Kabul, Afghanistan, Dominion of India. 15 February 2090

The National Guard were ordered to effectively shut Kabul down. A strict curfew was put in place and any resistors would be killed on the spot. So far, the Imperial Army made no moves in support of Awrang Karzai, but nor did they denounce him. The Imperium would simply watch and wait.

Kabul, Afghanistan, Dominion of India. 15 February 2090
*Babayev slipped into the building in Kabul. He met with some men and handed them the video. They then showed him to his room. The Afghans reviewed the video and then uploaded it onto an older computer. Within a few hours, the video of the massacre began to circulate throughout the internet.*

Pact of Steel reaction

In many places in the Pact, the video of the massacre was either censored or altered to make it appear that the rioters had fired. The governments, of course, referred to the rioters as "jihadist extremists" bent on creating a nation of radical Islam Nationalism. Not a total lie, as many of the protestors did in fact want an Afghan Religious state. The Empire especially portrayed them as Taliban sympathisers, wishing to take away the precious quality of life and rights granted by the Empire

Afghanistan
*The uncensored version of the video had circulated around Afghanistan. While many did fear a return of the Taliban and a return of violence, many others were now infuriated with the Empire...especially when it began denying that it shot first. Soon, protests throughout the country started for the withdraw of the Imperials from Afghanistan and a return to independence.*

Afghanistan

The Imperium sent Azes Gupta to command the 22nd, 23rd, and 230th Armoured to restore order in Afghanistan. He was also given command of close to 20,000 ACU. Command of the National Guard was also stripped from Karzai and put into Gupta's hands. The Indian General opened his invasion with coordinated missile strikes at key rebel bases before committing his ground troops 48 hours later.

Afghanistan
*The Afghan rebels began waging a guerrilla campaign against the Imperials. The Afghans used Eurasian weapons against the Imperials. The Eurasians however officially denounced their involvement in the country, they said that the weapons had been smuggled into the country illegally. The rebels hide out in the countryside, occasionally attacking major cities.*

Afghanistan

The Imperial forces were able to quickly capture the major cities, where most of the support for the Empire is. Some fighting in Kabul ended when the ACU massacred most of the rebel forces. The majority of the rebels were in the central mountains and the southern regions, prompting Gupta to launch missile strikes and small scale raids into those regions.

Using recon, he also resorted to using nerve gas and other chemical weapons.

Budapest, Hungary. 2090

The aging queen takes stand high atop Budapest, broadcasting the message worldwide.

"Magyarok, Horvátok, Szerbek, Szlovákok egy Németek a régi birodalom. Ez az az idő, hogy visszatérjen. Nem csak te. A föld a saját vissza kell térnie. Emelkedik a fegyvert az elnyomók ellen felettetek. Vissza az anya tartozik. A királyság lesz a megmentő. Már nem kell, hogy legyen számokat. Visszatérés, az én népem. Vissza anyádhoz. Együtt kell egyesíteni az egykor nagy királyság. És küzdelem a gonosz kommunisták, csiszolás, hogy semmibe. Magyarország visszatér!" She raises her hand in a roman salute. "Magyar nép, nő!" She shouts, before returning to the Bastion of the Empire.

Eastern Europe. 2090

After the speech, the streets of major cities of the Former Hungarian Empire, such as Zagreb, Kosice, Split, Dubrovnik, and many other erupt into protest, peaceful and otherwise, demanding the return to Hungary and the fall of the Communist governments. North Yugoslavia seemed to have gone up in flames, with the number of Croatian and Slovene revolts as well as the densely Hungarian-populated areas of Czechoslovakia have demanded their return to the Empire.

All the while, Queen Felicia sits back and watches, then looks up, "Thank you, father. For your strength."

Kabul, Afghanistan

General Gutpa sat in his mobile military compound, reading over the recon reports. It was evident that the revolutionaries had outside assistance, likely from the EF, but he had nothing definitive to actually indicate them, and as things were, the Imperium had effectively left him there. Other than the few armies he had been given and the Afghan National Guard, he was on his own, expected to put the largest revolt in Imperial history, or suffer terrible consequences.

He sighed at his deplorable position. Afghanistan was a hellhole, and despite the Imperial presence, the most undeveloped part of the Empire. As acting Governor, he issued statements calling the revolutionaries not only radical jihadists, but Communists bent on the total dismantling of Afghan life.

Moscow, Eurasia
*After watching the Queen's speech and seeing the reaction from Hungarian nationals in Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia, Makarov decided it was time to act. Hungary had overstepped it's limits and was threatening to destroy his closest allies. He then got up to his podium and sent out a message to the world.*
Makarov: "Good day Comrades around the world. 32 years ago, the most destructive conflict in human history started. A series of wars that destroyed an entire continent and killed millions out of hatred. This war cost the lives of millions of men, women, and children. After years of fighting, the victorious allies stood as the victors. Our flags flew over the capital of evil and a madman was sent to hell. Now, our continent is facing another threat from the same people who tried to kill us all 32 years ago. Hungary is trying to suggest that our friends in Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia wish to return to the country who performed the worst genocide ever against them. This has made us in Eurasia fearful. Eurasia and Eastern Europe suffered greatly in the last war and we wish for that kind of suffering to never happen again. For this reason, myself and other leaders in Eastern Europe have come to this conclusion. The countries of Poland, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, Albania, Bulgaria, Armenia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, and Eurasia declare war upon the Kingdom of Hungary, and the Kingdom of Romania-Moldova. We are doing this to protect the world from genocide and destruction again. We wish to tell the other members of the Pact of Steel that this is not a declartion of war against the rest of the organization and that we only wish to protect you too. We fear that if we allow Hungary to expand even an inch, they will take all of Eastern Europe, and then Germany, and then France, and then the UK. We urge the Pact of Steel members to not retaliate and possibly help us as we take on the single greatest threat to our world. I am saddened that it had to come to this, but to protect our world, we must destroy the Fascist menace. Goodnight Comrades, soon, we will know a better world."

Eastern Europe
*Shortly after Makarov's message, the armies of the Eastern European countries began pouring into Hungary and Romania. Jets bombed major cities as the tanks burst through the country side. Eurasian, Yugoslav, and Czechoslovak forces invaded Hungary proper as Eurasian and Bulgarian forces attacked Romania. The Eurasian navy set sail from Crimea and headed straight for Romania.*

Nevermore

The Imperium made no move against the EF, or any statement. At present, they were focused on keeping order in the rest of the Empire and were too preoccupied with the war in Afghanistan.

Paris

The Parisian government issued a statement denouncing the EF for being too rash to war, but made no direct military move. However, the French did promise to loan several thousand older Mekhon for the Hungarians to use

Germany

The German military-just as powerful as the French Imperial Army-mobilised its forces to the borders in the event the war spilled over

Polish-German border
*The Poles made no indication that they were prepping for war with Germany. They hopped that by doing this, the Germans wouldn't consider them a threat and that no counter attack from Germany would come.*

Somewhere in a cave in Afghanistan
*An Afghan dressed man entered into the cave. Several Afghans came up to him and searched him. When they found no weapons on him, they allowed him into the cave. He made his way to the back of the cave and found himself face to face with the most wanted man in the world. It was the American who had helped Rojas and had been with Darzi during the Empire's mission in Iraq. The Afghan dressed man took off his headgear and revealed himself to be Babayev.*
Babayev: "Mr. Sandler, your reputation proceeds you. You are everywhere aren't you."
Sandler: "How many times do I have to tell you people? do not use my name!"
Babayev: "I'm sorry sir."
Sandler: "It's alright my friend. What did you find on your recon mission?"
Babayev: "I found out that the commanding officer of the Imperial forces is a Mister Azes Gupta. An Indian man, pretty high up in the Imperium."
Sandler: "He sounds important. An excellent target then. If he dies, then we will be left with Karzai who is completely incompetant. Let's kill him. Send a message."
Babayev: "Where is Rojas?"
Sandler: "Enjoying a nice vacation..."

General Gupta had decided to take a week off from the conflict and return to India. He had to report on the war to the Indian Viceroy and other official work as a member of the Imperium. He was staying at his palatial estate, and was in his office working.

New Delhi, Dominion of India
*Because of how large India had become, the sight of several Afghans in New Delhi was not uncommon. However, something was odd today. There appeared to be more Afghans then normal. They went around to the palatial estate in trucks and waited a few moments.*

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
*In Brazil, life had gotten terrible. Since the Imperial withdraw from Brazil, the quality of life had gotten worse and worse. The Rich became super rich and the Poor became very poor. There was almost no middle class now. In Rio this was very evident. Along the beeches were many rich people, enjoying life and their riches. In the rest of the city, there was poverty and terrible living conditions. For months now a Communist Insurgency had been going on in the country. The Communists mostly operated in secret and there was nothing large going on...until now. Tensions between the poor and rich had grown in Rio. Many of the poor were now joining the Communists. The police in Rio had been alerted to the possibility of a possible Communist strike, but they never expected a strike quite like what was about to happen. From a safe and secluded point, Manuel Rojas watched the city with his men by his side. He smiled as he looked at the city. It was a beautiful day he thought. A beautiful day, to change the world. He held up a detonator and looked at his men.*
Rojas: "Today, we change everything." *He pressed the button on the detonator.*
*There was a large explosion heard throughout the city. People looked around to see what had happened. Then, they saw it. A sight that horrified them. The Christ the Redeemer statue was falling. Its base had been destroyed. It fell to the Earth and shattered. After the statue's destruction, gunfire was heard coming from the poorer parts of the city as Communist insurgents began their attack on their enemies.*

They began fighting in the Poorer districts, fighting off rebels who were armed with older model weapons from all over the world.
