This is the current limitation on land claims. As you can see there is a maximum ceiling and it is a hard limit that you reach with 8 billion people. Now NS populations notwithstanding what is the interest level to increasing the overall limit. Show of hands (I'll leave voting open through the end of July unless we get everyone's vote) in a simple majority. Who wants to see the ceiling increased (see bottom of post for what new levels would be)?

Decree 5, Provision 2: The maximum ceiling for claims is 6,500,000 mi² (16,834,922 km²). If Give/Take Allowed is "Yes" then this indicates that there is an overrun buffer of 50,000 mi² (129,499 km²).

There's no real formal arguments - it's more do you want to raise or not? Nothing major simple yes/no.

I must say that I am pleased to see so many responses already. Five out of fourteen is pretty good so far. With any luck we can know before the end of the month and implement / not implement accordingly.

So in tweaking my navy to remove everything based on the battle group and move to plug-and-play units I have reduced my navy a bit. I now have 1,932 total ships in the ILN. Of these there are 160 submarines (112 SSN + 48 SSBN/SSGN), 722 combat warships (140 LPD/LSD, 112 LFS, 6 BCGN, 8 BBGN, 20 CVN, 10 CVAN, 28 LHA/LHD, 28 CVHG, 80 DLGN, 40 CGN, 80 DDEN, 136 DDGN, 28 MCM, 6 PC/PCM/PF), and 1,050 support ships (1,034 surface + 16 submarines).

This comes out to a pretty good ratio of 54-46 support-to-combat. I've also rejiggered the fleets.

I'll then be starting another thread where we'll see the development of the forced marriage between La Plata and the RSA, as well as La Plata's equivalent of a royal marriage as Felix and Matías tie the knot. If anyone sends a representative to the wedding, they may want to sit on Matías's side of the venue. Felix's side will be packing more heat than a small nation.

Helpful hint: If you go back to the first page, re-read the first posts, then download the spreadsheet containing the territories ("E2 Land Spreadsheet") and add up the territorial sizes of each of the territories that you're claiming, then make sure that summed up number isn't higher than the limit as per your population count as shown on the front page on nationstates.net, then post a revised application. If done correctly, everything should be good!

Looking forward to having someone other than an NPC to RP with on my eastern frontiers again.
