.

NATIONALISTS TRIUMPH IN EPSOM

The Epsom Nationalist Party (ENP) has won the most MPs in the Epsom dominion election and secured a majority in the Epsomian House of Commons. The ENP, a party which advocates independence from the Dangish Empire for Epsom, is led by Sylvia Barnes and has announced plans to hold a plebiscite on independence before the end of its five-year term. The ENP is allied with the Co-operative Party in the Imperial House of Commons, but does not currently hold any seats.

Sir Henry Tessel, the outgoing Prime Minister of Epsom and leader of the local Conservative and Monarchist Party, has conceded the election. The election saw the Conservative majority of 13 in the 100 member Commons collapse, with the ENP securing a slim majority of 3 seats. For the last five years, Epsom was governed by the Conservatives, under whose rule the dominion saw major welfare reform and a legal challenge to the Liberal healthcare proposals. The Conservative government was, however, beset in recent times by an array of scandals, and the faltering local economy has revived nationalism.

The Nationalists have long been ambiguous on their proposed policy, and their share of the vote has never risen as a result. In this election cycle, however, Barnes proposed clear and centrist policies to attract voters previously alienated by policies dubbed by some to be "racist." Barnes' primary goal was to secure independence for the dominion. Whilst specific plans have not yet been agreed, Barnes has indicated that an independent Epsom would renounce the Crown and cease to use the Rekt as a currency. Barnes did suggest that an independent Epsom would seek to secure a defence agreement with the rest of the Dangish Empire.

Many voters were convinced by the Nationalists' message on the economy, rather than their policy of independence. "We pay more to New London than New London has ever given to us," claimed local resident Julia Moore earlier. In reality, the Imperial government provided the Epsom dominion government with a block sum of $1.6 billion last financial year, whilst imperial tax revenue only accounted to $864 million. An independent Epsom would have to deal with this problem very shortly.

A Type-66 "Hellcat" Attack Helicopter, recently purchased by the Euralon MoD, flies quietly towards an aircraft trial location. The aircraft is only a fraction of the total amount reportedly purchased by the MoD.

South-Western Coast of Euralon - Euralon's military is the most funded program in the entire nation, and one of the most technologically advanced in the region of Astyria. It's not a big surprise to see coastal defense ships docking at port, or a few interceptor aircraft soaring over the skyline. What is surprising to see, however, is a 700 billion dollar deal involving Euralon and a new addition to its renowned military.

Reports have come in that a new deal between Euralon and Myrmidon Tactical Arms has lead to one of the biggest military overhauls since the bulk of the military modernization program that started in the early 80's, codenamed Defense Order #092. While officials have only released a portion of the venture, its been confirmed that well over 200 new aircraft have been added to the Royal Air Force, with more exports still being calculated. What's inquisitive, however, is that the aircraft only account for 2% of the entire purchase itself. This means that the secondary addition to the overhaul costs more than any other singular military purchase ever made by Euralon in its history.

Officials from ENN tried to question representative Noah Ford of the MoD, the backbone of the established deal, after he conducted a proclamation of the circumstance following the release of information about the exchange that happened within royal offices. He declined to answer any questions concerning the products of the deal, stating "We're only doing what's best for the nation."

Yet, everyone seems to be unsatisfied with such an answer. Recent statistics collected by officials regarding military surplus are showing a rise in funding around the military factor, including research facilities, and naval and air assets. New additions to Euralons law enforcement force are beginning to manifest around the nation as well, with citizens observing more innovative enforcement vehicles. Stricter security details are being shown at airports and train stations, and King Leonidus has recently approved of the "Homefront Protection" act which will allow for a new set of laws against immigration into Euralon.

So what is the military preparing for? War? Or is it just the reinforcement of a peaceful homefront? Euralon hasn't seen conflict in over 3 decades, and regional relationships couldn't be any stronger. So what could spark the MoD to contribute over 700 billion dollars in a time of such peace?

Titus Lentulus Julius claims victory in the games and named champion

Nova Roma, Aurelia-Legendary gladiator and crowd favorite Titus Lentulus Julli affectionally known to the crowds as ''Magnum pandens huc illuc'' has defeated previous reigning champion Viriatus in single combat and claimed the title of champion of the arenas as his own.

Crowd favorite Titus Lentulus Julius claimed victory this evening over previous reigning champion of the arenas in single combat during the primus of the 474th games of Nova Roma this evening.

This victory marks Titus' 107th victory in his careered and seventeenth victory by death. Viriatus was killed by a sword thrust to the abdomen and died of blood loss on the sands before paramedics could evacuate the mortally wounded gladiator. This match also marked Viriatus' 300th official bout in the games and his 18th and final loss in the arena. The fallen Viriatus had been reigning champion of the Republic for a total of sixteen matches all ending with deaths in the arena.

With this victory; Titus claims both a million denarius prize but also the title of ''Magna Champion'' and now leads the country in the gladiatorial rankings.

Julius' career in the arena has been a short but extremely entertaining from the beginning; promising and delivering both blood and victory in every match. The champion had his first bout back in 2008 in the lowly arena's of Cheyenne, Aurelia before working his way up through the ranks and earning a spot in the Primus of that city against ''Barbarus the Cruel'' in 2011. After defeating Barbarus and earning his first kill upon the sands; Titus jumped from city to city, primus to primus slaying all in his way and increasing his legend along the way until securing the Primus in Nova Roma and claiming the title of Chief Gladiator for himself

Titus,who fights in the stance of the Murmillo was pitted against former reigning champion Viriatus who fought in the style of the Dimachaerus in single combat in a match to be held 'sine missione'' or without mercy.'The bout lasted a total of seven minutes and fourteen seconds and was ended after Viriatus was disarmed and mortally wounded by a thrust of Titus' gladius to his abdomen.

As is customary; the new champion will embark on a one year, ''Et ambulate in gloria'' or ''walk of honor'' to both honor the fallen gladiators of this year as well as raise support for next years gladiatorial games.

This year's matches were funded in part by Wide Format Technology Systems a subsidiary of the Jennings and Rall corporation and Marcellus Valerus Junia who stands for election this year to the senate.

Eduardo Snow captured

Nova Roma, Aurelia-Government leaker Eduardo Snow was captured early this morning attempting to flee the Republic through he Aurelian-Andomonian border line.

Snow; a former government intelligence contractor and political attache to disgraced William Porter, formerly of the Federalist Party, leaked classified CIA documents that revealed a government sponsored surveillance program had been used illegally by members of Congress to illegally tap ,coerce and intimidate citizens of the Republic.

After releasing the classified documents detailing the government corruption and the intelligence community's complicity in said corruption; Snow fled from his post in the capital despite being wanted by the Federal Security Bureau for charges of espionage, treason, heft of government property, unauthorized communication of national defense information, and willful communication of classified intelligence to an unauthorized person.

Up until this point, Snow's whereabouts were unknown to the world and it was thought that he had already fled the country to seek asylum in places as far away as Woodstead or Aquitayne.

After returning to the FOB, it was later revealed after a routine blood analysis that one the captured assailants was indeed the Eduardo Snow; the man wanted in connection with the leaking of classified government documents last year.

Several sources within the Federal government have confirmed that the captured man is indeed Eduardo Snow and he is currently being held at a undisclosed location in preparation for his arraignment and later trial.

As a 'Fugitivus'' or fugitive of the Republic; Snow is no longer allowed the right to a jury trial of his peers to judge his guilt for the accused crimes but instead he is to be judged by civilian tribunal consisting of judges appointed by the local magistrate.

The ASDF has also revealed that the six-man patrol that captured Snow and his associates who are to be charged with attempted murder, harboring a fugitive and aiding a fugitive, would be splitting the 2.5 million denarii reward for Snow. The names of the members of the patrol have yet to be revealed for security reasons.

The apprehension of Eduardo Snow is a major highlight of the Marshall Administration and is likely to be a major factor in the upcoming Consular elections later this year.

Omega Energy signs agreement with Valyrian government

Nova Roma, Aurelia -State-owned Omega Energy signs multi-billion Aurei with Valyrian government this morning.

The state owned energy giant Omega Energy has signed a agreement with government of the Valyrian Empire to supply petroleum and natural gas at discounted prices in exchange for reduced tariffs and favorable tax consideration for Omega Energy subsidiaries operating within the Empire.

This deal has reportedly been in the works for several months now and only came to fruition after the collapse of the government of Skorzenia, Valyria's previous primary exporter of petroleum and petroleum products in the last few weeks, a event that reportedly sped up negotiations on the Valyrian side.

Omega has agreed to provide the Empire directly with over twelve million barrels of crude oil a month at subsidized prices courtesy of the A.S government a protocol demanded by Omega Energy for the first six months as it adjusts to the increased demand for it's oil on the international market.

Valyrian demand for petroleum has only increased since the conclusion of it's civil war almost a decade ago as it reasserts it's position in it's region and among the global community, a trend executives of Omega expect only to continue for the foreseeable future.

The A.S government is expected to make more than sixteen billion Aurei in the first year of the agreement in tax revenue and a addition twenty-two billion in profit from it's shares in Omega. Analysts project that if demand remains stable that profits for both the government and Omega are projected to increase by a minimum of two percent each year for five years before gradually decreasing to one percent in ten years.

The Marshall administration has already earmarked the increased revenue for investment by the state's investment engine in Acaema's infrastructure projects.

CABINET MINISTERS today attended a formal convention at Imberford City Hall Auditorium in Teaculture, hosted by Coalition of Architects and Civil Engineers, The Urban Development School at Imberford University, and Grand Southern University’s city planning research enterprise, Arghole.

The key speaker was the President of CoACE and award- winning architect Artis Chakrabarthi - Johnson, most famous for her work to design the new Tyne Town development in Norsylvania. Her message was clear- in order to accommodate for the future, building and living spaces need to change.

Chakrabathi- Johnson and her interior design partner, Sarah Carr, unveiled their new video which depicts a new type of home which consists of a few small rooms which can be adaptable for family life; in addition, they offered the statistics that about 70% of an Imberford street scene- even at night- will incorporate vehicles- the CoACE suggestion is that cities must be reformed like the house in order to tone down our everyday dependence on cars which, they say, could clear a total of 270 square miles for smart building across Imberford alone.
Another speaker was the Green Congress Party’s National Assembly Chairperson, Sterling Olavordorti who asserted that “public transport must be a focus”.

“CoACE tell us that cars clutter roads, garage walls wipe to much area out, and street signs for parking areas become ignored after time; we have debated that building up is not agreeable with 1 in 3 of us, and building out is a ticking time bomb. Parking cars must be taken seized from streets to clear for emergency vehicles and unloading. Focus on a more inclusive transport system and we all win, too!”

Both Arghole and The Urban Development school wrapped up a standing ovation as they unveiled their concept for the new town of Grangeheath- which will gain borough status in 2015 if finished. It was also welcomed in May by the National Farmers’ Union after concerns that urban development will oust the fields, whilst more people will empty the fields which are left. The public are yet to see it.

The two enterprises received a grant in 2013 for their hugely pedestrianized, multi-functional master-plan with green spaces, low buildings, sustainable living and some self-sufficient elements, too. Chakrabathi-Johnson and Carr are helping out with the Grangeheath project’s housing concept.

Carr explains “internal walls will move, rooms will possess multiple functions. Family living is becoming segregated, and it also happens in the city. Change the house to the home and change the city to the community-make it more compact, but inversely less dense”.

High street furniture retailers such as Micro and Sanctuary have already worked together on a scheme to assist this new way of life. The Ministers concerned with green-lighting the project also announced the need for change. Thanks to the flat-pack and pre-fab building techniques, Grangeheath will be able to open publicly as early as September with about 80 adaptable dwellings which are being assembled at three hangars at Oppidum Airport, and at four hangars at Edwards Aeroglobal Airport.

It is being done in other nations and cities- it is rather new for the Woodsteasian. We already embraced water butts and solar panels on our homes, then we embraced urban allotments again. Could this be the future or fad? Time will tell, but with distance and space becoming adaptable for this project, who knows if time will even stay the same itself?

Vitalita, ViZion - As we near the ViZionarian Presidential election, many claim this could be one of the most hotly contested elections in recent history. Among the front runners for their respective parties, Erik Champion (L), Baraka Maalouf (D), Mark Abdul (R), and James Hillmoore (C) are considered the top four candidates.

Baraka Maalouf is often cited as the favorite, however recently the powerful and loved Ando and Redmond families has put their support behind Erik Champion which seems to be having an impact and changing the front runner. Mark Abdul is also putting together strong support after two terms as governor of Astyria and a two-term senator. Early last night, the brave men and women of the Royal Kelonnan Navy intercepted an exchange between multiple foreign nationals. The exchange in question, came across as suspicious and for that reason, the Navy decided to investigate by recording their conversation from afar. What follows is this very recording.

The recording was stopped at this time, as the Captain of HMS Ascension decided to intervene. Two RHIBs were launched, and in a matter of minutes the deal was interrupted and the perpetrators were apprehended. The representative from the Navy had the following to say:

"The people we apprehended include two Aquitaynian nationals, and one person holding the Hagenau-an nationality. They are being processed as we speak, and will soon be tried for possession of illegal substances, attempting to smuggle said substances into the country, and dealing. The crew of the Ascension certainly earned their pay tonight"

As of yet, the governments of Aquitayne and Hagenau have not made any comments yet, and have refused to answer our questions. This was John Alexander, with the Royal News Network. Reporting from the capital city of our great country.

Unprecendented Snowstorm Deals Heavy Damage

In the past three weeks, an unprecedented 30cm of snow fell each day on average in the North of the nation, while Königsberg received its first snowfall in years. This was the first time in recorded Rombergian meteorology that there has been such heavy snow in the nation.

With the heavy snowfall, economic activity in the Realm ground to a halt. All 3 major airports had to be shut down, as well as the 2 main ports. Manufacturing in Ravenholm fell to an all-time low. The Jarlsberg pass was sealed due to heavy snowfall, and the Pavlovo Canal was also closed for safety reasons. This near-siege of the nation has hence led to an almost complete severing of the North and South of the nation, and engineers are busily working round the clock to re-open the Pass. Communications and electricity generation have been severely affected as well.

Elsewhere, avalanches have already claimed over 100 lives in just the last three days, and blizzards have caused more than 1000 car accidents in three Southern states alone. All Rombergian personnel have been recalled from abroad, and former conscripts are being recalled back to the barracks to assist in the rescue effort.

Fortunately, it is said that the weather would take a turn for the better in the future, although it may take many months before the economy of Romberg returns to normal. It is estimated that the economic toll incurred so far exceeds ◊ 250 billion. Researchers are unclear why such a snowstorm has occurred, although climate change has been hypothesized to be an important factor.

The Kaiser is Dead, Long Live the New Kaiser!

On the 4th of July, 2014, unfortunately our former Kaiser, Hans Jerkov II, has passed away due to complications surrounding an illness. He had been previously diagnosed with pneumonia and admitted to the Neustadt General Hospital in mid-may, possibly due to the enduring snowstorm.

A humanitarian and benevolent monarch, the former Kaiser was responsible for returning Romberg to its former glory as a significant world power, and had been the driving factor for the rapid growth and development in the nation for the last 20 years. He is survived by his wife, as well as a son and a daughter.

Under Rombergian tradition, the monarchy would not be passed down to the oldest child or the son, but instead to a member of nobility as nominated by the three Noble Houses and voted on by the Grand Council.

After three days of deliberation, Graf Johann Lenesov von Holmgard has been officially voted into power as the new Kaiser of the Imperial Realm of Romberg. He has indicated that he would want to be known as Kaiser Johann VI.

A career military officer, Kaiser Johann VI was born from modest means in a commoner family, and joined the military at the age of 16. Distinguishing himself in service, he rose through the ranks rapidly and became one of Romberg's youngest Field Marshals ever, commanding a military campaign in a foreign land. Following this, he was ennobled with the title of Graf, and retired to pursue a career in diplomacy. He then thus was the person responsible for the nation's successful campaign in joining the region of Astyria, a feat which is celebrated annually on "Union Day". We wish Kaiser Johann VI all the best in his future endeavours, and we hope that he shall lead our nation to continued glory.

DRIVING THE CITY CRAZY

THE NINETIES marked a decline for industry in the cities of Woodstead and possibly the largest added insult for some was the privatisation of the rail, postal services, and more- many of which have been re-nationalised. However, even in that era of sell, sell, sell, one brand managed to cling on Steedcraft Motors Group, which began many years ago in the town of Canterbury, Steedcraft.

However, later on even Steedcraft showed it was heavily routed on tarmac when the government privatised and slowly subsidises until the 2002 government cut it all together. This meant that there was no mass-produced car remotely from the nation- and with Steedcraft gone, every assembly line was gone. Chilling footage reminisces about that day when thousands walked out in aprons and overalls from the largest Steedcraft Plant in Oppidum on the Grand Water site- where families were waiting to hear about the repayments.

Grand Water was also crumbling that day- "was built in 1961 and the world had changed into a decluttering, ruthless machine. The facilities and buildings at the site were elaborate and thrifty", as Sylvester Joplin recounts as the head of the latest project to get it back to top standard. In 2008, several businesses had lobbied to make sure that Grand Water had a future--- and they won, and 2016 will bring the finished final phase; most of it is already finished.

We may not manufacture much, but Joplin and Minister for Economic Affairs, Solveig Vilhelmsdottir both agree: autos are the motion which keep manufacturing here alive.

INDEPENDENTLY SCREWED?

WITH the referendum on independence having taking place in April, you would think that the campaigners would be cooling off a month later. It was revealed this morning by The Upper Court that the results will be undergoing thorough scrutiny over a whistle-blower last week alleged that he was paid by the Stay Together campaign to vote on side with them to make sure that Cez-Zaeri (popularly known in Woodstead as Cezary) would stay part of Woodstead.

Since 1771, Cez-Zaeri has been under some extent of Woodsteasian / Erlen powers after colonisation; Cez-Zaern people have been under some recognition as what is refered to as Woodsteasian Populace. Since 2005, the state has only been under protectorate status to assist it in to a more suitable level of autonomy. After the fall of the Erlen Republics in 2012/2013, the new government called on new independence referenda for Anglo-Astyrian nations and Cez-Zaeri. Oceanport, Leuthania, and Cobustine all voted out, but instead began a trilateral union of states. Duartistan also could join them in June.

Libetta voted hugely in favour to stay with Woodstead- a welcome choice by many in Woodstead, and weeks later, the people of Cez-Zaeri supposedly supported the same alignment. At the time, it was seen as a rebuttal from the lemon-bitter independence campaign when news coverage showed little happiness in the result.

However, one man who wishes not to be named, has filed a case against the Stay Together management after he alleges that he was given incentives at a time he was "very desperate" for money. It was his thought that it was the individual person who was offering the bribe but the Electoral Society was notified of another allegation. The President and Prime Minister have expressed their worries and have called a brief National Assembly recession to make sure that any possible vested interests will be away from the Attorney General's Office through the door.

Since the raised alarm, several more claimants have come through, and a warrant has been issued for the campaign offices and their online records. Libettan National Council's spokesperson has stated that ruling of corruption could mean that the Governor to Libetta will also ask for a less urgent inquiry into their independence- although many have trusted Libettan results to be genuine.

Head Justices of the Upper Court have released a statement which conveys the need for swift investigations, stating that "no stone will be left unturned- within the campaign, the government, and beyond". Update 1 - MORE EVIDENCE FOR THE ONGOING CASE
28/05/2014 - The fifth hearing at the Upper Courts has taken place today, and the Prime Minister has announced the intention for a re-opening of the National Assembly.

Furthermore, Special Investigation Team of Peacehaven Capital Police in Cez-Zaeri have recovered evidence of three ballot boxes which were emptied of votes. The boxes were found at the offices of the Stay Together campaign. A former fellow campaigner of the three on trial has today revealed evidence on a bargain of a reduced sentence, if found guilty. The evidence, we are told, is a disc including 3,000 names on a spreadsheet- some of which are people giving evidence.

The spokesman for Peacehaven Capital Police has today claimed that contact will be made to the individuals listed. This makes for compelling evidence, since it was also revealed that the Electoral Society were able to recover the classified voting outcomes to the police, to reveal whether or not they were compliant with the bribe.

It has become apparent that the names were targeted in 2013 through a rather satirical group on the FriendLink social network, administrated from an account alleging to be from Peacehaven City University. The group was made for people indifferent to the campaigns, humourously naming itself Woodstead & Cez-Zaeri: Married, Kids, and Having Affairs.

Update 2 - GUILTY VERDICT, RECOVERED VOTES, AND INDEPENDENCE ON THE CARDS
04/06/2014 - The identities of the bribed have been kept private throughout this rather short and unprofessionally-concealed issue. Today, President Moore apologised to Cez-Zaern people in particular for "gross mishandling of electoral freedom".

Campaign managers, Frank Burton, Meyer Grove, and Shepheard Jones were sentenced to 12 years each in prison under the charges of Manipulation and Distortion of Electoral Results, Denying Democratic Procedure, and Electoral Bribery- and will not be allowed near civil service mechanisms. The staff member who complied with the management and provided evidence, Queenie Artiss, has been sentenced to 2 years in an open prison for Association and Compliance to Manipulate Electoral Results. The money in the bribe was never paid to the people concerned among a 50 Credit bribe which acted as a deposit. The money will be recovered by a court order.

The Electoral Society has recovered the records and now tilts the scales to independence. Peacehaven politicians and the President have agreed that a debate will be in the Parliament of Cez-Zaeri to honour the seemingly growing face of an Independent Cezary / Cez-Zaeri. As this happens, the provisional new constitution of an independent state has been scrutinised to make sure that if independence prevails, the people will have their rights. If this happens, a transitional cabinet will be set up.

Update 3 - CEZARY SHOWING ITS TRUE COLOURS
28/06/2014 - What a last few weeks it has been for the politicians of Woodstead and the people of Cezary (or Cez-Zaeri). The announcement came fresh from all top bananas across both Woldland and Peacehaven have announced that The Protectorate will now be The Republic of Cezary or The Cez-Zaern Republic---simply Cez-Zaeri. Cez-Zaern Ministers today launched a panel to introduce a new flag and identities. The Lorega, the currency since 2005, will remain, it is said.

The First Minister will be giving his power to transitional cabinet of academics and citizens, guided by Woodsteasian officials from the legal profession. An agreement was today signed to make sure that the military resurgence of Woodstead and the establishment of a new armed forces would be gradual. The Parliament has dissolved for now.

In Woldland today, Theresa Fairgarden, the Minister for The Protectorate was demoted, but will be observing the transitional cabinet with an ad-hoc committee in Woodstead. Governor Georg Karlsson will be another observer when he steps down at midnight of 20 July.

Experts claim that the independence process will last for another ten years, but many of the superficial and constitutional changes will be in action possibly by September. An office for President and Prime Minister is expected- modelled off constitution of The Republic; however, the provisions set out by the pro-independence campaign also debates a collective head of state and a Prime Minister.

It is not yet clear what the repercussions are, but we do know that there will be a function held at Woodstead's Unity Mall, Libetta's Ango-Astyria Boulevard, and at Peacehaven Square in Cez-Zaeri. It will be to celebrate what will be known as Pacification Day on 18 July- a pre-independence day if you like. A private ball will be held at the same time in the Parliament building with the Anglo-Astyrian, Woodsteasian, and Cez-Zaern governments on the list.

Update 4 - SUITED. BOOTED.
16/07/2014 - The relatively new city of Peacehaven is today flying a new flag in preparation for the Pacification Day festivities. The transitional cabinet have today announced that "any anti-independence political agenda needs to be left at home", as the streets get kitted out and closed and will reopen on Saturday. A musical line-up was published this morning for the three locations- including all from current pop to previous counter-culture icons. Over the last two hours, the new national motto has been plastered across presses and pixels- "Pursue Progress".

Senate allows military court martial of Eduardo Snow

Nova Roma, Aurelia -The Senate of the People and government of Rome has passed a motion allowing the military court martial of accused traitor, Eduardo Snow to move forward.

Eduardo Snow who was thrust into the international spotlight last year after releasing classified documents onto the internet that not only revealed secret government programs that spied of citizens of the republic but that political officials with some holding office as far up as a the senate used those programs to influence voters and spy on political rivals.

After leaking the documents; Snow disappeared from the world until late may of this year when he was captured attempting to flee the country with several still unnamed associates into Andomonia.

Since his capture, Snow has been a flashpoint in Roman politics with many calling for a open trial before the senate to uncover any lingering misconduct among the nation's highest legislative body. Others insist that Snow's supposed betrayal is a military matter and therefore not the jurisdiction of the Senate in any case. Regardless; the Senate has voted to stay out of the trial all together by giving the ASDF the go ahead to proceed with court martial as soon as possible.

Consul Marshall has also declined to comment on this event though a senior staffer in Nova Roma had this to say, '' [The] Consul is extremely happy the senate has backed off the Snow issue as it gives his administration time to prepare for the upcoming election by turning this embarrassment into a victory.''

Snow himself has been been in solitary confinement since his capture however his military counselor has affirmed that Snow is in good spirits and is looking forwards to his case finally going to trial.

THEODORA SIGNS "GREAT CHARTER OF LIBERTIES!"

Alexandropolis, 26.08.2014 - Today, Empress Theodora signed new charter, which had to stabilize political order since violent transition from constitutional to absolute monarchy few months earlier. The Charter, called in Greek Μεγάλη ελευθερίες κάρτα (Megáli̱ elef̱theríes kárta) is supposed to define all rights of People in Thomaion, as well as establishing the new law system based on Roman law. Charter was called by Theodora "A way to secure eternal and God-Given rights of people of Thomaion, which were granted them by Jesus himself, and which shall last as long as the empire shall last". Empress Theodora also stated that the laws are to "provide order in County which is still not yet in order".

The idea of signing the new document which shall clarify the order in the state - which is still somewhere without order because of removal of Socialist regime. Because of General Likaros's abolishing the constitution on the Empress's orders. The county existed without any formal documents for several months. First idea to write a document which would guarantee the rights of Thomai citizens was proposed by Gen. Likaros, who is now Consul (Yptos) of Thomaion two weeks ago, where he proposed that a new document should be drafted to secure rights of Thomai Citiens. Since then, appointed by him group of lawyers and polticians were drafting the new charter of rights, which was today signed by Empress herself.

The charter begins with calling God and Christ to help uphold the values he established and on which this laws are based. It is divided in 4 parts. First part is about Citiznen's basic rights; granted rights include: freedom of belief ( with including the fact that Orthodox church is majority religion should be respected ), freedom of education, freedom of Speech. Controversial is lack of freedom of sexual education, according to Empress Theodora it was not included because homosexuals shall not get any right in Thomaion. The rights include also removal of any form of slavery, and freedom of any political orientation with exception of Socialist ideologies. Next parts describe how courts in Thomaion shall operate, structure of courts as well as duties of Empress and her successors to the people, including regulation of elections.

This is first of new series of documents which shall be ratified by Senate and the Empress soon. Empress declared that next document, which will be specifications on political order and rules of electing the Emperor is being drafted at the moment and shall appear soon.
