Yeah, maybe, I think what he's shooting for is the story being told in a poetic fashion that's similar to Shakespeare's telling of a story, unless I'm way the fuck out in left field.
EDIT: I see what you mean now, that style could work too, something interesting if someone tried it would be to use something likes Poe's poetry.

That would be a good twist. If they are shooting for something more classical they could use poetry in the style of the Illyad or the Odyssey by Homer to achieve the storytelling effect in a very greek-classical way.

I would be highly interested. The Age of Sail is a period in history I would love to RP.
