Appearance:

Side (Nationalist or Libertarians): Nationalist
Rank: Private
Military Position: Footsoldier
Equipment: His uniform, rifle, bayonet, cartridges, cartridge box, canteen, knapsack, journal, pencil, crucifix, Bible

Bio:

Edouard Deurish was born to a poor family in one of the major cities of Treko. A quiet, surly youth, he was left orphaned by the age of 17 and was forced into the factories to stay alive. A devout Christian, he has worked hard all his life, and now is outraged by the treason of his fellow countrymen. He joined the army as soon as the war broke out, and has found the soldier's life to be an invigorating experience. He hopes to become a Sergeant before the war is over, so he can gather enough money to find a wife and support a family.

RP Samples: Unfortunately don't have one, but I'm familiar with the rules/customs and would be happy to submit a writing sample if you're feeling nervous about me.

I would like to see a writing sample.

Hey, Ayzure, you want some connection between our characters.
Mine was a devout christian as well, and a sympathetic factory owner (short work days, longer breaks, paid leave, etc)

Equipment: Musket, bayonet, ruck, journal, hardtack, pocket knife, family picture, twine ball, canteen, small whiskey flask

Bio: Gennaro is a Neu Engollonian immigrant that came to find his fortune in Treko before the troubles. He had enough money to buy a farm, but was somehow scammed out of that land by a skeezy developer, who Gennaro is convinced had Nationalist leanings. Not able to find a steady job and swindled several times, Gennaro learned some hard life lessons. He soon became a vagabond, travelling the country doing odd jobs and trying to stay out of trouble. When rumblings of war occurred, he made sure to make his way to Libertarian lines. He signed up at the nearest Libertarian militia recruiting office ready to stick it to the Nationalists, but not really aware or caring of politics beyond that.

Accepted, I've noticed you put musket. It's 1870, you would have a Dreyse needle gun.

Thanks.
Of course I would have a Dreyse Needle gun. Could you maybe give me a link to that weapon or describe it for me? I will be happy to replace his kit with whatever a Trekkish (Trekkian?) soldier of the period would have, but I didn't know.
TG me with questions if you got some, especially about GE&T or PMCs.
My Factbook
Important Neu Engollian Links.

Edouard's heart pounded as he marched forward, his brow drenched in sweat from the midday sun and the thick, rough-spun wool of his red-and-grey uniform. In the distance he heard the rippling roar of needle-gun volleys and the distant cannonade as the flank companies began to engage each other. An officer raised his sword and roared the command to halt. The company came to an abrupt stop, their boots tramping down the long grass.

Edouard gritted his teeth, clutching his rifle at port arms, wishing he could see the field ahead. Lines of men blocked his view, and the stench of the sweat around him bit at his nostrils. In his heart he knew why he was here, knew that he was simply a pawn in a scheme far greater and more noble than himself, but the fear still gnawed incessantly at his stomach. He felt nauseous, dizzy, but stood ramrod straight as he had been trained.

The officer called out another command and the first rank knelt to deliver fire. Edouard thought he could glimpse the enemy through the gaps in the line -- the Libertarians, their column wheeling into position. Was that cavalry on their flank? Lancers? His mind raced and turned to his faith. Father... I trust in you; do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me., he silently prayed, feeling for the crucifix underneath his tunic.

The first lines fired a deafening volley that made him startle. Smoke enveloped the line and Edouard found himself pushed forward by the men behind. He gripped his rifle tighter. As he stepped into position, he finally saw the foe, reeling from the first volley. He saw the wounded, pitched to the ground like rag dolls, screaming and clutching bloodied limbs. His stomach turned and he felt as if he would vomit.

"PRE-SENT!" roared the officer.

Edouard leveled his rifle toward the Libertarians. He suddenly felt a panic at where his bullet would go. Into the head of some father? Into the gut of some son! My God, he thought to himself, what is this madness?

"FIRE!"

He pulled the trigger and the rifle recoiled into his shoulder, obscuring the enemy lines once again in a puff of smoke.

can someone get a list of characters up?
Also, may I add the Local Police Garrison to my troops? I want my guy to be highly respected in the town, so it would make sense that the local police and fire brigade listen to him.

Basically, anything up to the point of 1870 is fair game. I will be putting up the gear of the common soldier.

Bascially, it's like this.
He was born in extreme poverty to a family that couldn't afford to feed him.
So, he became a pickpocket, but was sentenced to 15 years in jail because the judge was an old idiot.
After 15 years, he gets out. Breaks out more accurately, but that's not important.
Anyways, he finds a bible, reads it, and immediatley changes into an honest man, no longer the thug he was before.
Now, he owns an arms manufacturing firm, and loves all people. He is, however, afraid of the police, which ironically enough, respect him, not knowing the truth about his past.
