What kind of terrain can be expected on the Cardwiths? I was under the assumption that West Cardwith, my island at least, is relatively flat and clear grasslands with forests, perhaps similar in nature to the American Southern Midwest?

onar and observation posts began to report enemy ships closing in on the island, yet another attack on the Isotopians that night. But Fort Mason was their house, they weren't letting a bunch of damn monarchists in without a bloodbath. So UAV's were met with fast attack interceptors and aircraft were scrambled to meet the enemy ships and aircraft. As the missiles rained down, the Isotopians naval response was at the same magnitude. Frigates and destroyers launched anti ship missiles in response, and the Isotopian cruise missile sub., NIS Leninoistika fired missiles in response. The Isotopian flagship, the Kirov Class Battle cruiser NIS Vauxhall unleashed her massive payload of anti ship and cruise missiles towards the enemy.
Naval Infantry, Spec Ops, and the revolutionaries present took cover from the rain of missiles and armored forces mobilized for the expected ground forces landing. Anti ship missile launchers, that hadn't been hit by the enemy fired, their main target was the carrier. Artillery weapons, from Self Propelled guns to MLRS, began firing out to the sea, their unguided missiles would be harder to hit than regular anti ship missiles. As enemy helicopters began to advance towards the shore, a barrage of SAM's and AA guns hit them like the way a steel garter would hit car.

Suddenly you have a Kirov class battlecruiser, a cruise missile submarine, frigates and destroyers? SPG`s/MLRs interceptors, and other aircrafts INCLUDING your thousands of troops? may i note a Kirov only carries 20 Granit missiles which are anti-ship missiles, it does not carry any cruise missiles of any sort or type.
You got SAM`s as well and AA.
For me this seems to be rather out of league regarding a proxy war and seems more then 4-5k, by /far/ if you include LOGISTICS and sailors, pardon me while i bring in battle-cruisers and masses of submarines and other assets.
