I was just thinking there isn't much that I've done IC to cross the cong, and I'm willing to bet that Grossrheinland Reich doesn't kow the first thing about Bokaya, so there isn't much I could have done to annoy him... so any hostility he feels must be OOC, in which case it's both immature and against forum rules to bring his gripe into IC.

It's srsly hard to get into Cong unless at least half the members like you enough to vote for you, and while Azura might be a very nice man (I would insert a *glares* if I were acting my age, but as it is italics do fine enough a job) I doubt that the rest would concur on your entry. (inb4 'u no get to speak for cong ur not even in cong' amirite)

tl;dr: umad, I don't have any beef wit'choo. Also actually there's nothing in the forum's rules about bringing gripe into RP, other than it being bad form. Each and every member of ODECON and Cong hated each other to the bone until about the point everyone just ignored each other, for example.

This is precisely what many don't understand. The actual app is, to quite a large extent, irrelevant to whether you get in. The Conglomerate is a closely-knitted association of nations, with OOC relations bordering on bromance. People who are ICly hated will be voted in by the very same nations, often, that bear that hatred, because the Conglomerate is inexplainable in fully IC terms. Months are generally spent building up good relations (or toleration).

tl;dr: Most alliances are Adultfriendfinder.com. The Conglomerate is two days of being a voyeur, two months (or perhaps ten) of courtship and a single moment of lust and passion (and then you both say 'let's just be friends with benefits' afterwards).

I've been considering leaving the Cong on an IC basis that my nation dislikes choosing sides, but I never really got around to it.

Dude, though I have a rep for voting aye for all (except Amit, because it amused me to do so), I've worked with you for a long time now, and consider you a class act and a classy RPer. Your skills are excellent, and you would be a major-league pick up for the Conglomerate in my opinion. We'd be pretty crazy not to vote you in, and I don't give out that level of compliment often. Anyway, first few days of break have been busy with stuff but hopefully I can divert some more time here...gotta get to my FT threads but Azura, I'll get to your mafia/gangland thread as well when I can generate an idea and a little block of writing time here for that.

As to the Steel Pact guys looking to make apps and such...as a heads-up, we don't really vote with much spread based on something simply IC like if you're in the Pact or whatnot. We vote much of the time based on personal views or perceptive insight - ie, Love Dog over there just votes "no" for everyone, while Azura votes with much more empathy.

Bottom line, learn to understand who we are at more than an IC level. That's the best advice I can give to any of y'all lookin' to get in.

In honor of the Carthage Bulldogs and Henderson Lions, I have modified a person made by using HM3. Both teams are in 3A, one in Division I and the other in Division II. As of tonight, both have become the state champs. The Lions winning their first one and the Bulldogs winning their third championship in a row.
