I'm pretty sure ADS systems can counter any type of ATGM. Just because it's a vertical attack doesn't matter. And even if no real life systems did that, it's not like developing an ADS capable of defeating top attack missiles is impossible.

That's the point, the top part is the most vulnerable of a tank -ADS or not. Most active protection systems had the issue of "OMG I CAN'T AIM STRAIGHT UP", which is why the Javelin is so deadly. Not even something like the Trophy system(which IIRC can stop ATGMs) can effectively engage diving munitions.

If that's a picture of Google Maps, we can assume that NESW is in the same format as in actuality. Example being the top is north.
I'm assuming our objective is merely those complexes. Looks kinda small, really, but I don't know the scale.
We will need of course to know where the defences are and where the invasion is going to start from.

If, say, a SAM site locks on to an aircraft, is that aircraft 'dead'? If so, what occurs if it is in the process of dropping troops? As in, I can't relay the 'you're fucking dead' message before you finish dropping your troops, despite most of them being dead in a realistic scenario.
Obviously, we need to establish bloody instant comms there.

Most of the city is apartment blocks and factories, sooo....erm...

Indeed.
I suggest CHEESE.
Or not.
I suppose a SAM lock-on means 'dead'. How about we have some representatives/military guys from each participating nation in some luxurious command bunker overseeing crap and relaying 'Your dead, private.' to their respective troops. Or something.Xanixi wrote:If it's shot by a missile, I'm assuming that whatever position gets hit by paint, and some of the interior parts, gets 'blown'. How that helps you, I'm not sure. That sounds about right. Maybe.

I figure we just use different *colours of paint to represent different munitions.

Shark allegedly has 360 degrees around 90 degrees up coverage. And yes, the top has the weakest armor: That's why you put reactive armor up there. Also, IR smoke will prevent the javelin from locking on to the tank, so you could just do that instead.

"Roof side fire" =/= 90 degree attack.
And my missiles aren't Javelins, they are capable of diving attacks.

Don't know where you're seeing "roof side fire" anywhere, but I believe "hemispherical protection" does imply that.
Different types of RPGs and ATGMs were launched at various spots like the sides or the roof from close range (15 metres (49 ft), including mulit-hit attacks, in which multiple threats were used in a short period of time

The sensors are hemispherical, not necessarily the APS itself.
