route through home [FAR only, Ploon, pelekor]

Postby Alidina » Sun Mar 03, 2013 10:45 am

the chief Engineer watched as the 13th gate was established on the Coalition side of the gate, in its first test fire the classical blue lightning that was associated with the coalition and its 4thD arced between the consecutive rings of the gate. After a bright flash the Ship-drone who had been affectionately named Larry by the workers came through the gate unharmed and safe for the 12th time. satisfied that the gate was working once Larry's live report came in the Engineer brought up plans for the 14th gate and its two spring beacons, that would extend the range of the signal. as he was reading over the report a crewmen floated down in the zero G environment, that was also characteristic of Coalition Utilitarianism, and told him the command ship was about to make activate its drive. after grabbing the nearest bar the engineer thought the whole process of FTL in his head just for fun. the ship through vast amounts of energy acting with forces of the universe pulled its self up into the 4th D where distance was anything but linear and light speed was not imposed bolted away in a hazy of blue static and a short shock wave.

4,601 parsec later and one month later the construction fleet arrived at the first way point with no issues, but then they realized something they were in a system or at least at it barest edge. The hundreds of engineers and astronomers had calibrated all the equipment to follow the exact route they would place the stargates and waypoints at, and it was impossible to deviate from that with out recalculating the entire system. The engineer opted to do preliminary scan of the system because the Waypoint could function in a system it would just turn the planets to molten rocks and quarter the stars life span which could threaten the safety of the waypoint rig. While he did this the Captain of the ship order a message to be sent to one of David's companies adjucts asking what to to.

after reading over the reports the Engineer realized there was life, intelligent sapient life on this system, as he stood up to go tell DC to call it off one of the crewmen came in and told him to they were to go through with it, regardless of ruining the system. Obviously the Engineer tried to explain it to the crewmen before he stomped and simply went to a Interstellar transmitter where he called up the same adjunct and tried to explain it to him.

To ploon
We are sorry there as been a extended delay in the construction of the route but we will meet schedule. I hope the construction on your side is going as well and that my workers are getting the job done under your command.

Aslock walked into the cockpit where his pilots were waiting. He didn't know any of them, but it seemed like they know each other since they were laughing at an anecdote. When they saw him entering the cockpit their faces changed to a serious face, lacking of all expressions. Their skin colour quickly turned from a light green to a brownish blue, and both performed a military salute at the same time.

"At ease, gentlemen. Is the ship ready?", Aslock asked.
"Not yet, captain. We are performing the last weight tests before we can take off, captain.", said the pilot to his right. Soft red patches started to appear in Aslock skin.
"How long is it going to take? We are supposed to deliver this load in an hour."
"We will be ready in around ten minutes, sir."
"Send me a message when the ship is ready.", said Aslock, while turning around and walking out the cockpit.

"Erhm, Voin?", the communications tech said.
"Yes?", Voin asked.
"Yeah, we- we are getting some strange readings in the outer side of the system."
"What do you mean with strange readings?"
"I don't know, the sensors are detecting some kind of strange... signal. I don't understand this, it's like nothing we've seen before."
"Hmm...", Voin said. "Dismiss it, but keep an eye on that sensor. If you get that signal again, warn me."

in the bridge one of the Armsmen, The term used to denote non nationalized soldiers, allowed the Engineer-Chief to talk to the Adjunct over the comms relay. After some discussion they decided to make contact and not destroy the system. The Engineer recognized the need for a common language so opted to send a mass frequency broadcast and get the aliens attention while the Rever order his men to bring defense and weapons online.

The message that was sent to the aliens was fairly basic pictures with their written word next to them describing numerous physical things plus a simplified explanation of Adins math system. once this was sent they sent a more detailed passage that worked with the concrete words they sent, hopefully this would be enough to iron out the language barrier that would exist.

We come in peace, we would like to know about your people.

short, simple and to the point if they took that has hostile then the Corporation would have no issue writing them off as evil and irradiating their system.

in the coalition any soldier or soldier like career that is not part of a national military is refered to as an Armsmen this comes back from a much older tradition the ranks as like this though

Arms-Rever - Rvr - Commodore
Arms-Aire - Aire- Officer of some form (this comes from Galbadia where the leader of a unit of Blades or legions was called Bladaire or legionnaire)
Arms-Brigadier - Brg - NCO of some form
Arms-men - Arms - grunts and crewmen

"Ok, Voin, this is not a weird signal. This is a message.", the communications technician said. "I'm getting images with what appears to be a word next to them, and it's not written in pelekor."
"Are you sure about that?", Voin asked. They had been getting the same weird readings for the last 30 minutes, and they had already warned the security officers of the spaceport. In about 10 minutes, three men with appearance of authority and assault rifles came into their centre. He had ordered all the technicians, five in total, to start checking the same area.
"Yeah, and they've also sent us something that doesn't look like the rest of the words. Maths, maybe? Yeah, it has to be that."
Now the three men were interested. They had been all this time waiting by the door, blocking the exit, but now, one of them stepped up and said, "Make the computer translate that. Orders from the Council." He turned around, gave a signal to one of his men, who nodded and quickly got out of the room.

"At least... We are already late.", Aslock said when he felt the ship taking off. It was a frigate, but their mission was not military. They were transporting prisoners to the moon in an effort to empty pelekor prisons. He was checking the cryogenic cells when he received a message.

"Attention, all units. Abort mission, ignore the delivery. You have been assigned a new mission. Proceed to fly to the coordinates sent. This is a code red." Aslock was astonished enough when he heard this message. Code Red was the highest threat level possible, and it could only be issued directly by the Council. "This is not a simulation, I repeat. This. Is. Not. A. Simulation. Admiralty over."

The the commander of this mission listened to the DIMAR officer who was monitering activety in the system since they arrived. What interested the Commanding officer was the ship that was changing its heading however all he could do was order Combat drones, the size of small frigates, to defensive positions around the command ship.

The Cheif Engineer who had more authority than someone of his rank was normal granted do to the construction confines of this mission stood in silence awaiting the return message.

Reaen let go of the comms key and turned to face the Council screen. It was a direct image connected to the opulent council meeting room in Ackan, the capital. All 134 councilors were there, one for each nation in Nemil, and Reiso, the head ambassador, who also acted as the head of government and as a moderator in the Council, was standing behind a lectern in the middle of the room. The camera slowly hovered towards him, and he started to talk.

"Once you have reunited the fleet, admiral, approach them, carefully. We have uploaded a message to the ship's computer, send it when close enough and try to establish contact with them. We can not risk our homeworld security."

"Understood, Head Ambassador."

Bridge
About ten minutes later

Reaen was nervous. Everybody was nervous. It was difficult to see, but his long, white jacket, adorned with medals and symbols of the pelekorian navy was shaking slightly. The pelekor species had always expected to contact an alien species and had made preparations in that case. But they were not ready. It was the first contact with a supposedly sentient species outside of their own, with probably more advanced technology than them. And it was in their home system.

"Send the message", Reaen said.
"Should we deploy the fighters, admiral?" a commander shouted across the room.
"Negative. We do not want to look like a threat. Get them ready, though."

The message had been sent. It contained the translation to pelekor of the words they had sent, or at least the closest equivalent. And, along with it, a message that invited the aliens to meet in a neutral territory.

When the Aliens sent back their response the communication officer played it over a few times to ensure he had the message down, once he was certain he called it up to the Rever, Engineer and the image of the Adjunct all of whom were growing particularly sour with this turn of events. before anyone could speak up the Rever firmly shot down the idea of a neutral meeting and explained his reasoning to his equals. After a short conversation they agreed on a course of action and the Rever gave the orders to the crew.

Once they were ready a response was sent back to the aliens infoming them of the opinion and idea.
We believe communication via established channels would be better as there is no "neutral" space in a system clearly controlled by your people. Space is empty and always neutral therefore I think simply video and audio communication between us will more than suffice for any diplomacy for the time being

"Translated, sir!", a comms technician said.
"Put it on the main screen.", Reaen answered. A big hologram popped out on a wall, displaying a few lines of text. Some words were missing, but it could be easily understandable.
"Send them an affirmative answer, I am going to open a direct channel with the Head Ambassador. I am not authorized to deal with this." His skin turned from a blueish brown to a deep blue, getting ready to speak to the Ambassador.

OOC: Start the communications whenever you want, we are going to use a hologram.
