The Elven Imperium wrote:Celanor was taken back by Francis's words. He took a drink of the Elven wine and spoke. "You don't understand. The Imperial Family is the only thing that keeps the other Elves from tearing each other apart. The Sha-Coronel title can either be a figure head or a ruler. To be a ruler of that collected pit of vipers one must be strong and hard. Like my father. My relies on me to win the crown and lead our people toward a strong central government. If I fail a weak Sha-Coronel will be elected after my father. The High Council Will be in charge. Those fools can not agree on anything. Do you think the Elves would have help your people if we where ruled by the council? You insults to me and you down playing of my praise of my people's work plays into the Anti war faction. They will call me weak and you a Anti-Elf human willing to sacrifice there sons and daughter to save human lives. I am just plain tired. Even in my own life I have no peace. Do you know Francis I am not even able to marry for love? It's true I have given everything for my nation, my house and my name." Celanor said as he began to drink glass after glass of wine.
As he listened to Celanor speak his mind about the troubles back in the Empire and how his actions needed to be reflected in the matter they were in, Francis actually started to feel sorry for Celanor. Provided by this point Francis had gone through several drinks and was buzzed, but he still managed to relate to the troubles Celanor was going through between the war and with the fighting. Taking another shot, Francis spoke to the embattled prince. "Celanor, you and me both are tired of this war and are tired of this political infighting. Hell, I honestly thought when I married Vera and Amirra that Vera's father and family would kill me because of politics, but I managed to change their entire perspective on humans. Provided, I know I can't do that to every Elf I meet, but still I managed and survived. That is what you need to do is survive and continue this war because you need to for yourself and not anyone else. If that means you becoming field-commander than so be it, but I will not have this rift between the Elves hamper the chances of my nation never becoming free again. So lets go and finish this vote as it looks like I know who I have to vote for. Damn, me bowing down to you, I must be drunk." With that Francis finished his last shot before he helped Celanor up.
