Brotherhood Steel the 2nd wrote:Maximilian's soldiers were on the verge of routing the Crown Alliance forces in Greens-Town when the southern flank of the host was hit by the gleaming sight of the 1st Steel Legion and the Elven forces. With the amount of force and power those armies brought together, the southern flank completely faltered and routed as the rest of the Crown Alliance began one last desperate attempt to drive Maximilian and his armies out of Greens-Town and the Steel Valley. All around Maximilian's men began to falter as they started to retreat back into the mountains and back towards Kingsmarch and the Steel Pass. As Maximilian tried to compensate his magic to help his forces, he was again blinded and burned by the holy magic of the Elves as he had no choice but to retreat with his forces. Leaving his men to die to protect him and his retreat, Maximilian began to head towards the mountain roads when his contingent ran into the Honor Guard of Lord Francis.
As Francis and the Steel Legion drove further and further into the heart of Maximilian's army, his sights were set on the banner of Maximilian himself as he wanted to end the war here and now. After driving through many soldiers, Lord Francis had himself and his guard staring down Maximilian himself. With fire in his eyes and his sword and pistol in hand, Francis yelled at the man that had caused so much death and pain for him over these last ten years. "You bastard dog! I will end this war now and avenge all of those that have died by your hand. Back to the depths of Hell Maximilian!" Against the will of his own honor guard, Francis charged towards Maximilian and engaged him in combat. Fighting with rage and pure instinct, Francis managed to wound Maximilian in the battle as he used his pistol to shot part of his arm off. As Francis went in for the kill, however, Maximilian conjured enough magic to blast Francis away from him and into a pit of mines set by the Phoenixian's. Even though Francis was superhuman in almost every way, the blasts from the mines were enough to riddle his armor and body with enough wounds to cause him from fighting any longer. As he laid near a destroyed tank bleeding out and dying, his sight began to haze as he saw several allies coming towards him and the sight of Maximilian retreating into the mountains.
Elven soldiers picked up the broken Francis. They took him to a skilled Elven High Mage of healing. The wounds Francis suffer where terrible. The mage looked at assemble officers. "I can save him but there is a price. Someone will have to give of their life to save his."
