PURPOSE
The purpose of the Cornellian Peace Organization is to enable nations in dispute to find other means of conflict resolution than war.. In a Region in which there have been several wars just in the past year, this is a pressing concern. The wars of the region have resulted in hundreds of thousands of refugees, disease outbreaks, loss of livelihood, dignity and lives for civilians as well as for military personnel.

STRUCTURE
Overall, all resolutions and agreements are made through the Peace Council which is made up of delegates from all member states.
Beneath the Peace Council, there are the following subordinate organizations to help with the peace process in the region.
1. A Mediation Organization to help with negotiations for peace between belligerent groups and nations.
2. A peacekeeping organization by which means signatory nations would be able to contribute military units that would help establish safe zones for refugees, would establish neutral zones between belligerent groups and nations, and help protect humanitarian aid.
3. A Conflict Study Organization that would gather information and prepare advice on the above services.
4. A coordination group for humanitarian organizations such as NGOs, to help best organize resources for helping people in need.
5. A regular meeting between signatory government officials to discuss regional business. This organization would be the Peace Council, made up of representatives from all signatories from the region.
6. It is also possible to add in other organizations that would assist this process—police cooperation, space and other scientific research, economic cooperation and so on.
The Mediation Organization
1. Trains and provide mediators to help with conflict resolution.
2. Adheres to generally accepted international principles of mediation.
3. Establishes the best possible peaceful compromise.
4. Listens to the grievances of each group, nation or organization with respect.
The Peacekeeping Organization
1. Has a rotating command. Every signatory nation would have opportunity to have commanders in the field or in overall command.
2. Is directly responsible to the Peace Council.
3. Signatories agree to maintain discipline over their own troops.
4. Rules of Engagement would be agreed upon for every mission.
5. Every mission would have an appointed commander from a pool of available commanders.
6. Every signatory would contribute at least one general or flag officer as part of this pool of available commanders—barring unforeseen circumstances it would therefore be a simple matter to choose one.
Conflict Study Organization
1. Is a think tank designed to study regional conflict and ultimately outer-regional conflict.
2. Gathers intelligence but with the focus being conflict prevention.
3. The aim of this organization is to reduce regional conflict replacing it with useful trade and regional cooperativeness.
4. The Conflict Study Organization would as needed be divided into branches, and would be under a rotational director position.
The Peace Council
1. Would be coordinated by a Chairman and Vice-Chairman, elected from within the representatives once a year. The purpose of this Chairman is to act as the organizer and facilitator of the council. For the first year the Chairman will be a New Edomite appointee until the organization has more than 3 members and the matter can be reconsidered.
2. Made up of representatives from each signatory nation.
3. Purpose is to decide on guiding policy within the guidelines of the Cornellian Peace Organization.
4. While all nations are sovereign within the Cornellian Peace Organization, the purpose is to facilitate peace. Signatories will have a simple vote on matters of policy.
5. The authority of the Peace Council shall be as follows:
- It will declare agreement that a peacekeeping or humanitarian mission should take place
- It will provide both a Civilian Coordinator for humanitarian missions and a Mission Commander for peacekeeping operations.
- Peacekeeping missions shall only take place where bodies in conflict agree that it should in order to maintain a neutral zone, or where humanitarian missions would otherwise be in danger.
