The centuries had dragged on for long enough. The people of the F.I.R wanted change.
A tension was felt, trouble brewing, foreboding impending...The last chapter of the Emperor's Harem, the War Administration Region, the Free Interstellar Republic, was being written. A region war-torn and bloodied over millenia of battles, wars, diplomacy, trade, failing offsite forums and successful riots and revolutions, would finally face up to the last one......

The republican-dominating parliament in the heart of The Fifth Dominion had long been one-sided. Now, as rising forces, not altogether banded as one, but having a common goal - to seek and destroy the megapower.

Y. Aster had never before seen such a hostile Opposition in Parliament before. Every few moments a member would dispute the Republican view. The latest was from the Leader of Opposition, Mssr. Bourbon. The Monarchists/WhiteCollar Coalition was thrashing the ruling Republicans soundly.

"Monsieur D'Galais Bourbon:
Mr. Speaker, I say, this Republican Party is corrupt to the teeth. If we hadn't been part of the F.I.R or should I say, Stuffed Interstellar Republic, we would be better off. I say, Mr. Speaker, Governor Aster cannot handle taxes, the people's voice, the state, his life - It's his senility. Mr. Speaker, I hereby challenge Mr. Aster to an élection inattendue!!!

The House went quiet. This had never happened in 400 years.

The Governor smugly nodded. He stroked his 63-yr-old beard thoughtfully. Last month, his polls showed 58% as to Bourbon's 43%... He would win again. Easily.
Too easily.


Outside the Parliament House Estate, the protest of commoners was growing. Some retired veterans had even rung up relatives in Hoppity Jump to spread word of Monarchist Movement. ONF was, waking from its deep slumber of world peace...

The State of Falshi had crumpled. After major economical breakdowns and failures in industries, the Governor, alarmed for his own safety, rang the Prime Minister of the Region. Zizsas was rudely interrupted, however, when he heard machine gunfire on the line, just before the phone going dead.

President Donovan read the reports - the Pan-Alfalshian Nationalist Movement (PANM) under the leadership of a Itlar was sweeping across the Alfalshian Confederacy (Falshi, Alquells, Alvojne) pushing for Federation into one state, and Donovan suspected, independence. If the Republic did not do something, everything would fall apart.....

I fight for the Fal'shia and Adi Rajen in the Central. Supply the rebels with Weapons, Weapons that will do damage, not just simply tear gas or smoke grenades, Lethal weapons. Give them the following:

Arm them with AK-47, Grenade Launchers, Rocket Launchers, And Tracers. Most importantly though we will supply the rebels with 25000 ground troops, along with 45 of our top Fighter and Bomber Aircraft. We instruct a organized, but cautious attack. We instruct if you find the leader shoot to kill.

All was chaos:

The Election was held on the 14th October 2290.
Out of a total of 22 seats across the State, 14 seats were retained/gained by the Coalition Opposition and 8 by the Republican Party.

It looked like Governor Aster's long reign, centuries old, had overturned. Now over 410 years of age, with a 63yr old long beard, Aster stepped down, seething as he went.

It was not long before the Federal Military Garrison, quite a large one too, in Old North Fish, informally known as the "Basse du Tieu", or the BDT was raged upon. Oh no, this wasnt a brash surprise attack, it was planned, with each Immerhammy (aka Anti-Republican citizen) wielding the old Anti-Plasma Shields from millenia ago when ONF was a free nation, and also wielding a machine gun, taken from the ruins of Palace Providence.

THE LAUNCH OF THE ATTACK:
As they crept upon the Basse Tieu, no alarm sounded, for techies had previously disabled it an hour ago. General Bozzymongoo "Boss" gave the order, and the 1ST iMMERHAMMY force leapt upon the rear and front primary guards of the garrison. The forces were swift.
2nd - 20th went in, and then, after 10minutes of prolonged struggle, the Basse Tieu was taken. 21ST - 50th went in after that, taken the spoils of the battle. However, many were lost in this first confrontation, and 2 whole platoons had perished in the onslaught.

The White Collar Flag and the Royal Flag, mothbitten but still visible, was hung upon the parapets of the Garrison. It was time for war.

The Republic now faced an unprecedented crisis: its eastern territory was slipping away, and the northern lands in open rebellion. Dark times.....

[Conservative World]

Calls for a mass miltary attack on Eastern Front. Plasma Long Guns are the key to the ground attack. But in the air it was a different story, Plasma was not the answer. A invention of the 20th Century was still useful in 24th Century, Nuclear Weapons. 45 24th Century aircraft carryed out a aggressive attack on the Eastern Front. It is unclear what got damaged because of radiation.

The President decided that enough was enough. The 5th Army and well as a platoon of GUNGIRs were to immediately assault the new Bourbon Kingdom of Old North Fish, supported by the 2nd Fleet. That was almost a million boots on the ground, supported by a thousand ships.....

Bourbon snickered.
The Fifth Dominion was playing into his lovely trap...

As the signal had been transmitted, the gargantuan 1st Fishian Fleet (520), 2nd Fishian Fleet (200) and 3rd Fishian Fleet (180) having been kept in pristine condition for military training, was now being hauled out of the hangars. They needed to get south ASAP, to be able to camouflage and blend into the environment. Accompanying the fleet was the ground troop, Contingents 1-3 plus Special Bourbonite Revolutionary Anti-Air Missiles, Lasers and Artillery of the sort.


That was the first wave dusted, almost.

The second wave would involve the rapid expansion of aerial warfare as heavily plated and armoured helicopters, built to withstand plasma rays for up to 48 hours of constant exposure, lowered from the stratosphere into the atmosphere, and this would assist combat with the fleets.
After this, the Contingents 4-8 plus Special Bourbonite Revolutionary Anti-Air Missiles and Mortars would push forward.

And so the Battle Plan A, was put into ACTION.

The 5th Army was just 3 hours from the border with ONF, on the huge Plains of Ithar, and in the distance they could see the huge treeline of Southern ONF. more concerning, though, was the large fleet visible over the treeline. General Laksa of the 5th Army hurriedly ordered a halt to the advance and radioed the Admiral of the 2nd Fleet - an Admiral Chuikov. "Look, Admiral, I am not willing to advance my forces any further until that Fleet is removed!" he shouted over the radio. Admiral Chuikov replied - "General, we do not know for sure how many ships they possess, nor the capabilities of those ships. Engaging that Fleet could potentially cut off your air support." The General cursed - understanding the situation. Then the Admiral spoke - "I will send out 2 sloops to scout out their Fleet, meanwhile continue the advance to the starting line for Operation: PATHOS....."

The Fifth Dominion was clever. Of course, Bourbon knew which side had the added advantage of experience, but he himself had seen footage of the Outlandish Heresy, The Eastern Revolution and the Calamity Wars, as his father, grandfather and great-grandfather had all served in the Army.

The two scouts sent out from the Fifth Dominion went up river along the southernmost treeline, but Bourbon ordered the Anti-Air to stay put, after all, they were hidden and needed to be kept hidden at present. He also commanded the Generals of each contingent to do a quick headcount and doublecheck camouflaging shields and suits.

The two sloops, the Samuelle and the Tion G. were both 50 man, medium craft designed for scouting and hit-and-run operations. The pilots, being complacent, failed to notice the Rebel Army waiting to ambush the 5th Army in the forest. They then soared into the sky to take a closer look at the enemy fleet, keeping a minimum distance of 700 metres and using their speed to make aiming difficult for the enemy.....

Air Corporal Rancid Trille from Fleet One radioed Officer Black down below.

"Officer, inform His Majesty that two MEDIUM-SIZED scout ships are heading our way."

He then proceeded to activate all surround-blend shields which lasted for 2 hours with a 6hr cooling time.
He also asked Corporals of the other fleets to do likewise.

Unfortunately, Fleet 2's SB shields failed to work, so from the ground and the air, it looked like there was just one fleet there, as the others had taken on the colour of the sky...

The two sloops flew back towards the main fleet, having scanned and confirmed 200 ships in the area. As they sped off, the pilot of the Samuelle thought he show a faint shimmering in the sky, almost like a cloaked ship. Then he shook his head and ignored it, blaming it on the sleepless nights he had to endure during the sudden call to duty.....

2 hours later....

The Fifth Army was now 45 minutes from the border. General Laksa ordered each Divison to form up for the assault....

Aun'va Li'Sun'Yi emerged from the shadows, protected by her ethereal guards, sworn to protect her until their dying breaths. She walked up to the control panel and a slight smile appeared as she lifted up the hatch. The map on the screen by her left showed the targets of the last weapons that Fal'shia, the old Fal'shia truly owned. For the good of this world. She pressed the button and above her, hatches open as 17 Plasma-Nuclear Missiles shot into the air...

The populace, armed with pitchforks, tear gas bombs and AK-47s, marched right past the frontier post, the Alvojnean security seemed to be quite slack indeed...

The Fifth Dominion was advancing. The ground troops organised themselves.
It was just about 2 lines then a line of medics, and another, etc.

Wedged in the frontline and the second line were the Anti-Air Forces. They had to wait for the signal to shoot down any aerial object.
Still hidden in the undergrowth, the estimated time of arrival of the troops was 1 hour and 6 minutes.
Time to activate en masse cameo shields and step out into the open.
Having done so, they advanced too, slowly and a line at a time...

Having formed his Divisions into a line, the General then waited for the bombardment which would clear the forest and allow the 5th Army to advance. The 2nd Fleet opened fire at the forest, bombarding it until there was not a single tree left, and the 5th Army began its advance....

Having escaped narrowly the southern part of the forest's bombardment, the troops began to open fire at the frontlines of the Fifth Dominion, but not before Fleet 1's cooldown finished and, with the cameo re-applied, soared into the air and flew behind the Dominion Fleets, at present, still unseen.

After losing many troops to an invisible foe, the Divisions scattered and dove for cover, though, with around 500,000 infantry on the field, spreading out and finding cover was difficult. The tanks detached themselves from the infantry and roamed the plains, searching for the cloaked enemy troops, running a couple over with sheer luck. The infantry activated their heat vision in their helmets but found that the previous bombardment by the Fleet had left the area with a lot of heat - making it impossible to detect enemy troops. Some troopers started shooting randomly, but could not tell if they had hit anything.

The artillery forces of the Rebel Fishians came rolling out, splitting into three main divisions two on either side, sandwiching the scattered Fifth Dominion federal militia, and one in the centre, steamrolling lone troops flat.

Meanwhile, the fleets above made use of their remaining 40minutes of camouflage and began to fire at the large federal air force, which was foreboding to say the least...

On ground, many of the Rebel tanks had made a couple of mistakes and killed quite a number of non-enemy troops, but the majority of casualties had been sustained.....

General Laksa sighed with relief once the members of the 4th Light Foot of the I Corps finally completed the situation map. Then he frowned. Why, it was as if a child had drawn it! Then he put aside his contempt and examined the map. The 5th Army was set up across south-east border of Scalaw. The General then noted the large blue dots on the map. He looked at the note scribbled on the map - each dot was a Regiment of Artillery - 35 guns each. The General then sat and planned the next move.

Chief Marshal General Tyson Blacke squinted at the Fifth Dominion troops, scattered to and fro.. the Fifth Dominion Artillery had been set-up in the Eastern side of the front, so he radioed his 1st and 2nd Fleets up above to open fire at them. Meanwhile, Anti-Air were walloping the Air Force but the ground troops were having some trouble keeping back the swarm. He'd have to bring in his special operations command from the rear end. Splitting the main bulk of the troops in front, the rear Special Ops would come in through the centre and drill into the centre Federal forces coming at them.
