The League of Imperial Nations
Peace Through Imperial Firepower

    The League is a Brotherhood of Nations who seek to impose Order over the Chaos that is the world current. In the state of the worlds vast we are witnessing most profound social change. Whether in the East or the South, the West or the North, hundreds of billions of people, new nations and states, new public movements and ideologies have moved to the forefront of history. Broad-based and frequently turbulent popular movements have given expression, in a multidimensional and contradictory way, to a longing for independence, democracy and social justice. The idea of democratizing the entire world order has become a powerful sociopolitical force.

    At the same time, the scientific and technological revolution of the past century has both created and eliminated many problems in the areas of economics, agriculture, energy, environmentalism, the dissemination of information and the growth of the body politic. These issues, previously restricted to the realm of individual domestic debate, have morphed into matters which have the power to influence the entire globe due to the advent of mass media and numerous innovations in the area of transportation. Now, more than any period in the past history of the world, the emergence of a global community of interconnected citizens is fast approaching reality.

    Yet in this new era of enlightenment and progress, the evils of the past haunt us still. War - famine - pestilence - genocide; all signs that mankind is not yet ready to embrace her destiny. To prepare the world for its eventual transcendence, the League of Imperial Nations is formed to establish a new world order in the hope that one day, mankind may live in peace with his fellow man.

            The Advisory Council

            Preamble:

            The Advisory Council [TAC] is owned and operated by the councilors and will only be
            as great as the leaders' participation and perseverance. TAC is a coalition of nation leaders
            which exists to ensure justice for each of its participant nations. We do this by the following means:

              1. Formulate, amend, and enforce the TAC conventions and operations which serves as
              the guidelines for conflict between Nations.
              2. Confirm that all members comply with the TAC conventions and operations.

            I. Council Officers
            A. First Chair - Executive Councilor
              1. The First Chair (FC) is not the ruler of the council, but a steward of the council.
              2. The duties of the FC include (but are not limited to):
              a. Presiding over monthly meetings (IRC get together's etc)
              b. Handling forum affairs with other entities (Community Leader staff, etc.)
              c. Monitoring the use and correcting the abuse of the council TG list
              d. Enforcing penalties, bans, etc
              e. Handling all new Nation applications, adding input to acceptance or denial with reasoning behind either.
              f. The FC's office verifies the accuracy of the application.
              g. And notates this in their acceptance or denial notification.
              3. Appointing and training assistants.

            B. Second Chair - Assistant to the First Council
              1. The duties of the SC include (but are not limited to):
              a. Aiding the FC with forum duties (as the FC sees fit)
              b. Keeping and updating the rules (this duty may be delegated to the Judge Advocate, but final responsibility lies with the SC)
              2. Calling for issues to be discussed and voted upon in conjunction with the FC
              3. Reporting the status of wars and war-related issues.
              4. Initial go-between for League Member Nations and the Council
              5. Placing Protectorates in the care of Mentor Nations.
              a. Trade, Diplomacy, and Military Setup Assistance.
              b. Reviewing and Checking up on Mentor Nations and their Protectorates
              6. If the FC is inaccessible, the SC may act on the FC's behalf to include all of the
              above listed duties.

            D. Judge Advocate - Head of the Judiciary Committee and Rules Enforcement
              1. The duties of the JA office include (but are not limited to):
              a. Assigning prosecutors to investigate cases,
              b. Presiding over Judge selection and other JC functions
              c. Reporting case findings to the FC/SC.
              2. The duties of the office include (but are not limited to):
              a. Keeping and updating the rules.
              b. Making sure that members are adhering to said rules of the charter.

            B. Code of Conduct
              1. Councilors are allowed to express their opinions, so long as they are expressed in
              a mature and respectful manner. Councilors do not have to like one another but
              they are to respect each other.
              2. References to "muns" or mundane issues need to be kept to a minimum wherever
              and whenever possible (I.e., Respect the illusion).

            C. Conduct Violations
              1. The council will not tolerate the following:
              a. Cheating (violating rules dishonestly or the practicing of fraud / trickery.)
              b. Grossly verbal profane / derogatory behavior towards other councilors or their
              members (Derogatory: having the effect of belittling. Profane: Manifesting
              disrespect/vulgarity).
              c. Mild expletives and non-sexual anatomical references are allowed but strong
              vulgar language, crude or explicit sexual references, hate speech, etc, are not.
              d. Airing petty arguments / one liners.

              2. Corrective actions are taken when improper behavior becomes apparent in Official
              TAC meetings, functions, and mailing lists.

            D. Corrective Actions
              Notification of corrective action is sent to the violator, FC, SC, CA(s), and JA:
              1. First action - Warning (Lasts for 3 months from the date it was given)
              2. Second action - Censure
              a) Censure lasts one month (30 days) from the date issued.
              b) If the member is a councilor nation, the nation is denied voting
              and mailing list privileges. Councilors may not have another councilor vote in their
              stead.
              c) If the member is not a councilor, the nation is denied mailing list privileges and
              cannot participate in war or other aspects that may have otherwise involved them.
              3. Third action - Nation's actions are put to council vote, majority vote removes that
              Nation for 3 months (90 days).
              4. Fourth action - Once a nation has had it's councilor removed in this manner,
              it is removed and considered banned.

            A. TAC Mailing List
              1. The mailing list is used for official business by it's councilors and council officers
              ONLY.
              a. Small OOC references or notes clarifying time, examples to explain motions,
              or informing council of a leave of absence are allowed. A full mail of nothing but
              OOC speech is not.
              b. Councilors on the mailing list are expected to receive mail from every councilor
              listed on the mailing list.
            2. Mailing List Protocols
              a. All mail should indicate within the subject header exactly what official
              correspondence the mail pertains to. This is done so that the mail's content is
              easily identifiable to all
              b. All mail should be CC'd

            A. Motions
              1. Councilors may present 3 motions a month. Motions may be made by mail or
              council meeting. After a motion is made, it must be seconded to be considered.
              2. All new motions must be submitted by individual missive.
              3. If a motion is failed by the council, it may not be presented again for 3 months.
              4. Motions cannot be made to strike other motions until the initial motion has gone thru
              its due process (I.e., voting, tallies disclosed, and addition to the rules).
              5. Motions voted into the rules do not affect wars or war talks in progress before the
              motion's passing.
              6. Motions are routed as follows:
              a. Motions that involve changes/additions to the rules go to the RC for discussion.
              b. Motions that involve calls of NC/Censure or like accusations against a councilor nation, are sent to the FC and SC.
              c. Any other motions not covered in the above two proposals are routed as follows:
              A motion is made, seconded, then the FC puts the motion up for debate/vote.

            B. Voting via mail/TG
              1. Councilors have 4 day discussion and 3 days to vote and return their ballot to the
              FC, SC, and CA offices.
              2. Votes are considered invalid if returned beyond the time allotted.
              3. Any guilds not voting are counted as abstain votes.
              4. The number of AYE votes must be greater than the NAY votes for a motion to pass.

            C. Voting via council meeting
              1. For major items, the FC mails the issue to be voted on before the meeting and calls
              for the vote during the meeting.
              2. For minor items brought up during council meetings, a vote shall be conducted
              during the meeting without prior notification.
              3. Procedure: The SC calls each guild by name and the councilor simply responds
              "Aye" or "Nay." The SC then tallies the votes and announces the results.

Honoured sirs,

In the interest of continued cooperation between our two nations, the Imperial Government has decided to dispatch a request of joining your Imperial Military Alliance, in order that we can both stand stronger still within the wider world.

The Imperial Government of Tagmatium would to ask that the Greater Holy Empire joins within more of trading role, allowing other members of the alliance access to the economic market of Tagmatium, rather than as a full military member.

As such, the Imperial Government would be willing to come to the aid of the other members of the alliance, as well as take part in military exercises and war games, but Tagmatium also expects some degree of autonomy within its affairs – we expect to be allowed to pursue our own interests independently of the rest of the IMA, so long as these interests do not conflict with that of the IMA.

These requests may well be outside the bounds of the IMA for it to accept, in which case the Imperial Government may well be convinced to alter some of them, although there are some points that Tagmatium will not budge upon.

The role of trade is an established need and has yet to be fully addressed beyond a few of the members. A purely trade related nation within the Alliance will bolster not only the primary nation's economy, but also others of this alliance.

Therefore in the interest of those who are members and those who may follow, your application to be amongst the IMA is accepted as are the terms. It is noted that such is mandatory within the IMA unless a nation opts for that of the Protectorate status, in which case the the Alliance plays a more active role of beauracy.

The role of your nation in wargames, training exercises and so forth is also a good idea. It will will enable The Greater Holy Empire of Tagmatium to reflect on new ideas, and to put forth it's own in order to build the strength of the Alliance on the whole.

In accordance with the types of nations that have joined our alliance, the IMA has undergone a name change, to that of the, The League of Imperial Nations. This reflects the majority of nations that are apart of our alliance, as they are some form of imperialism or another.

We are interested in other nations seeking to become apart of us and will be instituting several other ideas into the whole of the charter and the group as well.

In accordance with the military forces of Ser Di Haruk, we are willing to offer and host a series of wargames between our allies to better prepare us for any actual hostilities. We were thinking of calling it the League Military Training Event or LMTE.

Perhaps twice a year, this event could take place to familiarize the militaries of the League with one another, so that if there is a crisis, we can work seamlessly together to handle whatever said crisis may be.

Trade as it entails, allows you a discounted rate of logistics in moving product between allied nations, and possibly discounts on said products between yourself and whomever you are dealing with. This is up to each nation on arrangements.

Military Member [ ]
Being a military member nation is to take up the responsibility of both defending the all league member nations, as well as yourself, but also to represent the league with honour and distinction.

Military member nations recieve discounts(via select corporations, ask please) to military hardware, advanced training, and share in joint military establishments in key areas to the trade routes for it's protection as well as offensive staging points should member nations have hostile actions taken against them.

Protectorate Member [ ]
Protectorate nations are often those who are either a developing nation, or that which is rebuilding after some form of strife. Protectorates are mentored by larger nations, supplied with trade and armaments and protected until such time as they can stand on their own two feet, and waive the status to become full members of the alliance at a time of their choosing.

Protectorates often have their sponsor nations military in bases upon their own soil, furthering the training and equipping of their native armies. A perk to being a protectorate is that they are by status automatically both Trade and Military member nations

To all League nations, with the arrival of the commonwealth's OAS Inc upon the international scene, we've decided to discount League nations up to twenty percent on products purchased from us.

Seeing as we are all allied for one purpose or another, be it militarily or for the purpose of trade, we should infact benefit from such an arrangement.

Wargames between Ser Di Haruk and Renor Xukuth happened today.
After a grueling start between both nations, I am told that Ser Di Haruk pulled ahead to win in the urban conflict to come out ahead. Both sides experienced armor casualties, light vehicle losses, and were reduced to occassional air support, and heavy infantry engagements.
