*Attending the ceremony was the Prime Ministers of Sweden and Finland, the de facto rulers of their countries at the moment which have become increasingly police states. Also attending was a Russian delegation.*

Buda Castle, Budapest. 1 December, 2058.
*Vermaak made his way to the roof of the castle. When he got to the roof he saw two Vergenskian guards. They where snipers. One came up to Vermaak.*
Sniper: "You there! Show me some identification!"
Vermaak: "Alright." *He pulled out his identification that the Guard had given him.*
Sniper: *He looked over the papers.* "Ah yes, I've been expecting you. Hold this." *He handed Vermaak the Sniper rifle. He then pulled out his pistol, attached the silencer, and then shot the other sniper in the back of the head.* "Quick, follow me. You don't have much time. Luka's distraction will keep them busy for a couple of minutes."
*The sniper lead Vermaak over to what appeared to be a large crate. He opened the crate and Vermaak couldn't believe his eyes.*
Sniper: "You'r government is very good with technology. Put the helmet on and then strap in."
*Vermaak complied and put the suit and helmet on.*
Sniper: "Good." *He looked at his watch* "Luka will begin his distraction now. You ready for this?"
Vermaak: "Of course."
Sniper: "Good. Niko's van is down on the street below. You'll notice that it has a red stripe on it. Also, the suit is waterproof...just so you know. Good luck Icarus 1."
*Just then they heard gun fire from inside the castle.*

The Royal March begins to play and the Archbishop of Budapest appears by the Throne. The massive doors of Hofburg open wide. But the Archbishop did not hold the Crown of St. Stephen.. But the Crown Jewels of the last Empire that ruled here. The Imperial Crown of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Buda Castle, Budapest. 1 December, 2058.

Colonel Mezey, Head of the Royal Guard, comes up behind the duo. "And where are we going this fine evening? The ones we are looking for are inside." He grabs both of them by the shoulders and spins them around. The large man looks at both of them. "Who is this guy? I have never met him." He pulls a large caliber pistol from his holster. "Private Hajdu... You're not a sniper. Why would you betray your King this way?" He says and puts the gun up to his heart. "Guards! Secure the King's Prisoner!" The guards by the door of the roof, the snipers and those at the bottom of the stairs move in, rifles raised.

The Emperor's eyes grew large as he saw the crown.

"That maniac, is that what I think it is?"

*The Russian Ambassador looks disguested at this. A group of Austrians in the building growl in anger. The leaders of Finland and Sweden meanwhile just smirk.*

Buda Castle, Budapest. 1 December, 2058.
Sniper: "Don't worry my friend, We prepared for this. Ватра!"
*suddenly sniper fire broke out. It came from other buildings around them. One of the bullets struck the man holding Vermaak and the Sniper. The Sniper shot at the other men with his sidearm.*
Sniper: "Go Vermaak! Just jump!"
Vermaak: *He complied and as the Sniper and the other snipers distracted the Vergenskian guards. He ran across the roof of the building and then, he jumped. After a few seconds the wings on his suit activated. He was now gliding. Unfortunately for Vermaak, there where Vergenskian guards on the ground firing up at him. He attempted to dodge but he got hit a few times, mostly in the wings, but one of the bullets struck his shoulder. He began to fall, into the river below.*

Deville analyses the situation with all the care a Grand Vizier could and discreetly pulls his phone out. He sends a simple text message to General Bergmann.

 Bergmann.  It's Deville.  This mockery of NATO has gone far enough.  A little public demonstration should be good for everyone.

Vienna, Austria, Vergenskia. 4 December, 2058.

The king walks forward, slowly. Traditional garments dragging just behind. The national anthem play by a live orchestra as he walks to the Archbishop. Károly smirks, coldly as he passes the groaning leaders.

Buda Castle, Budapest. 1 December, 2058.

The prisoner vaults over the roof and into the river, bleeding. "He won't last the cold. Hypothermia will set in in minutes. And that clothing isn't meant to be watertight." Colonel Mezey then proceeds to execute every one of those who shot at him.

Vienna, Austria, Vergenskia. 4 December, 2058.
*Again, the leaders of Sweden and Finland appear to be the only one enjoying this. Meanwhile, outside the building, General Bergmaan is standing outside, behind him are many Austrian citizens and former members of the Austrian army. Bergmaan pulls out a megaphone and starts yelling in German. The crowd joins him in chanting. After their chant, the crowd picks up rocks and begin to throw them at the building.*

Budapest. 1 December, 2058.
*Vermaak began to sink. The water was freezing cold in the night. He could see his blood spreading throughout the water. The wings that had helped him before where now going to be his downfall. He struggled for a little bit until he realized it was pointless. He accepted his fate and began to sink down. Just as he was closing his eyes, he saw the outline of a boat above him, then he saw someone dive into the water in a scuba suit. The man came up to Vermaak and took the wing suit off of him. He then dragged Vermaak to the surface. Once on the surface, Vermaak was pulled into the boat by another man. The last thing Vermaak saw before falling unconscious was the outlines of several men around him, and the boat beginning to move away.*

The Emperor and the Ministers are disgusted by this. The Emperor knows exactly what is going on

The King approaches the Archbishop and bows to him. "Isten áldjon meg, érsek." He says as he bows. "Isten áldjon, gyermekem." The Archbishop replies.

Károly kneels before the man and prays, quickly, as he waits for his crown.

*Just before the Archbishop puts the crown on Karoly, shots ring out. From outside, Bergmann and his crowd have begun firing at the building.*

Somewhere in Vergenskia, 2 December, 2058
*Vermaak woke up. He was in the woods, sitting next to a fire. Next to the fire was a man who noticed he was awake. The man smiled and began to speak. He sounded Russian.*
Man: "Ah good, you're alive. Ryan will be pleased."
Vermaak: "Huh? Who are you?"
Man: "My name is Mikhail Suzdalnitskya. Ryan's already told me your name is Robert Vermaak."
Vermaak: "Ryan? Ryan who?"
Jackson: "Ryan Jackson. Former CIA operative, participating in WWIV and the Black Knights affair. Friend of South African national Robert Vermaak."
Vermaak: "Ryan? Ryan!" *He gets up and hugs Jackson.*
Jackson: "Good to see you too."
Mikhail: *he laughs*

The Imperials heard the shots. Deville smiled softly.

"Az Isten nevében, öld meg őket!" Károly screams as he hears the shots from outside.

Men stream from APCs, strategically hidden around the castle. They all hold up their rifles and wait for another shot to be fired from the crowd.

*The crowd continues to fire at the castle. Soon after they begin charging at the castle, one is holding the Austrian Flag in his hand.*

Somewhere in Vergenskia, 2 December, 2058
Vermaak: "What are you doing here Jackson?"
Jackson: "Well, FEA has decided that I am a danger to them and so they sent an agent to kill me. However, I was saved by British special agents and taken to Sweden where we thought we would be safe. There we found Mikhail, an ex-Russian special agent betrayed by his government. It was there we also learned that you had been captured. So, Mikhail called his contacts in the Serbian rebels and we where able to save you."
Vermaak: "Damn."
Jackson: *He pointed to two other men* "This man here is Jason Kane, a FEA agent who has joined us and this is Jay, a British special agent.*
Jay: "Hello Mr. Vermaak, pleasure to meet you."

The guests in the Castle began to panic. More gunshots could be heard

The soldiers open fire on the crowd. They are sliced to pieces and turned to cheese. It was so loud... Then quiet... A soldier grabs the Austrian flag... And burns it.

"Érsek. The time is now." The King humbly says.

*General Bergmann lay in a pool of his blood, while the blood of the other rebels began to mix with his. He was still alive, barely. With his dying words he pulled a device from his pocket.*
Bergmann: "Brennen in der Hölle faschistischen Abschaum."
*he pushed a button on the device, causing a bomb to explode in the street outside the castle.*

Somewhere in Vergenskia, 2 December, 2058
Vermaak: "So, what is the plan?"
Jackson: *he pulled out a map.* "We are here, in the forest around the Vergenskian-Slovak border. We want to get here." *He pointed to Prague.*
Vermaak: "Prague?"
Jackson: "Yep. The city is completely under Vergenskian control and possibly one of the most fortified city in the world. However, we have a friend there. A Yemeni named Bashir. He is a NATO worker, however, he also works for the UNE."
Jay: "Right. The Vergenskians, as savage as they are, will not kill a UNE worker or detain him. We will use him to smuggle us into Germany. After that we will get to the UK and drop me off while you four go to neutral Ireland where you will be safe."
Vermaak: "Well that's a good plan...but how do we get to Prague?"
Mikhail: *He put out the fire* "Easy. We walk."

[Britanania]

Vienna, Austria, Vergenskia. 4 December, 2058.

The explosion could be heard inside the castle, causing everyone to begin to panic

"My people. My friends. Do not panic." The Archbishop walks behind the King and places the Crown on his head. "I am Carolus Victorus, Emperor of Hungary. My power is universal here." The newly crowned Emperor proclaims.

The Emperor and his Entourage promptly exit the Palace, going the back way to avoid the incident outside of the Palace. There, they find the Imperial Jet waiting to take them back to Nevermore.

*The leaders of Finland and Sweden began clapping for the new Emperor, they where both hoping that soon they would be able to speak with the Emperor. The Russian Ambassador just sat there and watched.*

Somewhere in Vergenskia, 2 December, 2058
Vermaak: "One does not simply walk into Prague."
Mikhail: "Well, it's all we've got right now. If we are able to get into Slovakia, I'm sure the Slovak Resistance will be more then willing to help us."
Jay: "Right. Now lets get out of these woods."
*and with that, the group began walking.*

The Emperor looks around, most of the guests are making their escapes from the blast, and he understood that. But two stood and applauded. Károly pointed two the men and waved them over to him. He backed to the throne and sat as he waited for them.

Hungarian Airspace

The Emperor was silent as the jet took off for Nevermore. Conversely, the Ministers debated the issue of whether or not they should recognise the new Hungarian Empire. Lucius himself entered the cabin, and was brought to speed in the debate.

"We shall continue the same policies as before the boy's ascension to an Imperial Title. In plainer tongue, yes, we recognise the Hungarian Empire as the legal ruling body of the Vergenskian conquest."

*the leaders of Finland and Sweden walk up to the new Emperor.*
Prime Minister of Sweden: "Hello Emperor. We would first like to congratulate you on becoming Emperor of a great land. However, we have some questions."
Prime Minister of Finland: "Yes, you see, me and my friend here are becoming increasingly afraid of NATO and Russia."
Prime Minister of Sweden: "Yes, we believe they might be threatening the national soverignty of our two nations and we would like to know if you would be interested in a formal alliance between our three nations in the event of further warfare."

Somewhere in Vergenskia, 2 December, 2058
*After several hours of walking the group came to the former Slovak-Vergar border. It was an unguarded part of the border so they where able to slip in quietly.*
Mikhail: "Alright, there should be a small town not far from here in which we should get support from the locals once we explain ourselves."

Vienna, Austria, Hungarian Empire. 4 December, 2058

"It is certainly an interesting proposition, Prime Ministers. Seeing how superior your soldiers have been in the past and currently with you, Swede, it would be a win-win with our respective resources and for you, Finn. Your soldiers have withstood the onslaught of the mightiest army on the planet, over a century ago. And I believe you still have it. With your rich iron and nickel mines in Lappland, and my mines of Bauxite in Pannonia, we could have a close friendship. I will agree, Comrades. Meet me in Budapest in a few days. The formal alliance will be drawn up and ready to sign by then."

September 2059

In the nine months since the creation of the Hungarian Empire, the balance of power in Europe shifted eastward. In January of the new year, the formal alliance between Finland, Sweden, and Hungary became public. This new Iron Triumvirate became increasingly militant, as Sweden and Finland were transformed into de facto Fascist dictatorships. In Early February, a large scale Slavic revolt began in the Empire, and was quickly expunged, while smaller Polish and Austrian riots and strikes began, also stamped out.

In Germany and Turkey, a large scale NATO army were amassing to defend against a possible Hungarian invasion, as tensions between NATO and Emperor Carolus Victorus reach an all time low. Rumours of a large Russian buildup have circulated across the globe.

Perhaps surprisingly, the Imperial Republic of America has stayed out of the crisis, and no major Imperial Statesmen have made statements on the situation in Europe. Rather, the focus has been on domestic issues, especially after the birth of the Emperor's first son in July. He was christened His Imperial Majesty, Alexander, the Prince Napoleon

Now in early September, it appears as the world is on the brink of another major war.
