Deus is basically a monster that eats anything magic, with a taste for human flesh, at least that's what I can tell for now.

Yeah, that was kinda the problem, as Daniel's troops were confused with Chaos Space Marines. Is hard to fight against the Chaos gods when literally EVERYONE shots at you.

Let's put it this way. There is only one way to make Deus throw up. And that is a spell specifically designed to have Deus throw up when he consumes it. It has to be magic. Or it'll just be digested.
