The Reformist Party, in favor of more socialist policies, but staunch interventionism, is currently their main opposition, with Governor Hussein Fatmid running for them.

Governor Fatmid gave following speech on foreign policy at a recent campaign stop:

"Today, we face a greater threat than we have faced ever before. Even the Korean empire at its height twenty years ago could not stand against the Eastern Konclave standing now in the gates of Asia. The GKE and Tyberon now threaten all we have fought long and hard to create for the peoples of this world. However, today we do not stand united against this coalition of evil. Today, we stand we stand divided and weak. Today, there is nothing stopping Tyberon from bringing down Europe. No one stands in the way of a Korean conquest of Japan. A young military officer spoke out against the Pensic government today. Despite serious threats of execution and incarceration, he informed the world on the real contents of the cargo plane.

"I was told to keep the contents secret" He said during a world changing interview.

"However, this was too important to lie about. That is why I am going against my own country and exposing the secrets being kept. This flight was not a training mission, it was a delivery. The cargo plane in question was delivering a TR-65 neutron bomb. I was tasked with coordinating the flight in order to transport this bomb onto one of our aircraft carriers currently situated in the south of the Pacific Ocean. The plane did hit a patch of turbulence as it flew over the Asian continent. Though this may seem routine, it most certainly isn't. Neutron bombs have the potential to release enormous amounts of radiation from a relatively small explosion. That's why we didn't want anyone to touch it, the radiation released would've drastically affected the water and fish taken from the ocean. But this isn't the worst of it. The worst part of this event is the reason for it. The Pensic government was relocating this bomb so they could get a better shot at the GKE. It if for this reason, that I have put my life on the line and spoken out."

The Pensic government attempted to apprehend this officer, who wishes to remain anonymous. Fortunately for him, though, he was able to flee into international waters where Pensalum has no jurisdiction.

Pensalum has obviously denied all allegations, calling this officer a lying traitor.

In response to growing tensions with Woodstovia the Reformist Party has pushed a bill through congress banning all Woodstovian trade ships from accessing the Suez Canal or Strait of Gibraltar. All economic sanctions will be lifted when Woodstovia's neutrality is assured or it joins the UWF. In other news, President Ali has announced The Ali Doctrine in response to growing support for Fatmid. It states that Tahitoa will not intervene against any Woodstovian or Oceansian aggressive action against as long as it is not against African or UWF nations, provided that they remain neutral or join the UWF.
