Yeah, the time period is more for technology and religious conflict than government styles. As long as the OP is fine with it I support it.

The Commonwealth of Iceland, the Maritime/Mercantile Republics of Italy and some tribal entities all had semi democratic and/or republican institutions in the Middle Ages so it definetly wasn't all feudal monarchies.

Also I apologize for the inadequate introduction to the Variag Khaganate given in my first IC post. I intended to introduce all of the Khaganagical (is that a word?) family but grew tired half way through. I hope to have a post late tomorrow or early the day after tomorrow which will give a more thorough introduction to the Khaganagical family as well as the Tarkhan Beg.

That btw will be my last post in the IC this side of Christmas.

What do you mean walls of text in plural? Apart from my second post the average post length seem fairly average for a quality RP.
