In and above the waters around the Beachhead

The Kidlantian frigates launched 50 of their missiles at the remnants of the enemy fleet. 300 other missiles were launched at the Kengburgians. Some would be shot down by the Iron Dome, but the sheer number of missiles could overwhelm their army. They were conventional weapons, not full of mustard gas or other WMDs. The Shadoplis' heavy armor protected it from destruction, but it was damaged nevertheless. The K.N.S Olympus was the one that was targeted by the enemy's planes, however, after some damage, the ship's SAM crews started firing back while the Kidlantians launched the 'Sparrowhawks', some of them to shoot down the Inyourfaceistani aircraft, the others to deliver a deadly mix of smart bombs and cluster bombs to the Kengburgians. After that they would join the air fight over the beachhead.

A Kidlantian Landing Craft

"Alright, full speed!"The Kidlantian captain was speeding the landing craft ahead so that the SM could attempt to avoid the battles in the sea. Where the SM were, a screen turned on with Field Marshal Stallworth's prerecorded video on it. "You, 60,000 of the SM, have been chosen to fight because you are the best of the best of the best. You've spent 3 years sleeping for 2 hours out on the dirt, and then having to forage for your own food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You were punished if you took one toe out of line, and it has made you one of the best fighting forces in the world.Intel from the battle lines shows that the Kengburgians are attempting to form a kill-box around the Ruskyetians. Your mission: Destroy the attempt to create the kill-box, and assist Kidlantian forces in flanking the Kengburgians. Good luck." With that the screen turned off, and the landing craft hit a bump. They had landed. The SM were ready to fight to the death.

The beachhead

Johstan looked around the battlefield again. The flank was going well at the moment, with 15,000 troops managing to escape from the area most of them were in. The M1A2 Abrams had been almost destroyed, with only 20 left. The HAT-1s and Ironhearts had missile defense systems, although an occasional lucky shot would knock one out. He saw the SM land and was relieved. He had heard stories about them before. The were one of the best fighting forces ever developed. Napalm B was still burning around them, roughly 5,000 had died from the fires because they were right near the water, and many dived into it to saved themselves from becoming Winter Day dinner. The SM had landed in an area where relatively no fighting had occurred at all and quickly ran over to the Ruskyetian forces. There, they began to shred the Kengburgian ranks. The SM's training had payed off indeed.

Kidlantis City

The old government chamber provided an ideal spot to debate the future of the Ruskyet. So,that's why Xavier Lee had The War Cabinet, the Supreme Council, and The Senate Defense Committee meet in there at 9 AM. Some said that they should end fighting. Some said they should switch sides to prevent further capitalists dying. Some thought they should attack Kengburg and raze it's cities. By 10:30 PM, the president had made his decision, and moved into the president's old office to sign a few bills. At 10:50 PM, the television programs were interrupted by the president's speech. "All of you know by now that the Federation is fighting a war to free Ruskyet from Kengburgian aggression. Today, we have debated the future of that conflict. I have came up with a decision. 10 divisions, or 100,000 men, are going to be transferred from the War over Lauaj to Ruskyet. 5 units, or 5,000 men from the Elite HALO Paradrop division are going to Ruskyet. You all know that the Kidlantian Military has over 2 million troops in reserve. Most of them are from the Army. I will bring up 500,000 troops from the reserve to win the battle of the beachhead. This war was considered just police action, until now, after thousands have died. Now, I have skipped over war and have declared Total War upon Kengburg and Inyourfaceistan. Now, I have countries to speak to. Ruskyetian president, make the villains fight for your capital. Ryaanistan and Conradines, I don't know if I can stress this enough to you, but We Need Your Help Now! Michelle Bordeaux, if you are watching, give up. Further resistance from a force much bigger then your own will cause the Kengburgian families more pain. Inyourfaceistan, we have detected your task force. I advise you to not continue your movements, as we have already sunk one task force with our allies, and we do not want to destroy it further if not necessary. Long live the Federation!"

This speech took a half-hour.

The Iron Dome fired off its counter missiles into the sky, stopping many of the Kidlantian cruise missiles. Needless to say, some still managed to fall through, causing much havoc on the attacking armor and artillery positions.

Like crazed dogs, the enemies hit the frontline units left exposed on the battlefeild. They killed a large fraction, and many more retreated to the machinegun nests above the beach. Enemy armor had destroyed more tanks, and now smouldering armored carcasses seemed to fall behind their comrades pushing forward.

Michelle pulled up her radio and held it to her mouth.
"The fools are attempting a break out. Crush them."
The Kengurbian commanders all echoed:
"Yes, Ma'am! For the Republic! For Freedom!"
Inyourfaceistani commander Victor Santoli replied:
"With pleasure..." as he watched his burning ships make their final stand.

They had softened the enemy, forced him to the waters edge, burned holes in him. Thousands upon thousands of Kidlantian soldiers now stood shoulder-to-shoulder awaiting annihilation at the hands of Kenburgian machine guns. Like giant boulders reaching the bottom of the hill the IFV's and T-84's came to a complete halt, alongside a small number of Inyourfaceistani YT-2 Crocodile's and M1A2 Abrams. Prepared to hold their ground they began to lay round after round into the rest of the Kidlantian armor, using sabot rounds to target the armor and canister rounds to blast apart the compressed enemy.

Like the silent clockwork of death ten thousand Humvee armored patrol cars moved down the hillside to the edge of the beach. By now another form of oddly dressed Kidlantian soldiers had crammed themselves into the already over-crowded beachhead, and these units attacked the infantry with great ferocity, but it would be in vain. Alongside the gunners on the tanks, the Humvees unleashed hell with their 50 caliber machine guns, like molten yellow rain spraying down on the enemy, capable of peircing light-armored vehicles. They also continued their strategy of lobbing flames into the enemy forces, as wicked orange splurges jumped from the IFV's...

To aid the remaining Inyourfaceistani attack helicopters, the thirty Eurocopter Tigers were deployed from the airfeild, and also began to fire rocket pods into the giant wriggling mass that was the trapped enemy soldiers. As usual, AA fire targeted the enemy aircraft with everything they could, however the battle in their air was neither as advantageous as the one on the beach nor as desperate as the on in the sea.

On the flanks, the combined infantry and armor forces held their ground. They realized their enemy were borderline phsycopaths, attacking with machetes, and stayed back the spray them with automatic fire for their rifles and SMGs as the armored units lobbed tank shells into their lines.

And now the final moment of destruction. The crews of the artillery guns above all coordinated their exact aming. Similar to the American strategy at Khe-San, they all fired a perfectly horizontal line in the farthest rear concentration of the enemy. They adjusted their targets, and fired a little bit closer. And another. And another. The guns were being used like a mop. Each horizontal barrage engulfing a large linear area, moving slowly closer each volley, forcing the enemy soldiers into the awaiting wall of lead...

As the Ruskyetan ace crashed himself into the IC-98 Missile frigate he hit directly as a tomahawk cruise missile was launching into the sky. The plane hit the missile, causing it to explode before it had even cleared the deck, blowing a massive hole the ship and effectively crippling it.

A lucky shot from the battleship was able to destroy the surfaced Eseti recon submarine, and blew it up almost instantly. However, the two remaining Cordoba gunboats continued to zigzag around in the surf as they fired their autocannons into the enemy on the beach.

A Kenburgian Karel Doorman frigate that was firing onto the beach was struck by the guns of the Kidlantian battleship, causing it to take on water. The carrier "Los Serpesi" had launched the last of its aircraft, realizing their job was done, Admiral Sarillo ordered the large ship be moved around as a large sheild to protect the remaining "Garuda" AA frigates. Needless to say, it also took the majority of the missiles the Kidlantians fired at the remaining fleet that hadn't been destroyed but the lingering Patriot missiles, effectively destroying it...

Barely surviving the enemy's assault, the few ships left standing prepared to fight to the last bullet. The two IC-121 Garuda AA frigates still did their best to fill the air with anti-air fire, firing every type of Surface-to-Air missile possible, burning the sky with their massive 30mm cannons and throwing up flak in every lane of sky not occupied by friendly aircraft. The last Sovremeny the last Bolic'edi, and the two remaining Udaloy unleashed another blast of cruise missiles, mainly at the "Shadoplis", hoping to finish it off for good, but some of the escort frigates were also targeted.

The last Type-60 combat submarine crashed into the underside of the battleship "Olympus", and exploded a few seconds after impact. However, the damage to the Kidlantian battleship was unknown to the remaining surface ships, as the entire Kamikazae crash occurred underwater.

Keeping with their strategy, the two Cordoba gunboats moved back and forth in erratic and agile motion, as they drilled into the enemy soldiers trapped on the beach. Now, the remaining Kenburgian Karel Doorman frigate moved shoreward to help bombard the enemy with its naval guns.

The enemy's AA fire and engagements were very effective in destroying a large portion of the remaining Inyourfaceistani aircraft. Eighteen more F-18's had fallen, twelve more IEK-88's were destroyed by the enemy, two F-22's had been destroyed by lucky AA fire, and ten A-6 had gone down in their raid of the enemy battleship.

While the battle in the water was inevitabley going to end soon, the battle in the skies was no where near finished. Retaliating with unspoken furry, the F-18's and IEK-88's continued to duck and weave as they engaged the enemy aircraft at every turn. F-22's roamed the outskirts of the battle like sharks, using their stealth to sneak in on an unsuspecting target, then relying on their almost unmatched dogfighting abilities to finish the kill. The Su-47 interceptors blew through the skies at lighting speed, firing off missiles at any enemy unlucky enough to get in their way.

Remaining dedicated to their mission, the remaining A-6 Intruders came back around for a second strike on the battleship "Olympus". Some kept low and targeted its lower portion with torpedoes, while others flew high and targeted it with guided smart bombs.

The "Neige Luno" commandos were slowly begining to go about their business; by day they hid in the most unthinkable locations, by night they trained the rebel guerrillas how to fight like professional soldiers.

While the elite Inyourfaceistani unit had managed to smuggle in a few M-14 rifles, Type-88 LMGs, and Ak-3MI's, a national reproduction of the Ak-103; they had found that the opposition fighters were quite crafty when it came to hiding their own weapons. One man showed them how he had hiden a shotgun and two pistols wrapped in a water proof tarp underneath a fallen tree, another removed the basebrick from his fire place to reveal a hunting rifle.

For the time being, the commandos were training them to shoot by using silencers to avoid detection, and having them run make-shift obstacle courses through village streets and backwoods hillsides...

The Beachhead


The Kidlantians were in an extremely dire situation. They had four options. Be destroyed, surrender, retreat, or win. Since the first two were unbearable and the fourth seemed unlikely, they had chosen the third. Thousands had died attempting to flee. However, 50,000 Kidlantians were away from the battle lines, waiting for the reinforcements, somewhere safe. He had seen the Kengburgian forces begin to shoot at them. He decided to finish of the forces that were close enough to keep them from escaping. For hours, brave Kidlantian explosive engineers had been wiring Industrial-grade TNT to explode in Inyourfaceistan's face. (Okay, bad joke.) The TNT was all set up to explode . "CONTACT!" yelled an engineer, and the TNT exploded. That was the cue. The remaining 180,000 troops on the beachhead ran for their lives. Thousands died as enemy fire rained down on them. But a good-sized amount would make it. The howitzers, SAMs, anti-tank weapons, and tanks were haphazardly evacuated. Johstan himself was hit by a bullet in his knee, but that wouldn't stop anybody from making it to the site designated for evacuation. After another 30,000 died, the rest managed to make away from the battle. Johstan looked back towards the battlefield with fury. Once the reinforcements arrived, the third battle would begin, the Federation's full military resources focused on the battle. The remaining forces were (Not including air and naval forces):

He grinned when he remembered the order the president had given Tyushimi that morning:

Xavier Lee: Tyushimi, I want you to destroy the Iron Dome. It can't shoot down all missiles that are heading towards it. Just send a lot of cruise missiles at it, and we should be fine. That is the only thing keeping us from bombing the DNA out of the Kengburgians. Also, the mustard gas should be gone by now, right?


The Waters off Ruskyet

"The reinforcements are arriving Friday. I want the skies and waters cleared by then." That was the second command that Tyushimi had gotten. The Kidlantian carrier had taken damage, along with the battleship, but both were still floating. Kidlantian Sparrowhawks came back from their raid to engage the enemy aircraft. the Mig29s fought the F-22s with great ferocity, some exploding and pilots ejecting into the ocean. A single pilot flew into the exploding TNT, which ignited it. It flew into the Kengburgian troop ranks, and exploded. The escort frigates lost 5 of their number. Meanwhile, the frigates prepared for Operation Fzenvigent Grwevoirtron, which was a good code-name as no one that wasn't Kidlantian could pronounce it. It was Trantonian for 'Destroy the Iron Dome.' The Kidlantian missiles were launched at the Iron Dome, and 50 were fired at the Iron Dome. Some were shot down.

--------------- Ruskyet, Beachhead ----------------

The Kenburgian forces had taken roughly 5,000 casualties, the vast majority of them injuries due to their successful repulsion of the enemy. However, some had been killed when a Kidlantian fighter crashed into their lines. The Inyourfaceistani marines had taken a minuscule number wounded, but then again their current force was minuscule in comparison to everyone elses.

As the Kidlantian landing craft and amphibious vessels plowed away from shore, infantry rushed forward, and fired shoulder-launched rockets into their backs (not sure what kind of rocket these forces from Kenburg use), and a few Inyourfaceistani marines aided to the fire with simple RPG-7v2 rockets. To their disadvantage, the TNT had created a large trench in the beach, partially filling with water, that had to be crossed before being able to effectively fire at the fleeing forces. However, the Eurofighter Tigers and Ka-52 Hokum attack helicopters were not obviously not impeded by this obstacle, and continued to blast the retreating forces with rocket pods and automatic cannon fire.

Now pumping out large volumes of smoke, the two IC-121 "Garuda" AA frigates continued to make the skies a living hell for enemy aircraft. Since the carrier had just gone down, it appeared the Kidlantians were ignoring the remaining six Inyourfaceistani and four Kenburgian naval vessels. Needless to say, the beleaguered forces did not take this last stroke of grace for granted; rather they struck back with everything they had. The combined four destroyers gave off their last salvo of cruise missiles, directed at the carrier "Olympus". As the enemy retreated from the beach, the Cordoba gunboats abandoned their task of pumping cannons into them, and instead laid a salvo of torpedoes into the side of the battleship "Shadoplis". The remaining Karel Doorman frigate engaged another unnamed Kidlantian frigate with both missiles and it's deck gun.

The aircraft continued to battle in the skies, and despite heavy losses and almost certain destruction, was going very well for the Intoirfaceistani pilots. Another twelve F-18's had fallen prey to enemy fire, and seven more IEK-88 succumbed to the sweet sleep of destruction, along with four F-22's and another five A-6. However, the rest continued to dogfight as they had before, banking and jerking, and dismaying their enemies whenever they can.

They had beyond enough fight left in them for another strike, and did so with great ferocity. All available aircraft were engaging the enemy in one way or another. The F-18's were acting as the standard multi-role fighter, and attacking both ships and aircraft, while the F-22's fought their slightly outmatched foes with intent to own the skies. A small number of A-6 Intruders remained, and they made one final stand against the battleship "Olympus", as they dived in and dropped their last guided bombs down on it. The advanced Su-47 interceptors had surprising had little attention paid to them as they came in fast and laid barrages of missiles into their enemies. Back and forth, in and out of the battle they came, doing their best to help their comrades tied up against the enemy forces...

Roughly five miles inland, all was quiet, for now. Scouts reported and thermal sattelite images had confirmed that the Ruskyetans were holding their ground. The Kengurgians on the line dug in, and created make-shift machine gun nests and tank traps. They were also ordered and fully prepared to stand their ground, for the time being...

A young female intellegence officer walked briskly down the hall. Her feet made a loud clacking noise against the marble for as she moved past soldiers, spies and support staff alike. She came to a large office and entered.
"Colonel Ferndino, Sir, important news."
"Yes, what is it?" The man turned around, his eyes wide blue and his facial hair aging before his head, like a younger version of the Dos Equis guy.
"Combined intellegence personel have located the source of the Ruskyet bombings."
"What? Please, continue."
"G-Tech. We beleive it was an Agent of the G-Tech corporation who planted the bomb that started the Ruskyet conflict."
"An agent of G-Tech? Are you sure?"
"87.64% positive. National Intellegence Agency, Secret Defense Service and multiple private sources have all pointed to G-Tech as the most likely culprit."
"I see, this is good news. Who are you again?"
"Lueitenant Romona Chavier, NIA."
"Good work, I'll see what I can do about throwing more pass on your collar."
"Thank you, sir." She said as she exited the room.

Colonel Ferndino then picked up the phone and dialed the Presidents office. After a brief jump-around between palace secretaries and SDS personel, he was finally connected with President Jack Peresque.
"What is it, Colonel?"
"Mr. President, we have found the G-Tech corporation as the likely culprit of the Ruskyet bombings. I am asking your permission to submit this information to the military leaders and press outlets as the official statement of our government."
"How sure are we? I don't give a shit what other countries think of us, but I want fascist and socialist worm-rats to laugh at us and take us as a joke when they should be shitting bricks that our nation even knows their name..."
"We are 87.64% positive. We throw this information out onto the world stage the Ruskyetan government looses every ounce of sympathy they have received against the rebels, and it brings us down to a level playing feild so far as "moral high ground" is concerned."
"Fine. I'll make a press release within the hour. I want you to wire this information to the brass as soon as possible."

Official Inyourfaceistani Press Release

Early this morning, the tireless work of various intellegence agencies of our great nation has been compiled, and we have found with almost certainty the culprit of the terrible and unjustifiable attacks against Ruskyet. The free-market opposition is not to blame for these wicked events, and despite our previous suspicions, neither is the regime; rather this is the work of an agent of the G-Tech corporation. We do not know the motives, nor whether they were operating under the direct authority of the G-Tech, but we do know they were responsible.

This being said, I urge the government of Kidlantis to withdraw forces from Ruskyet, as their involvement is little more than dogmatic aggression against opposing political veiws. I will not ask the Ruskyetan forces to stand down on their own land, as I would hope they expect us not to do the same. It is my understanding that the Kenburgian government wishes for a Two-State solution, and I officially place the support of the Inyourfaceistani Executive branch in agreement with the Kenburgians, and urge the legislative branches to do the same.

The Inyourfaceistani fleet moved at pace toward the coast of Ruskyet. They had gotten involved with this place as observers, and now they were supporting a friendly nation and possible ally. However, if things continued to deteriorate the way they had been, a declaration of war was likely coming...

Aboard the carrier "Les Wassi" (The Wasp) Admiral Peire Sanchez looked through his binoculars at the wide oceans around them. As the mass of ships cut through the surf, it appeared they were alone.
"Kidlantian state media claimed they had a fleet headed this way. Apparently their president threatened to destroy us." Admiral Sanchez said.
"Oh did they? Like that's gonna happen." General Hugo LeFont, an army commander on board the carrier for the time being, replied.
"Well if there is a Kidlantian fleet out there, best to keep our gaurd up."
"You don't think it's just hapless rhetoric?"
"No. While the Kidlantians sure have no qualms about loosing upwards of two-hundred thousand men in what may go down as one of the most poorly-thought out invasions ever; they are neither liars nor cowards. I fully beleive them when they threaten to destroy us."
"Well, I guess your right. Unlike half the nations in this conflict, the Kidlantains are one of the few to put their money where their mouth is. Even if that includes attempting to fight machine gun nests with machettes..."
"Captain! I want an AWACs launched. Send up an interceptor patrol along with it."

A few minutes later a single AWACs aircraft took off from "Les Wassi", following behind it were sixteen Su-47 interceptors. The planes all headed into the sky, searching in the opposite direction that the fleet had came from. Considering Inyourfaceistani ships entered the Ruskyetan waters from a different direction than Kidlantian vessels, there was no need to check behind them, as any vessels would have been detected already.

Meanwhile, below the surface, the fleet's single Eseti-class recon submarine began to search the oceans for signs of hostiles. It moved back and forth in a zigzag C-shaped motion, every time it repeated the sub moved further and further away from the fleet, it's long-range radar scanning both the surface above and anything joining it beneath the surface...

K.N.S Shadoplis
Staremodus looked at the sinking ship that was his. He decide that if he was going to go down, he was going to go down with the Udaloy-class destroyer. He ordered his ship to ram the Udaloy- class destroyer. The "16 inch guns, one of which had been knocked-out, bravely fired at where the Kengburgian naval forces were expected to be while it was on its way. When it reached the destroyer, the ship was almost submerged. There was a large crash noise as the Shadoplis made its last fight. The engine of the Shadpolis then exploded, and for over Kidlantian 700 men and women, including Admiral Staremodus, the world fell silent as death embraced them.

First Battle of the Beachhead's waters
The commander of the Olympus Edison Nicholas Menley, was almost certain the carrier would sink as he saw the cruise missiles heading towards his ship. "JAM THEM NOW!" he yelled to men on board. Most of them missed, and Phalanx CIWS guns from a nearby destroyer took out all but 2, and the Olympus was able to withstand that damage. Recovering from their brief moment of ignorance, the Kidlantians snapped into action. 5 destroyers, realizing that they were not being targeted, fired their naval guns at the remaining Bolic'edi and Karel Doorman destroyer. The random frigate that the was targeted was destroyed, however the 18 frigates that remained fired 30 cruise missiles at the Kengburgian Humvees. One of them also fired 7 missiles at one of the IC-121 AA frigates. 6 Kidlantian attack submarines, 23 of which remained, fired torpedoes on the Inyourfaceistani frigates. About 4 surfaced for a few minutes to have crew members climb out and and shoot AK-47s at the Kengburgians, however they quickly submerged after 5 crewman were killed from return fire. The Shadoplis's sister ship the Ravenia fired upon the remaining Kengburgian Naval Forces. Admiral Tyushimi took off his admiral's hat in respect for the many who died on the ship's. "Such courage and valor have been shown by all of us. It's a shame we're fighting each other. he thought. He sighed. They would have little time to savor their almost inevitable victory, as he had heard of the second enemy fleet approaching.

The skies above the beachhead
The remaining 450 Mig29s kept on fighting for their country, as they continued to fire at the F-18s, the IEK88s, Su47s, and A-6 Attack craft. Air Commander Endrak made a note to make more varied attacks in the future. To add to enemy causalities on the ground, he gave an unusual command a half-hour ago. "Every plane that is crashing shall attempt to pilot themselves into the Kengburgian ranks. Since then, 20 more Migs were shot down. 15 had successfully piloted themselves into the Kengburgians, 2 had just blown up when shot down, and 3 had chickened out and ejected. The responsibility of shooting down the F-22s was the 'Sparrowhawk's', however Mig29s were instructed to shoot down any of them if they came across them. As a side note, 42 Sparrowhawks remained.

Land

About 372 were killed due to the attack of the RPGs and helicopters. Johstan instructed 7 Mobile SAMs to hold their ground against the helicopters. 20 Sparkies were told to hold ground to, and they fired at those that carried RPGs. 5 Sparkies were destroyed along with at least 3 SAMs, after those losses, those Kidlantians retreated. A unit of 1,000 men were told to charge at the Kengburgians, although they were sure to all be killed. They fired their AK-47s at the Kengburgians in hopes of distracting them. The Kidlantians retreated for more than 20 miles into Ruskyetian controlled territory. Johstan looked at the forest that surrounded them. This territory would favor the Kidlantians, as an assault into the forest would have the enemy advancing through rough terrain. He wondered how the Kidlantian unit was doing. The unit, although it had lost 600 troops, was going to fight to the death. On the flanks the SM fired LA-16 Laceros, while some of their comrades attacked with machetes. The SM had lost 8,000, however, they were the SM, they fought to the death or until victory had been achieved. If anything, the Ruskyetians were alerted of the threat on the flanks.

He looked at Field Marshal Nottingham, a Kidlantian general who was on board the Zeus for a while.

"So apparently Vekstrumists have sent another task force"

"Let's see how they do against the reinforced Kidlantians."

"It's nothing to be laughed at, they have a decent fleet. Launch our AWACs."

Kidlantian AWACs began to scan the skies for the Inyourfaceistani fleet that the combined fleets would eventually meet up with and battle to the bitter end. Meanwhile, the recon subs and 5 other submarines used sonar to detect the enemy. However, the first thing they would detect is the enemy AWAC and its escort. 5 Jas 39 Gripens were launched from a carrier along with 10 J-8s. Along with a Anti-Aircraft frigate with its many AA guns prepared to take down the enemy recon. That was all they detected so far. The one thing that Gestroui did know that the Inyourfaceistanis did not know was that they Kidlantians had not fully declared war yet. The declaration still sat in the president's office, unsigned.

Ruskyetan and Kidlantian troops are to fall back and await reinforcement

The battle itself

General Antilovs men fought with valor...but they were outnumbered and outgunned; it was time to pull back, regroup, and prepare a counter-attack for the enemy push that was certain to follow their withdrawal.

General Antilov ordered into his radio over the sounds of raking gun-fire and screaming wounded "Prepare to fall back; We can no longer hold this position, I repeat, we can no longer hold this position. We will take up position at Valkryn heights and prepare to counter-attack against the surge that'll certainly come after us.

All aircraft and tanks are here-by ordered to use their firepower to protect retreating infantry, and then, follow us out."

And with that, Antilov pulled a white handkerchief from his pocket and cried out "FALL BACK! OFFICERS, FULL RETREAT!" The men seemed to be completely objecting to the retreat...but orders were orders.

With solemn faces and cries of "Goddammit, we can keep fighting!" they reluctantly began falling back from the beach, into the thick woods at the beaches south, to cover them from further attack.

FINAL RUSKYETAN CASUALTY REPORT

150,000 dead, 10,000 wounded, 20 planes lost, and over 300 tanks destroyed...locked in retreat to meet up with friendly forces.

Valkryn Heights

Engineers had been airdropped into the area as soon as they'd caught wind of the plan to prepare a counter-attack here...they set traps, cleared land, and built fortified positions...if these men wanted war, they'd certainly get it.

The Ruskyetan Naval Situation

The naval forces of Ruskyet had been ordered to regroup, and to move to intercept the detected oncoming enemy fleet...they didn't know who they sailed for, all they knew was that it was a size-able battle-group that had to be at least intercepted.

Immediate hostilities were not to be broken out...the other ships had to open up aggressions before they could nail them; Ruskyetan Naval Code was still in effect.

The Propolnyet Territory

The republican guardsmen who'd been tasked with taking the tiny insurgent village, a group of roughly 50 men, moved up on the tiny hill that lay to the west.

They scanned with Binoculars and scopes, looking for any signs of enemy activity...and then they saw it; a group of armed men performing on what appeared to be an obstacle course of sorts.

The man who drilled them though...was different; he didn't wear the ragtag clothes of an insurgent, instead sporting a sleek military-style uniform.

The sniper who spotted him growled to his captain "Sir, I can grease this bastard. Just give the word." His captain brought the binoculars down from his face and sighed.

Then he ordered "Alright, heres how we're gonna do it; Konolev, you stay here and put sniper fire down range. The rest of you, split into two groups of 24 and 25...the unit with 24 will be called battle-group A, and the rest of you are folded into battle-group B."

"Alright, B you run the right flank and A run for the left...we hit the village at both ends and roll into the center while Konolev picks off anyone that tries to run. Alright Konolev...Fire-At-Will."

The sniper smiled as he lined up the crosshairs of the scope on the mans head and whispered "With pleasure, sir." before squeezing the trigger.

[Kidlantis]

Near the Insurgent Village
Kidlantian Special Operations troops had been marching for days to get near the insurgent village. Major Bronsterich, commander of the 500 Spec-Op troops that were in Ruskyet, walked up to a Republican Guardsmen and said: "We are Kidlantian Special Operations troops sent to Ruskyet for counter-insurgency operations." Bronsterich looked through binoculars another troop was looking through. He saw the man in the military uniform. He frowned. "Vekstrumists."

Kidlantis City, 11:30 AM
"What the -" the president remarked. He had a right to be bewildered, as the events of the morning were bewildering. As well as the evidence that sat in front of him.

9:30 AM
Officer Ramono was an police officer that guarded one of the tunnels that led to Kidlantis Island, an island that was part of Kidlantis City.There were 3 bridges and three underwater tunnels that led to the island. Ramono saw a car go by, and suddenly a thing dropped out of it. He had no time to investigate it, as it exploded. The tunnel began to collapse. Many had died in the explosion, however, there would be many more dead when the water came in. He saw another item that was about 10 feet from him. Ramono picked it up. It was the man's driving license. Suddenly, the tunnel collapsed. Ramono swam to the surface in a desperate attempt to survive, away from the tunnel. When he managed to surface, he realized he was still carrying the license. He swam to shore along with the other few survivors of the attack.

The entire city was currently on high alert after the bombing. However, high alert was not enough to keep the next attack from happening. The Hawkermist Memorial in Ravenia was the next place for the attack:

The Hawkermist Memorial in Ravenia was named after Captain James Hawkermist, who was a Kidlantian captain who was killed in battle during the Silver Revolution. He had shown extraordinary bravery in fighting the enemy by rushing the wounded to safety, even if that meant sacrificing himself. In his honor, the government made a memorial in his name that was dedicated to everyone that lost their lives in every war that Kidlantis fought. Even the opposing side. Sergeant Tallanvov was an policeman who was near the Hawkermist. To his right, he saw a thief picking the pocket of a man. The man was wearing a Suicide Vest, however, the officer didn't pay attention to this as he was chasing the man who picked the other man's pocket. There was a BOOM!, behind them, and they both stopped and looked around. The Hawkermist had been leveled, and the bits that were not vaporized were in flames. Tallanvov walked up to the pickpocket and handcuffed him. "You're still under arrest." He looked at the wallet that had been stolen. "I say, what's this?"

Meanwhile, back in the present...
"-evolution?" "Sir, here is the evidence." said a Kidlantian Intelligence Service officer. "The people that are suspected to be the bombers are both Ruskyetian. They moved to Kidlantis a couple months ago. They are both capitalist. They might be part of some secret capitalist circle that existed before the bombing in Ruskyet. Remember, the rebels only started fighting after the terrorist attack. So they could be a part of a group that wanted freedom from Ruskyet." "That idea is preposterous, there is absolutely no proof." replied the president. Suddenly, as Kidlantian Secret Service agent came bursting into the president's room. "Sir, we've stormed the apartment the bombers were in. New evidence!" The president looked a the evidence. It was basically this: The Ruskyet Freedom Fighters were active long before the rebellion. They wanted capitalism in Ruskyet. However, they needed a spark to set Ruskyet on fire. The G-Tech bombing was a surprise for them. They were thrust into the position of being the target of genocide. So, they fought back. It also stated that several members had fled to Kidlantis in hopes of political asylum. It also contained a chat room discussion:

Vrom29: Today's the day. How are you feeling, Cap145?

Cap145: Excellent. It's a miracle that there's I got computer access here, as there's only one computer. But seeing as today's the day, I was authorized immediate use of it. The Neige Luno commandos are training us well.

Wenstovum2: The Kidlantians will be likely be smart enough to figure out we did this: Why are we doing it again?

Cap145:So when the Kidlantians realize they're going to be subject to more attacks, they might take, say extreme measures. This could embroil them in civil war, leaving Ruskyet without anyone to fight with. They'll be overwhelmed, and we'll get capitalism. One note for today: Don't mess it up.

Wenstovum2: That idiot President Lee won't take extreme measures, maybe Kidlantian capitalists will need a spark to rebel as well.

Both leave room

Lee said to the agents standing near him "Anything else?" The KSS agent said "Yes, the other 7 men and women in the apartment block that came from Ruskyet were missing." The president said "I'll make a speech." He walked out the door.

1:30 PM
President Lee walked out of the Administrative Towers along with the Supreme Councilor Nostenven, Supreme Senator Restofanz, Vice President Chuttzu, and the Minister of Defense. Lee spoke "I think all of us now know that-" Before he could finish, about 5 assault rifles fired in the back of the crowd. The KSS surrounding the president and his colleagues took out their revolvers and fired. The president and the others were brought inside immediately. Sirens began wailing as a SWAT team from the police station came in. Finally, the president was allowed out at 6. What he saw was a massacre. 10 of the gunman lay dead, the other 4 arrested. 5 KSS agents were dead, along with 3 wounded. 2 policeman lay dead as well. The minister of defense was killed. However, what was most terrifying was that 15 civilians were killed in the cross-fire. The president took out the declaration of war against Kengburg. "The attacks on Ruskyet may have been caused by G-Tech, however, the attacks on Kidlantis were caused by these 'freedom fighters' in Ruskyet." He then signed the declaration. He said to a nearby KIS officer "Wire the information found to our friends in Ruskyet." The woman nodded "Yes sir. I'm sure they'll be interested."

----------------- Out at sea, Approaching Ruskyetan waters -----------------

The AWAC's patrol detected fifteen enemy aircraft taking off. They almost immediately turned around, and pegged the location of the Kidlantian fleet to their ships. As the retreated, they had two Su-47's escort them back to the carrier, leaving fourteen to engage the enemy aircraft. The Su-47 was the psychotic grand-child of the original Su-27 Flanker, it's sleek build allowed for one of the fastest modern aircraft while it's swept wing design gave it an edge over most modern fighters. Abandoned by the Russian government because of its lack of stealth technology, a massive number had been purchased by the RNI for use as interceptors, a job which they performed with deadly precession. The fourteen aircraft locked onto the enemy that had just taken off from the carrier with long-range air-to-air missiles, and fired. After firing they all maneuvered to hold their position without getting too close to the enemy fleet.

Meanwhile, the surface fleet had received the information about the hostile fleet on the horizon. Quickly, another wave of aircraft was launched. Twenty-two A-6 attackers and an escort of twelve IEK-88 fighters were busy lifting off from both carriers. Meanwhile, after reports from Kenburgian radar stationed on the coast that the Ruskyetan fleet was moving out to sea, the Eseti recon submarine turned its movements towards the Ruskyetan coast, watching the seas both above and below the surface with its long range sonar.

The fleet would have to get within 500nm miles to launch their LRSAM missiles, but for now, their advantage was position, and relatively unknown strength.

----------------- Beachhead, Just offshore -----------------

The last of the Inyourfaceistani and Kenburgian ships had gone down fighting, and they slowly slipped beneath the waves. Enemy Kamikazae attacks were causing moderate casualties, as most the forces had been able to take shelter after the Kidlantians were pushed of the beach. Remaining Inyourfaceistani aircraft continued to dogfight the enemy as best as they could.

Considering both their carriers had sunk, and most of the aircraft were too damaged and low on fuel and ammo, should they land at the airfeild they would only drain more supplies; many pilots were doing the same as the Kidlantians, and aiming their aircraft for the command towers of enemy surface ships.

The last three surviving A-6 Intruder attack aircraft came in low and fast, and fired their final salvo of torpedoes at the carrier Olympus right above the waterline. Meanwhile, the remaining fighters continued to mix and weave with the enemy, determined to take down as many as possible.

----------------- Beachhead, A few miles inland -----------------

Since the beginning of the invasion, the Kenburgians had sustained roughly 129,500 casualties, and the small Inyourfaceistani Marine unit had roughly 60 or so killed or wounded.

Scouts had reported the enemy was retreating, and the infantry on the front lines waited until the smoke was cleared and the shooting had stopped to advance a few hundred feet deeper, but stopped short of any serious gains. Behind them, the guns on the coast now turned toward the land, and began bombarding the strip of land known as the Valkryn Heights.

----------------- Opposition Territory -----------------

Neige Luno Captain Carlos Santigraci looked through his binoculars at the Ruskyetan-Opposition instructor who had gone against his advice and worn a military uniform. The Neige Luno wore mostly ghillie suits to look like foliage, as they lay in rest in trees and other areas of thick vegitation by day, and trained the cadre of the opposition at night. Roughly fifteen of the commandos would be training fourty or so of the rebels, who would then turn around and pass their knowledge onto masses of other opposition fighters. Most the cadre would travel out to their home villages and begin to train more people, giving the Neige Luno a far greater effect radius than the small, thirty-man team could muster.

"Dumb bastard." He whispered to his shoulder-man, who was a few feet above him on a higher branch, looking down the scope of an HK SR-25 sniper rifle.

Suddenly, the man's head turned into a useless sack of jelly as his body fell to the ground. The rebels around him scattered, each grabbing their AKS-74U carbines and FN-FAL rifles.

"Shit! We've got company!" he said into the radio, directed at the other commandos in the area. He then switched channels and radioed to the rebel leadership: "Hold the top of this ridge. Form your men in a defensive circle, and fire on anything that comes up that hill. Also, we have an enemy sniper, somewhere between 39 degrees S-SW and 52 degrees S-SW. I want scopes on that location. Over."

"I see him sir." said Carlos's shoulder-man. Across the valley, he caught a brief glimpse of scope glare, and attempted to line up a shot. Meanwhile, dozens of insurgents rushed to foxholes and natural fortifications such as fallen logs and rocky craggs, and awaited an inevitable raid. There were some tunnels in the hillside, but many were far from completion. The Neige Luno and opposition leadership had both agreed and planned for an extensive tunnel system, similar to that used by the Veit Cong in the American-Veitnam war.

Chennez Quar Informacio et Din!

Reporter: We now bring you this breaking update. In the southern province of the San Meresque Strip a small fringe group has caused an uproar. The island of Lonos Cay has been taken over by roughly three-hundred rioters, claiming to "rise in support of our brothers in Ruskyet and Kidlantis". Many inhabitants escaped, but those that didn't are now being kept as hostages. The group, known as "Red Ocean" demands the government of Inyourfaceistan withdraw from the Ruskyetan Conflict, as they beleive the outbreak of war is likely, and they harbor leftist leanings.

As of yet, the military has taken control of all ports in the immediate vacinity, and is using small subs and gunboats to set a blockade of the island. They are also tasked with keeping crowds of angry militia seeking revenge on the "Red Ocean" fringe group from attempting to storm the island themselves and potentially get hostages killed.

Military Liazon: At this time we are not prepared to make public our next plan of action. Our number one priority are the people trapped on the island,man's we must make sure any action is in our best interest. We are also sorry to admit that we cannot let any non-military asset onto the island, we understand the cause of concern for the various citizens of our nation and the rage they feel for these terrorists, however blindly storming the island intent on revenge is not the right course of action.

Near Ruskyet
"Darn it!" yelled the Kidlantian pilot of the Gripen that was shot down. A Gripen and two J-8s had been shot down, although the other planes were close in pursuit. The J-8s fired their own PL2 air-to-air missiles at the Su-47 aircraft. The Saab JAS 39 Gripens, which could carry a wide variety of rockets, missiles, and bombs, each fired the 6 Sidewinder Air-to-air missiles. They kept their air-to-ship missiles, as they could be used later in the event of an Inyourfaceistani attack. The Gripens and Shenyangs sped away from the dogfight, hoping to escape to the carriers before the Su-47s could retaliate. Meanwhile, the 2 AWACs along with their escort of 15 Shenyangs detected enemy aircraft launching from the carriers. They sent the coordinates of the carriers to all allied ships, and the AWACs flew towards the K.N.S. Zeus, along with their escort. 20 Gripens along with 2 F-22s and 20 Shenyangs launched from their carriers. Meanwhile, the KPAF (Kidlantian People's Air Force) planes that were not on the carriers landed on friendly airfields in Ruskyet. After a quick refueling stop, they would join the fight against enemy air forces. Kidlantian sonar had tracked down a IC-98 missile frigate. They couldn't hit it yet, however an attack submarine slowly began to move in range of the IC-98. It would have to be within 23 miles of the frigate to be in range. Meanwhile, one of the missile destroyers, the KNS Steven Nostenven, fired 15 missiles at the carrier. Admiral Gestroui said in a speech to the members of the Zeus. "This is just a race. If we make it to the designated landing area we win because we land our reinforcements and crush the enemy. If the Inyourfaceistani fleet reaches us, well, not all of the reinforcements may not arrive. We have 300 miles to go." He did not, of course, mention that there were thermobaric weapons on board one of the missile destroyers

The beachhead, and the beachhead's skies and waters
2 Kidlantian destroyers had been taken out by the Kamikaze attacks, along with a single frigate. Ensign Menley grimaced as the torpedoes hit his ship. AA guns fired upon the A-6s that had attacked the Olympus. The ship began creaking. Menley ordered a shutdown of the engine. The ship stabilized, although now it was a sitting duck until repair crews got to the Olympus. Crewmen began spraying seawater on the fires on board. Menley hoped that the ship's engine could be back up and running in a few days. The Kidlantian Mig29s had suffered another 13 shot down, all of which hit the Kengburgian troops. The pilots of the airplanes sensed that the end of the battle was near, and the Mig29s fired their 30 mm cannons at the enemy aircraft along with their air-to-air and dogfight missiles. Kidlantian pilots at friendly airfields asked to be refueled. The Sparrowhawks, all 39 of them, continued their assault against the F-22s. the unit that was making a last stand had lost 900 troops. In a final act of defiance, they took a Kengburgian flag and set fire to it. One troop then wrote these letters in the sand:
We will defeat you. You Kengburgians will be stopped. Ruskyet will be free. We are one. You are many. You will all soon perish.
The remaining 100 retreated to the last landing ship, and escaped to where the Kidlantian troops were. Johstan looked towards the sea. Soon the reinforcements would arrive. However, at the moment. Kidlantian howitzers had regrouped and had began firing randomly on the Kengburgian troops. In the aftermath of the first battle, Tyushimi ordered a search party for the sailors that were stranded. They searched for Inyourfaceistani and Kidlantian sailors. Hopefully they could save both of them, and they would both be transferred to the place where Johstan set up his command. Meanwhile, the Kidlantian destroyers and battleships targeted the Kengburgian with their naval guns.

Opposition Territory
The Kidlantian Special Operations troops approached the rebels with their BM-012 8.57 mm Carbine rifles that had just been imported from Riysa. The commander of the Spec-Op legion saw no gunfire. He decided to order an air strike with B52 bombers. He figured that since the rebels were in hiding, there would be no AA fire to destroy the aircraft. 3 Kidlantian Mig-29s escorted the 3 B52s, who dropped their bombs over the village. He thought the air strike probably killed many, however, that could be wrong.

Kidlantis City
"Well, I frankly don't know what to make of this." President Lee said. Over the past few hours, councilors had been advising the president on the rebellion. "But I've made my decision." he said. Lee walked out towards the podium and spoke. "All of you know by now that there has been an uprising on an island called Lonos Cay has been taken over by rebels. Although I share some of the same ideological viewpoints they have, I have to disagree with what they've done. They've taken hostages, innocent civilian hostages. They've taken an island by force, knowing that they'll likely be destroyed. They claim to "Rise in support of their brothers in Kidlantis and Ruskyet." Well, Red Ocean, I have a message for you: The people of Kidlantis don't support you! We aren't communists! We're Social Democrats! We're Environmentalists! We're Atheists! We're Kidlantians!!" By now the crowd is roaring in applause, so Lee has to pau

The Valkryn Heights

The arriving Ruskyetan soldiers began digging in at the positions the engineers had managed to prepare...they were mostly set up in front of a large-sharply sloped hill, that'd protect them from flanking attacks. The wounded moved up and over the hill, into the protective cavern formed by the carved stone of Valkryn.

General Antilov rode in on-board his tank and immediately began to order his men around; his tanks were set atop the hill, meaning that when the time came they could rush down and through cleared lanes, across the open field that separated them from the woods for about a mile.

The men entrenched quickly, helping the engineers with their increased manpower to dig in and prepare for the long-haul...they received several drops of ammunition and various other supplies.

Then he radioed the Capital City of Valkatta, on a very specific frequency that hadn't been accessed in nearly 40 years "President Vasili, we've been driven back to the Valkryn heights...requesting permission to make use of the hidden defense."

In Valkatta

"Do all that you think is necessary and proper, General Antilov. Over and out." The radio signal was so well encrypted that no one outside of the president and his most trusted generals knew of it...it'd been set up during the first civil war.

Moving over to the window in his office, Vasili cracked the blinds and looked out into the courtyard, wondering how this war would turn out for his Republic.

In reply to Red-Oceans stand for Communism, Vasili had ordered an air squadron of roughly 100 KN-95 Cargo/Gunships to offer the rebels supplies, but also sent the message; "Free the hostages, and we will continue to support your efforts."

Opposing Territory

The Republican guard, bolstered by their Kidlantian Allies, moved in for the kill just as they'd been trained to do...cautiously, and with great attention to detail...if there were any snipers here they'd fire on them and then their sniper would knock them out hopefully.

A team made their move on the left flank, moving up to the nearest buildings for cover...they found a burned out car, and knew immediately how they were supposed to proceed; four men took cover behind it, before quickly leaping up and opening two of the doors...the two remaining men clicked out their bayonets and hacked through the pieces that held the doors attached.

Then the two men who'd been holding the doors picked them up and turned them like riot shields, brandishing them by their inner handles...they'd been trained to use doors like this because the rebels favorite round was the hollow-point, a round that wouldn't pierce a car.

Arranging themselves into two columns behind the men holding the doors, A-team continued forward up the street.

B-team

The members of B-battlegroup charged across the open ground they'd been tasked with taking...they had the look of warriors in their battle-uniforms of black and greenish-grey that blended with the open plains of the Propolnyet territory.

Meanwhile, the squad sniper had dropped down and begun to say a short prayer after that first shot...it was a cold, detached task that required precision and the callousness of ice.

The pilots of the Su-47's watched on radar as the enemy fighters, who were beyond visual range, fired their missiles. The short-range Chinese PL-2 missiles and AIM-9 Sidewinders did not even make it close to the Inyourfaceistani jets, where as the AIM-Pheonix missiles had a range of 100nm (or 190Km). They were still in probable range of the ship's long range SAM systems, but until then, the enemy fighters were sitting ducks. A second salvo of their long-range air-to-air missiles were launched, and the Su-47's moved to intercept the AWACs before they could return to the fleet. The advanced Sukhoi aircraft then fired R-77 air-to-air missiles at the flight of Kidlantian aircraft, mostly targeting the AWAC, but also the J-8s.

Meanwhile, the Inyourfaceistani AWACs returning the carrier had also detected the Kidlantian AWACs, considering they both had they biggest eyes on the battlefeild it was no surprise they had detected one another. The ships comprising of the task force then turned their motion in a different direction. As word from outlying interceptors came in about dozens of enemy fighters being launched, both carrier began launching aircraft. One launched sixteen F-18 Super Hornets, the other launched sixteen F-22 Raptors. The F-18's took the fastest, and most direct route to the action hundreds of miles away, meanwhile the F-22's split apart into two groups of eight, and flew out to the flanks.

As the fleet was not yet within firing range of their LRSAMs, the detour would impair their launch. However, they were still most likely capable of firing them from a longer range than anything the Kidlantians could throw at them.

----------------------- Beachhead, just off shore -------------------------

The enemies that had attempted to crash into the Kenburgian ranks were now doing less, and less damage, as most had retreated inland, or into fortified bunkers that had been abandoned by the defenders.

In the skies, the remaining pilots continued to fight to the bitter end. They had, for the most part, a slight technological edge over the Mig29's and Sparrowhawks, but were outnumbered by the Kidlantians, the "Red Hive" as many were now beggining to call the ant-like tactic of the Kidlantias to just aimlessly throw manpower into the battle until they win... However, RNI pilots were extremely well trained, and were holding their own against the enemy numbers.

The remaining planes were still in fighting condition, and they planned to take as many Kidlantians down with them as they could. After dropping their torpedoes, the last of the A-6 attackers were seriously damaged. One fell into the seas bellow, and the other two made a last-ditch Kamikazae on the carrier "Olympus". Seeing their comrades make their final stand, four F-18 Super Hornets broke off from the dogfight to attempt to drop two unguided bombs on the "Olympus" each.

Orders had come through to hold the line, and dig in until reinforcements arrived. Kenburgian Howitzwers and Inyourfaceistani M-270 rocket artillery began to fire onto the Valkryn Heights. Armored forces had been moved up to the front, but were standing stationary and being dug into the ground and covered in camoflouge material. Troops stood waiting for a counter-attack, and snipers hid behind armored vehicles and trees, searching for exposed Ruskyetan soldiers.

BUOOOGGHHH! BUOOOGGHHH! BUOOOGGHHH!!"

The sound of death from above filled the sky as everyone around the village could feel the oxygen being sucked from the air. Intense waves of heat and concussion then followed the massive explosions.

"Shit! Scatter! Scatter!" Everybody Scatter!" Captain Santigraci said on a low-encryption frequency. He jumped down and ran back, grabbing a little boy who had been knocked unconscious by the Kidlantian bombs.

His shoulder-man fired off three shots at the Ruskyetan sniper, before hoping down the tree and running down into the foliage bellow.

Those rebels that couldn't make it attempted to fight of the Kidlantian and Ruskyetan death squads entering the village. Most of them had just witnessed their families erracticated by an indiscriminate Kidlantian air strike, and they had no intention of obeying Captain Santagcraci's orders to fall back and fight another day. As the enemy closed in, roughly 85 armed opposition fighters sprayed lead from their AKS-74U's and FN-FAL's in the direction of their foes.

The Kidlantian commander was correct, many had been killed by the bombings... Over 150 rebel insurgents were killed; some 200 civilians, mostly women and children, were also wiped out; and 3 Neige Luno (1/10th of their entire force) lay dead between the boms and the ambush...

The Valkryn heights

General Antilovs men were quite well protected against incoming enemy fire, but there was the occasional man hit...however, medical care was quickly given to those who were in want of it. After several brief firefights and slight clashes of arms, Antilov decided to show his enemies the secrets that the rocks of Valkryn concealed.

Over an shortwave radio, Antilov ordered "Let us show them the guns of Valkryn. Prepare to fire." Then, great flaps and positions opened. The most noticeable of which was a gun so massive, it appeared to have a fully automated loading mechanism because of the shells great weight.

It was a 700mm cannon that'd been installed after the first civil war...it lobbed a high explosive shell the size of a T-34 tank at a snails pace, and was supported by a battery of 500 150mm howitzers and anti tank cannons, and several hundred multi-fire missile launchers each capable of firing 64 84mm warheads on each shot.

Antilov ordered his batteries, and the great gun, lovingly named "Rosalina" by the men whom she was about to fight for, to fire on kengburgian positions.

With a blast that seemed to disrupt the very earth itself, the Rosalina fired her first shot in anger, a massive tracer-like shell that soared low and fast over the trees, towards the enemy. She was followed shortly by a barrage of missiles and blistering 150mm artillery fire.

If they wanted to play the artillery game, they'd get more than they bargained for.

_______The Village_______

The guardsmen of A-team had to give these rebels their due credit...they were putting up a hell of a fight, as the 21 man team maneuver through the buildings...they'd taken roughly three casualties out there in the street, before they'd maneuvered to this position for cover.

The guardsmen of B-team were having a rougher go...they'd lost 6 men in the immediate onslaught of rebel fire, and were now advancing at a snails pace, firing on the enemies that were firing upon them.

Meanwhile, their squad sniper had recovered from the shots fired at him...he hadn't been hit, but they'd definitely shaken him because of the great amounts of dirt they threw up around him.

Leaning back up over the small rise, he fired 2 shots on what appeared to be an opposing sniper on the run. He was obviously not rebel, judging by his camouflage...it appeared as military grade.

___Air Raid___

A fresh round of air to air Vk's and C-34 attack aircraft had been launched to harass the kengburgians and duke it out in the sky with them...they needed to hold aerial superiority near Valkryn, or else there was a very real chance that the gun could be knocked out.

[Kidlantis]

Open Ocean
The Kidlantian pilots, frustrated by their failure in hitting the enemy aircraft, lost another JAS 39 and 3 J-8s. They moved in range of the Su-47 aircraft, and fired their remaining missiles. "Ah, I'm losing control! I'm going down!!!" yelled the pilot of the AWAC. The Kidlantians protecting the AWACs lost an AWAC and 3 J-8s. They sent the remaining AWAC back to the carrier with an escort of 2 J-8s. The other 10 J-8s, along with the planes that had launched recently, moved into range of the enemy planes. The F-22s fired their AMRAAM missiles, while the Jas 39 Gripens fired their Skyflash medium-range missiles. The J-8s saved their PL-2s until they could get in range of the Su-47s. The Kidlantian SAM defenses fired their Surface-to-air missiles at the planes that the Kidlantian frigate with the radar detected leaving the carrier. Meanwhile, the Kidlantian AWAC that detected the Su-47s leaving from the carrier sent the coordinates to the allied ships. The Kidlantains prepared their missiles to launch at the carrier.
250 Miles off the coast of Ruskyet, the race to the landing area continues

The Beachhead Area
The Kidlantian troops had built basic trench systems by now. The howitzers had now been turned towards the sea in hopes of sinking any enemy reinforcements that might come in. The mobile SAMs fired at the enemy aircraft. A young officer yelled to Johstan. "Sir, look towards the Valkryn Hights!" Johstan replied "Is that a real gun?" Above the beachhead, Kidlantian fighters continued to crash themselves into the Kengburgians, despite the fact that the enemy was in bunkers. 10 more Mig29 and 2 more Sparrowhawks had been shot down. The Kidlantian fighters, knowing that the air battle was almost over, fired their missiles and 30 mm cannons. The Sparrowhawks, flanked the main body of the Inyourfaceistani aircraft that remained. The Sparrowhawks, knowing that they had a "Made in Lyras" seal on their aircraft, were prepared to destroy the enemy once and for all. They fired their AIM-120 missiles. The Kidlantian pilots had gone through much training, and along with their numbers and Lyran-made aircraft, they could defeat many aircraft. The Kamikaze attacks tore through the deck of the crippled carrier, however, due to sufficient damage control that had recently gone up to full speed, the Olympus survived once more. The guided bombs were quickly shot down by the CIWS defenses. However, a Kidlantian Strike Eagle that had recently refueled evaded the AA defenses for long enough to drop a bunker buster bomb on the Kengburgian troops. It was then shot down.

Near Insurgent Village
The Kidlantian commander saw 10 of his men collapse to the enemy fire. Although he was sad to see so many civilians die, he believed it was necessary. He turned to the rebels in one attempt to negotiate. "You have one chance to lay down your weapons and surrender. Then we open fire. One of you was responsible for it. You know what I mean."

The Su-47's deployed chafe the throw of the active radar of the AIM-120's, however, three were still hot by the enemy missiles, two being destroyed instantly and the other being forced to bug out back to the carrier. Another aircraft was destroyed when it was hit by a long-range SAM fired from the ships. Each fighter then pulled a hard manuever to cause the Kidlantian pilots to briefly loose the lock.

They then retalliated with another salvo of R-77 MRAAMs as they continued to fly laterally at the inner edge of the fleets defensive systems. The second wave of aircraft from the carriers, twenty-two A-6 naval attackers and twelve IEK-88 fighters, were now approaching the Su-47's position. Trying to keep out of the ensuing engagement, the A-6 Intruders dove towards the ocean, and began flying less than fifty feet above the water. Just now coming into range of their own AIM-54 Pheonix, the Inyourfaceistani-made generation 4.5 fighters locked onto the enemy J-8's and JAS-39 Gripens, and fired a salvo of twenty-four missiles. Considering the stealth qualities of the F-22, they would have to get within medium range to engage them with their own laser-guided missiles

The fleet continued its evasive motion, moving to get away from the location where the enemy AWACs had pegged them. They were almost in range of their advanced missiles, but to air on the safe side the ships chose evasion rather than offence. Meanwhile, the fleet's submarines had all sunk beneath the waves, and we're taking a different course that that of the main fleet.

----------------------- Beachhead -------------------------

Another minor amount of aircraft had been shot down. The pilots continued to fight down to the last bullet. There was no doubt the Kidlantians would win this battle, but only because of numbers and numbers alone. Every pilot knew their enemies would be in for one hell of an ass-whopping once they could fight them one on one... Every plane that was finished, but not outright destroyed now aimed itself for the carrier "Olympus", most specifically the command bridge. About sixteen F-18 Super Hornets were left, which were roughly equal to the Sparrowhawks used by the Kidlantians, and each and every one of them vowed to take down five enemy aircraft with them. The F-22's stealth was of little help in this close-range clusterfuck, except that it made it harder for enemy missiles to lock on, but they continued to duck and weave, using their almost unmatched dogfighting skills to pounce on their unsuspecting foes.

Meanwhile, the Kenburgains were under heavy fire from the oversized enemy gun. Forty-Thousand had been killed or wounded, along with seventy-five howitzers, ten RNI rocket artillery and roughly one-hundred ten BMP-3's.
Michelle Bordeux looked out her binoculars at the monstrosity. The whole thing was clearly a ploy for fear factor. Colonel Devacci was standing by her side.
"Let my boys at it."
"And what do your tanks plan to do to that thing?"
"Make it blow itself up. At least force the Ruskyetans to stop firing that thing."
"Very well. I'm interested to see what you Inyourfaceistani's have in mind."

A few hours later twenty M1A2 Abrams and ten YT-2 heavy tanks crawled up within range of the super gun. They all loaded Thermal Rounds into their cannons, designed to litteraly melt the insides of enemy tanks, these rounds produced massive heat that would denature the metal structure of the barrel itself. The disruption in the metal workings of the barrel would cause the weapon to bend downward thus reducing the internal width of the exit chamber, which would then cause the massive round to become stuck at best, or depending on how advanced the round was, blow it up inside the barrel. As the super gun unleashed another massive round, the tanks all fired their shots, aiming right for the barrel itself.

Realizing their time to strike was upon them, 80 Rafale-M fighters, and tweleve B-52 bombers were given the order to take off from the runway.

----------------------- Opposition Territory -------------------------

Many rebels had fallen to the enemy as the made a dying effor in the smoldering ruins of what used to be a city. They continued firing, and they only ceased firing when the Kidlantain commander made an ultimatum. As he foolishly asked them to surrender after his forced had committed intentional bombardments of civilian targets. Two snipers then fired at him from different areas, one using an SVD Dragunov rifle, and the other using a common hunting rifle.

"Death to the murdering Kidlantians!" a younger fighter, most likely in his late teenage years shouted. He then stepped out and fired an RPG that seemed to coincide with the two shots by the snipers. The chaos then re-ensued as the rebels fought to take down as many with them as they could.

The Neige Luno commandos, and surviving rebels had to keep moving to avoid being surrounded and overwhelmed. They would make it to next village a few miles away, and move on from there. Soon, word word spread across the land of what had occurred.

----------------------- Lonos Cay -------------------------

After the leftist group Red Ocean realized their situation was hopeless, as no "glorious revolution" had been sparked in the RNI, and the only signs of anything relatively close was the growing crowd of angry civilian militants who protested the military's refusal to let them storm the island, they began systematically executing hostages. This sparked a late-night raid by Navy Special Combat Engagement Group (SCEG's) who freed many of the hostages. Sadly, a few more were killed in the firefight, but almost 90% were able to be safely evacuated. The next morning, the military withdrew its blockade of the island, and hundreds upon hundreds of armed civilians began to rush across the two bridges and move by boat. Escorting them were dozens of highly trained corporate mercenaries, there to see to it their employers private property was not damaged.

President Jack Peresque and Feild Marshal Monti Humorez watched the footage of the crowds cramming onto bridges, each person fighting to get their chance to inflict harm on those who would wish ill upon them.
"Burn in hell..." Marshal Humorez said about the terrorists, who's impending fate was now sealed.
"They don't beleive in hell, Monti."
"And you think that will save them?"
"No. Those fuckers are doomed... But I do wonder what is worse, Satan's eternal fires or the wrath of a bunch of pissed-off Inyourfaceistanis?"
"Who says Satan isn't a pissed-off Inyourfaceistani?"

The Valkryn heights

The Ruskyetan gun had a few tricks up its sleeves yet...aside from being made purposefully designed to protect against high heat, it came equipped with a battery of automated 20mm gatling cannons, designed to blast enemy munitions out of the air.

As the shells neared their target, they were sadly few nailed, exploding harmlessly in the air, 15 shells managed to get through the wall of fire and explode against the gun, which creaked and groaned in protest.

The enemy tanks were immediately brought under heavy fire by ruskyetan tanks...50 of their full number topped the hill, and began retaliating with powerful 130mm HEAT fire. What ruskyetan tanks lacked in armor protection, they more than made up for with blistering firepower and maneuverability.

Opposing territory

The Republican guard had ceased fire, and ceased pursuit of rebel forces...they'd set to work digging graves and making crosses for the soldiers and civilians alike who'd fallen here.

The commander approached thekidlantians "Who in the HELL ordered in that airstrike in? You can help prepare the bodies for burial.

Antilov realized Valkryn and her big guns were in serious danger, and if Ruskyet was to win the day here, they would have to attack. Hailing the kidlantian general via radio, Antilov asked" Are yourmen up for a counter-attack?" With a tone that insinuated brilliance.

150 miles off the Coast of Ruskyet
The Kidlantians lost all but two J-8's and one Gripen from the original force, and they had been saved by chafe. The remaining Gripen that originally was launched fired its final MRAAM and escaped to the carrier, its pilot lucky that it was alive. The 2 other J-8's that were originally launched fired the PL-2's, and escaped to the carrier. The F-22's fired one-half of their AIM-120's, or six, leaving the rest for later. The J-8's moved to intercept the A-6 attack craft and fired 15 PL-2 missiles. Kidlantian AA and SAM fire blanketed the skies, and although a JAS 39 was shot down by friendly AA fire, it could seriously help out the Kidlantian aircraft. Speaking of the Saab JAS 39 Gripens, they fired 12 Rb.71 (Skyflash) medium range air-to-air missiles. Although they had no idea that the Inyourfaceistani fleet was evading them, the Kidlantians were following the same action. The priority was to land the reinforcements. When the reconnaissance submarine detected the Inyourfaceistani submarines heading in a different direction then the main enemy fleet, they ordered the submarines to arm their torpedoes in case they assaulted the Kidlantian Fleet.

Skies Above the Beachhead
The Kidlantians, which had lost 15 Mig-29's and 3 Sparrowhawks to enemy fire this time, continued crashing their destroyed fighters into the Kengburgians. The Mig-29's and Sparrowhawks, realizing they had to destroy the F-18's and F-22's now or suffer incredible losses, fired their last salvo of missiles and fired their cannons for a bit before landing on the carriers and airfields. The Olympus's first few decks had been blown right off when the enemy fighters crashed into it, thankfully there were no aircraft on it because all of the aircraft were in the air. When Kidlantian radar detected the Rafales and B-52's taking off, they almost immediately sprung into action. 90 of Kidlantis's own Rafale fighters took off from an airfield. If the Kidlantian surprise was able to take down a sufficent number of aircraft, they could succeed. If not, well, then it was over. They delayed their attack until the AA fire ended. After the Migs and Sparrowhawks had landed, the ships let go. The sky was filled with blistering AA fire, while SAMs on the ground and out at sea fired their missiles. After about 45 minutes of firing, they stopped. The Kidlantian Rafales took to the sky, unaware of the dangers that awaited them. For an unknown reason, the fighters were painted teal. Johstan gave a return transmission: "We are due receive reinforcements within a few hours. However, considering that the enemy's hiding, this is the opportune time." He yelled to a young officer. "I want our troops to be attack the Kengburgian positions. Lieutenant Ğrustunion responded. "Yes sir!" In one and a half hours, the Kidlantian troops that remained were ready to fight as they marched towards the dark cloud blanketing the world that was Kengburg.

The Kidlantian commander was unable to respond as he was being carried off the battlefield on a stretcher. He had been shot in the arm and in the side by the snipers. The angry Kidlantians had returned fire at the rebels, however it hadn't seemed to do much. An angry Kidlantian had yelled at the rebels calling them 'murdering terrorists' The major, however responded rudely "First off, we don't believe in hell. Second, the person who called that was the commander, who is wounded. Finally, it was the rebels own fault for hiding in civilian buildings. He probably wouldn't have called it in if they weren't hiding. Now, I have another village to take the insurgents out of." He then ordered an air-strike on the rebels with Thunderbolt ground attack aircraft. Without bombing of civilian buildings, preferably. Kidlantian Special Forces were not known for politeness.

Lonos Cay
Look at them. Crawling all over your country. The KSS that is. The Kidlantian Secret Service had at least 14 operatives in Inyourfaceistan. Jack Horton, one of them, lived on Lonos Cay. He had climbed the ranks of 'Red Ocean'. He had three operatives of the group under his control. This morning, while the nervous freedom fighters looked at the mercenaries crossing the bridge, he prepared 2 bombs that were smuggled in by the KSS. The three operatives were to cover for him while he set the bombs up to explode. The idea was to delay the end until a Kidlantian transport chopper could pick them up and save them. So, agent Horton and the three operatives began to walk towards the first bridge.

150 miles off the Coast of Ruskyet
The Kidlantians lost all but two J-8's and one Gripen from the original force, and they had been saved by chafe. The remaining Gripen that originally was launched fired its final MRAAM and escaped to the carrier, its pilot lucky that it was alive. The 2 other J-8's that were originally launched fired the PL-2's, and escaped to the carrier. The F-22's fired one-half of their AIM-120's, or six, leaving the rest for later. The J-8's moved to intercept the A-6 attack craft and fired 15 PL-2 missiles. Kidlantian AA and SAM fire blanketed the skies, and although a JAS 39 was shot down by friendly AA fire, it could seriously help out the Kidlantian aircraft. Antilovs forces were split after the hour and a half...100,000 preparing to attack with the kidlantians, and the entire remainder had performed a flanking operation.

They'd snuck into position on the landward flanks, undetected by the enemy, because they made use of thickly wooded areas.

With them, Antilov had deployed all his remaining armor to aid the ruskyetan infantry with their drives into enemy territory...this attack was his final gambit.

If his men were forced back with sustained casualties like they'd seen earlier, Antilov would have no choice but to retreat and reinforce further inland.

Opposition Territory

The Guardsman who'd lost his temper cooled at the words of his brothers, and apologized to the kidlantians;

"I'm sorry, brother kidlantians, it is just that regardless of their beleifs, these men, women and children are still innocent peoples of Ruskyet, and they deserve better. We are here to stop the terrorists and end the killing...not bring about more of it. So for now, quell yourt rage and mourn for the fallen here. At least out of respect for the dead, even if you worship nothing."

The other guardsmen had all briefly stopped their grim task, encouraging and cheering the man on...besides, their forces were more effective in conjunction than alone.

Once again Su-47's deployed chafe the throw of the active radar of the AIM-120's, but like before some were still hit by the enemy missiles, one being destroyed instantly and the two being forced to bug out back to the carrier. The aircraft deployed IR flares to disrupt the guidance of the PL-2s, but one took a glancing blow to the wing and headed back to the carrier. A fifth was destroyed by a second volley of enemy long-range SAM fire. The missile fire from the enemy J-8's was far away, and gave the A-6's plenty of time to launch counter-measures and pull evasive maneuvers. However, two were struck hard, and forced to retreat.

Seeing the IEK-88 Sky Kraits and A-6 Intruders had now made it, the remaining Su-47's fired rheir last R-77 MRAAMs and began to head back towards the carrier. The IEK-88's had been ignored by enemy aircraft, perhaps for lack of long-range air-to-air missiles; and they were now in range to fire their own Python-5 missiles, which could track on to stealth-enabled fighters with ease. These advanced Israeli missiles were used to target to enemy F-22's. The wave of F-18's was now within range of their own AIM-54 Pheonix LRAAM's, and let loose against the J-8's attacking the A-6 Intruders. Not surprisingly, the F-22's that had taken off with the F-18 Super Hornets had disappeared, and where flying so far undetected, as they were gen 5 stealth fighters.

The fleet was now conpletely out of the zone the Kidlantian AWAC's had pegged, but close to it. As the coast was roughly just over 200 nautical miles away, it would take a few hours to reach the coast, but that was not their plan... Calculating the position the RNI AWAC's had pegged with the radar reports from the outlying fighters, the Inyourfaceistani fleet was now just within the 500 nautical mile radius needed to fire their secret weapon, the LRASM missile, designed by Lockheed-Martin. A total of fourteen ships, seven various destroyers and seven IC-98 missile frigates locked on to the enemy fleet, and fired a salvo of ten missiles each, for a total of 140 missiles headed for the Kidlantian fleet. Fortunately, enemy long-range SAMs should be tied up with the attacking aircraft, making it easier for the missiles to slip by.

Meanwhile, a flight of 14 C-17's from a friendly airfeild less than two thousand miles away was inbound toward the Kenburgian controlled airfeild a few miles away from the front lines. They were escorted by forty-four IEK-88 fighters and an interception group of twelve Su-47's, the latter two of which had required refueling stops on the way. They were now entering airspace roughly 100nmi behind the Inyourfaceistani fleet.

The last remaining F-18's, F-22's and Su-47's prepared to make their final stand against the overwhelming Kidlantian numbers. They ducked and weaves, firing of their last missiles and letting loose with their 20mm miniguns and 30mm autocannons. Needless to say those pilots that could aimed their falling aircraft at the "Olympus", a far closer target than the Kenburgians hunkered down would serve their foes. Death would soon be upon them, but not before they shoved a whole shitload of their enemy through the door first...

Meanwhile, six M1A2 Abrams and three YT-2 Crocodiles had been destroyed by the enemy tank fire. Fortunately, the Kenburgians moved up to support their allies, and the T-84's and BMP-3's fired their main cannons at the lightly armored Ruskyetan tanks busy firing at the Inyourfaceistani's. The advanced Inyourfaceistani tanks continued to fire their Thermal Ordinance at the enemy super-gun, hoping to denature its structure and cause a misfire.

The Kenburgian soldiers, aided by roughly 250 Inyourfaceistani Marines, took their positions on the lines, ready to defend the captured ground on all fronts. As soon as the enemy came into sight of their guns, the soldiers began to fire, hosing away at enemy infantry with a wall of automatic fire from their various rifles and targeting armor with a mix of RPG-7v2's and M-72 LAWs. Another 5,000 Humvees were brought to the front of the line on all three sides to mow down enemy soldiers with their 50 caliber machine guns, and a few to engage tanks with their TOW missiles.

The enemy was not the only force on the Battlefeild with SAM's and AA guns. The unnamed Kenburgian mobile SAMs fired off their weapons alongside in Inyourfaceistani M-6 Linebackers and 9K22 Tungska integrated platforms. Infantry on the ground were also making use of Stinger missiles, to lock onto incoming enemy aircraft.

In the skies above, the Dasault Rafale-M's broke apart into two smaller groups, one to engage the Ruskyetan fighters and the other one to engage the Kidlantian aircraft. They opened fire at medium range with their MICA Infra-red missiles. The twelve B-52 bombers headed towards the Valkyn heights. Commanders on the ground ordered another large wave of sixty Rafale-M's into the sky in order to compete with the larger numbers of enemy fighters incoming.

The Neige Luno commandos and their closest rebel cadre were moving away from the second village in jeeps when they noticed the A-10's began attacking the town. The thunderous roar of the 30mm Bushmaster cannon screamed through the night as the indiscriminate bullets rained down on rebels and civilians alike.
"Mother fucker!" One asked.
"Who gave these assholes A-10's?" Captain Santagraci remarked.
"Who knows? But I'm not going to sit by and let these shitheads go without a fight!""
The man then pulled out an SA-7 Grail, and locked into the enemy aircraft's heavy engines. After a brief pause he fired, and the missile accelerated towards the jet. Quick to get out of there, the jeep quickly drove of into the woodlands.

Roughly forty or so rebels had been killed. Fighting was still street-to-street, between what had less than an hour ago been buildings and was now a burning graveyard.
"NO SURRENDER! NO RETREAT!!! WE WILL BE FREE!!!" A man screamed as he threw a Molotov cocktail down into advancing soldiers. The rebels continued to fight down to the last bullet, and then attacked visciously with available melee weapons, such as sycles and axes. They had no need to live, just a need for freedom, in one way or the other...

The Beach-Head

Despite the blistering fire from the enemy, the Ruskyetan soldiers continued to force their way forward, ripping through enemy lines with rolling tanks and fearsome courage.

Many took to blasting the humvees with grenade launchers, or strafing the kengburgian infantry with raking fire from their galils.

Antilov was surprised by the progress his men made against the stout enemy resistance...the kengburgians gave them hell, and the Ruskyetan soldiers returned it 10 fold.

It didnt drop casualties, however...25,000 quickly meeting their demise against the enemy machine guns, not even counting the Ruskyetans who fell wounded.

At the gun, things werent going well...the Ruskyetan artillerymen had to cease firing the great gun, and took to using great hoses connected to the sea to cool it.

The shrapnel from those hot shells rained down upon them, but they refused to falter in their
protection of the weapon.

The Ruskyetan tanks took ten casualties in the rolling battle of guns and armor...burning hulls that were now used as cover against the enemy.

Propolnyet Ablaze!

All over Propolnyet, skirmishes and small battles erupted between the Republican Guard and the so-called freedom fighters...bullets flew from both sides, and many lives were lost in the vicious street to street combat.

Many guardsmen, regardless of their fearsome training, still didnt walk away mentally unscathed...the destroyed houses, bodies in the streets, childrens toys scattered...it truly took a toll.

A group of five guardsmen patrolled a street in chechnagrad, a small capitalist city...it was horrific to see the devestation; but they had a job to do.


The ruskyetan navy

The fleet sailed to strike against the oncoming reinforcements for the enemy, the yuri and kalinagrad in the lead, 15 destroyers, 15 frigates, and 9 submarines.

They were to tear the enemy a new one...stop them before those men could arrive and drive back their brothers on the land.

The Beach-head Skies

Ruskyetan fighters had arrived on the scene...Vk fighters and C-34 interceptors, both designed to inflict casualties on both ground and air targets alike.

Breaking off into battle wings, they began cruising low and maneuvering, joining in the dying dogfight and attacking ground targets.
