So who is the best person to buy ships [combat] from? Or who would be willing to sell them? Not looking for anything bigger than a destroyer really, mostly after destroyers and patrol vessels, although a cruiser might be nice for a flagship.

For small surface combatants (patrol vessels and fast attack craft) I can offer two designs. They're not major escorts - anything larger I do not have offerings for:

MOPAC class
> Modular and common patrol craft with 300, 450, 600, 1,800, and 2,400 ton options. The 300 & 450 are FAC, the 600 is a small PC, the 1800 is a PC, and the 2400 is a small LCS. They're mainly for littoral but they can all do fine on the open seas (limited more by range and supplies than by design).

Druid class
> Small, lightly armed fast attack and patrol craft ideal for littoral operations against smugglers, drug runners, and that manner of criminal.

A group of concerned parishioners and soccer moms has petitioned the government of Layarteb to outlaw heavy metal music, which they fear is a bad influence on youngsters.

So this is the issue I just received. Layarteb is now promoting the arts. Parishioners needs to recognize that the Layartebian government cares not about their religious beliefs and that soccer moms have zero voice.

"Whoa, man... what's with the, like, censorship and stuff?" asks Falala Trax, scruffy-haired bassist of the popular speed metal band The Destroyinators. "You can't, like, censor the music, man. That's how we express ourselves! Every bass beat is me baring my soul! Every howl is me complainin' about how my parents tried to kick me out of their basement! Besides, what's wrong with Satan? He's just misunderstood anyway. I say promote the arts, man!"

With any luck I can conclude Jump in the Fire over the next two weeks. I have five posts written and queued for the thread and there won't be many more after they are posted.

All posts are now written for Jump in the Fire and the RP will conclude in a short time. There are 103 posts in total and that means I have nine more queued as drafts to post into the thread. Have some patience and then you may read the whole RP. I'll try to rapid post one per day if I can remember.

So activity is a bit on the low side but that could just be because in May you all have finals. Regardless, I'm thinking of getting a group RP soon and with any luck I can get someone to play the bad guy (don't volunteer it's already chosen). The premise of the RP is pretty much non-existent right now but I want to get some input. It would not be an RP with a set storyline so it would be fully dynamic. The only things preset would be the initial conditions - beyond which it's free form. It can be cheesy and campy, I don't mind.

It would take place in the Mediterranean Sea around nowish and it wouldn't necessarily need to span weeks or months. It would be a singular incident of a Layartebian-flagged cruise liner hijacked by a James Bond like villain (with capable henchmen - Roger Moore era can die in a fire). I went this way because Islamic terrorists are boring and it would be better to have a proper villain with mercenaries for henchmen who aren't terribad. Various players can RP in an official "national" capacity and they can also RP people on-board the cruise liner if they want.

That's about all we have right now and I know it isn't much but I started forming this idea at 20:27 - about two hours ago. So do you have interest? It would probably move quickly at some parts but slowly in others. I don't want to make it dependent on one person to post (this way the whole RP doesn't slog to a halt if someone doesn't post for three weeks). To those who want to post everyday it would fit and to those who wanted to post much less often that would be suitable as well. Since it would just be a simple story and not claim dependent there would be 0 requirements for posting.

I'd rather this be independent of other peoples' RPs this way it doesn't involve waiting on things or story lines that people have to follow. The idea being the less complicated the ideal.

I am currently working on a non-claim story as well, but would be interested in also plugging into this one.

Evidently Damian Lewis is British yet after hearing him speak in his natural voice I have concluded that his fake American voice is far more realistic than his real British voice. Thus I hereby propose that the United States draft him to US nationality and we'll give I dunno Brad Pitt* to Britain.

I don't mean it as a slight or that Lay ripped it off. I'll be clear on that. Just that some of the themes will be similar to Lay's book and the TV series, themes that I am interested in.
