OOC: a PMC is a private military company. They are basically private companies that hire thousands of trained soldiers to make their own military, then sell the usage of their military to others. After a nice lunch with his children (Isabella had yet to forgive Edward), Edward went into his office to find that his secretaries and cabinet members running around like mad men and the hallway that led up to his office full of papers. He glanced over at Viktor, who merely shrugged. Edward walked into his office and found Athena sitting on his desk, clearly waiting for his arrival. "About time you got back," she replied a little coldly. "What the hell is going on around here," Edward asked in some anger. He rarely let his emotions enter his voice, but that just showed how tired he was. Athena stood up as Edward stood behind his desk. "All of the Ardentes has gone mad that is what is going on," Athena replied in a still icy voice. She pushed a small report to Edward detailing the events of the past few hours. He was shocked to hear what was going on. And all over a few cellphones and a strictly defensive measure? The Ardentes really had gone mad. "I don't believe this," Edward breathed as he finished. "Well believe it,"" Athena started,"because as of right now, you are the only sane diplomat on this continent. So what will you do about this crisis?" Edward sat down and thought for a moment. He was in something of a pickle. If Singpu were to be invaded, he would be obligated to assist the peaceful nation. However, such a move could provoke a hostile response from the NAE or Volvek or Great Holy Prussia or... hell the entire Ardentes, except the SWoD. On the other hand, if he were to stay out of the conflict, it would mean the total destruction of a peaceful colony and great ally. And to go onto the same level as the other colonies was completely out of the question. The big question was how to come out as the big guy amongst these children who only seek to fight and hide behind a veil of peace to hide the hunt for a war. Edward still didn't have much of a military, just about 18 helicopters, 100 jet aircraft, 30 bombers, 100 APCs, 3 pieces of artillery, fifty tanks, 4 cruisers, 1 carrier and about 1,000 soldiers. Not the sort of numbers you would want in a fight, especially against the big players. He pondered for a moment before he said anything. "I will not leave Singpu alone if a conflict were to break out, yet I do not wish to be childish and throw in my meager military to fight against other children. Not to mention the fact that the use of nuclear arms is a very real and ominous possibility if a conflict broke out. However, I cannot just sit here and let an ally die without any assistance from me. I wish only for a peaceful solution to this, and the only way that could happen is if Singpu agreed to stop selling their SingTech internationally," Edward concluded. It wasn't quite what Athena expected as an answer, but she did find comfort in the fact that Edward did not want to participate in ganging up on Singpu. "Well the only way to do that is if the leader of Singpu orders for the technology to not be exported to other nations. And as of right now, you are the only one who could convince Singpu to stop the export," she said with warmth in her voice. Edward nodded and asked Viktor to secure a link with the Sinpuan leader. Within a minute, Edward was speaking with the Singpuan leader. "Mister minister, I am terribly sorry for the recent events that occurred. I will keep to my word and still be an ally of Singpu. And as an ally, I must ask that you agree to not export your SingTech to any of the colonies who do not want it and you need to move your troops away from your border. Only then will the other nations back off," Edward explained. The Holy Minister began to object, but Edward cut in. "Minister, I am sure that if any forces pursue yours, they will receive a fierce punishment from the SWoD. Trust me on this matter." The holy minister calmed down, but he still seemed uncertain when Edward finished up the conference. He then turned to Athena and said,"I would like Invictus Force to be sent to the Singpuan capital to help defend it should anything go wrong." She nodded and left to gather Invictus Force and left Edward to ponder on what to do next.
