Administrative note: I may be a bit slow in posting news updates over the next few days because of some PC trouble. My beautiful and beloved laptop gave up the ghost the other day, and the relic I'm on now is missing some very important keys. Suffice to say, it took almost three full minutes to write this post, and another minute to go back and spellcheck / correct errors in it. Put into perspective, it makes writing lengthy posts and/or updates a pain.

This is a fairly long overdue update on the current status of the Conglomerate as a whole, with some minor changes and some adaptations to current procedures and what not. Obviously, there has been some different plans going back and forth in a couple of different areas regarding returns, potential roleplays, and even new groups. Part of the restoration of the Conglomerate was forged with respect to (and in deference of) the past success of the superstate. However, there is a strong undercurrent of desire held by a good number of people that wish to join the ranks of the Conglomerate. If we fail to look at the larger picture and make room for those who are both willing and able to bring participation and camaraderie to the group, then we'll be nothing more than a farce—of the group that once bears our name, but not in keeping with the tradition. So, over the next little bit, I'm going to establish an application for people to submit that wish to become part of the restored Conglomerate. People that desire to join up can fill out the application, and those members of the group who are currently active can have a say on whether or not the applicant merits induction into our ranks.

With that being said, a brief word on activity. I hold no illusions to the real life commitments that we all face; it saps us of time on the site, as well it should. I of all people can testify to how much real life can interfere with our free time, which is part of the reason why I don't want to place as strong an emphasis on activity as others might. While I would hope that everyone that wishes to join makes an effort to participate, I recognize that the nature of this particular alliance bears special conditions. Some members wish to be privy to membership because of past connotations, even if they're unable to participate regularly. Others want to join this new incarnation to make a name for themselves, or be apart of the clique that was established. Unless a member wantonly disregards the rules, flames or trolls in an out-of-character context in #CongLegion, #NSSanctuary, this thread or other associated threads, or works against Conglomerate interests in an IC capacity that makes it difficulty ICly to continue to recognize their membership, the Conglomerate as a whole will never eject or remove member nations from its roster. Instead, nations that have gone more than thirty days without participating or having stopped by in one of the IRC channels will be moved to Inactive Status, which will last until they return. For that purpose, there is no "minimum majority" or baseline number of votes that an applicant must get to gain admission. Each application period from the moment of acceptance lasts for one week. The number of people who vote on the application determines the percentage that an applicant needs to gain admission. If four members discuss Nation X's application, then Nation X needs two of the four to vote aye. If six nations discuss Nation X's application, then three must approve, and so forth. Voting will always be done in confidentiality to prevent hurt feelings or any ill will.

Interested nations that wish to join the Conglomerate may fill out and submit this application at their leisure. Each application accepted for review by the Conglomerate shall be open to discussion for one week, or seven real life days. Active members of the Conglomerate will have the opportunity to discuss and lodge their vote either in acceptance or rejection of the application. There is no minimum baseline for required votes to gain admission beyond a simple majority of those nations who participate in the application review by lodging their votes. After seven days, a tally of the votes received shall be conducted to determine if the applicant reaches the number of aye votes needed to gain admission. Rejected applications may be resubmitted once every thirty days.
