Rubian stealth bombers would also commence bombing raids. Using their ability to remain undetected by enemy radars to get behind enemy lines, bombing military bases deep in Genoese lands, without operational anti-air systems.

In addition to this artillery on the MexSpain/Rubian claim would be set up from the recently ended conflict between MexSpain and Rubia. And this artillery would quickly start firing directly at the Genoese fleet, probably causing heavy damage to Genoese ships.

Bridgehead in Thetopian Land, 14th February 2013

The stench of acrid smoke and burning flesh pervaded across the bridgehead as Ultran forces continued their advance into Thetopian land. The fighting on the bridgehead had been incredibly intense, and of the initial 50,000 Ultran forces deployed, some 5,000 had perished in the fighting.

Above the front line, Ultran fighters and bombers kept up a punishing and continuous routine of bombings and strikes on ground positions, strafing enemy concentrations and deploying chemical weaponry liberally. At any one time, over 100 aircraft were in the air, with 400 more in reserve in the Johnstonian mainland and more arriving from the Confederacy with every passing day.

Since the destruction of one of the mass transport barges by a Thetopian torpedo a few days previously, on its return to the Ultran shore, extra safety precautions had been taken. Colossal nets made of steel chains had been suspended across the entire waterway on both sides of the Ultran shipping route to and from Thetopiat, in order to prevent any further torpedo attacks on Ultran vessels. A small detachment of the Ultran navy had also begun a blockade of the west-east channel where it reached the sea, in order to contain the navies blockading Beringia's southern coast within their current locations.

On land, the vicious fighting continued. In addition to the 45,000 troops who had endured the initial assault, as well as over 300 tanks of the Mississippi Division which had now been deployed successfully to the far bank and the bridgehead beyond, some of the Confederacy's dreaded siege artillery had now been shifted forward to nearer the front line. 30 of the Confederacy's much-feared 230mm "Paris Guns" were now positioned on the Ultran bank and were deluging the Thetopian rear, far behind the line, with a terrifying combination of incendiary, high-explosive and chemical-weapons munitions, drawing no distinction between civilians and combatants. An additional 50,000 troops had been deployed to the bridgehead and were engaged in a strong thrust northward, supported by tanks, the Paris Guns and extensive air cover, and despite encountering some resistance were making good progress north.

Army Group East

With the war in the north reaching fever pitch, the Ultran High Command decided to try another throw of the die further east. Army Group East, reinforced from the sea and now built up to some 85,000 men, turned its attention northward. As the light died and night spread across the island, some 5,000 paratroops and other marine units clambered aboard an array of gliders and other aircraft and almost silently climbed into the night sky. Once they had been towed high enough, the gliders were released, and their own small engines kicked into life. Within an hour they, and their fighter escort trailing behind, we directly above the Insuian land opposite the Confederacy's easternmost exclave.

The gliders slowly descended to earth and touched down on the southern coast of the Insuian claim. The paratroops quickly fanned out, and despite the loss of one of the gliders, which ditched into the sea, drowning its complement of 200, most of the troops had landed successfully. They moved along the southern coastline, skirting larger concentrations of enemy forces and quickly eliminating smaller pockets, in preparation for what was to come.

Out of the night came a series of landing craft, carrying around 20,000 men and 50 tanks. They stormed ashore, onto the beach the paratroops had secured, and dug in, while a small complement of Paris Guns on the Ultran shoreline hurled 230mm shells overhead, into Insuian territory. A small group of 3 battleships and a destroyer could be seen on the horizon, in the estuary. With this action, the west-east was blockaded at both ends by a combination of Ultran troops and the Ultran navy.

Some 500,000 troops were now deployed across Ultran territory.

As Rubian and Lancasteros forces fight on against Navorgska and now The Genoese Cromanatum. Our forces begin to gather north to push into Navorgska's claim. Our force consist of 80,000 Spanish Imperial Marines, 1,200 tanks, 750 artillery pieces, 500 missile launchers, 800 anti- aircraft guns, 350 apcs, 20 tons of supplies, and our air force begins to bomb Navorgska's forces in the north of our main claim. Our objective is to cut Navorgska's lines into two and steam roll one of the them before turning to the other. Our Imperial Navy will send a fleet to our and Rubian's joint claim to intercept Genoese Cromanatum navy. The fleet will have 5 destroyers, 8 cruisers, 1 aircraft carrier, 10 frigates, and 8 submarines they will begin to attack the enemy at once. Our ballistic missiles campaign will go on as schedule against Navorgska .

General Irving flipped switch 1, opening launch pads with 5 IRBMs for launch. He said "One is for the money," He turned the launch key counter-clockwise, activating the Ballistic Missiles. Then said "Two is for the show," as he walked to another panel. He typed a password on a computerized control panel, " *sigh* And Here we go..." He mumbled as he pressed the center button on the panel launching the Missiles at the same time, shaking the bunker.

A rocket released 3 satellites into orbit. One was a new Military GPS, The second was an Anti Missile Defense system that was built to defend satellites and the colonies. The last one was an Advanced Communication satellite for better and safer Information and Communication travel.

The Genoese seem to forget that Navorgska started this war. We are simply looking to finish it. Navorgska originally occupied the lands Genoa are now shunning us for taking back. As for the invasion fleet it will begin sailing to a new location soon. The troops already in the North will remain til the war on Navorgska is won. All bomber runs and artillery fire against the Genoese army will stop as soon as the Genoese announce the war is over. We are willing to accept peace.

Army Group East

In the distance, the sound of an approaching naval force could be heard. Radar screens in installations across the eastern areas of Ultran control began to register the presence of a moderately large force on the horizon. The radar observer's face paled, even in the green light, as he turned and left the room. Soon, he was in Admiral Jones' office.

"Admiral Jones, sir!" The observer, who possessed the rank of lieutenant, saluted smartly as he came into the office. Admiral Jones looked up.

"What's the issue, Lieutenant?"

"Naval force approaching from a bearing of 090 degrees, sir!"

"Distance?"

"Around 200 miles from the channel's opening, sir!"

"Very well, Lieutenant. Thank you for informing me."

The lieutenant once again saluted smartly and left the office. Admiral Jones then began to issue a stream of orders over the various phones scattered across his desk. Within a few minutes, all naval units in and around the eastern entrance to the channel had been alerted and placed on full battle readiness, and a variety of weaponry trained to the seas outside the opening.

Similar preparations took place on the shoreline, as a variety of large-calibre artillery pieces and coastal guns were loaded, equipped and made ready for fire, while a variety of surface-to-surface missile emplacements along the former Straallian coastline were activated and primed, requiring only co-ordinates to be inserted before they could be unleashed on the approaching Thetopian naval forces.

As all this was being made ready, in the skies a new layer of attack and defence was being prepared. Around 100 fighter aircraft located in the eastern former Straallian claim were dispatched immediately toward the approaching fleet. Modelled on the Sukhoi T-50, three-quarters of these fifth-generation fighter aircraft were equipped with six Exocet missiles each, and once released the aircraft were capable of flying at at least Mach 6. Their stealth capabilities would make them extremely difficult for any ship-based system to attack and would make them the rivals of any aircraft on the island in a dogfight situation. The 25 aircraft not carrying missiles were to function as escorts.

In addition to the almost-450 Exocet missiles that were being borne towards the Thetopian fleet with great haste, the roar of missiles being launched filled the eastern sky as around 45 3M-54E Klub "Sizzler" missiles were quickly dispatched from holding facilities on the eastern coast. Equipped with a function which caused them to "sprint" to a target once they were within close range, they were almost impossible to eliminate with close-in weapon systems.

As the missiles and the aircraft screamed overhead, large military missile-carrying trucks came to a halt a few miles behind the shoreline. On board each of the 5 trucks were 2 anti-ship ballistic missiles, each of which was capable of crippling a large aircraft carrier. With the arsenal facing the Thetopian fleet, whatever its size its chances of survival were slim.

With all this taking place, four large railguns were powered up, ready to be used on any ship that strayed within their 35-mile range.

Army Group North, Thetopian Bridgehead

Once the scale of the Thetopian forces facing them became apparent, the 150,000 men of Army Group North occupying the Thetopian bridgehead stopped their attempts at advancing and instead opted for defence. A colossal, winding series of trenches were dug across and behind the front line, and the Paris Guns on the southern bank of the channel were supplemented with another 25, bringing the total number to around 60.
