The Backstory:
The legacy of a long-past war remains. The Corread Escalanid must overcome the greatest danger they have met to date, or fall into darkness and be lost. For the Dark Imperium of Kryzgil, ancient and stalwart foe of the Corread, was not as dead as suspected, and the hearts of men are fickle and easily swayed. On the periphery of knowledge, life, and reason, who will have the strength to stand alone against the tide of emptiness? Much stands to be lost, but given the fact there are things only a few key men know, nearly all others remain blissfully ignorant of the chaotic machinations of darkness below the surface. The Admiralty has long withheld information- for good reason, naturally- from most of the public, but there comes a time when information does more damage in secret than not. . .
Your Role:
The idea is that if you choose to participate, you automatically begin having received an invitation to a joint fleet exercise with the Escalan. The main plot starts with this series of exercises, which is ongoing thoughout the roleplay. However, a solar system supposedly destroyed 1500 years ago has reappeared, and strange things will begin to happen. This is the real focus of the story arc, but it takes a little while to get going. The rest- well, that remains to be seen. Only three people within the Escalan Admiralty know what this means, for only they are privy to the true story of the Invasion Fleets sent against Kryzgil VI 1500 years before the events of Periphery and what they found- or failed to find.
Friendly Guidelines:
For all of you who know me and all of you who don't, this RP is what I hope shall define my canon from this point forwards. It's open, yes, and I don't as of yet have any specific restrictions on who wants to join, but there are a few things I would ask of prospective participants, including:
1. Please, don't join, post once, then drop out. That grows tedious quickly and I need full participation in this of all RPs. Periphery could be very, very long, so I need to trust you to post regularly until this is over.
2. It is imperative that you have a cohesive, well-thought-out backstory. As long as I can talk to you and get this info somehow, whether by factbook, TG, or email, you're good.
3. No, you don't have to write a book every time you post, but I would like a decent three- to four-paragraph minimum.
4. If you think you want to do this, post here and we'll talk.
5. Once you've completed the above, please fill out the below information sheet- I hesitate to call it an application, since it's really not going to affect your acceptance provided you fill it out.
