Kingdom of Phoenixia wrote:Even the king was in awe when he saw the shadows of the large city for the first time. " Dammit that's our target ? I would be willing to steal all of Black Wings treasures if I could avoid a fight there. That's a insane place." "And that's the reason why he is here dad." The Crownprince chimed in. "He will make a hellhole of our fight but in the end he will loose. He only didn't know that now. Looks like it will be a city fight so we should send the untouchables first, good to know that we have saved them until now." They discussed battle strategies until they reached the Camp of the Steel Forces. The king stepped up to one of the higher officers. "Where can I find Lord Emperor Tiberius's tent ? We have some urgent stuff to discuss with him..."

Seeing that the Phoenixian High Command wanted to speak with Lord Emperor Tiberius, the officer escorted the group over to a large tent in the center of the Imperium camp. Once inside the tent, they could see the Lord Emperor with several other staff members going over a large detailed map of the city that laid before them in St. Petersmarch. After a few moments of speaking in their native tongue, Tiberius looked up and saw the Phoenixian delegation. Walking over to them, Tiberius greeted his friends and allies before he spoke up. "King Eirikson, it has only been three weeks and you have already secured your objectives? I guess Maximilian's soldiers are either surrendering in droves or your forces just overpowered the defenses they possessed. Either way, as you saw on your way over here, this final battle is going to be hell to say the least. A city of over one hundred million civilians by itself and lasting for over four thousand years, St. Petersmarch is a sight to see. So tell me, what brings you here?"

The Patrol Fleet of Maximilian had no idea that they had fallen into a trapped laid out by the Crown Alliance and the Elves as their entire fleet was caught in the surprise attack off the shore of the supposed unguarded rebel cities. With the volleys of magic and artillery raining down upon them, the Patrol Fleet was outgunned as many of their ships caught afire or exploded in the first volley. Once the volley was done and Malin pressed the option for the remaining ships to surrender or die, it didn't take long for the remaining ships to beach themselves and surrender without a fight to the Elves. Even with those surrendering, over 250 ships were either sunk or on fire as Maximilian did indeed lose another fleet that day to the Crown Alliance. With that battle done, Malin and his men decided to head towards the rallying point outside of St. Petersmarch since it would be a few weeks to months before the Eastern Continent was completely secured. Plus, it would give them a chance to see the fabled capital of the Imperium and discuss strategy with Lord Emperor Tiberius.

Heading into the medical facility, both Marie and Andy were escorted to a more private area of the medical center as they needed their privacy and security from the others there. While the medical facility was mostly a human center with the Imperium Government running it, there were also Elves and other soldiers of the Crown Alliance there getting treatments. Now in a private birthing suite, Marie and Andy were soon accompanied by several doctors that proceeded to help Marie with her birth of their child. After an hour of birthing and pain, both Marie and Andy were soon the proud parents of a healthy baby boy. Laying on the bed tired but content, Marie held onto her child as she spoke to Andy. "So my love, what would you wish to name our baby boy?"

Malin relax with a happy smile. He had won a great victory. Now his next mission for him would be the taking of the Imperium captial and ending the war. Everything was going good. To bad there would be news that would damper his cheerful mood.

Andy smiled at both his wife and son. "Marie you should name him. Elven names are so hard to say for humans. I want you to name our son." He said with a smile. His smile was interrupted by the arrival of General Galdoris and a dozen armed Elves. "Prince Anorpaur Ap Vyshaan. You are under arrest."

A massive air or tank battle was un - common, except for when Canadian forces took towns or villages. Making it easier on the ground soldiers fighting on open land. Being hundreds of miles inland, The RC navy wasn't able to deploy jets to fight as quickly as they could before. So, Helicopter attack was the main source of attack.

With the RC forces battling farther north in the Eastern Continent then the rest of the forces there, the RC had to rely on their own support and materials to battle he forces of Maximilian in their part of the region. However, because of the forces in Maximilian that they were facing, the RC troops managed to continue their advance up north in the Eastern Continent thanks to their usage of Flame-Tanks and Assault Helicopters against the ground forces that Maximilian had at his disposal in that region. While it would take from anywhere to a few weeks to a few months, at the current pace the RC was moving and with the breaking down of command for the Maximilian troops, the RC would eventually have the Northern region of the Eastern Continent under their control. However, even with their victories they were picking up, the Maximilian soldiers still gave the forces of the RC hell to deal with as they would fight to the last man.

Still, though, he felt at this time in the war he could leave as the war was pretty much won at this point no matter what tactics Maximilian tried to employ against them. Once Jaaera finished, Francis spoke up. "I know that I am the only one, other then perhaps Tiberius, that tries to keep this alliance together. Still, though, with the war probably going to be over in a few months time, I wish I could just walk away now so I can be with you all full time and not worry about the Imperium or the after effects of this war. Besides, I can get used to this type of treatment on a daily basis also." As he paused for a moment, he laughed as he really was enjoying the time right now he was having with his family. Just as he was about to speak again, however, a personal aide of Marie's came into the room and spoke briefly with Francis. After a few moments of talking back and forth in their language, Francis's eyes were lit up both in anger and fright as he spoke up. "What? What do you mean there is a situation going on at the medical center now? And how the Elves are trying to break in and arrest both Marie and Andy? Dammit take me there now." As Francis got up and got his armor and military uniform on, he proceeded to head over to the medical center; not knowing what was going on at the moment.

Francis got there barely in time to see General Galdoris put Andy in cuffs.

After listening to King Eirikson speak, Tiberius soon spoke to fill in the gaps and answer some of Eirikson's questions and concerns. "Well, as it stands right now, the Wood Elves and the Constannians are still fighting up north to secure that part of the region as this experimental Sky Fleet Maximilian was working on is causing them problems to say the least. From what I have heard in the Eastern Continent across the Steel Sea, the forces over there of Prince Malin, Valorono and the RC are each facing their own challenges, but are steadily moving their progress forward. At their current rate, within the next few weeks to a month the Eastern Continent should be mostly under Crown Alliance control; minus the fact that the southern region is too well defended to even begin to try to take at this point. Unless you wish to send some of your forces there to try to take that region of the Eastern Continent, I am afraid that the only other alternative would be to focus more on hunting down Maximilian's fleets. While you are here, however, and since I hear Prince Malin is on his way also, we can begin going over discussions for this final attack."

" Yes father, it will be done." The Crownprince was grateful as the battle would distract him from the problems he have with his hearth at the moment.
King Eirikson meanwhile excused himself because he need to coordinate the camp but he made sure that he would be notified as soon as Mailin would arrive in the Camp...

Before Marie could even speak a suggested name for their newborn, the shock of seeing armed guards come into their medial suite quickly turned her into a defensive mother. Shielding her son away from the soldiers, Marie had the doctors bring in armed Steel Guards to prevent Andy being taken away from the room. Soon afterword, thirty armed Steel Guards arrived in the room and blocked off the Elven Guards from leaving. As Marie was still very weak from just giving birth, she had word sent to her uncle about the situation so he could take care of it. However, she still couldn't help but cry a little over the entire situation as she knew why the other Elves where here.

Arriving shortly after receiving the message from Marie's aid, Lord Francis and his personal guards soon arrived into the medical suite to handle the situation. Seeing his niece on the verge of tears and his adopted son and friend in chains didn't help Francis's mood. Speaking in his own tongue to the soldiers, soon the Elvish Guards were quickly stripped of their weapons as Andy was let out of his cuffs. Once Andy was free and back next to Marie, Francis spoke up to the Elf in charge. "How dare you come into a medical facility armed and dare to draw your weapons on my niece and her newborn and husband. This is the Imperium and not your nation so you will immediately deceased with your actions and leave or so help me I will implement Imperium Law right here." Taking a pause, Francis pulled out his weapon and pointed it at the commander as the other guards did the same and pointed their weapons at the Elves. Once done Francis continued. "Now, tell me why I shouldn't place a bullet in you and your guards for forcefully coming into an IMPERIUM medical facility and breaking several High Laws of my nation."

Listening to the Elvish General speak, Francis thought for a few moments before he spoke again. "First and foremost, ELF, don't being using your law to try to enforce your power here or dare try to even threaten me in the slightest as I will blow your head off without any regret. As Prince Malin and Prince Celanor has stated before and has backed me up on this, as long as this war is continuing and your forces are in the Imperium, OUR Laws supervised yours; PERIOD. This was a provision every nation agreed to in the very beginning of the formation of the Crown Alliance and as me being Supreme Allied Commander. So unless you wish to feel the wrath of your own leaders and of my leader and me, you are to leave at once and not interfere with either Prince Andy or Steel Commander Marie. Prince Andy was placed under my command as per Prince Malin's orders so as his superior officer, he is not interfering with any laws here."

As several corps of Phoenixian soldiers set forth to the southern regions of the Eastern Continent, there they would face a very entrenched resistance of Maximilian's soldiers. Unlike the soldiers and armies they faced in the Eastern Imperium during their advance, these soldiers in the Eastern Continent were entrenched deep into the mountains of the southern region and were more heavily armed to deal with the threats of tanks and heavy air assaults to deal with the impending threats of dragons and other air attacks. As such, the battles in the southern region would hamper down any forces trying to take them out would be held up for at least several months as they were too entrenched into the region and the mountains supporting them.

As they waited for Prince Malin to come into camp, Tiberius decided to look over the city as it had been close to four years since he last seen his capital. Although it was in the hands of the enemy and he knew the people were suffering, Tiberius couldn't help but bask in the history of the city and how he would now have to fight against it to bring back peace and harmony to the Imperium.

While it was true that the battles were getting more bloddy the Phoenixians soon discovered how to create snowslide on purpose and with a clear direction. Whole Divisions of Maximilians soldiers were burried in the snow, tons of material were destroyed. The fights in the Mountains don't brought the Phoenixians any advantages but it prevent a surprise attack of Maximilians soldiers as well with a breath of final faith...

With the fighting in the mountains becoming more and more hellish by the day, both the forces of Maximilian and Phoenixia were engaged into a stalemate over the region. While eventually it looked as the forces of the Crown Alliance would take over the region, the presence of Maximilian would not go down without a fight as they continued to hammer the forces of Phoenixia wherever they could. As the weeks and months progressed in this region of the Eastern Continent, the forces of Phoenixia continued to deal with a stubborn enemy that refused to surrender despite being outnumbered and outgunned in almost every aspect.

In the end it was the difficult supply route that brake the neck of Maximilians Soldiers. After the Phoenixians captured the important street into the region they only need to wait until the supply of medicaments, weapons and food were at the end. They meet more and more devastated, underfed and weakened soldiers who surrendered willingly. They made ready for the last attack while they were still waiting on the notice to return back near St. Petersmarsh to meet for the final attack. The casualities were nearly minor, only in the ten thousands, most of them only injured.

With the southern region of the Eastern Continent now finally pacified of Maximilian control, the forces of Phoenixia, minus a division or two to hold the region, proceeded to head back to the front established around the capital of St. Petersmarch to join up with the other armies of the Crown Alliance. Once linking up back with their home army, it was now a waiting game as both the Imperium forces and the Phoenixian forces now waited for the other armies of the Crown Alliance to finish up their campaigns before they all made a combined push against the capital. During this time, both the forces of the Imperium and Phoenixia engaged in some light-heart activities to take their minds off of what would probably become the bloodiest and costliest battle of the entire war.

Listening to Andy, Francis almost seemed utterly pissed about how his friend and adopted nephew was being side-skirted by his own father because of the mentality that some Elves had about keeping their gene pool pure. Once Andy finished, Francis rested his hand on Andy's shoulder as he proceeded to respond back. "Well, if that is the way it had to be, then in all means then he isn't your father. Now, I know you Elves have your own set of laws and I respect that, but to me, I will never consider Sorodor your father if he has the nerve to disown you because you married a human. Andy, you are your own person so you need to ask yourself now if you are happy with this life? Look over to you wife and your newborn and tell me that your father is still right in what he is doing to you; because it is not right. Either way, though, you can rest assured that you will be welcomed into this family with open arms and will not have to fear threats here in the Imperium."

As the Cavalry charged into the rear of troops with a Maximilian banner they were met with heavy resistance. As the fighting continued Cavaro headed to the center of the city to find troops with Allied banners waving. He decided to help them breathing fire onto any troop with Maximilian colors. Dimitri was relived to see Cavaro raining hell on the enemy, but as Dimitri let his guard down a stray grenade came near his position and exploded about eight feet in-front of him. Part of the shrapnel was lodged into his left eye. Seeing that their Tsar was in danger about twenty Hussars brought him out of the fight to a medical tent leaving Leon, Attaman to the Cossacks, in command. And now that Dimitri was blinded in his left eye as was Cavaro.

Winged Hussars

The battle in the city was hellish to say the least as there were many elements going on at once in the battle. Between the civil riots going on throughout the city to the battles between the forces of Valorono and the Maximilian Loyalist forces, the battle for the city was bloody and dreary to say the least. While the forces of Valorono did benefit from the civil riot going on and having the superior numbers, the close street-to-street fighting took their toll on their forces as the fighting continued on. Even with Dimitri out of the battle due to battle injuries, it was safe to say that sooner or later the city would be taken as those forces still loyal to Maximilian were dying in droves. After another several days of fighting in the city, the last of the Maximilian forces fell as Dimitri looked over the damage.

Now blind in his left eye Dimitri looked over the battle field with disgust, Not only had this war taken his family but now his eye. He mounted on his horse and met up with his Bodyguard comprised of ten winged hussars and five Cossack. They rode through the city overlooking the ruins. Some cheered for him, while others were weeping for the dead. When Cavaro saw Dimitri he too was blind in his left eye. For whatever damage comes to the Tsar and holder of the Holy Cross Cavaro has come to protect he too takes on his wounds. But never the less Dimitri left about two million troops to defend the city and help rebuild before he gathered his men to move out. The dwarves were still following Rasputin, though their Native allies had returned home with Big Bear after the battle of Serov. Dimitri rode with his bodyguard carrying a new scar, and another reason why he wanted to kill
Maxamilian.

"Thank you Francis, but I should face my father. He deserves that much. As for me no longer being part of the family, well I never did like being a royal. It was too restrictive and confining. Now I have someone to love and someone to carefore. I want to be with Marie. If it means I will never see my home again so be it." He said with a tone of sorrow.

When the forces returned back to the camp is was nearly peaceful for war standards. The Crownprince could see Phoenixians joking around, gambling about rations and quite a few even took use of one of the women that joined the baggage to escape poverty.
It remembered more on a maneuvre then the preparations of a battle. Everywhere he could here drunken songs.
He would need to keep a word with his father over this soon. Yes the moral was still high but it was already slipping.
However he could also saw several divisions training and drilling. It was a nice, nearly frolic atmosphere but this men would turn back into soldier mode as soon as they need to be.
He found his father deeply afflicted over a map of the city and he was not alone...

Listening to Andy speak, Francis understood how he felt about the whole situation and as it looked gloom for his family relations. However, Francis was happy to see that Andy was making his own decisions and standing by his love and new family. As such, once Andy finished speaking, Francis spoke up to convey his message. "Well, whatever happens, just know you can always count on my support for you and the family. Now, seeing as you have a newborn son right now, I will leave you with your wife and newborn." With that, Francis left the medical suite and proceeded back to his family so he could let the new parents be together. Heading back to his own suite in Alliance HQ, Francis slipped out of his uniform and headed back to the couch to rest as he was still tired from the long day.

With Francis now gone, only Marie and Andy were left in the medical suite with their newborn boy. Holding onto their newborn, Marie finally spoke up to lighten the mood on the situation for the two of them. "Well, my love, as it is your son I would like you to name him as it is only right for you to do so. Plus, I think our boy wants to see his dad." With that, Marie handed the now sleeping newborn over to Andy and laid it into his arms.

Andy held the newborn all happy and content. He looked at his wife. "If you insist I would name my son Veryrlan . It means Peace bringer son. For that is what he has brought a peace and happiness I thought I would never have." He said with a smile. What ever trials remain, Andy look forward to being with Marie and their son.

Francis barley go to rest on the chouch before there was a priority call on his emergency phone.

With the city now taken, the forces of Valorono continued their campaign in the Eastern Continent as there was still many cities and towns to liberate. Unlike in the main continent of the Imperium, the Eastern Continent had its cities and towns more spread out over the vast landscape as the Eastern Continent only had a few viable regions that could support human existence. Pushing their campaign farther into the Eastern Imperium, Dimitri and his forces actually were able to enjoy a few days of no battle as many of the towns and cities they proceeded to liberate gave up willingly. However, this calmness would end all too soon as they came upon the last Maximilian stronghold in the region they were liberating in the Eastern Continent. The last stronghold was the mountain fortress of Monsanto and the its' defenders had already made it clear to the Crown Alliance that they would not surrender. With the siege beginning, Dimitri knew he had to take this city if he wanted to secure the region.
