"Right, none of you have done an Orbital jump before." One of Nine, Tertiary Adjunct of Unimatrix-004 said. "While we can survive vacuum, we can not survive an unaltered fall from space. That is why we have these drop pods." He opened a door in the room and stepped inside. "I'll be the first to jump. First, you close the doors, with this button, and then pull the cord." He did so. They heard a blast, and the pod fell towards the planet. Two looked at the next pod. "Let's jump." He said, stepped inside and blasted down towards the planet at .2c.

Th rest of the Ixtaccihuatl Exploratory Fleet dropped out of Phase Space near Sarthal III. The fleet was composed of mostly Long Range Missile Frigates and Heavy Cruisers. It was lead by a mixture of 12 Sovas, Akkans and Marzas.

The Being, alarmed at the arrival of the Ixtaccihuatl Exploratory Fleet, routed power to weapons and shields. The titanic vessel certainly had an insane level of shield power, but the 20 antimatter turrets, 6 flak cannons, and an ion cannon, a small aranment for a 3 mile long vessel, were not going to be enough to offer much of an actual threat to an entire fleet. but The Being could not let such a threat get near the Young Ones... But it's ship had the embryos of growing Tyllics in the biolab. They could not come to harm.

Commodore Ararat gazed at the assemblage before him. At the center of the screen was the mass of ships from the Ixtaccihuatl Exploratory Fleet(IEF). 300 kilometers to the starboard was a 3 mile long ship, heavily shielded but lightly armed. Ararat had never seen a ship like it before, and ordered as many scans as possible of it. He looked back at the screen. 150 kilometers ahead of them were the 4 corvettes and Kodiak Heavy Cruiser sent ahead. 300 kilometers to the port was a Canardian vessel. He didn't pay much attention to them, as they were a peaceable species, and one of the first contacted by the Confederation. And finally, to his dismay, a Collective Unimatrix was located in system. "Send a message to the long ship, say who we are and what we desire."

Unidentified Vessel, Identify yourselves. You are in Althai Territory. Declare your Intentions.

Planetside.

"I would like to inform you that the rest of our fleet has dropped out of Phase Space. It will be stationed here until you have sufficient defenses of your own, if you so desire. Also, a Collective battle fleet has warped in" said Lt. Commander Poltva.

The ship fired a warning shot at the command vessel from its ion cannon, coming so close that the officers on the bridge scrambled to take cover from it.

Unidentified Vessel. You have initiated a hostile action against a Warship of the Inesean Confederation. We are here at the request of the Althai, the inhabitants of Sarthal III.

"Sir," one of the Thegns said, "we're in position for emerging from the Mist."
"Good," said høvedsmann Olav, "emerge sensor array, I want some Realspace readings."

Somewhere in the space near Sarthal III, there emerged a cloud of white a blue, out of which emerged the sensor array of the Vikingr. The Sigvardian explorers were only exposing what they needed to get good sensor readings into Realspace.

"Sir," another Thegn said, "we're detecting several spacecraft near the planet. Seems to include several capital ships. Orders, sir?"
Olav considered his options, then said, "emerge into Realspace, drop a Sensor and Communications Drone and submerge into the Mist again."

The Science Vessel emerged from the cloud of Mist.

Unidentified Vessel. You have initiated a hostile action against a Warship of the Inesean Confederation. We are here at the request of the Althai, the inhabitants of Sarthal III.

The Being was angered at the insistence of these puny outsiders. But its ship was inadequate to stop all of them. So, It launched a wave of pure psionic rage at the ships. As it watched, a shadow stole into the bridge behind It. And another, and another.

za'kesh felt this anger and pleaded to this being please STOP!! and gave his own backlash to the being, then tryed to tell him it would be fine as long as he was there., it is ok. we will not allow an unprovoked attack on anyone, mentally or phisically. reenforcements are on the way if need be. understand? did you not see the transmission made by the pavelostani? they wish to do to them as the pantheon did to you. he then proceded to board his shuttle pod (OOC: Za'kesh is the only KNOWN psionic of our race)

The ships psychiatrist, an empath, felt the anger rolling towards their ship. He knew what to do. After 40 years of war with the Collective, they had finally developed a device that blocked out invasive empathy. However, empaths could not use them, and he braced for the pain. Meanwhile, the PSITs, Phase Signature Interference Tags activated when the anger rolled over the person they were implanted in. The person only felt a minor pressure, and then was gone. Except on the bridges, where the Ships Empaths buckled over in pain.

The Being was engaged in combat. The Pantheon-converted Tyllics(all Tyllics are/were psionic to some degree) were mentally powerful, and The Being was having a hard time keeping the iron wills of all three of their minds from crushing through the steel walls of his. One Pantheid extended her will to far from her body, and Arados sent a flail of thought that stopped her heart. The metal pieces of her crackled with electricity as she died.

A Cube and diamond dropped out of warp space. "This is One of Nine, Fifth adjunct of Unimatrix-004." One hailed them. "An unknown vessel is in the area. It is not to be harmed. Do what you can to preserve it." One told them.
To Species 241 (Inesea) and Species 2891 (Tyllic): Inesea, you shall cease all hostilities with the Tyllics. If any shot is fired, we will not hesitate to assimilate both of you. Good day to you all.

Leaving the dead Pantheids upon the floor, The Being heard the Pavlostanian's threat. Knowing full well that (OOC: in the words of Boromir)one cannot simply graft metal onto thought and light, Arados was becoming irked by all of the other species present. So, he opened fire with all batteries on the Inesians, and ejected half the embryo pods towards Sarthal III. When they hatched, they would be full grown Tyllics, implanted with all of the Tomes of Knowledge their entire race had collected: another chance for the species to survive. Then, It proceeded to prepare to be boarded, siphoning raw energy from the lights, since It saw in heat signatures, It did not require them.

[Pavlostani]

"Is that weapon fire?!" Two asked alarmedly. "This is Two of Nine, acting Unimatrix commander. Board the Tyllic ship, and assimilate Arados and any technology you encounter. As of today, I believe we are fighting a war on two fronts."
To Species 241 (Inesea): Look, I know we're enemies. However, we warned Arados of possible consequences. We are about to begin assimilating his ship. We will not take hostile action against you unless provoked. Fair warning.

"Sir, enemy vessel has opened fire!" cried Tactical. Commodore Ararat asked "Damage report!" "Sir, the vessel lacks the firepower to destroy our ships, however, a corvette is damaged!" said tactical. "Open Fire" said Ararat, "And send a message to the Collective, tell them that this is in self-defense."

Collective, We were fired upon by the Tyllic Vessel. We are firing only in self defense.

Meanwhile, the Inesean fleet proceeded to attack the probe. All Capitol ships proceeded o pound the vessel with MACs and Masers. The other ships attacked too, with the corvettes dropped to the planet to help deal the the pods.

[Kistan]

Seeing that the cyborg scum were about to board, Arados retargeted all weapon fire on the boarding ships. Thinking quickly, he initiated a immediate birthing of all remaining embryos. The Tyllics were their equivalent of 21, but accepted the psionic link to Arados. They grabbed antimatter rifles and ran to the most important passages and chokepoints of the ship. Arados himself took 30 of them and ran to the hangar bay they would be boarded through.
Arados sensed that the damned Inesians intended to kill his clones on the surface. Then, he became irate. He would slaughter every non-Tyllic being in the system if the embryos were destroyed. He sent a long-ranged distress signal, aimed towards the Pantheon Sector. He would be gone by the time they investigated, with the embryos if he could. Another world would have to be chosen to repopulate on...

[Old Sarthal]

"Lieutenant, we're getting reports from all monitoring stations of your corvettes and really strange meteorites. Care to explain what's going on?"

"Another civilization has attacked our fleet, and has deployed drop pods to the surface. The corvettes are attempting to neutralize them"

We understand, and realize that Arados fired first.
Drones flew in through a hole in the Tyllic ship created by Inesean weaponry. Alarms and klaxons were blaring. 122 of 150 stumbled around. "There, a computer!" His comrade, 123 said. 122 ran over and plugged himself in. "I have data. We can assimilate it later!" He yelled. "Ready plasma!" 123 yelled. 122 ran forward, then stopped with dread. Tyllics were walking towards him. "They must be Arados's men!" 123 gasped. They fired plasma rifles and appendages. The first of the Tyllics fell dead. 122 fired another blast, hitting a second Tyllic. "Fire!" He yelled. They fired another salvo, incinerating the third Tyllic. "We can't hold out against these things!" 123 yelled, noticing a gash on his arm. Suddenly, the ship rocked as another MAC and Maser round struck them, and the Tyllics were slammed into a wall. 122 drew a knife and swiftly beheaded them. "That was too close." He said. He suddenly got wrenched backwards and torn in half. A final Tyllic stood behind him with bloody arms. "No!" 123 yelled and drew his knife. 122 had the data on the ship's computers. 123 realized he couldn't win this fight. But that wouldn't stop him from trying.

All over the ship, similar encounters were occurring. Several drones had managed to capture technology from the computers, and a few had made it back to the fleet. 138 of 150 and his team prepared to assault the enemy bridge and assimilate Arados, unaware that he had left to stop the rest of the Collective. "Let's finish what 000 started." He said darkly.

[Kistan]

Then, The Being decided, was the time to change course, so to speak. He set a landing course towards Sarthal III and prepared a squad to help collect the embryos, despite the boarding cyborg scum. He walked past a Tyllic and Pavlostanian grapling, and lazily beheaded the latter.
