Eastern Front 2085

Most days the Front was stable, seeing little conflict, and the days that did see conflict only lasted a few minutes. Very rarely was there any fighting besides in Chicago. The Imperials were able to maintain about 500,000 men surrounding the city, constantly attacking in raids and other attacks. By now, the city was virtually destroyed, little more than rubble, but still the SFEA maintained their forces. Only when the city was demolished and the defenders killed would they advance

Charleston, SFEA
*In the time since O'Neil came to complete power, he had become paranoid. Everyone around him was out to destroy him he had thought. They were all Imperial sympathizers. He had purged the government of all officials except those completely loyal to him. Then he began to isolate himself from the rest of the world. He stayed in his room and drew up battle plans that could never happen. He had envisioned himself standing in a completely destroyed Nevermore, the flag of the SFEA flying behind him. As he isolated himself, he grew ill. He didn't want to see a doctor because he claimed they were working for the Imperials. This was the downfall of Sam O'Neil. O'Neil died sometime after he got sick. It was a pretty agonizing death, when others found him, he was laying on the ground, blood coming from his mouth. After O'Neil died, a new Politburo was established. The man who seemed to be in charge now was General Chris Bradly. When Bradly took power, he made calls for peace and sent message to the Empire that East America was ready to negotiate a peace treaty.*

Nevermore, early 2086

The Grand Vizier entered the Emperor's office after. Alexander's Office was left as it was in Lucius' time, but more Guards were posted, and were changed every hour with random Guards placed in.

"Your Imperial Majesty," Tarkin began, "we have received news that the SFEA is willing to negotiate an armistice." Tarkin had spent the last few months on the Front. Chicago had been obliterated, and the conditions were appalling. The SFEA was on the verge of total collapse. The Emperor looked up from his papers.

"Excellent. Have them send their envoy to Nevermore."

The Emperor began.

"Here are our terms; Montana and Minnesota will remain occupied by the Imperial Republic of America, with Nick Corrigan serving as the Governor of both States and will retain his title of Grand Duke of Montana. The Imperial Army will leave the rest of your territory and a 25 km De-militarised Zone will be established on our border. Budapest, Hungary

"Commander, come in here." Felicia calls out from her office. Soon followed by Commander László Eszterhazy and from outside the door, Prince Ernö eavesdropped on his mother's business.

"László. I need you to go to Baden-Baden and get someone for me... Someone of incredible importance to the Kingdom. Can you do that for me?" Felicia says, quietly.

Commander Eszterhazy nods his head and asks, "Whom?"

"One Dr. Mannheim. I had gone through some records and noticed him working on the unfinished project called the "Apollo Project". Fetch him. We need to finish this before anything gets out of hand."

Eszterhazy bows, slightly and walks out of the room as the Prince scampers away.

The Imperial troops received the order. An armistice had been signed and they were to pull back 25 km from the Mississippi. Immediately pulling back, they begun constructing defenses.

Imperial America

The end of the conflict brought relief to many Imperials. The war had little effect on the general populace and the Empire saw little destruction of its own land, but it was good to see peace return, and the new acquisitions brought a sense of pride. However, the Nobility were split. There were many who wanted to continue the war and see an end to the SFEA totally, who disagreed with the Emperor's policy of fighting a defensive-offensive war.

Despite his popularity with the people, Alexander's behaviour was becoming increasingly erratic. He fought constantly with Parliament and spent vast funds on parties, gambling, and other please filled activities.

*After relations continued to deteriorate between Iraq and Persia, all out war finally broke out. Iraqi bombers began bombing cities in the Khuzestan Province, a province with Arabs as a majority. They claimed they were trying to protect the Arabs in the Province. However, many believed that it was just to increase Iraq's power in the world.*

Tehran, Imperial State of Persia, January 2086

The Shah was horrified when the reports came in. He had long known that relations with Iraq were deteriorating, but never would he believe that they would actually invade. At present, the Persian Army contained a little over half a million infantry and some 2,000 Armoured forces, as well as about 3,000 planes. He had no idea how large the Iraqi forces were, but he knew support would come. The Persian economy was still growing thanks to Imperial American and French investments. The Shah sent messages to each members of the Pact of Steel requesting assistance of any kind

The Persian Air Force immediately sent their planes to counter attack not only the enemy infantry and tanks, but the Iraqi air forces as well.

New Delhi, India

An aide rushed into the Marquis office.

"Your Lordship," he began, "Iraq has invaded Persia!"

Marlowe grabbed the telegram from Tehran. It was true.

"Send a detachment of the Imperial Air Corps, as well as the 20th Infantry and 220th Armoured."

Riyadh, Arabia

Marhsal khaled Nassar, the Duke of Riyadh, was horrified by the accounts. He ordered the Air Corps to make coordinated attacks with the Turks against the Iraqis, whilst also mobilising the Fifth Corps to the Iraqi border

Istanbul, Turkey

President Celik read the reports coming in. This was the last straw. He ordered the full power of the Turkish Air Force to bomb Iraq, some 1,000 Planes. Preparations were also made to mobilise the Army.

The Emperor was furious. Yes, his war with the East Americans had produced results, but now Iraq had moved in and invaded Persia. This could not do, and already his forces were invading Iraq.

Grand Vizier Tarkin walked in the Emperor's Office with the phone.

"Your Imperial Majesty, Her Highness Queen Felicia is on the phone." Alexander grabbed the phone.

"Hello, Your Royal Highness."

Darzi: "Should have known they'd get involved. Alright gentlemen, I want everyone underground and in the bunkers now! Sound the air raid siren and get the AA guns ready!"

Darzi: "Get me a line with the other independent Arab leaders. Perhaps the threat of expanding this war will allow us to reach an agreement."
*The Aide nodded and ran off as Darzi went to safety.*

*The Iraqi army was met with stiff resistance by the Persians. The Iraqi's had an advantage in numbers and in military capacity. They believed the Persians would be no problem. The rest of the Pact of Steel however would pose a large problem for the invaders.*

Arabian-Iraq Border

The 50th, 51st, 500th, and 510th Armies crossed the border into Iraq, 1,500 fighters preceding them. Guided missiles were launched from bases in the Sinai and targeted Baghdad, Mosul, and Arbil

Phoenician-Iraq Border

The 52nd, 53rd, 520th, and 530th made their advance into Iraq as well with approximately 2,000 fighters.

Turkish-Iraq Border

About 10,000 Turkish soldiers and 1,000 Tanks crossed the border, heading towards Mosul to meet up with the Imperial Army. The 1,000 plane Turkish Air Force made their way to hit Baghdad.

Khuzestan, Persia

The Persian Army did what they could to protect themselves from the Iraqis, using guerrilla tactics. Trenches were beginning to be built and defenses set up to stall to the Iraqi Army, waiting for the Imperials to arrive from Afghanistan
