Accepted, warfare during 1870 was basically like the American Civil War. They still had battle line formations but they just had better equipment, it really made it irrelevant. More deaths and all that Jazz but it all depends on how your general wants to fight.

When tensions broke out between the Nationalists and the Libertairians he choose side of the Libertairians. When they split apart he joined the military branch and became Colonel.

I was thinking of maybe putting in another character. Possibly a Libertarian Major or Captain in the cavalry. He would head a small troop (50-100) of dragoons that could do some behind the lines hit and run on the Nationalists, disrupting supply and logistics and searching out VIP targets.
Sort of like some of the Confederate irregular cavalry during the Am. Civil War. Would that be cool?

Possibly, the only mention of cavalry is that he has a horse, but I didn't see anything about unconventional tactics or the unit he would be leading. I just personally want to do a character like that. Maybe I would have a Captain serving under Colonel Schulz?
