Second Imperial-Sechyvasian War (TG for Invite/IC)

Postby Imperialisium » Sun Oct 07, 2012 9:42 am

Reichshauptstadt Imperia

The Capital of the Reich and its Empire was bustling with unrelenting crowds of cheering citizens as the main boulevards flowed with flowers. In the streets the Imperial Armed Forces or Reichswehr was performing a dazzling military parade through the capital city. Banners flapped in the breeze, vehicles rumbled and aircraft soared over head as personnel from everyservice branch and the Reichschuetzstaffel marched in perfect formation. The Imperial Anthem sang above all this as the Emperor himself led the parade in full military regalia. Waving to adoring crowds as he led the Empires ever triumphant soldiery through the streets. As this was going on though the Reichswehr was already on the move in its mobilization as accross the country units became activated and the first wave of reservists reported in.

Zossen (Ober Kommando der Reichswehr Garrison GQ)
Five miles South-East of Imperia

Zossen, the sleepy town of 26,712 inhabitants was a different story to the fanfare that was happening a few miles away. Certainly some Zosseners had left for the city to celebrate while smaller celebrations occured in Zossen itself. The Garrison Battalion in Zossen had performed its own parade for the villagers as they watched 1,300 armed forces personnel march and perform for them.

In the Military HQ though located in the Western half of the town on Zossener-Strasse things bustled with a different kind of activity. Military officers, assistants, secretariats and other officials went to and fro as orders came and went from far off Adolfstadt to the heart ofthe Empire and even from the colonies. The OKR had three HQ administrative buildings in the Emperian Reich, two in Imperia and one at Zossen with a number of military facilities as regional HQs in all of the Imperial Provinces. This however was the main administrative heart that did most of the number crunching while the two in Imperia was simply the higher up offices and the Emperors own primary HQ.

Command Room 01, Fourth Floor, North Wing
Maps were strewn accross the table as military officers from all the Armed forces branches studied them meticulously. Some of the Empire and its colonies, others of the now Sechyvasian Socialist Democracy. Plans had already been proposed and right now the Empire was on the defensive stance as to what course it should undertake. Kriegsmarschall Johann Rommel, Commander of the OKR and reporting only to the Emperor himself had proposed the taking of one of the main Sechyvasian islands as a jumping off point for the invasion of the mainland.

"We only need to strike at the cancerous heart of that false government to tear it out." he argued. The Sechyvasian Queen however advocated that Diplomatic actions still be taken but that through previous TGs had fallen on deaf ears.

Other officers stated a direct strike and landing on the mainland without taking one of the islands was the speediest way but posed a threat to the rear and flanks. So that was discarded while Feldmarschall Heinrich Ritter von Freyden, a veteran of many conflicts and commander of Imperial forces at Losun during the First Sechyvasian-Imperial War reasoned an island hopping campaign.

"We take the islands in the West and then land in several locations on the Western Coastline. Then we push inland from there." said von Freyden.

The Emperor himself like both ideas of taking one island and the island hopping campaign. He never the less after some delibaration chose the Island hopping campaign, calling it Unternehmen Neptune (Operation Neptune).

Operation Neptune was so far being drawn up at a rapid pace as military intel, the Abwehr, knew the Sechyvasian unit dispositional strength to be approximately one Division on Fordas and some smaller units. With atleast a squadron of aircraft and probably a Fleet of Sechyvasian ships. The Imperials also knew that Gregany had two Divisions and several smaller units on the islands there. While Losun had atleast two full Corps of troops and was definately the most well defended.

Sechyvasia, Capital City of the Socialist Democracy of Sechyvasia

The city of Sechyvasia was in the mixed emotions of government change brought about by the Social Democrats. Sechyvasia had changed, the old Monarchy had been overthrown and the Queen Maria Artasia I, had fled. Now a Democratic President named John Tzemes was proclaimed leader of the country with a cabinent largely made up of Socialist Democrats. In reality he shared power with the top brass of the military which was going on full mobilization as the Imperials, who had previously been allies with the nation readied their own armed forces. Over the city the Blue white yellow of the new tri-color flapped in the breeze as the old crown over one star was furled and stowed away.

Royal Palace (Formerly)
The old Royal Palace was still the hub of government and military affairs as the new government began to make the final consolidations over the provinces in this national revival. The Military on the other hand was busy preparing the varous defences of the country to counter the Imperial juggernaut. The Sechyvasian military knew that to mount a lasting presence the Empire needed one of the three large islands West of the Sechyvasian mainland. The fall of just one would allow the Imperials access to a corridor of the mainlands Western coast. The fall of two or three would mean the coast was open and therefore the Sechyvasians began lengthy frontier defences and additional forces was flown directly to the islands.

36 Hours from North West Coastal waters around Fordas.

The 1st Imperial Fleet under Admiral Hans Kleve-Kafzstein had beein steaming at all ahead full for a day against calm waters and clear skies. The 1st Fleet carried the Heer and Marine components that would land at Fordas while the Luftwaffe's Geschwader 17 had equipted the carriers with six squadrons (72 Aircraft), plus the small Navy Marineflieger detatchments (two Squadrons of light and reconnaissance craft). The Imperials plan was to secure a beachhead on the southern coast of the island and advance outwards before making an assault on the main Sechyvasian city (Fordas). The 1st Marine Division was the lead the way as the 22nd landed afterwards and began its own push inland. The Fleet would provide fire support while the Luftwaffe sought to establish atleast aerial superiority. Feldmarschall Heinrich Ritter von Freyden, the officer currently incharge of all offensive operations against Sechyvasia would land at Fordas once the island was secure to begin in-region coordination of Imperial Army forces. Already the 23rd and 31st Infantry Divisions along with the 2nd Sturmtruppen Regiment was readying to be shipped in theatre for the assault on Gregany and consolidate for the assault on Losun. The 4th and 5th Marine Divisions would also join while Geschwader 18 was released for theatre command. The Imperial 3rd Fleet was also theorized to join the theatre to begin wresting control of the seas in the west from the Sechyvasians.

Medina as-Salam Harbor, Capital Island, Al Horeya
After many days and nights of speeches, political maeuvering, and strategic Communications with the Queen and the Emperor, Sultan Syf Allah and the Herhan military were finally free to begin their attack on the Sechyvasian Islands. Their first target: Fordas.
"How long until we reach Fordas?" asked Vice Admiral Andrea Stalos.
"2 days for us, 3 if the seas get rough" answered the Sultan. "We have two Squadrons ahead of us, though. How close are they to the target?"
"They're only a few hours away. They should arrive with the Imperial Ships" responded Emir Mikhail Puchini, the 5 Star&Crescent Emir chosen for this theatre.
"Perfect. Admiral Gorski is one of the best we have. Hopefully he'll make short work of most of the Naval resistance.
Once we arrive with Metzger Squadron and begin to land, though, things may get ugly."
Metzger Squadron:
19 Amphibious Assault Armadas-
19 Gannet class carriers (Each carrying 10 Fighters, 5 Tiltrotors, 10 Landing ships, and 500 Troops)

Four hours North of the Sechyvasian Island of Fordas
"Admiral Gorski! We will soon be within Dreadnought range of Fordas, and will be entering Sechyvasian waters in just over 3 hours."
"First off, you know quite well how I hate all these titles. If Julius was good enough for my mother, it sure as hell is good enough for you. Understood, Commodore Fripouille?"
"Perfectly, sir."
"Thank you. Now, break off from the rest of the Fleet. Radio the Albatross. Tell them to do the same."
"Where will we be headed, Julius?"
"Admiral Julius. We'll be heading Southeast of our current position, into fighter range, but only just. We'll be Schurke Squadron. The rest of the Fleet will be heading straight into Fordas. It's our job to support them with Artillery."
"With all due respect, sir, that's not quite what Emir Puchini asked us to do. Besides, you're already Admiral of the Fleet, Vice Admiral of Jäger squadron, and Commodore of this Armada. Are you really going to add Vice Admiral of Schurke squadron to that list?!"
"First of all, screw Mikhail. I'm gunning for his job anyway.
Second, if I was going to do that, why would I have called you into the office in the first place? Vice Admiral Fripouille?"
Fänger Squadron:
Four Blue Water Armadas-
4 Hoatzin class carriers (Each carrying 37 fighters and 3 Tiltrotors)
16 Cruisers

Fordas

In Fordas City the 148th Garrison Battalion built barricades and rolled barbed wire through major routes and intersections. Created choke points and blocked major entrances into the city with a call for the two and a half million civilians of the city to either evacuate to the mainland or stay in their basements. A full night time shut down of lights was in order to atleast help against enemy bombers and aircraft. The 49th Infantry Division was spread out across the island at Battalion strength and primarily facing west and North against the main enemy forces. The 451st Home Defence Brigade was in the south and the 11th AA Defence Battalion manned varous SAM an AA sites. Mostly in and around Fordas City or near the coastline. The 14th Engineers also broke up into platoons to begin coastal defence construction with the other Royal Army forces. Mining beaches and barricading roadways to slow down the enemy should the outer defences be broken.

Fordas City

Leutinent General Cornelius Postham, aged 40, walked along a street in the city. Watching and saluting soldiers passing by as his jeep rolled along beside him. He liked to walk and inspect defences himself, like quite a few General officers who kept good relations with the frontline NCOs and troops. He knew Fordas had only a marginal hope of holding out should it be cut off and surrounded by Imperial Forces. In the last war the island was conquered in a few days due to blitzkrieg; that was not going to happen today as the Sechyvasians knew what they were dealing with.

"Good evening Private." said Postham to a soldier checking the sites of an AA Mark 8 122mm Quad gun mounted on a 360 platform in a small city square. It was operated by two soldiers with a platoon of Home Defence troops nearby on patrol. A Hummer with a 50.cal mounted on it sped by wit ha convoy of eight supply trucks going out of the city. Probably to further supplying the Sechyvasian troops elsewhere.

The Sechyvasian 4th Fleet under Admiral George Culligan was just outside the Fordas Harbor and was readying to steam and engage the Imperial Fleet once it arrived. So far flight patrols showed it was very close and would be arriving shortly.

Royal Palace (Now Presidential Palace)

John Tzemes looked at the map of Sechyvasia and particularly Fordas. He knew the island would need access to the mainland to have any chance of holding. So he had instructed the Sechyvasian 7th Fleet, wit hthe same disposition as the 4th to head from being north of Kilernas t osupport the 4th Fleet. He also wanted the 35th Infantry Division sent to Fordas and he knew the additional 15,000 troops would be of great assistance.

Imperial Arrival at Fordas

Postby Imperialisium » Thu Oct 11, 2012 4:08 pm

Western Coast of Fordas

The Imperial 1st Fleet was insight of the large island and closing fast with the beaches. The big guns on the larger ships fired off once they were inrange. Not like they'd hit anything special but to more or less begin the process of telling the Sechyvasians the Eagle has awoken; The World would see its Might. Admiral Hans Kleve-Kafzstein stoof on the bridge of the Supercarrier Graf Spee as a flight of Eurofighter Typhoon-A's took off to join the rest of a Squadron roaring towards the Island to straff and bomb the beaches. Marines from 1st Marine Division also began to ready aboard their landing ships and the first few smaller landinf craft zoomed ahead to deposit their company of soldiers to form toe holds for the larger ships to drop the larger Battalions of the Division.

Landing Craft 110/A

Soldat Johannes Kelle cradled his G36 Assault rifle as the craft sped through the calm waves on the bright 11th hour of the morning sun. His Stalhelm was already flecked with water as the craft was mere 200 meters from the beach. This would be his first time in combat and he was scared shitless. Some of the Veterans remained stoicly silent and merely looked straight ahead as the commanding officer. Oberleutnant Emilmann, lead a group in singing the Heil Dir im Siegerkranz. The Imperial National Anthem. He was looking behind him when he saw the 12 distant Eurofighters zoom towards the beach and fire two missiles each at the beach. Then the 75. calibre cannon on the small landing craft opened fire and began to lace the area beyond the beach with gunfire. The other 14 or so landing ships he could see had done the same. The ships had begun to fire as well, they'd be going into hell.

25 Kilometers Northeast of Fordas Island
"How are the ballast tanks, captain?" asked Vice Admiral Fripouille of Captain Urdu al-Hawwi.
"They're at 96%, about 3 minutes until they're full" answered al-Hawwi. They'd been lifelong friends, and while al-Hawwi was content to remain a captain, he always knew Fripouille Yamamoto would go far. Still, the sudden news of Commodore Fripouille's advancement straight to Vice Admiral shocked and delighted them both.
"And the counter weights?"
"They've been lowered, Vice Admiral. The Admiral is in your office, by the way. He said he wanted you to come by ASAP."
"Huh? What for?"
"Hell if I know! He's almost as hard to understand as your sister!"
"You decided to marry her, Urdu. Don't say I didn't warn you" he laughed.

A minute later, he was in his office watching Satellite Reconaissance videos with the Admiral.
"How did you know they'd send reinforcements?" wondered the Vice Admiral.
"Call it intuition. I just felt that this Northern pass had to be protected, and now that we see these ships coming from Kilernas, I know I was right. How soon can we fire?"
"Give them a minute and the Ballasts will be full. Weights have already been lowered."
"Perfect! Open fire on them ASAP."
"Of course, Admiral Julius. What rounds should we use?"
"Start with the delayed timer rounds. I know they're sub-sonic, but they'll be devastating. After 2 or 3 salvos, switch to regular high explosive rounds. I want all 32 Cannons on that fleet. How long will each salvo take to get to them?"
"The first, about 16 minutes. We can fire one salvo per minute, and the times should decrease by about 10 or 15 seconds in that period."
"Great. I want the Albatross's Jets in the air. Divide them into 4 Waves. When one is on its way back, the other should be heading in. I want it timed, so the Kilernas fleet gets hit with a salvo between 6 and 7 seconds before the planes get there."
"Should I arm the defensive cannons?"
"When you can, yes. More importantly, get the ships into a defensive formation. I want every ship doing its job-Januaries hunting subs, Muhammads and Saturdays in anti-air roles, Isas laying out some anti-torpedo measures-the works. Oh, and one last thing.
Get me a scotch, will ya? Just in case things dont go our way."

Just off of the coast of the Northern Peninsula, Fordas
After days of sailing, Fänger squad has finally arrived at Fordas.
"Commodore Nasser, have you heard from the Admiral?"
"From Gorski? Vice Admiral Guevara, you haven't worked under him too many times, so let me warn you-you won't be hearing from him. Not for a while. He gave you orders, right? He trusts you. Do whatever it takes to accomplish your task."
"Seriously? Shit...ok, I want half of the Squad to go down the Eastern side of the island, and the rest to travel down the Western side. I want our aircraft scrambled. I want them flying in a criss-cross pattern among the carriers. We have to destroy as many airfields and hangars as we can to have any kind of shot at this. Try to avoid any Naval combat, but engage if you must. We'll try to knock out any gun emplacements, especially AA guns, with cannon fire."
"Yes sir, I'll tell the other Commodores now, and then explain it all to the crew."

The Southern Coast of Fordas
Jäger squad arrived on the Imperial fleet's shirttails. As the two Dreadnoughts sunk down for stability almost 2 kilometers back, the rest of the ships moved torward the Eastern side of the island, looking to meet the Sechyvasian fleet head on. Despite their great numerical advantage, not a single Herhan sailor allowed over confidence to enter his mind, lest he fall as Al Horeya's most powerful enemies did so many years ago. Instead, they were resolute in their actions, ready for anything as they opened fire on enemy forces on the beach and in the water. The submarine flotilla spread out along the battle field, with the Black class submarines working on jamming enemy electronics and white class providing protection for the dreadnoughts. The scene was chaotic, shells going off left and right, the sand from the beaches forming a dense, opaque curtain as it was lifted by the explosions.
The Herhans were listening intently, however, and when they heard the deafening blast from the Dreadnoughts, they stopped firing-a moment of silence, in honor of those who were about to die.
Every Herhan sailor counted the seconds, prayed for the souls of their enemies,
5
as the sky grew darker from the shells that had been fired.
4
Everyone looked up, the Shadow of Death growing ever greater.
3
Even the other troops noticed the coming darkness, some looking up at it, some fighting on.
2
The Beach was black now, the light of the Sun completely stolen from the shore.
1

A Day or so Northwest of Fordas
The Sultan looked for it on the horizon. He knew it was time, and as he looked out from the Crows Nest, he hoped he hadn't missed it. Then, suddenly, a light on the horizon. Small, but definitely there, followed a few moments later by a low grumble.
"It has begun."

Allied United Army Advancements

Postby Bengal and Damodar Province » Fri Oct 12, 2012 2:09 pm

After being grounded for more than 24 hours, the United Army was given clear orders by the Governor, to proceed for the Sechyvasian waters. All patrol missions were called off and ready orders were given to The United Nary and The United Air Force, to conduct naval raids into Sechyvasian waters. The United Army, geared up for heavy defense as shores were laid with mines and barb-wires to reduce the proceedings of an invasion by sea. Gun turrets and Anti-Aircraft Artillery raged the country, and citizens was given the warning about air-raids and was trained about bomb shelters.

'What are the orders, private? ', asked Grand Admiral Palash Mondal. Private, " Sir, The Raj Bhawan has ordered us to proceed for Sechyvasian waters, and bar, the Imperial Aggression on Sechyvasian mailand, while supporting Sechyvasian Defense on the island of Fordas. ", " Thank You Private, and please call Commander Shiela Dixit, Vivek Joshi, Sarnath Sharma and Wasim Allah on the deck. " " Yes, Sir. "

Commanders Sheila Dixit, Vivek Joshi, Sarnath Sharma and Wasim Allah constituted the A-Team of the United Navy, under the direct orders of Grand Admiral, these wackos gained the best out of adversities.

'Commander Sheila, reporting Sir.' said, Commander as she arrived on the deck of the UNS Bengal. The sea winds of the Bay blowing high as the UNS Siraj-Ud-Daulah and UNS Bengal, leaded the way of the Primary Convoy.
Soon, other Commanders also arrived and greeted Grand Admiral, in the same. Grand Admiral, ' So, the A-Team ha !, what do you have in yourselves that prove you the best ? You all seem cowards to me ? Are you all really ready for a war ? '
' Do not take us for granted, Sir. You know very well that, WE ARE THE BEST ! Just tell us our mission and we are sure to do it.', ' We have to have a plan, first. The Imperial Forces has already reached Sechyvasian waters, we are LATE ! Whats the fastest we can reach The Queendom ?', ' By the 3rd day, Sir, with our engines, at full throttle. Fordas, Imperial Landing Zone

The Zone of Imperial Landing in the Western Beaches was defended by soldiers of the 49th Infantry Division. They with Army engineers had dug trenches and laid mines with crisscrossing ranges of fire by MGs and Mortars. They scurried hunched over as the ysought cover when the Imperial ships fired their cannons.

'BOOM!'

was the deafening roar that spewed earth up to what seemed to be a mile in the air. A section of trench collapsed and screams erupted around as officers shouted orders and the first casualties registered. The section of beach wa defended by the 49th Regiment's II Battalion, a full 1,300 soldiers in defensive positions spread over 2 kilometres and 1 kilometre in depth.

"this is beach zone theta we are suffering Imperial Naval gunfire in our central zone. Enemy Amphibious landings are confirmed. Over" said a Major behind Sechyvasian lines into the Comms setup. He knew the Battalion had little hope of holding off a durational assault without support but if he could buy time then just maybe they could hold off the Empire until help arrived.

Fordas City

Leutinent General Cornelius Postham looked over the tactical maps of Theta Beach Zone with a grimace. That area of beach was easily transversible, no woods or rocky outcrops nor cliffs to pose a direct topographical advantage to the defenders, What it looked like was Imperial units at Division strength were assailing his forces their, they'd breach the defences for sure. He could pull forces from other areas but that'd leave him critically weak against the Horeyans. He noted a line of woods 4 kilometres back from the beaches and 34 kilometres from the river.

"If need be fall back to those positions if the beaches cannot be held." said Cornelius. He knew the United Army was coming but even with their assistance they'd be hard pressed to hold off.

"Sir Imperial Aircraft over the beaches!" yelled a Comms officer.

"Scramble fighters!" shouted back the Leutinent General.

Fordas Airbase

Fordas Airbase was located just north of the city beyond one of the suburbs and already fighter flights were scrambling into the air. The Sechyvasian Eagle or SE-4's were much the Imperial fighter designs counterparts but slightly larger. A full two Squadrons, the 23rd and 24th Fighter Squadrons ofthe 3rd Air Wing moved in twin,V, Formations towards Theta Beach.

"This is Squadron Leader we got eyes on Imperial Birds over." said a Squadron leader. The Aircraft primed their sidewinder missiles.

On carrier Gannet II, a few hours Northwest of Fordas
The Sultan looked around. "Familiar faces all around," he thought to himself with a smile. Next to him sat Andrea Stalos, Vice Admiral of Metzger Squadron, and Mikhail Puchini, Emir of All Forces in the Sechyvasian Theatre. Before them sat the 19 Comodores of the Armadas, ready for the briefing about to take place.
"Alright, guys, I have good news and bad news. The good news is that the plan is simple enough. The bad new is that there are a few unknowns involved, so we're gonna have to stay on our toes."
The room darkened, and satelite imaging came up on the whiteboard across the room.
"What we're looking at now is the Island of Fordas. As you can tell, our dreadnoughts have begun bombing the beaches, and the Imperial troops are making good headway inland. You can also see the rest of Jäger squad's Naval forces to the east. We want to defend this pass between the Fordas and the Island to its East, and keep enemy forces from making it out to the open Sea, where they will attack the Imperial landing craft. So long as we can hold, all will be well."
"We're missing a dreanought armada and the Albatross, sir" mentioned Vice Admiral Stalos, while a worried Emir Puchini looked intently, searching for the tell-tale signs of a sunken ship.
"Don't worry. Admiral Gorski decided it was best to protect the Northern Pass. He was right, of course, since he had to engage a group of Reinforcements from Kilernas right away.
Looking at the North, we find two other areas of interest. First, we see Fänger Squad approaching the City, just as Fordas Airfield is emptied, its aircraft heading torwards the South. Whether or not we will get there before they get back remains to be seen, but we're looking pretty good. The Eastern group of the Squad is going to stop in line with the City, in an attempt to box in the Sechyvasian Navy. The Western Group is going further south, in an attempt to get behind enemy lines and hit them in the rear. Should the Sechyvasian Airforce turn back, we should be able to slow them down long enough with these planes to ensure destruction of the runways by the Eastern group.
Second, we see the missing Dreadnought and the Albatross. When the URBDP sent word of its coming forces, Admiral Gorski decided to pull back and provide closer support for the attack on the city, in an attempt to speed up victory.
We will arrive there soon. We will be landing somewhere North of the City, though exactly where depends on how successful Fänger is. Any questions?"

OOC: Bengal your troops travel fast? on post and their already paradropped and everything.

OOC General: I feel like people are missing on how large Fordas Island is. The islands half the size of madagascar so NO ship unless its a missile or rocket equipted vessel with atleast medium long range missiles could reach one side to the other. Also its large enough you'd have to be pretty damn close to see anything going on besides satellite or recon.

You are mentioning that they are paradropped and the next moment you are contradicting that they are landed by ships ! Imperial, the forces in Fordas Island have arrived by air. It was announced on my last to last post, which is some 1day 8hrs old. So I think it is quite logical that Paratroopers, Air Dropped Equipment and Air Defense Aid will reach faster than waterways. And, again I mentioned that The United Navy is some what kilometers far from reaching the Sechyvasian mainland from the North East !! So read the whole post properly and then comment and BTW nobody is missing anything, now more properly, when you mentioned the size of the island. But how did you know that? Are you and The Sechs controlled by the same person, I have doubts sometimes !

OOC

I did read the posts Bengal, albeit lacking in quality but excelling in information. What I was saying is that yes Paratroops can ge their faster but its harder for everyone to RP properly if you just say,"they are there." It seems fast, like I'm reading an After Action Report rather than an RP.

Also why the hell would I control Sechs and the Empire....I'd rather just stick with the nation I created. Sechs and I know eachother in RL and we do talk to eachother via TGs, Emails, and even the occasional FB message.

Also Normans you need to TG for Invite...I know you are mentioned and all.

Not trying to be a prick but I am not the first RPer who thinks the quality is alittle missing. I see great potential for this to be an awesome RP!

Fordas, Imperial Landing Zone

The Imperials first wave of landing ships was made up of open topped transports (15) carrying 60 soldiers and 900 soldiers of the 1st Marine Division was in this wave alone. The larger transports carrying a company (300 with 10 of these making 3000 soldiers) each was the second wave with the third final wave being the larger Auxiliary vessels which would ferry the rest of the Division and the 22nd Infantry as well.

Theta Beach Landing Zone (Imperial Designation: LZ West)
Landing Craft 110/A

The drop down ramp of the Landing craft slammed down into the shoreline with a thump! Kicking up some water in a shower of mist as Imperial Marines stormed onto the beach. Some hitting the dirt and firing their G36 Assault rifles at the Sechyvasian trenches. One soldier fired his hand held grenade launcher sending the small shell into a forward trench. Soldat Johannes Kelle ran as fast as he could off the ramp and onto the sand, his weapon across his chest and hunched down to create a smaller target.

"Move up!" yelled Oberleutnant Emilmann as he directed squads of his company up the beach. The resounding booms and crashes of the Imperial Naval Artillery dimming out much of the noise. Kelle ran and fell into a shallow fox hole as some sand gave way. A fire team of Marines were there too firing up the beach in short bursts.

Skies over LZ West

"This is Staffel Kaepitan Ulrik, we got about two squadrons of Sechies coming in hot. Moving in to intercept." The twelve Eurofighter-As changed course and vectored up alittle before arming their Taurus AA Missiles. Each Eurofighter had six of them to compliment the two KEDP missiles and twin machine guns when all else failed. As he radioed his report back toe the Graf Spee he picked up more blips on his radar. Another two squadrons of Eurofighters were launching from the aircraft carriers and speeding at all haste to flank the Sechyvasian Aircraft.

"On my count fire at target of opportunity." spoke Ulrik and he got confirm clicks from the comms.

"3...2...1 FIRE!" and 12 Taurus Missiles blasted from under their wings and towards twelve seperate enemy fighters.

Port of Athane, Continent of Alesia, The Empire

The Dock was busy as 23rd and 31st Infantry Divisions loaded up onto 20 Auxiliary vessels and the 3rd Imperial Fleet prepared to get underway. The 4th and 5th Marine Divisions also prepared and were loaded up with the Fleet while Geschwader 18 based at several nearby airbases mobilized its aircraft for preparations to leave. The 3rd Fleet was also increased in number of ships as the Navy mobilized and the 1st Fleet was due to recieve its full mobilization compliment in the next few days. At last moment the 12th Jaeger Division was also to be dispatched from the nearby Thessalon Army Base to assist in the urban fighting should Sechyvasian forces attempt a holdout in the city.

Imperial Additional Compliment of Units
Kaiserliche Marine (Imperial Navy)
3rd Fleet
1 Supercarrier
2 Aircraft Carriers
1 Light Carrier
2 Battleships
1 Pocket Battleship
1 Battlecruiser
12 Sachsen Frigates
7 Cruisers
18 Destroyers
25 Auxiliary/Transport ships
12 Submarines attached from Under Sea Fleet Command
4th Marine Division: 12,000 soldiers with Divisional Vehicles and Equipment
5th Marine Division: Same as 4th

Luftwaffe (Air Force)
Geschwader 18: 125 Aircraft of various types

Reichsheer
23rd Infantry Division: 15,000 soldiers with full vehicle and equipment
31st Infantry Division: 15,000 Soldiers and same as 23rd
12th Jaeger* Division: 13,000 Soldiers

*The Imperial Jaeger Divisions are not as well armed overall like an Infantry Division so it lacks brute strength. But it is designed to fight in adverse weather, urban environments and/or in smaller units. They are heavier equipted then Gebirgsjaeger Divisions (Mountain Divisions) but less so than Infantry Divisions.

Theta Beach

"INCOMGING!" *WHOOSH-BOOM!*

The resounding yells of officers and soldiers along with the crashes and explosions of the battlefield ripped across the beach the full width of the landing zone and atleast a mile inland. Tracer fire and small arms fire interspersed with mortar detonations and larger calibre weapons created a patchwork of death. soldiers clung to the bottom of their foxholes, trenches and dug outs like all hell had been unleashed. They would briefly poke their S16 (Looks like modern M16) guns to fire bursts of fire or peek their head up to open fire. Sergeant Albert Haldham was doing the same as gunfire from the storming Imperials shot upwards. The Naval bombardment was the real killer though as the huge 420mm shells of the battleships would leave large shell holes a whole two platoon could fit in. One detonated to his left and collapsed a section of trench while also obliterating a squad of Royal soldiers. A soldier peeked his head up and fire but was flung back as Imperial bullets hit him in the shoulder and neck. Arterial spray hit Sergeant Haldham on th eside of the face making him wince as the warm fluid ran down. The young man was dead before he hit the ground. He had lost two soldiers now in his squad and no wounded, the entire platoon had been reduced to two full squads and one mauled one.

The other platoons in the company faired little better and he didn't know of the company co's after the first shells had hit the command dug out to the rear. He lifted his head just above the trenches parapet and saw Imperial soldiers advancing, the first few trenches would be over-run and he could see a Leutinent waving his soldiers back. Until a bullet tore through him in a buff of red mist. A Medic tried to make his way to him but was stopped as gun fire ripped across the area. The Sergeant looked around him, the nearest Soldier was a Corporal named Bill who was taking potshots down at the beach a few meters away. Looking behind him he saw Battalion Artillery, 10 towed 155mm Artillery Guns firing as fast as possible at the Imperial soldiers on the beach. Looking back in Bills direction Northwards he saw the platoon machine gun teams laying down impressive covering fire for the retreating frontal trench troops. They where literally 500 meters away from the Imperials front ranks.

II Battalion HQ of the 49th Infantry Division.
1.5 Kilometres from the Frontline.

Major Allan Brooke studied the map of Theta beach closely with a magnifyin gglass as continous reports down to squad level came in. The Imperials had landed and were pressing the forward possesions hard with Naval bombardment reaching into rear areas as well. One report from a Company Captain stated,"Enemy forces advancing despite solid opposition, frontal trenches will be over-run, pulling back."

He knew his Battalion would probably fail to hold the beach against an assault of this size without proper reinforcements or firepower. He had 1,300 soldiers...well probably less now as recent casualty estimates placed 194 KIA, MIA or WIA. A Private walked up to him,"Message from Leutinent General Postham Sir."

The message detailed his opportunity to withdraw to the woodland some kilometres back. It would allow his numerically inferior Battalion to form a better defence but a hasty retreat could cause a full route should the Imperials be hot on his heels.

"Signal Company commanders that if their positions are untenable they should retreat in successive formation to rear positions. Order our Artillery Battery to focus on fire support rather than strictly firing at the enemy. Private can we get air support?" said Major Brooke.

"Two fighter squadrons are engaging Luftwaffe fighters already. I will put in an order for a light bombing run to RAF HQ in Fordas. It should be available as no other Army formation is under attack." replied the Private quickly and he went to radio the request. The RAF would hopefully be able to get a bombing run on the beach that should cause significant casualties.

Outside the Theta Beach's 11th AA Battalions detachment fired off a SAM missile at the Imperial fighters.

Fordas HQ

"We have request for a bombing run of the beach." said a Staff aide to Leutinent General Postham.
"Approved get a pair of AC-130s in the air immidiately." replied Postham. The 49th Regiment which was the core founding Regiment of the 49th Division was spread out over the Western coastline with four Battalions on the line. The other Regiments, the 149th and 249th were allocated to the North and South where the southern section met up with the 451st.
"Pull out the 249th's I Battalion located just next to the 451st right flank, move it to the back of the 49ths II Battalion to reform a defensive line." ordered Postham and an aide rushed off to carry out the orders.

Fordas Harbor

The Sechyvasian 4th Fleet steamed out to meet the Al Horeyan Navy at full muster and orbital sattelites gave them firing solutions for their SNM-112 Missiles. The Missiles were Ship to Ship missiles of 50KM range. A salvo of 20 shot into the sky towards the Al Horeyan Armed Vessels.

Skies over Theta Beach
The two Fighter squadrons opposing the Luftwaffe air forces broke formation as the enemy missiles shot towards them. Two fighters were lost in fiery explosions and several others fired counter measures. Three fighters managed to fire their side winder missiles, two each at the Imperials before taking evasive action. The Air War had officially begun.

Fordas Western Landing Zone

The fighting on the beaches was bloody and the soldiers of the 1st Marine Division took casualties not only from the 155mm Artillery guns pounding the beach but the enemy infantry companies defending the beach. Medics were constantly running about under fire or tending to the wounded or dying. But the Imperial advance had not been grounded on the beach and several squads had entered the first trench lines. Engaging in close range fire fights with retreating Sechyvasian soldiers, hurling grenades to try and clear the trenches of the enemy. Soldat Kelle jumped into a trench torn apart from gunfire and explosives. Another soldier filed in behind him and half crouched ran down the trench. Company snipers also began to set up in the captured trenches and began to target enemy positions.

"This is Oberleutnant Emilmann, we need Naval Fire Support on those Artillery positions!" yelled the Oberleutnant into the radio set carried by one of his command squad personnel. His Company had advanced a few hundred meters inland and was constantly gaining ground as other companies made progress doggedly. Behind him a second wave transport arrived and released its compliment, sending even more soldiers into the fray.

"This is Battleship Scharnhorst, we are targeting enemy positions, hold tight. Over." came the reply and the large calibre guns of the battleship moved on well maintained gears to acquire the artillery positions. They then in one solid boom of concussive forced fired their shells at the enemy artillery positions.

Skies over Theta Beach

The Imperial Fighters engaged the Sechyvasian RAF fighters in an intense dog fight over the beach and some miles inland. Firing missiles and machine guns in an acrobatic dance of death. One fighter pilot had to eject after getting strafed across the wings. The second Fighter squadron now roared in and began to engage, the Imperials had numbers and fire power. Hopefully they could begin to win aerial superiority.

Overview

Port of Athane
The Imperial reinforcements left the large harbor and began to make progress towards Fordas Island. They would be arriving in a days time and hopefully the Fordas campaign would be beginning in full swing. Feldmarschall Von Freyden the designated commander of Imperial Army Forces in theatre remarked that the build up would be sufficient for an assault on Gregany.

Theta Beach. II Battalion of the 49th Infantry Regiment, 49th Infantry Division.

Sergeant Albert Haldham sprinted from cover to cover in the trench war springing up about him as Imperial Marines entered the forward trenches pressing inland. Grenades were thrown over the parapets on both sides or around corners, in dug outs and foxholes. Soldiers used blasted shell holes as spot cover when moving. Bullets ripped the sandy and soft soil in puffs of mini-brown clouds. Then the Imperial Battleships main battery had fired and hit somewhere behind him. He managed to turn and see the Artillery positions lighting up in explosions and flames. An ammunition storage had been hit and several guns were destroyed. Almost immidiately the company to his left broke under heavy fire and fell back in squads to another trench.
"Squad pull back!" yelled Haldham and 6 soldiers moved ahead of him falling back. All that remained of his squad of 12 before the fighting started, 50% casualties. He knew over the company radio that out of the standard 300 soldier force out of the 240 combat soldiers only 110 remained in action, and that was just his company.

II. Battalion HQ
1 Kilometres from the frontline

The Battalion had lost another half of a kilometre to the Empire and many of his combat companies were down to half or lower strength. The losses had mounted up and now he had lost all of his Artillery guns to the Naval barrage! The 11th AA had pulled back another half a km and he was organizing his HQ to move back to the wood line with orders for his combat companies to follow. He'd currently lost the beaches to the enemy.

Sechyvasian Defenses on to the Theta Beach was easily broken by the Imperial Armada, which with the support of it's Battleships, Air-Force and Marines, went on crushing the front lines set by the Land Forces of the Sechs. Sounds of Gun-Shells bursting, artillery roaring, bombs blasting and machine guns drilling, pierced the ears of the men that stood on the lines, defending with the hopes of returning home, after the war ends with a victory. Announcements :

To the Empire, please retreat your forces from the Sechyvasian waters and airspace and peruse for peace. Hand over the Queen to the Sechs as asked and also ask to decommission Herhan Forces. 5 R-36MUTTH ICBMs are in ready to launch positions. Unless you co-operate, the United Strategic Rocket Forces, will have to launch these nuclear missiles to your mainland, in order to cease the conflict. This is just a warning, please react.

Please use knowledge and common sense to note that ICBMs carrying Nuclear Warheads cannot be destroyed in air. I have also got no account of super carriers, which carry 150 aircrafts, which is totally out of this world neither do I discover B400 bombers in real. As a real world fact, any Aircraft carrier is weakly equipped against air raids, with all its airplanes launched into war. Big bombers cannot be launched from carriers. Imperials did not mention about the artillery carried and used by its marines nor about its enforcement of their ships, whose armament data does not exist any where. Also Trigat AA missiles are launched from helicopters, there is no hand held version !

Imperial Advance meets Sech Allies

Postby Imperialisium » Wed Oct 24, 2012 7:50 am

OOC:Bengal please organize your posts better. They are difficult to follow, thank you.

Theta Beach

The Bengali and Damodar intelligence must have been poorly done as they would have found to their severe disdain that Imperial forces had continued landing as the Sechyvasian Royal Army had been pushed back. The third wave was depositing its troops and Imperial Marine Artillery in the form of 15 155mm Guns were towed from the landing ships and began to be positioned. Targeting the Bengali forces while the Landing ships aimed their guns and .75 caliber machine guns to begin stitching any Bengali soldier with bullets. Further more the Begnali forces seemed to although have good artillery numbers lacked front-line combat infantry and with the Imperials advancing they would have to pull back or be assaulted by infantry which was an artillery mans worst nightmare beyond directly engaging armor.

The Eurocopter Tigers proved to be another annoyance to the Imperial timetables but the Marines were a fully equipped Division and each platoon had TRIGAT AA hand held missiles. A Pair of infantry man in every platoon that got a visual of the helis loosed one of the missiles at the enemy gunships. The Bengali and allied forces had rushed into the hornets nest on this one, they would be sorry to note.

Skies over Theta Beach and Sea

The 23 Eurofighter Typhoons engaged all aircraft that wasn't Imperial in the skies. Missiles fired and machine guns roared in a flurry of jet aircraft. While another squadron of Eurofighters took off from the Aircraft carrier SMS Lutzen to assist the 23 fighters while the Supercarrier* Graf Spee launched another flight of Eurofighters at the enemy bombers, firing their missiles at them. The Scharnhorsts and Graf Spees excellent AA defences and CIWS fired as well, the enemy bombers would be intercepted and destroyed and most likely destroyed even if they attempted to flee.

Admiral Kleve-Kafzstein had ordered a pair of B-400 Tactical Aircraft bombers took off from the Supercarrier after the scrambling fighter flight to bomb the Bengali forces while the Scharnhorst aimed its guns and fired off a barrage at Team A. It also fired a barrage of Taurus Sea to Land Missiles, 30 of which streaked towards the enemy.

Meanwhile the Imperial Navy was firing off its dozens of AA guns and AA cannons, CIWS and such at the enemy aircraft. Moving in evasive action and firing AA KEMPD missiles at all the aircraft. The targeting computers and crew working as fast as possible to target and fire. Then a napalm bomb hit the coast line but burnt out and was crossed easily by Imperial marines. No Imperial aircraft had been lost at the moment, but the fighting was picking up fiercely. The Imperial Destroyers and Firgates dropped depth charges and fired torpedoes while the U-Boats flanked and fired at the enemy subs. They be caught with torpedoes from two directions.

Bridge of SMS Graf Spee

"Sechyvasian Allies have entered the fight Herr Feldmarschall." said the Admiral

"Indeed, but they fight as if they do not know how to use their own military! they're using tactics that would lead to at most minimal losses to us and high losses for them!" replied the Feldmarschall von Freyden with a chuckle.

"What of the rest of our forces?" asked the Admiral

"Our reinforcements are halfway here and Geschwader 17 will be mobilizing the rest of its aircraft to gain aerial supremacy." replied Von Freyden.

Your threats are full of hubris and fool hardy. You lost this war before it started, it'd be best for you to seek a quick peace and sue for mercy before the boots of our soldiers crush you underfoot. Fire your missiles, we'll see if they make it a quarter of the way here, our Strategic command is already on alert.
