A Plot To Overthrow The King (OPEN, MT)

Postby New Taboa » Fri Dec 21, 2012 10:14 am

Princess Robyn, otherwise known as The Invisible Princess or the Countess of Nimmo, was planning something. Something that could be extremely dangerous for anyone involved, she was planning to gain more power and stand up to her father, King Jamie I of New Taboa. She invited foreign powers into her castle in Nimmo to talk things over, hoping to convince them to help her in her campaign against her father, she had memorised her arguing points and was ready to talk things over with the other world leaders. She sat at a rounded table with several seats and waited for the first leader to arrive, she didn’t exactly invite them herself but her advisors had decided for her.

Image

Princess Robyn had been ignored her whole life by her family and this was her revenge. She also wanted to make several changes to the way the country is run. For example, making the choice of religion free instead of making it compulsory to follow Neo-Taboan Catholicism, she also wants to give rewards to anyone to helps her, the reward would obviously be negotiable. Some over changes she has in mind include: stopping one family from having too much power (her family is in 7 cabinet ministries out of 19) and she also says that she wants to make everyone a little more equal within New Taboa. The meeting is being held in the tower of Nimmo Castle, in the Meeting Room, for obvious reasons, any help is welcomed.

As the Kandalan representative walked into the empty room, he knew the rest of his countrymen would support him in helping give another country more freedoms. He took a seat and said "My name is Zachariah Staley, Kandala will help you, but on the terms that it will be beneficial to your people, if not, we will withdraw our offer."

Burton Haringoth, flanked by two legionairres, entered shortly after Staley. "Hello, representative," he said with a nod. He took a seat and addressed the Princess. "I'm not much for bickering despots and military coups, but if you have somethin worthwhile to say then say it. Altorum will listen intently." Friedrich Voorgevoel, mediator for the Coenbeurgish government

Friedrich Voorgevoel entered the meeting room as the third representative, of Coenbeurg and the Conradines. A high-ranking officier in the diplomatic corps, he had successfully negotiated a number of treaties and agreements that may or may not have necessarily lead to large, under-the-table benefits for Coenbeurg - and a change of regime in other places. He was here, now, to argue the Coenbeurgish side of things. He took a moment to address the representatives in the room, offering his hand to the Altorian and Kandalan representatives.

He reached the Princess, and offered to kiss her hand while taking off his hat in reverence. After revealing his greying hair, slicked back to his scalp, he took a seat next to the other two representatives, and said in French (he was confident the translators would do their jobs),

«Mesdame and messieurs gathered here, rest assured that Coenbeurg is sympathetic to the plights of New Taboans. Why, we seek nothing more than to help each other in our times of disparate needs, and as such, I'm here to inform Her Royal Highness-» he nodded to Princess Robyn, «-that Coenbeurg understands completely your sentiment. And, while we prefer not to interfere in the sovereign affairs of another state, under review of the documents you have graced us with, we find it undeniably horrendous that the current sovereign be allowed to continue to reign. After all,» he paused, «The will of the people is the will of the Gods, is it not? Therefore, Coenbeurg is here to aid you in this expedition, so please, tell us what you have in mind in terms of... assistance.»

Another slight pause for dramatic effect, then he continued: «Ah, also, the bureaucrats - what bores they are back at home! (laugh) - wanted me to inform you that any Coenbeurgish assistance will be rendered anonymously and completely without strings. Of course, provided that reasonable concessions are made after the fact, but... let's not count our eggs before they hatch, and may we see the best of luck.»

Everyone in the room could feel emptiness of these words. Coenbeurg was here to help, but at a price - to be determined later.

Zhak Ti enered silently but noticeably. accompanying him wer four Gigawatt 7s, each armored and equipped to be like walking tanks, but without the machinery. Despite their looks, they were deftly agile and fast, with a mastery in close combat. But Zhak was still the more skilled fighter, as it was required of him to be so.

"Contamenesia will aid you only if we deem your actions are not of power and greed. Our aid may not be as war bound as these others, but we have an ear and eye nearly everywhere on this planet, thanks to our esteemed but secret Cyber Division."

Zhak sat down, in the seat nearest to the princess. "However, our aid is not free. Gold and riches do not interest us, neither do any fancy titles or treaties. If you want my aid, you must be prepared for high, but equal costs. Ones that arent easily paid."

Zhak then quieted. He took matters like these seriously. And there was only one thing that the Priness could offer that he wanted. He knew the politics, but they didnt matter. What he wanted was worth more than power itself....

(OoC) Before we go any further, I'd like to check something out with Contamenesia and Altoran:

Contamenesia wrote:Tesla Warfare taken to the next level: Inter-Dimensional Current Tesla Spartans. (IDCTS) [This is a Transcended Tech Nation]
Altoran wrote:MT is a semi-benevolent isolationist state with ... flying fortresses.

How do flying fortresses and Tesla weaponry fit under the purviews of MT? If the OP is okay with it, of course, I guess I am too.

That being said, a separate OoC/comments thread might be important if we want to continue with the RP.

simple. i am not using my Tesla tech or any of my advanced tech in this rp. in the actual history of Contamenesia, Zhak Ti's reign ended nearly 500 years ago (my nation dwelves primarily in the year 2526) and his son took the throne. this rp and the ballroom rp are actually past events to Contamenesia.. i have altered my tech level during this era to fit MT. I wont be using my Tesla tech or other Advanced tech simply because i am acting as if we had not invented these things yet or even thought about them yet. The Gigawatt 7s mentioned carry kinetic weaponry not Tesla. Though i am keeping the Cyber Division quite advanced but still MT.(In order to keep this concurrent with another rp that i did.) this rp is a glimpse of the past for my nation. with some adjustments.

Prince Jack Benjamin walked entered the meeting room with his advisors. He looked around and saw the various delegates. He then turned and looked at Princess. He felt sorry for her, He too knew the sting of being ignored by his father, the King, but he found solace in knowing one day he will ascend to the throne, her ascension was...uncertain to say the least. He adjusted his tie and made his way to his seat. His advisors did the same. He looked through his materials and reviewed his documents. Unfortunately, The Kingdom was not in support of the princess and should war break out they were prepared to support King Jamie. However, the Prince was not sold. He sat back and listened, in hopes of being swayed.

If allowed to continue then things will only get much worse."

Knowing he came a bit late Nelson knocked on the door.
A servant opened the door.
"My name is Nelson Sunndstrom Diplomat of the FRC Jonathania. How do I come to the meeting room of Princess Robyn?"
"You go into the first corridor left then right and up the stairs. From there you follow the Corridor to the right. The last door is the Meeting room."
"Thanks"
As he entered the room with his to guards Nelson introduced himself:"Im Nelson Sundstrom and I´m the Jonathanian delegate."
He approached the other delegates and offered them a hand them looked at the princess and took of his hat.
He calmly sat down on a chair at the end of the table with his guards at his back.
"Before I can tell if support will be official or unofficial I have to know what do you exactly plan to do in the government as I wasnt told by your advisors.
Furthermore to know if there actually will be support I will need to know how do you plan to repay help? Money, Goods, Territory, International support in Times of need, Vassalship, Alliance, Non-aggressive pact... What will you choose or let us choose?"

Zhak settled in his seat. "First, let me show you what we can offer as aid to you, if i find your cause just, and then i shall tell you the price."
Zhak cleared his throat, "Our Cyber Division is capable of hacking into the sattelites in orbit around you and can give you direct access to people of your nation. Well, those with phones, computers, or televisions. This would give you access to the heart of the people without fear of assassins as you would in a public speech. Secondly, i can turn your own family's alarm systems against them, making their own home a virtual prison, but only if you wished it. And thirdly, i can get you resources from nearly anywhere, and by resources, i mean information, documents, signatures. Even if they only stored on paper."

Zhak paused, his face dead serious. he knew the political debates of what he was about to say, but this wasnt for politics, this was for thefuture of Contamenesia.

"The price is this: You must give me an heir. The child will not have any claim to the New Taboan throne. Only Contamenesia's. There is no need of any marriage or union bonds between our nations. This would soley be for the future of Contamenesia, and your payment for our services. I did warn you it was a high but equal cost."

Zhak looked her dead in the eyes. He was serious, this was no small matter.

Commander in Chief, Gru Hassani Hatan, was next to enter the room. He was an elderly gentleman, with 43 wars under his name, and even more honors to his credit. Behind him were two armed guards, each one equipped with no more than a ceremonial blade and a silenced pistol. "Hail, and blessings of the gods." The three men bowed to the princess, reciting this in unison. "We have heard of your plight. We wish to know how the Motherland may be of service to you in claiming your rightful spot on the throne."

Outside of the castle,a strange wanderer walked about and around the castle, seeming rather lost

"Damn!" he said

"I'm late!I know I am!"

"They've started without me,I'm sure of it!"

He continued to walk in his confused pattern until he finally found the entrance....no thanks to the guards, who were simply watching him

"I know they're laughing at me...oh I know it..." he said

The representative was rather...on edge...

Out of all the diplomats in Mexican Liberation...they had to send the most paranoid and jumpy one of them all...he's barely even considered a politician...when shaking hands with foreign leaders,he shakes more than his hand...he shakes his whole body...that's how nervous he usually gets...

"As soon as I go in that door, they're gonna talk about me like they were right behind my back...then...Boom!They stab me!" he whispered to himself...

He walked to and from the corridors, and into grass fields and gardens, only to find that he was walking in circles...or so it felt like it...

The palace within was...beautiful...if it weren't for the fact that he has something important to do right now,he would actually be suntanning out on the gardens and not even give a damn about the guards trying to stop him...

But he did have something to do...and he was late...or so he thinks...

At last,he got to a part of the castle he wasn't familiar to in his endless journey...

As he walked farther in,he could hear faint whispers in the distance...as he walked closer to the whispers...they seemed to be getting louder...and louder...and louder...

Until,at last,he got to the place where he could directly hear the voices...

"Ah!" he whispered to himself

"This must be where the meeting is..."

"But do I go in or no?..."

He put his hear to the door, and the mumbled groans and whispers turned into loud and shrill voices

"The price is this:You must give me an heir. The child will not have any claim to the New Taboan throne. Only Contamenesia's. There is no need of any marriage or uninion bonds between our nations. This would soley be for the future of Contamenesia, and your payment for our services. I did warn you it was a high but equal cost..." he heard a voice...

He listened closely for more, but nothing...

Strange...he could've swore...he heard the name Contamenesia being tossed around back at the capital...the Mexican Liberation government has a file on them...though they've never come into direct contact...it's of course, for diplomatic purposes...not much is known of them...as for New Taboa...that's a nation he knows for sure the government does not have a file on...or even knows it exists...the Mexican Liberation government is rather closed with foreign meetings and negotiations...they would rather use unorthodox methods of meeting and communicating with other nations...this,of course, results in a rather...limited circle of friends and influences with other nations, particularly solely in the region...

He was about to say something else to himself, but he heard another voice inside...

"Hail,and blessings of the gods..."

"Who could this be?" he thought to himself,as he cupped his ear to the door once again

The voice continued

"We have heard of your plight. We wish to know how the Motherland may be of service to you in claiming your rightful spot on the throne..."

Now this,he thought, was definitely from a nation the government has not come into contact with...

He felt the urge to listen once more, but there were no more words, all was silent...

"Ah,but what am I doing this for?I am but a diplomat,I have no business in eavesdropping, even if it is for the sake of my country..."he whispered to himself

He turned and saw a guard was fast approaching in on his position...

"Oh no...he thinks I'm a spy or something!I'm in for it!" he whispered

And with this,he reached for the doorknob, opened the door, and literally dropped in on the meeting

The next thing he knew,he was on the ground, staring at the others...

Striding in behind the nervous diplomat was a clean shaven, well dressed in a white suit and confident walking diplomat from Shibal Zumr. He adjusted his tie as he stepped over the body of the diplomat now lying on the floor, taking a seat at the table everybody had positioned themselves at. Opening his briefcase, the diplomat quickly organized a few folders and looked at a small piece of paper with a nod. Closing the briefcase back up and placing it at his own feet, the diplomat turned everybody in the room and smiled softly.

"I understand that you wish to reclaim your kingdom." The diplomat spoke in English, rather than his native Arabic, taking out a small gold case from his jacket pocket. Inside of the gold case was a small collection of cigarettes, to which the diplomat pulled one out and lit to great dramatic effect in the quiet room, before returning the gold case to his jacket. "The Prince of Shibal Zumr and I may be able to assist you in such manners. We have a surplus of arms we may be willing to supply you with, provided that your counter offer is right." The diplomat continued, taking a light drag from his cigarette.

Prince Jack welcomed the new delegates then turned and faced the princess.

"Its a little more complicated for us. The United Kingdom of Sanctus Angelus has a long history of defending and preserving Monarchies. We believe that this attempted coup will only give anti monarchy movements in this country legitimacy. In our experiences, these types of coups are seen as family feuds and does more harm than good for the Monarchy. We need to hear more, Perhaps why the other delegations are so supportive."

"Well i cant talk for the other but i know the FRC of Jonathanian isnt sure it will give support until we know exact plans or ideas..."he looks at princess"you, the princess have.
Furthermore if we would support the coup we would either trade something as pay or we would demand and/or hope, depending on what would happen, that New Taboa would adopt our political systems which would lead to all support being free.As another point we also recently supported a monarchist faction in a civil war and plan on continuing to do so.
In addition i dont hink it would legitimate anti-monarchistis movements as long as no civilians are hurt.If no civilians are hurt and as I understood civil reforms will be done then anti-monarchists should have no chance."

The representative thought for a moment. "We can offer a a covert militia to support you should anything turn sour, I'm sure you noticed our assassins at the ball in Contamenesia, they will support anyone willing to relinquish more freedoms to their people."

“Civilians are always hurt, Diplomat, the road of righteousness does not spare the innocent who walk beside it.”

A softly spoken sentence from another newcomer, looking toward Nelson Sundstrom. He walks into the room late, and completely unselfconscious about it.

“In choosing inaction, the innocent make themselves guilty; they are not targets, but their failure to choose a cause does not make them inviolate.”

The newcomer is fairly nondescript, wearing a plain navy blue suit, white shirt and dark red tie. Short dark hair, green eyes, average height. Black shoes; highly polished. Simple analogue watch, leather strap, signet ring on little finger of the left hand; no other jewellery.

“Forgive me: Heiro-Brother James Torquin, Order of Saint Christopher, diplomatic agent for the Imperial Faith Union.”

He looks around at the other representatives. Diplomats and princes, idealists and realists. His home nation’s reputation would somewhat less than palatable to some of those here. Theocracies were not always well looked upon.

He pulls out a seat from the table and sits down after inclining his head to the princess. Monks of the Everlasting Sacrifice knelt only in prayer, bowed only in the presence of their own abbots, bishops and God.

The Imperial Faith Union was largely indifferent to New Taboa, having little mutual relations beyond the normal levels of international trade that one would expect. Perhaps that could change.

A delegate from the United Republic of Montag entered the room.
"Hello, my name is Konstantin Zhukov. My country is eager to assist you in your plot.
"Our military is overly capable in providing air and ground support and is on standby to begin doing so immediately. All you have to do is to give the order."
He sat down and arranged notes carefully about him.

As all the other delegates one by one started talking with each other, the Mexican Liberation delegate slowly walked towards a chair, and took a seat, rather awkwardly,as if,he knows something is up...

He listened to all of them talk about various plots and future plans if they are to succeed

Seeing as there is no current point in saying anything,he just kept his mouth shut and continued to listen, and sat there, quiet as a shadow

Then, another delegate entered...claiming to be from Montag...

The United Republic of Montag...another country the Mexican Liberation government is unfamiliar with...come to think of it,none of the nations in the meeting is the Mexican Liberation government familiar with...

"Damn...all of these nations...and we're basically the outcast..." he thought to himself...

"Our military is overly capable in providing air and ground support and is on stanby to begin doing so immediately. All you have to do is give the order..." said the Montag delegate

"Ah...yes...the perfect opportunity...thank you Montag..." the ML diplomat thought to himself once more

And with this, the Mexican Liberation diplomat interrupted

"And our armed forces are perfectly capable of assisting you all, just point the target and we will shoot. The King will not know what hit him..."

As he finished, his voice trailed off into a mumble, and finally,he was quiet

Not only did the government pick the worst possible delegate out of all the ones they had, they also sent the least outgoing, most shy,and antisocial one they had...that's when you know the economy has gone to hell...
