Assuming you're discussing fleets in the Black Sea, I haven't posted anything about them yet. Until I say so, the Russian fleet is remaining docked at Odessa. The ships I mentioned earlier are on the river Dnieper, which would be rather difficult for a seagoing war fleet to sail up. Verging on suicidal, I think.

Since the Russians are laying siege I would assume that the Imperial Navy would be out in force to provide support for the assault.

We haven't arrived in the south yet. I dunno about the other guys.

I had assumed there would be some resistance to my trying to cross the Dnieper, since it's a rather handy natural barrier. If not, my forces would advance pretty rapidly to Perekop, since Kherson is pretty flat and open. Not a good place to have a fight against a foe with giant hordes of cavalry, especially if the irregulars who are attacking from the east are unopposed.

The big river in the middle is the Dnieper. I've been assuming that the border of the British Crimea runs along it up to Zaporozhye, then down to Mariupol.

Is there any way to get in on the IC thread still? I would be interested in fielding the early incarnation of the Uli-Schwyz Mercenary Regiment (similar to RL Swiss mercenaries). Hiring to either side, Russian or British aligned. Any takers? I've will do my research and also work really well with whichever side takes the merc regiment on.

Cool. So Mcnernians are with the British on this one from what I've read. I don't want to make it too lopsided against the Russians, but hey, if it works for everyone. British Crimea, would that be cool?

The Uli-Schwyz Reg. would be about 5-6,000 around that time with small cavalry and artillery detachments.

If you want to play a historical power, the Austrians or Germans would be nice, as they were allied to Russia at this point, albeit in a defensive alliance.

I'll put in with the British side, only due to the fact that my knowledge of Austro-Hungaria and the German Empire of that period is not up to the task of doing justice to either nation or their institutions.

However, I could provide an "enemy" force on top of an ally for British Crimea.

I will join the Russian side if needed, even though historically they had mass numbers to take on all the allies. Also, Mcnernia offered a contract, and I would like to take that if balancing out the sides is not a concern.

Well, I offered to even sides, but ultimately McNernia offered the contract and the mercenaries will take it.
