Viktor had recently received word that Edward would live from his injuries. The bullet that hit him in the neck merely grazed him and, thanks to his quick pressure to the area, he will survive. Viktor sighed with relief. He was not ready to lose another comrade to a damn communist.

Just as he sat down and pick up some cold coffee, the private that had arrived earlier showed up again with more news. And from the look on his face, it was bad news. Viktor steeled himself for what was coming next.

"What is it, son," he asked. The private took a breath before he answered.

"Sir, the colonial president's residence was hit not to long after he was shot. No explosives, but there is evidence of forced entry. There are casualties..." The private stopped talking after two children were rushed into the ER. My God, no, Viktor thought. Edward's children looked to be in critical condition, with bullet wounds and a few stab wounds.

Those communist bastards, Viktor thought angrily. Ramses will pay for this. Viktor rushed after the doctor in charge and told him to give the children the best medical care that the hospital could offer and no less. Or else. The doctor nodded nervously for he knew the consequences if he failed. Viktor watched as Isabella and Thomas were being worked on from the observation window.
