Biopian development has after a hundred year's Reached it's peak in the home system. The B.S.S Chimera was sent out with 1 mission. To find another system to call home. With over Two thousand aboard the massive ship it was sent into the stars. Their goal was to find planet's within, or close enough for Terraforming, and to find Mineral rich Asteroid field's.

The Chimera, the pinnacle of Biopian engineering was over 2000 meter's long and sporting enough firepower to Both allow remote mining and defense should it find anything willing to give it trouble.

After a month long Jump, the Chimera appeared in an Uncharted sector of the Hades Nexus cluster. Nearly 500 Light years away from home.

While the locals didn't have anything nearly as impressive as the Chimera, they weren't exactly landlocked. There was indeed the belt that the invaders sought, suspended between the second and third planets from the sun. If they had sensors enough, the Biopians would see a small hive of activity within the Belt, as the locals simply referred to it. Tugs hauling containers of pre-processed asteroids toward the fourth planet, which seemed to be the civilized world in the system, as well as the only wet planet.

For now, these defenders seemed ignorant of Legion presence, neither expecting to find aliens in their system, nor likely capable of detecting them if they did.

As the crew slowly came back to full awareness from the long jump sensors began gathering data from the surrounding space. Instantly they picked up thermal signals similar to Booster rocket's. "Sir. Were not alone" One ensign dared to guess.

As soon as this revelation hit the Shipboard A.I. most system's were shut down, Life support and active sensors were among the few that weren't deactivated. "Sir, Mission peramator's are achieved in this system." The A.I. began scanning the many tug's and the Asteroids that were being mined. "Main gun is charged sir. Permission to fire"

"Denied. Charging blindly will only get us killed." He said "Sir the odd's that this scocity has anything that can damage the Chimera is" It only got that far before being cut off by the ship Capetian "Are out of the question." He said. The Main gun remained charged as the ship slowly regained power "Launch probes I want to see exactly what were dealing with"

As mining activity continued, it became apparent that these were not the only ships in the system. About a half-dozen far larger ships moved into view, indicator lights pulsing at their extreme points as they drifted through the system. Their high thermal output suggested they were generating more power than would be needed simply for drive, navigation, and life support.

These were warships, to be sure.

"Sir, mass shadow in the outer system."
"... Do a sensor focus."

"Sir active scans and Drone feed's indicate increased energy production. They seem to be warship's" The A.I. said. The Captain simply nodded. "Activate EM Shielding. Max focus around the Spinal gun" He told the A.I. who relayed the command to the engineer's at the opposite end of the ship.

The ship seemed to blur slightly as the powerful electromagnetic field enveloped it.
"Sir Shield's at 100% Reactor's operating at 50% Peak. Plotting firing course" The A.I. Said. "Delay that. See what they do. We will not be at fault"

The sensor technician and the captain of the warship exchanged pregnant glances. They had only just been done with asserting dominance over their own homeworld not three decades previous, and now, here were these newcomers.

"That's a lot of EMR." The scanner checked a few other displays. "... Negative of anything looking like a transmission, though."
The captain growled. "Go to red. Helm, engage the evasive maneuvers algorithms. Coms, signal to the Larkhess and Dunhuldt to do the same."

There were various acknowledgements, and the captain settled into his command chair as weapons systems began to energize.

"Send Morse Code. Who.Are.You." The Captain said followed by rapid fire taps."Message sent" the ensign said.

"Sir, EM Spikes match Weapon's signatures" The A.I. said. "Re routing power to frontal shields." the A.I. stated as it charged the Magnetic field to it's peak.

"Prepare targeting, and input activation codes on Javelin Warheads one through five" The Captain said. Across the ship 5 Launch door's opened and the Massive missiles slowly rose up as each was given a Launch code. "One through Five ready sir."
