The Elven Imperium wrote:Celanor was taken back by Francis's words. He took a drink of the Elven wine and spoke. "You don't understand. The Imperial Family is the only thing that keeps the other Elves from tearing each other apart. The Sha-Coronel title can either be a figure head or a ruler. To be a ruler of that collected pit of vipers one must be strong and hard. Like my father. My relies on me to win the crown and lead our people toward a strong central government. If I fail a weak Sha-Coronel will be elected after my father. The High Council Will be in charge. Those fools can not agree on anything. Do you think the Elves would have help your people if we where ruled by the council? You insults to me and you down playing of my praise of my people's work plays into the Anti war faction. They will call me weak and you a Anti-Elf human willing to sacrifice there sons and daughter to save human lives. I am just plain tired. Even in my own life I have no peace. Do you know Francis I am not even able to marry for love? It's true I have given everything for my nation, my house and my name." Celanor said as he began to drink glass after glass of wine.

As he listened to Celanor speak his mind about the troubles back in the Empire and how his actions needed to be reflected in the matter they were in, Francis actually started to feel sorry for Celanor. Provided by this point Francis had gone through several drinks and was buzzed, but he still managed to relate to the troubles Celanor was going through between the war and with the fighting. Taking another shot, Francis spoke to the embattled prince. "Celanor, you and me both are tired of this war and are tired of this political infighting. Hell, I honestly thought when I married Vera and Amirra that Vera's father and family would kill me because of politics, but I managed to change their entire perspective on humans. Provided, I know I can't do that to every Elf I meet, but still I managed and survived. That is what you need to do is survive and continue this war because you need to for yourself and not anyone else. If that means you becoming field-commander than so be it, but I will not have this rift between the Elves hamper the chances of my nation never becoming free again. So lets go and finish this vote as it looks like I know who I have to vote for. Damn, me bowing down to you, I must be drunk." With that Francis finished his last shot before he helped Celanor up.

Celanor was once again taken a back by Francis words. "Your going to vote for me? Why?" After all I have done to try to get you replaced and your hatred of politics why support me?" Celanor said surprised.

As they made their way back to the ruined city hall, Francis briefly spoke to answer Celanor's questions. "Because, Celanor, you need this opportunity to prove to yourself that you are capable and strong. I'm doing this for you so you can become strong. Don't do this for the Empire or for your father, this moment and opportunity is for you. And even I know that without you or the Elves the Imperium has no chance to win so hopefully this will end our fights. However, Celanor, this moment is for you to become better so don't squander it." With that the two arrived back into the room with the other leaders as Francis spoke up. "Before the Elves make their vote, I have decided that my vote and the Imperium's vote will be going to support Prince Celanor of the Empire for the position of Field Commander. Since I am representing both the alliance as Supreme Commander and the Imperium, these represent two votes for Celanor. Let the voting continued."

Celanor looked stunned at Francis proclaimation for the first time in his life the prince had nothing to say. After a little bit of looking stunned, Celanor finally spoke. "With such support of our fine allies, I cannot but just accept Lord Francis's recommendation. I Prince Celanor ap Vyshaan speaking on behalf of the Empire of the People herby votes for myself. Not out ego but a new beginning for us and our alliance." He said with out a trace of ego.

This revelation caused not only a slight uproar with the Phoenixian Delegation.
" I say we should object sir, I would have accept everyone but Celanor is welll..." Lady Német tried to start a approach.
" We will do no such thing and you know that. This would cost use the Elves and probably the War Forges as well. Also it is Lord Kissingers decission and I trust him and his decissions. I know you are not fond of high noblicity but remember you are still under my command so nothing is changing for you. I'm the man who need to translate Celanors commands into efficient tactic.
You have my word on that." He noticed that the other delegations were oggling them strangely already.
" We're discussing a point, You said each Nation will have one vote and that you would only vote personally to avoid a tie. However I can accept this decission, it's not uncommon to nominate a successor and you were a good commander of the Alliance so far so I have no reason to object that. Congratulations Prince Celanor, I hope you will continue Francis good work so far."

As Francis made his voice and votes known for who he was supporting, he could see his vote had caused some stir and notions of becoming uncomfortable as he had voted for Celanor. While the Elves were surprised with how Francis had voted for Celanor, Francis could also see that some of the Phoenixian generals were not happy with the decision and he could see that some of the Constannian leaders and Dimitri were confused over the decision. Letting the vote sink in, Francis spoke up to the leaders to explain his actions. "Well, I can see that my vote has surprised everyone over the matter of the new Field Commander for the Crown Alliance. Even I am still shocked over the vote I made, but nevertheless I have my reasons for selecting Prince Celanor. While he has a somewhat cocky side to him, Celanor has proved his worth to both his people and to the alliance in the battles he has faced. As such, after Kingsmarch and the Steel Pass Prince Celanor will be the next Field Commander while I will remain in Steel Harbor to facilitate with new troop deployments and planning reconstruction after this war is done. Now, if there aren't anymore questions from anyone, we can begin with the planning of taking Kingsmarch and The Steel Pass."

The Phoenixians were still taken aback for a few minutes before Lady Német regained enough to count one and one together. She whispered something to the king who was confused for a few seconds until he had a small smile on his face.
He turned away and headed directly to the elven delegation before Celanor could make his speech.
" Excuse me prince, could I speak with you in private ?" After they gained the necessary bit of privacy the king came to the point.
" After you aer elected as the new field commander you will need to elect a new commander for the elven forces right ? Well I had a suggestion for that. General Alastair, he's not only a good commander but a good tactican and he has no prejustice against huamns, his cooperation with Lady Német and his fight in Greenstown proves this. It's only a suggestion but if you could make a decission not biased on political believes he would be the best option."

Celanor nodded at the king's words. "Well I was originally going to give my brother the command. General Alastair is a good command and the soldiers would support the move. But I wonder if Lady Nemet had an ulterior motive. She loves him doesn't she?" He said with a voice almost a whisper.

The king nodded. " Yes that's why she asked me, that's and your let us say colorful history with you. However I agree with her, I saw him on the battlefield and I think your statistics will show you already what he had accomplished. "Love can be a powerful thing..sometimes I wish...." Celanor stated before he look of to the distance. The king would not remember but Celanor had fallen in love in his very kingdom once not too long ago. despite anything else Celeanor understood putting aside love for duty and the pain it caused. He stop his day dream and turn back to the king. "My generals obey me, not the other way around. General Alastair will make a good command of the Elven army. I'll just have to give my brother another assignment perhaps deputy to me. That should free Jaaera to be assign to Lord Francis's staff." The Prince smiled.

The King was truly surprised by this. " You are wiser than I thought, no offense but Lady Német was not alone with her thoughts and I admit my evaluation of you was wrong. I only hope you will not disappoint us all. The brotherhood deserves to be liberated. You will have my support for what ever you need. Name it and at least until this war is over we will give it to you without strings attached. Good luck Commander, you will need it when Max will return with his damn magic." He bowed sharply to him, making sure the elves could see this...

As the desicion was made final Dimitri slumped down in his chair, The only reason why Francis voted fro Celanor that he could make out was that the elves would have withdrawn their forces if Celanor was not chosen. After a minute or two Dimitri got up and headed out of the meeting hall. He went to the Valo HQ in the city to get some things checked and underway. As he got to the HQ he felt a bit of relief that he wouldn't have to be in-charge, He was the leader of a large nation yes, but none of there lives were Dimitri's problem. He decided to go get some food before going to HQ so he went to a pub nearby.

Once Everyone had spoken his mind on the subject of a new commander. Prince Celanor final spoke. "My fellow Allies I thank you for your thoughts and guidence. As Lord FRancis says we need to start planing our next operations. Before that however I need to announce some changes in the Elven military structure. Since I will be assuming the role of Allied commander. The Elven armies in the Imperium need a new command I hereby apoint General Alastair to command of the Elven army her in the Imperium. I also name my bother Prince Andy to deputy Allied Commander and assign General Jaaera to Lord Francis staff." He said with a smile

Celanor pause to give himslef strength. "I also in a show of support and solidarity, herby gift all Warforge in the imperium to Emperor Tiberius and Lord Francis. As Elven commander and Prince of the Empire it is my right to redistribute Elven equipment as I see fit. Lord Francis will now have the responisbilty for the Warforge and how they will be treated as such. To use Elves they are now Imperium soldiers." His last words where not for the allies as his own people. Now if Francis wanted to treat them as equals. No Elf lord could complain. Yes there would be some argument by his own people toward him later, but he was in his right to do what he did.

RebeliousCanada wrote:Shatner finally was able to get back onto his feet after 2 days of operation. He walked outside of the field hospital and saw all of the retreating Canadian soldiers riding past him in Soldier transports. Shatner wanted to go phone the Canadian war council and tell them about the kings war crimes. But for now, He had to go back to Steel Harbor. Where he could command air operations. He was moved to a nearby airfield that was being destroyed by Canadians themselves. They didn't want it to fall into enemy hands.
" Why are you burning the place down? Our allies could use it!" Said Shatner as he came to the airfield.
"Because, Sir, We're worried it'll fall into enemy hands." Said a Soldier.
"We're 41 miles behind friendly lines. I doubt the enemy would be able to take that much land. Theres gonna be serious changes when we re enter this war." He said as he entered a Canadian C5 Galaxy.
But that wasn't the only demoralizing act he saw, He saw multiple Canadian garrisons be burnt down. Mostly in the liberated towns. He shook his head as he saw Marines fire tear gas at the civilians that were begging them not to leave. He suddenly remembered, The Canadian P.O.Ws.
CRAP

As the forces of the RC began to pull their troops out of the various towns and villages, the civilians were worried to death as they thought the forces of Maximilian would be coming back to impose their rule over them. Between the hastily retreat from the RC forces to the mass hysteria that soon encompassed the villages and towns, many of the civilians began to riot and become paranoid over the retreats. Soon fires and looting took place within these villages and towns as people thought that the Crown Alliance had abandoned them. While forces from Steel Harbor from the newly developed Imperium Armed Forces were soon able to occupy these areas to reassure confidence, the damage had been done to to civilians as they didn't want to associate with the RC after their hasty retreat.

With the news that the RC were going to regulate themselves to an Air-Only support for the next several months to a year, Emperor Tiberius made sure that he would have his people set up the necessary tools and deployments to ease the transition. Seeing that his time and need was needed over in Greens-Town, Emperor Tiberius headed back to the city to convene with the other Crown Alliance leaders. As he arrived back in Greens-Town, however, he decided to take a side trip to meet with his daughter and Prince Russell to see how they were doing. As he walked past the many tents and field hospitals, Tiberius had the eery and depressing state of death hit his bones as he walked past the bodies of the death and wounded. Soon, he found himself near the old city hall as he caught sight of the Constannian delegation.

Lady Német could barely hold back her tears, he would be secure but for the rest of the war they would probably only rarely meet.
However the king had a small, sly smile on his lips.
" Sir make I suggestion before we progress with anything else ? I know there were problems and misunderstandings within the alliance before and the communication between the different nations can be problematic. So I suggest that we add Liaison Officers from each nation to the staff of the Field Commander also."

Said commander looked confused between the king and the crownprince before a light lit up.
However the king was faster. " Excellent Idea, this should improve the communication between our troops significantly and that can make a huge difference. Also that way our reports will arrive much earlier and we have someone with expertise over the army in question how can estimate to what they are capable. I will miss her at the front but this a sacrifice I'm able to take, there are more then enough Officers capable to lead a army of this size, not as good as her but good enough."
He gave the former commander a literally nudge to go ahead. He could see that she was happy over that, confused but happy...

Seeing that Celanor was trying his best to start everything fresh in his new role, Francis shared a small smile as he listened to the other leaders speak about command staff changes and other priorities. Once everyone seemed to be settled in, Francis again spoke up. "Thank you Prince Celanor for your kind words and thought on your new appointment. And thank you again for transferring the Warforge to Imperium Command as a sign of good gesture as I will personally make sure that they will be treated with respect and character. Now, seeing that we have the vote out of the way, we can move forward with planning the next attacks on Kingsmarch and the Steel Pass. Wait.....were is Tsar Dimitri at? We cannot start this meeting without him." As Francis waited for an answer from the rest of the leaders, several aides started to search the ruined city for the Valorono leader so they could continue the war meeting.

The pause caused another chaos within the hall as several clerks ran to find the Tsar. The Crownprince could only grin, remembering the times where he pulled similiar stunts.
Lady Német however used the time more efficient and sneak up to the elven delegation. To see that Alastair was already waiting for her.
" Well this day is full of surprises no ? My congratulations to the new post commander." If they would not be in public she would far more things than the smile on her lips indicated...

Her smile widened. " Oh I think I can live with that. I will miss my men but when I'm in better use for the alliance behind the front so be it. I only hope you will have enough time later to celebrate this. I mean right now Celanor is still commander..."

The Elven Imperium wrote:Once Everyone had spoken his mind on the subject of a new commander. Prince Celanor final spoke. "My fellow Allies I thank you for your thoughts and guidance. As Lord Francis says we need to start planing our next operations. Before that however I need to announce some changes in the Elven military structure. Since I will be assuming the role of Allied commander. The Elven armies in the Imperium need a new command I hereby appoint General Alastair to command of the Elven army her in the Imperium. I also name my bother Prince Andy to deputy Allied Commander and assign General Jaaera to Lord Francis staff." He said with a smile

Celanor pause to give himself strength. "I also in a show of support and solidarity, hereby gift all Warforge in the Imperium to Emperor Tiberius and Lord Francis. As Elven commander and Prince of the Empire it is my right to redistribute Elven equipment as I see fit. Lord Francis will now have the responsibility for the Warforge and how they will be treated as such. To use Elves they are now Imperium soldiers." His last words where not for the allies as his own people. Now if Francis wanted to treat them as equals. No Elf lord could complain. Yes there would be some argument by his own people toward him later, but he was in his right to do what he did.

Seeing that Celanor was trying his best to start everything fresh in his new role, Francis shared a small smile as he listened to the other leaders speak about command staff changes and other priorities. As Dimitri finished eating he went into the Valo HQ to continue the work he was doing earlier that day. He was trying to co-ordinate how the Reinforcements will be reaching the ruined city. As He was doing this he could see several Foreign Dignitaries outside the Valo Camp inside the city. None of them made it in due to the fact that there were armed Guards everywhere, whom did not want a repeat of what happened about two weeks earlier, back in Muscovy. He was confused by the havoc the diplomats were causing. "What is going on here?" Dimitri asked as he approached the checkpoint where diplomats were arguing with guards.

Seeing Dimitri approach them was a welcoming sign as the aides needed to speak with the Tsar immediately. Bowing to him, one of the aides spoke to the Tsar. "Milord, your presence is still needed at the meeting as they are wait for you before they begin to go over the plans to take Kingsmarch and the Steel Pass. Your presence is needed now, milord." As the aide waited for a response, he looked to his watch as time was of the essence for him and for the others.

"Alright thank you for the information". Dimitri said as he called over his horse, mounted, and begin riding back to the meeting place. He fealt uneasy as he went back into the meeting room and sat back down amongst the other leaders.

Seeing that Dimitri was now in attendance, Francis smiled as he spoke again. "Now that we're all here minus the Constannian Delegation, we can begin going over a plan of attack against the mountain cities of Kingsmarch and the Steel Pass. As I have told you all beforehand, we need to take these two cities as they are the only route to get to the eastern half of the Imperium and to the capital due to their underground superhighways. Now, both cities are some of the oldest and most heavily fortified structures known to man, even more so then Muscov or Steel Harbor or Serov. Being built into the mountains directly, these cities are the key to retaking the east. From our last talks we suggested laying siege to them, but they would be bale to hold out indefinitely. So, how would you all wish to proceed?" As Francis waited for responses, the aides produced multiple maps of the area and of the city to help the others understand the true scope of this operation.
