Army Group East

In the distance, the sound of an approaching naval force could be heard. Radar screens in installations across the eastern areas of Ultran control began to register the presence of a moderately large force on the horizon. The radar observer's face paled, even in the green light, as he turned and left the room. Soon, he was in Admiral Jones' office.

"Admiral Jones, sir!" The observer, who possessed the rank of lieutenant, saluted smartly as he came into the office. Admiral Jones looked up.

"What's the issue, Lieutenant?"

"Naval force approaching from a bearing of 090 degrees, sir!"

"Distance?"

"Around 200 miles from the channel's opening, sir!"

"Very well, Lieutenant. Thank you for informing me."

The lieutenant once again saluted smartly and left the office. Admiral Jones then began to issue a stream of orders over the various phones scattered across his desk. Within a few minutes, all naval units in and around the eastern entrance to the channel had been alerted and placed on full battle readiness, and a variety of weaponry trained to the seas outside the opening.

Similar preparations took place on the shoreline, as a variety of large-calibre artillery pieces and coastal guns were loaded, equipped and made ready for fire, while a variety of surface-to-surface missile emplacements along the former Straallian coastline were activated and primed, requiring only co-ordinates to be inserted before they could be unleashed on the approaching Thetopian naval forces.

As all this was being made ready, in the skies a new layer of attack and defence was being prepared. Around 100 fighter aircraft located in the eastern former Straallian claim were dispatched immediately toward the approaching fleet. Modelled on the Sukhoi T-50, three-quarters of these fifth-generation fighter aircraft were equipped with six Exocet missiles each, and once released the aircraft were capable of flying at at least Mach 6. Their stealth capabilities would make them extremely difficult for any ship-based system to attack and would make them the rivals of any aircraft on the island in a dogfight situation. The 25 aircraft not carrying missiles were to function as escorts.

In addition to the almost-450 Exocet missiles that were being borne towards the Thetopian fleet with great haste, the roar of missiles being launched filled the eastern sky as around 45 3M-54E Klub "Sizzler" missiles were quickly dispatched from holding facilities on the eastern coast. Equipped with a function which caused them to "sprint" to a target once they were within close range, they were almost impossible to eliminate with close-in weapon systems.

As the missiles and the aircraft screamed overhead, large military missile-carrying trucks came to a halt a few miles behind the shoreline. On board each of the 5 trucks were 2 anti-ship ballistic missiles, each of which was capable of crippling a large aircraft carrier. With the arsenal facing the Thetopian fleet, whatever its size its chances of survival were slim.

With all this taking place, four large railguns were powered up, ready to be used on any ship that strayed within their 35-mile range.

Army Group North, Thetopian Bridgehead

Once the scale of the Thetopian forces facing them became apparent, the 150,000 men of Army Group North occupying the Thetopian bridgehead stopped their attempts at advancing and instead opted for defence. A colossal, winding series of trenches were dug across and behind the front line, and the Paris Guns on the southern bank of the channel were supplemented with another 25, bringing the total number to around 60. In combination with the 5 800mm heavy guns placed on the Ultran bank, they were able to keep up a near-continuous field of fire in front of the bridgehead's front line, protecting the bridgehead from the Thetopian military's larger numbers.

What may have seemed a precarious position was in fact far stronger than it looked. The trench network made attacks on the bridgehead incredibly difficult, while the artillery cover further hampered the potential for foreign attacks. In addition to this, the heavy steel nets and the naval deployment made supplying the forces in the bridgehead incredibly easy. It would take an incredible offensive beyond the scale the planners of the Ultran military considered practical to field to dislodge the forces.

As the bridgehead was strengthened and made well-nigh impenetrable, Ultran fighters from the west, similarly equipped with Exocet missiles, took off into the darkening sky and flew over the west-east channel that the Ultran Navy was blockading. The blockading vessels of Thetopiat and the Liberated Counties were exceptionally vulnerable in the narrow channel, and the 100 or so planes remorselessly and relentlessly dived on the blockading vessels, picking them off one by one.

Well sir, We did outnumber them and were on their tail until two men in the back came around and fired at us with machine guns, popping our tires and injuring one of our men." The Chief softly spoke "Well... go and report this to the governor Before I TAKE YOUR BADGE!!!"

In Northern Navorgska

((I have been given permission to post on behalf of MexSpain and Lancasteros' armies so that the 3 nations can strike at the same time.))

The combined forces of MexSpain, the Rubian Empire and Lancasteros would regroup after charging the Navorgskan defensive line. The Navorgskan line would have been severely weakened from being fired upon by 3 different artillery positions and the alliance managed to breach it, holding any survivors prisoner. After a day of rest a large full scale assault would commence upon the rest of northern Navorgska. The land held by the alliance allowed for assaults from several different angles.

A second MexSpain army, identical in size to the previous one, would also join the assault from within MexSpains border.

In Southern MexSpain

Several lone Rubian fighter planes would be scouting the beaches of occupied MexSpain. Their mission would be to get as much intel as possible on Navorgskan defences near the coastline.

Assuming that the Navorgskan forces would be battered by sustained artillery fire, much to their horror, they had walked into a deathtrap. With enemy soldiers' morale dropping as their comrades flew to their deaths due to landmines, they were met with entrenched machine-gun positions. To compliment that, entrenched soldiers opened fire if the enemy arrived close enough to the first line of trenches. A combination of lasers and gunfire decimated a good portion of the attacking forces, pinning or terrifying others. From behind the lines, mortar positions would continuously bombard the attacking forces to stall their advance as much as possible.

Meanwhile, any armor attempting to breach through the defenses were forced to maneuver their way through anti-tank fortifications, often being destroyed in the process. Anti-tank mines were an often occurrence as well, preventing a good deal of enemy armor from providing fire support to their allies.

Any enemy aircraft attempting to bombard the positions would be met with a flurry of automated anti-aerial defenses, making said attempts nearly impossible without heavy casualties.

The Rubian and Lancasteros forces that charged the defensive line would sustain heavy casualties, and seeing the strength of the line would eventually back down. However with the giant MexSpain assault from the side and even behind the defensive line the situation would after some time seem dire for the defenders. Soon MexSpains forces would be on many sides of the line, bombarding the trenches with tank fire as well as infantry fire. After the Navorgskan military began focusing on the new MexSpain threat the armies of the Rubian Empire and Lancasteros would once again charge. Other defenders in the trenches would get napalm grenades thrown at them from any Rubian and Lancasteros soldiers who got close enough to the line. Meanwhile the artillery positions were given new more precise targets, targetting the anti-tank and anti-air defences. Hitting them with pinpoint accuracy. Small Rubian airplanes would also be seen crashing themselves into the trenches, performing suicide attacks and taking several defenders with them. The defensive line was now being bombarded by fire from 3 sides, and Navorgskan soldiers would get shot nearly instantly simply by revealing themselves slightly to the attackers.

As more and more Navorgskan defences were shot down by artillery bomber planes would eventually risk doing bombing runs at the line.

EDIT: Looking back, I see that there was a post from you regarding my defensive line, however. You, completely disregarding my consent, simply decided you have "won" that battle. With nothing but one post, not at all taking into account casualties, the actual assault itself, and other realistic factors, the post was god-modding.

Thus, I'm choosing not to recognize your false victory over my first defensive line, and the battle will proceed as if you never gained any land from that post in the first place. ]]

The defensive line we are assaulting is in MexSpain so I am very aware of how far you advanced. but I introduced MexSpains forces coming in on the side and slightly behind the line several posts ago. You had every chance to engage them with forces already present as you say. The only problem would be that your defensive line reaches nearly all the way to the MexSpain border I assume. Otherwise it hardly defends against my invasion. As for the 2000 troops i also stated they retreated into the area behind your line a whole day before i claimed they were located there. The construction of a new port to the south of the territory has commenced. Freight and ferry ships have arrived and have landed on a suitable inlet. Cartographers from the capital city, Panc, have arrived and commenced surveying.

((EDIT: You need to realise that the only reason we attacked that line is because MexSpain was able to get behind it. We aren't dumb enough just to charge straight at it. But apperantly its impossible for them to do so because you conveniently placed over 80 000 troops at the exact point they cross the border and flank your line.))
