The children were playing in the street, spinning around in fun. The old man on the corner sat watching them, smoking his pipe, a curl of smoke drifting upwards. A mother doted on her ill son in their home. No-one paid any mind to the solitary plane going overhead. Planes were usual in Das-Husland, as was the police brutally suppressing everyone. A quiet break was what people needed. A bright flash blinded the children, and a roaring blast enveloped the village in nuclear fire. Screams from the hunters, and the blast radius shuddered and enveloped them.

*deep within Das-Husland's command center*

"Thats the third test this week" said the minister for work units, "Production is going to suffer dramatically". The minister for defense scoffed "Its nothing, we need the data for drops and how to treat the burns and radiation poisoning, our NBC medical teams are receiving great training".

"Gentlemen" spoke the leader with authority, causing all to jolt and look up. "We need to continue these tests, both on civilian targets AND on terrain. Our sea tests in particular are looking shakey".

Out satellite in orbit picked up a rather large flash of light coming from your nation moments ago. We wish to inquire as to what happened, and if we should be worried. We await an answer.

Novun Eastern Security Command was a bustling, roaring, hive of activity. Formations of soldiers marched to their designated helicopter embarkation pads. Support personnel loaded trucks and transport planes full of the necessary supplies of war. Transport helicopters were wheeled out of hangars and checked over by their pilots. Tension could be seen everywhere, from the grim faces of the embarking soldiers, to the road rules strictly enforced upon vehicles by the MPs.

Lieutenant-General Caucus watched the activity from his command post. Around him his staff were packing up equipment and documents, preparing to board the Command Chopper that would take them to the battlefield. Das-Husland had completed their third nuclear weapon test. The Novun Security Council had decided that enough was enough, and the 12th Foreign Security Corps was given orders to oversee and enforce the disarmament of all nuclear weapons programs in Das-Husland. The ground based component of the Corps had already been underway for 3 weeks now, and it was time for the five divisions of Airborne Cavalry to begin their operations. Major assaults would be undertaken on all identified nuclear bases. The strictest rules of engagement were in effect, and soldiers would only fire if fired upon. The airforce was on full alert, and ready to intercept any nuclear weapons that were launched against the Novun forces.

The ground attack could not begin until all nuclear weapons were found and disabled. Nuclear disarmament would be enforced, for the good of the world.

Lieutenant-General Caucus took one last look at his men, and then turned and boarded his command helicopter. If all went to plan, no blood would be spilt, and no major damage would be done to civilian infrastructure. But Caucus had not witnessed a conflict yet where everything went to plan.

The cries of civilians was loud in the medical camps. The wounded treated with precision efficiency, injected with iodine, showered and had their burns expertly dressed. The dying and too sick to be treated were taken outside and euthanized. A single shot to the back of the head. The pile of bodies already was quite high, and the smell of burning bodies filled the air.

The leader of Das-Husland is broadcast on a public channel. "Citizens of Das-Husland, today we are gathered in praise of science and of progress for our mighty nation." He is walking through the rubble of a nuclear bombed village.
"Our forces have used 3 small villages as living experiments to both see the damage of a nuclear blast, and to afford our medical teams the opportunity to fine tune our medical techniques in case of bombings by other nations. The destruction caused by our nation was significant, but we need this to help our country, our nation achieve a better way of life"

The real-time broadcast is followed by large scale rioting in several of Das-Husland's major cities.

Inside the bustling, contemporary building that housed the government, an arena full of officials listened silently as a message courier described the test.
"The nation of Das-Husland has recently tested nuclear weaponry on civilians... There have reportedly been multiple tests, including at sea, on terrain and civilians."
Outraged politicians began shouting and deploring the news. The leader of the government cleared his throat and spoke when the clamour stopped.
"This is most certainly an outrage, yes, but I fear more than just the safety of Das-Husland's citizens. All that lies between us and them is the Borderlands of Nidraco. If they fall, we're next. We need to inform the security minister now!"

Seat number one, the glorious ruler of all of The Armed Republic, started speaking. All went quiet:
'The nation of Das-Husland has commited various nuclear experiments. They seek to make their own nuclear weapons, and have already made them. Our operatives are trying to get more information.'
Other seats started shouting.
'This is an outrage! We must stop them!' seat 18, the Minister of Foreign Affairs shouted angrily.
'Das-Husland has always been an ally of ours, and they are in our region! I say we support them!' the Lord General, on seat 3, shouted.
'That is correct.' the second seat, the leader of the Armed Republic's foreign operatives, said calmly. All went quiet.
'Another nation is mobilising it's units to invade Das-Husland at this very moment. This is an outrage! they are part of our region, and hence they are our allies! They are invading our region! I say we mobilisde the forces, and support Das-Husland!'
A roar of approval resonated through the room. Nearly all agreed. The Glorious Ruler stood up.
'So be it. Send message to Das-Husland that we will stand by them in repelling any invaders.'

The sound of marching feet echoed loudly through Das-Husland as the Leader mulled over the latest developments.

"In order to create a state, one must destroy all opposition, and deny all dissent. The village of Grosney has long been a thorn in Das-Husland's side."

24 hours after the press release, the leader is shown on television publicly. "To those foreigners whom I know are watching, we are conducting legitimate scientific experiments. Those people whom we cull are either enemies of the state, or dissenters. Our last nuclear test will occur in 24 hours time almost exactly. It will be on the village of Grosney. I will invite all to come and observe. Our carrier jets will be en route at your beck and call.

"I would like to increase our nuclear capacity by 15 percent by next fiscal year, however if we get invaded due to these needed tests it would set our nuclear profiency back by over 50 percent. In other words, We need to stop before invasion becomes an issue."

"We will go ahead with the testing" said the Leader, "But we shall evacuate the village beforehand, and insert dummies and animals into range. The results may vary from humans, but the premise remains the same"

The whine of helicopter rotors was loud as 250 osprey and chinook helicopters landed, and the riot police and military police began rounding up the children, men and women of Grosney, they were given ten minutes to pack their bags. Some refused to leave the village even given the scale of threat. A few children couldn't be found, out in the woods.

The leader of Das-Husland is broadcast live from Grosney. "Nations of the world, I broadcast this today to put forward your faith in Das-Husland, our soldiers and military cannot dislodge all of the inhabitants of the village of Grosney. Given the scope of threat towards Das-Husland, and the radical hatred also seen in some broadcasts, we shall still be going ahead with the drop."

*The towns sirens blare twice*
"We do not intend to commit genocide on our own country, but seek the scientific advancement of Das-Husland and the ability to use the strongest weapons to counter other countries numerical advantages, as well as their militistic bent. Thank you"

The leader of Das-Husland stood in the command center of Hell-Dasland. "switch up to Defcon 2, defensive preparedness". The lighting changed to a red hue, and more of the computers came on, to which more aides scuttled out of the darkness to man the computers. The village of Grosney stood on the map. and the Leader simply said "It is time, do the run"

The village of grosney was still full of people, The first people knew was the MP and riot police started embarking in the helicopters. Many of the villagers panicked, trying to throw their children into the helicopters, most simply had their ramps or doors shut. Some villagers tried to drive off, few could afford a decent car.

Ten minutes later, the bomber "Jerichos revenge" based in the Air force base "Forgotten drives" got the order to divert path and activate their payload. A cruise missile dropped out of it's internal bomb bay, and began the seven minute journey to Grosney.

The detonation of the cruise missile was huge, a 45 kilometer radius was affected by the explosion and blast wave, killing all of the civilians in the area. Two of the chinooks were caught in the blast and forced down. The light of a new sun shone briefly over Das-Husland.

Marching. For 10 miles thats all we did. March. Of course it was parade, a sending off parade. It was hard to be sad, but hard to be jubilant at the same time. We all knew we were going off to fight a nation that wasn't afraid to nuke it's own people. None of us knew if we were ever going to see the streets of our home city again....alive at least. The bands played the national anthem, some people stood on cars and cheered, others, parents, grandparents, girlfriends, sisters, brothers, cried. They cried a mixture of sad but proud tears, they were sending their loved ones off to war.

We marched until we arrived at the ship, titled simply the Victor. Many of us, including myself, threw out our numbers and email addresses on cards, asking people to call and write us. For we knew this was going to be a long war.

"Our job has been to monitor the ability of Das-Husland medical and quick response teams to a nuclear attack within our borders" "We cannot do this without recourse to either bombing inhabited villages, or irradiating civilians purposefully" "As the cost of radiation chambers is so high per person, we have dropped a nuclear device on a number of villages".

"those nations who wish to declare war on Das-Husland, because our lack of humanity, we ask this. Remember the nuclear war of 1918. The destruction of Enimia by nuclear weaponry and the lack of ability to treat the injured because of the failure of knowledge of radiation related injuries."

The leader of das-husland then intercedes "Nations of the world whom are on the brink of war, or disamanent with us. We will retaliate with extreme force, including thermobaric devices, and minefields to defend our country and our way of life"

**A very threatening warning is issued to Das-Husland state after learning of spy intelligence from within the status of the rumored decimated cities**

**The president, walks off-stage without saying another word and is later rumored to be talking to generals about a first-strike with the heard words "all we got..."**

Consider this a warning. If you continue, this will be what happens. If you stop and become a socialist nation like ours, we will let you off. Even if you become capitalist and stop killing your people, we shall not fight you.
Besides, there are better ways to test nuclear weapons. In desert for example.
