And could you really shoot your own children? Or your spouse? Would you leave your town to defend the Roth, leaving it open to attack?

EDIT: The MU would be off pretty bad in this. Doctrine dictates massed fire and high rates of fire. Religion speaks of awaiting the Resurrection of the Dead and most Regular Units are Orthodox.

Inesea, how hard is it to switch to head shots when your target is less than 20 feet from you? I'm not a soldier, so I don't know, but I would think that such a mental change would not be so difficult. As far as the human connection (i.e killing your child, etc), I suppose there'd be many incidents where the individual was unable to do so, but since militia units mostly travel in pairs and groups, the odds of both of them choosing to die rather than shoot is lessened. Finally, in a zombie situation, I imagine most towns would keep their militia units to themselves. The primary purpose of the militia is to defend the town in which it is based, while their secondary purpose is to serve as a pool of better-than-average recruits for the main army to draw from when the reserves are dried up during a war with an enemy (wars with Dalruanazkal being the original and classic example). In a zombie outbreak, the militias would be expected to remain at home and protect the people, and the regular army would be expected to go through and clear the countryside of zombies, put up safe zones, and generally do the bulk of the work.

I agree with everything but the difficultly of head shots. Point blank range is relatively straightforward, but the amount of time needing to aim and get a hit on anything with significant distance can be difficult when you compound factors like stress, paranoia, and the fact that many encounters involving zombies can be at the moment at any time. That said, a militia can certainly hold it's own; but ya shouldn't be too optimistic, anything can go wrong.

Just go with sheer firepower, I'm sure your peoples got dat.

Sure, people will be effective when they understand what the zombies are, when will that come though? When would people collectively understand what they're dealing with? The beginning, those crucial moments of mobilization will be lost due to not only the zombies but the people themselves. Looting, rioting, mass exodus from affected areas, zombies wouldn't be the only thing to worry about then.

Don't start arguing about headshots and how a military would deal with it until you understand that the masses would cause unequaled amounts of damage. One of the most dangerous situations will be that there is no information about them, and thus rumors will spread about how they're either invincible or some other gobbledygook.

I think I mentioned that early on already.

Make sure you bring your pants suit from 1995, nicely complemented by your she-mullet.

Go for it, you'll get a lesson in Servothian culture in the process.

And also, do we have an in-universe Gilbert and Sullivan?

1 Corinthians 15 wrote:'Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed—in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”'

Yup. The Dominion itself would most likely give in. Since we believe in resurrection anyway, we're fine spiritually, even if we done goofed on this one matter.

Serv, I need someone to have written Alice's Adventures in Wonderland so I can use a "Down the rabbit hole" reference. I feel like Fan and Ino have multiple other cultural influences, and a Zhaoian author doesn't fit the European/American culture, really. Could you possibly have a Vaporverse Lewis Carroll equivalent?

Ho ho, we might not fit the culture, but I'm sure as hell that we can make a more whimsical story!
