The Kodiak and corvettes dropped out of Phase Space 600 kilometers out of orbit of the inhabited planet. A Corvette accelerated towards the planet, while a diplomatic crew boarded an Atmos drop ship.

We are sending a diplomatic party to the largest population center visible. If you wish for us to go elsewhere, please send us the coordinates.

"That's where the Ineseans are going to land. Get me the legates, the Council, and the best programmer you can find."

In a few minutes, the military top brass, the civilian ruling Council, and a random Servitor pulled from the offices of a nearby software collective were assembled expectantly at Atina Prykal Aviasiya, the airport boasting the longest landing strip in close proximity to Atina proper. They would form the first contact delegation of the Athlai Republik.

"Alright Three, action." Two said. Third of Five activated a camera, and Four began acting. He activated the ship's teleporter, and teleported himself from one end of the room to the other. Then, he pointed down towards a metropolis on the planet. "And cut." Two said. "I hope they get the message." Five muttered. "Where is the rest of the Unimatrix?" One asked weakly, still recovering from Arados's attempt at communication. "The coffins are about a day away. The spheres are about two days to arrival, and the diamond is slightly between the spheres and coffins. We don't have any torpedo ships or missile ships." Three reported. "Species 241 has agreed to a cease fire." Four added. "Excellent. Let's send this video to them." One gasped.

The Atmos drop ship detached from the corvette when the corvette entered the utmost reaches of the planet's atmosphere. Sensor reading registered it as breathable. The ADS accelerated towards the large city nearby. They set down where the aliens told them to. First came 4 Confederate Rangers, then Lt. Commander Poltva, and finally a small robot, who's sole purpose in life was to translate binary to Inesean and vise versa. Lt. Commander Poltva also carried a UniTrans, but that would require several minutes to grasp the new language. The group headed towards the group of alien nearby. The robot transcribed in a binary burst-

We are the Ineseans. Transmit binary codes, I will translate them.

He whipped out his PA and quickly transcribed the binary burst. In its preprogrammed robotic tone, it repeated:

We are the Ineseans. Transmit binary codes, I will translate them.

"Can we send messages back?"

"Yes, Consul."

We are the Athlai Republik's delegation, as previously stated. DO you have a device capable of translating our language directly, without the use of your *Tien gestures towards the robot* assistant?

The world we developed on had no natural predators. Except ourselves. We fought among each other with weapons like these Directed Energy Weapons or DEWS as we call them. Do you have a concept of fighting each other?.

No. We are all of the People. If we had fought each other, our species would have been wiped out by the fauna of this planet. It was not until the near total extermination of our predators by a combined effort of the tribes that our numbers surpassed one hundred million. In what is regarded by the philosophers as a less than subtle irony, the Aytenis that once preyed upon us are now raised for food. They are a delicacy.

The Being sensed radio signals, but ignored them. Whatever was being said was of secondary importance. It routed power to shields and hacked the ship's systems and copied all stored information. Then, it realized that it was likely to be a friendly starship commanded by One. It released the ship, and through its transmitters, said:
Do not panic. I am here, young race.

One of Five shivered. "I can feel it... it is so close." He whispered. The others talked nervously, wondering if One would be okay. "Scan the ship. Assimilate the data." Two ordered. "Can we get the coffins to transwarp? I'd really like backup. Arados's ship gives me the creeps." Five said. "Tell me about it. I wish we were still back at Unicomplex-001. I wish we'd never come out here." Two muttered.

The Republik is ruled by a Council of Elders from each of the tribes. We discovered... "Phase Tech" this morning. Given that we discovered it this morning, I think you can infer the answer to the third question.
