Fans
Obnoxious and dangerous. Have that small-country, something-to-prove brand of rabid nationalism. Khorsunis aren't really a footballing culture, but hooliganism is something they've taken to quickly in just about all international sporting competitions. Khorsuni crowds don't respond to fights by pulling the combatants apart, they pile on and get stomping - and a fight between a Khorsuni and a foreigner will always turn into a crowd game of "stomp the foreigner!"

Loud and fond of chanting racial slurs and profanity; some uniquely Khorsuni pejoratives to listen for include zavholakta ("syphilites!"), bayzhohakarta ("penis eaters!"), and hanakhta ("eunuchs!"). Will slur whites and blacks as nagbanta and nagzabelta respectively ("pink-asses" and "black-asses"). Would especially like to see their team beat the New African Republic's, and many will be eager to start fights with the New African fans and to wreck their nice, pretty stadiums.

Fans
Generally easy-going people, though rampantly nationalistic. Are prone to excessive violence if provoked (a sad byproduct of the Cottish Flu Pandemic and resulting Patriotic Liberation War). Cots are generally very passionate about football (soccer), and are in it for the sport. However, they will stand their ground, even to the point of physical violence, if provoked by other fans. Considering that Cottish male adults are prone to getting quite drunk as a result of the pre-/post-game partying, and since almost all Cottish males have served their mandatory military service and learned hand-to-hand combat, this is almost guaranteed to get very ugly, very fast. On the plus side, Cottish fans will leave massive amounts of cash in host nation.

Well behaved fans who are extremely passionate about football and extremely nationalistic towards their team. Fans are banned from drinking at all sporting events in the Empire and therefore find it rude to drink at sporting events in foreign countries. Causing any incident in a foreign nation, be it physical violence towards other fans or damaging of property in the host nation, is seen as shameful and an embarrassment towards the Empire, therefore fans remain well behaved throughout most events though taking part in healthy banter with other nations fans is always encouraged and enjoyed.

Fans enjoy a fierce rivalry with both the Chinese National Football team and the Layartebian National team whom they beat 2-0 in the World Cup Final held in Hi No Moto.

Imperial Football Fans are a boisterous bunch who enjoy their sport and enjoy supporting their team, whom they expect to do well. Imperial Fans are perhaps best known for their sense of humour, whilst they are rarely out and out racist (and the Imperial Football Association cracks down heavily when they are), they will normally make fun of their opponents and their fans (and anything else they can think of). For the most part Imperial Fans will are not physically violent, however they are generally a very protective group and if attacked it is likely that any other Imperial fans around will come to the aid of the beleaguered fans. As a result there is a tendency amongst Imperial fans for trouble to escalate as the fans will not allow anyone else to pick on, abuse or attack their own, which naturally escalates quickly. The Imperial Football Association also cracks down hard on anyone who is responsible for starting the violence, which can include total bans from travelling to countries in which an International football game is being held.

So Earth II is back in a France-style pickle but no worries.

So here's the situation, both RomeW and Western Averi are claiming some of the same land. Western Averi wants to resurrect the Theocracy of Amigard in its fullest; RomeW wants to reunite the Roman Empire of antiquity, both admirable goals but it leads to a series of conflicts and contestations.

So here's the scoop: claim for claim.

There are some claims where RomeW holds the primary and some where Western Averi holds the primary. There are others where there is no contestation.

DO NOT go back and edit your previous posts - that would be dishonest and I have screenshots of them just in case so let's be reasonable about this (I haven't decided on a "punishment" for this but it won't be nice). Tempers always flare in these situations but there's no reason they have to here.

So here are the charts:

• All claims that Western Averi holds primary claim to without contestation to he can RP freely (unless future contestation arises - then we'll deal with that separately)
• All claims that RomeW has primary claim to but Western Averi is contesting are being RP'd in Mission Black: The Illyrian Candidate
• All claims that Western Averi has primary claim to but RomeW is contesting are not being RP'd yet

The way the contestations work - the primary claimant has the thread and the contestor posts in that thread. Contestations go by what has been RP'd so far. To date, nothing has been RP'd yet in the lands that Western Averi is contesting from RomeW - and vice versa - so we have a clean slate here (again original material has been perserved).

Because this is very convoluted and will undoubtedly attract other RPers and 500 opinions let's put this to bed before it starts. Don't offer your two cents publically if you aren't an Earth II Mod. I don't care what gets said over telegram, e-mail, IRC, etc. but publically on this thread if you are not a mod please do not make matters worse (or try to help make them better).

What I will advise is that both parties start a new thread for all of these contested & uncontested claims. This will keep them in one place. Do you have to? No. You can do two or three threads if you want - that's your right.

As it stands now - RomeW you have to contest the aforementioned claims from Western Averi; Western Averi you have to contest the aforementioned claims from RomeW; what has been RP'd stands.

You may decide between yourselves how you want to do this but don't let timers expire (because I know people will be counting down to the hour). All timers begin as of THIS posting.

Here's a couple of things about this war:

-First of all, Western Averi and I are pretty close to an agreement on a land arrangement (as far as I understand). Personally, I have no intention of fighting a war over land (since I don't find that kind of RPing even remotely enjoyable), so I'm doing all that I can to avoid one.

-Second of all, since I'm sure the first point will disappoint some of you, I'd like to point you guys to my current thread in the area, “The Illyrian Candidate”. The central figure in that story is a warlord looking to achieve worldwide dominance through two means:

1) An army of zombies. Yes, it's possible- cyclosporin, a drug used in organ transplants, has been known to cause mutism.
2) The facilitation of a website called “The Virus” that's a wiki for criminals, detailing how to commit crimes and how to avoid getting caught. I think of this as a worldwide thing (since the Internet is worldwide), and I'd say an organization that's interested in causing anarchy should raise some eyebrows amongst the global community, not just in Rome.

Furthermore, I have a story that's taken parts from “The Blacklist”, “The Mentalist”, “White Collar” and “Criminal Minds”. It also has female royalty- the Byzantine Empress, Alexia Comnenus, who has been kidnapped by our anarchist along with the Roman Special Crimes Director Lucius Black. So a lot has happened already...but that's not all.

I learned, making claims for Turkey, that there's a town called “Batman”. Seriously, look it up- it exists. So the imaginative one in me salivates at the idea that Gotham City can very well exist in E2...it'd just be at Lake Van, not on the Hudson. This isn't set in stone, but with a city called “Batman”, how can you resist having a story without some kind of Dark Knight reference?

So here's what I'm thinking. If you guys really want a conflict so bad, then I'm inviting you all in. Certainly there are a lot of angles to explore.

Or, if “The Illyrian Candidate” isn't your thing, then I say we have an OOC thread to hash out some ideas for one big Middle Eastern conflict that we'd been denied when Gliskor went caput. Or, we don't have to do the Middle East at all- we can figure out some other conflict to do. I'm never at a loss for ideas.

If you and WA are close to a private agreement then yes don't reply "YES" to the above post of mine. Since the arrangement is contingent upon both of you starting an RP - everyone will note that they are to hold as well until both parties commence. In that case - I will start the timers when both parties agree/disagree. Mind you this doesn't mean ignore (which I don't see either of you doing). Please also work out the deal as quickly as possible to avoid it lagging out there - I know everyone is anxious to get going on all sides.
