INTERVENTION BILL REACHES ASSEMBLY
Deployment expected soon
The National Assembly in session
XINJING - The 111 Skorzenia Peace-Keeping Deployment Bill has left the National Defense Committee and will appear before the National Assembly tomorrow as its first order of the day's business.
The bill, which authorizes the National Defense Force to immediately move into the Skorzenian protectorate of New Detroit and restore the authority of the provisional governments of Bolviana, Vuzuenela, and others, was introduced in committee three days ago.
The bill was authored by MA. Peng Kaixin (D-Chengzhou/4), who described the bill as 'a necessity.'
"We have labored under the shadow of Skorzenian threat for twenty years," the member said. "Now that the opportunity presents itself, we must take the matter in hand."
The bill was co-authored by Army Field Marshall Jing Qiliang, whom committee member Gu Pingguo (D-Sujiang) described as 'giving valuable advice about the abilities and dispositions of the armed forces.'
The bill has, however, met with some opposition. Committee member Kong Changzheng (SD-Gaoshan/3) went on record as calling the bill "a bad idea."
"We do not need to involve ourselves in this. This is a problem we don't need. I did not vote for the bill in committee and I will not vote for it on the Assembly floor."
