Recently, it came to my [corrupted] mind to invade a North African country like Morocco or Mauritania. But seeing how those countries are held very dear among those pesky Frenchmen, my honour refused to order the deployment of troops. Instead, I had a yet more devilish idea - to occupy the entire African landmass.
Ignoring my psychotic mind, I'm launching a war challenge to all nations in NS. However, this is no normal Attacker-Defender war wherein two huge coalitions ( normally the Communists and the Capitalists ) fight for whatever pointless reason led to the launching of several cruise missiles. Instead, it's a big race against the clock. The calender to be more precise. For the nations that agree to participate will unite to annihilate the biggest military powers of the African Union - Angola, Morocco ( not really part of the African Union ), South Africa, Algeria, Lybia, Zambia, Egypt, among others - with a 5 weeks ( 5 months in-game ) deadline before the Western military succeeds in mobilizing and deploying a strong enough force to retake Africa. In end of those 5 weeks the simulation ends. Or... does it?
For those who didn't bother reading it all, here's a small synthesis:
- All nations form a coalition to take on major countries in the African Union and dig their way through the heart of Africa;
- There's a 5 weeks ( 5 months in-game ) deadline to the end of the RP;
- In end of those 3 weeks, the simulation shall stop, unless otherwise decided;
Now for a second synthesis of other things that you should note about this roleplay proposal:
- No absurdly big armies prone to overloading your logistics - Yes, Africa is a big continent, but the maximum army one may send, if you are a really large country, is at best 2 million soldiers within a total period of two-three months. Or if you are absurdly large in population, I guess 10 million wouldn't be too hard to get. But the deployment and logistics might be a big, really, really big problem for you. Feeding and supplying a big army abroad is a hard task.
- Capture railways, airports, ports, agricultural areas - Conquer these pesky bastards asap! By controlling them, you both handicap your enemies and give yourself better logistic transportation.
- Avoid urban warfare - if you have already seen the guides to warfare, you know urban zones equal danger in military strategy. Thankfully, Africa is not renowned for its big metropolis and the barren areas are easy to handle as long as your armour is in good shape.
- Have fun! - this isn't meant to be too militarily accurate; some things are to be followed, but apart from that, it's Africa! Conquer it the way you like. But please, do not get too distant from your allies. You're in it together.
- Post scriptum - once the simulation ends, it will be like it never happen. It's a fire-and-forget roleplay.
