NATO HQ
*Just as they where about to say goodbye, a soldier came up to Kowalski and whispered in his ear. Kowalski's face went white.*
Kowalski: "Sir, I have just been informed that Vergenskia has declared war on Russia."

Moscow, Russia
*Harkov watched the speech.*
Harkov: "excellent." *He looked around the room.* "You! Tell General Makarov to prepare for war!"
*The man he yelled at saluted him and ran off.*

Southern Slovakia
*The General talked into his phone.*
General: "Alright, everyone is in position to strike. Vermaak you're up."
Vermaak: "With pleasure." *He looked down the scope of his rifle. He then fired it. The bullet struck a guard. He shot another and another. Then the assault commenced. Slovak rebels raced into the village and began the assault."
General: "Very good my friends! Now, lets join the fight shall we?"
*The group got up and made their way to the village to help the attack.*

Imperial Palace

An aide entered the Emperor's study and saluted.

"Your Imperial Majesty, Hungary has declared war on Russia."

NATO HQ

Von Kurtz nodded slowly.

Buda Castle, Budapest, Hungary. September 8th, 2059.

"I am Carolus Victorus, Apostolic Emperor of Hungary, Slovakia, Dalmatia, Croatia, Slavonia, Rama, Transylvania, Romania, Serbia, Lodomeria, Cumania, Bulgaria, Moldavia, Slovenia, Greece, Macedonia, Albania, Archduke of Austria, King of Bohemia, Moravia, Tirol, Ruthenia and Silesia. And I shall see your nation burn!" The recording ends, but Carolus continues to stare intently at the lens.

Carolus slams his fist into the table as the recording stops. "Race to Moscow. NOW!" He screams at Kereshtur, who was in the room for the recording. He salutes and speeds away.

He then turns to Mezey, "Round them up. All of them. Burn them. Make sure they do not impede on my goals."

War Room, Buda Castle

Commander Kereshtur arrives and tells them to initiate the attack. Ukraine still being a vassal, the military access through the country was easily attained. The armor and airforce begins their move and the infantry soon after.

Imperial Palace

The Emperor gave no indication of even hearing the aide. He simply lifted himself from his chair, and going over to the bookcase, picked up a rather lengthy tome. The aide continued to stand in the doorway as Lucius read for a while. Eventually, what seemed like an eternity, he looked up.

"Inform His Eminence the Minister of News that there is to be no official statement by the Imperial Government regarding the conflict between the Empire of Hungary and the Russian Federation. You are dismissed."

Russian-Ukrainian border
*The Russian soldiers waited for the enemy. They would be coming any time now. However, the mood in the camp was grim. The soldiers where terrified. They knew that war with Hungary was certain death. General Nikita Makarov sat in his camp, studying a map of the battlefield. He sighed, the battle was hopeless, he had no idea why Harkov got them involved in a war.*

Ukraine
*the people of Ukraine watched as the Hungarians marched through their land. They hated it. The Hungarians had been persecuting Slavs for a while now and the people of Ukraine knew it. There had been talks going around the country of rebellion, of joining the Russians...something no Ukrainian had thought of doing for a long time.*

Russian-Ukrainian Border. September 8th, 2059

The sound was deafening. Jets screamed over the border as thousands of armor and infantry units spilled into Russia. Craters were already dotting the lines and the sounds of chainguns from overhead rip through the already shaken air. The ten-thousand man defense force put on the border was to be shredded. Kereshtur has given the orders not to take prisoners. Kill every Russian soldier. No matter what.

Buda Castle, Records Room. Budapest. September 8th, 2059.

An old scholar employed by Carolus' father rummages through very old scripts and scrolls in the basement of the Imperial Castle. While looking through the Mészáros Tree, which he already knew converged into the House of Árpád, he notices another conversion with another Great House. The old man is astonished. He races up from the depth of the Castle to meet with the Emperor.

Makarov: *He looked at the invading forces.* "Time to see if the West really is that good." *He talked into a radio* "Send in the Storms."
*Soon after NATO's mech's, the Storms, entered the battlefield. They began to attack the Hungarians. Though not as strong as Britanania's mechs, the Storms where still strong enough to at least balance the ground game.*

Prussia
*The air force was scrambled. NATO jets where taking off. The order was given from Brussels to use air force against the Hungarians in Russia. Prussia was one of the closest nations to the battle so they where able to get ready the fastest. Soon the jets where in the air and began to race towards the fight.*

Russian-Ukrainian Border. September 8th, 2059.

One after another, the front line APCs are blown to pieces. From one on the front comes a feverish message, "Sir, they have mechs! We need to call in the Maulers!"

General Kereshtur personally receives the message and turns to the secretary of the Air Force. "Send them in." And from bases in Moldova, heavily modified A-11 Thunderbolt jets launch to engage. With heavy Fighter escorts, they race to continue the offensive and avoid a stalemate.

Buda Castle, Budapest, Hungary. September 8th, 2059

The old man bursts into the War Room and screams for Carolus.

"What is it, old man?" The Emperor asks, rudely. "The war has begun, I have little time and you are wasting it!"

"I promise you, Emperor, this will be no waste of time." The old man retorts and lays the records down on the table. "See, I have traced back your family line. And its gone north."

"North...?" The Emperor pauses...

Tarkin looks up from his notes and raises an eyebrow. As he is the Imperial Government's Ambassador to Hungary, he also served as a military liaison, and had been permitted into the war room. So far, the Hungarians were making good headway into Russia-he would be able to report back Moscow would fall in less than a week, as two Hungarian Armies had crossed the border, and another five on the way.

*The NATO Air Force arrived soon after the deployment of the Storms. They began to engage the Hungarian fighters. Meanwhile the Storms proved to be quite useless against the Hungarian bombs. On ground they did alright, but unless NATO could do something about the air force, the Storms where not going to do much.*

The Maulers tear through the mechs with their 30mm chainguns and in a few places, armor can continue to push forward on the ground.

There's a radio transmission to the War Room, again. "These jets out here... They have an Iron Cross on them."

Buda Castle, Budapest, Hungary. September 8th, 2059.

"How north?" Continues the Emperor.

"Sweden to be exact." The old man answers.

"What does my family have to do with Sweden?"

Now Tarkin was very interested. Sweden was neutral, and if the Emperor had a connection there, it could mean another ally in the Hungarian Alliance.

*Makarov watches the fight going on around him. He saw the NATO forces coming in to support. He turned to his second in command.*
Makarov: "Prepare yourself for Order 75."

Makarov: "Are you questioning President Harkov? Just get ready for it. We won't do it now."
General: "Yes sir."

General: "Don't shoot him! He's who I want."
*He went up to the man.*
General: "Hello Major Rybar."
Rybar: "Hello Comrade. Thank you."
Jay: "Major Rybar. Major of the Slovak army and NATO's lead intelligence officer in Eastern Europe. Good to see you made it through the invasion."
Rybar: "Barely Comrade." *He pointed to his right eye, which had a patch over it.* "Now come on, we should get out of here."

Buda Castle, War Room

The message from the jet pilot went unheard for now. Everyone was interested in what the old man had to say.

"Your family was very important. They married into the royal family. The House of Holstein-Gottorp."

"So.. What does that have to do with anything?" The Emperor responded.

"That you are Swedish and that you have an excellent claim on the throne of Sweden."

A large smile spread on the face of Carolus Victorus.

Buda Castle. Library. September 8th, 2059.

Following the war meeting, Prince Tarkin made his way over to the impressive Library of Buda Castle. King Erno had been a lover of books, and accrued a vast collection. It may not have been as vast as Emperor Napoleon's collection, but it served the Royal Family well.

Tarkin had picked up a tome on the history of modern warfare when he noticed a young woman had walked in.
