Lord Everard Leitner listened carefully, observing the events unfolding as Ms. Thekenbail and Prime Minister Marino both reveal the stances of their nations on the Aryan Brotherhood. Understanding fully the developments of such events in the summit, he rose to speak.
"Divitaen would like to thank her diplomatic colleagues from Isointania for this opportunity to attend the summit and speak on such pressing matters in geo-politics. On the Aryan Brotherhood, it is clear that such policies of calling on all neighboring West Pacific countries to expel and massacre non-White citizens is abhorrent in all facets. Being a strong meritocratic society, the government of Divitaen simply cannot condone any race-based policy, let alone massacres and unwarranted killings.
However, Divitaen agrees with Isointania that the matter is not whether the policies of this Aryan Brotherhood are acceptable, but rather how the international community ought to react to such an outrageous ultimatum as they signed into law against all other nations in their region, including their non-White citizens. Here, Divitaen looks to her own Six-Point Diplomacy Convention that we signed into law, that governs all our diplomatic expedition. The most important point of concern for Divitaen is sovereignty of nations, as Divitaen strongly rejects military intervention against the Aryan Brotherhood. Although they have infringed upon the sovereignty of their neighbors, this is an internal matter of the West Pacific. Seeing as how unpopular their policies are in the region, by maintaining a non-interference military policy to the region, the nations of the West Pacific will naturally be able to band together and expel the Brotherhood armies from their respective sovereign nations. Thus, we cannot destabilize the situation by sending in our own armies to target concentration camps, as this will stir up the hatred of the Aryan Brotherhood against the international community, and will strike again, failing as a long-term solution. Therefore, Divitaen is heartened that Isoitanian leaders have taken the liberty of signing a NANA alliance to promote diplomacy over military aggression. Military intervention will impede the internal sovereignty of the West Pacific and the Aryan Brotherhood, and this cannot be allowed to happen.
However, Divitaen has also expressed in its six-point convention that we are opposed to economic sanctions as well. We believe that not only does this contravene on the rights of domestic business to carry out commerce will other corporations, allowing the 'invisible hand' of the free market to take form, but more importantly, the Aryan Brotherhood will feel coerced by strong economic sanctions and become unwilling to negotiate. Furthermore, sanctions on the basis of domestic policy sets a negative precedence for future coercion based on political ideology. We may not like what the Aryan Brotherhood is doing, but sanctions will cause its citizens to hate us even more, and they will not cooperate during negotiations.
What then is left, if not sanctions or military intervention? We must rely on diplomacy and good will with the Aryan Brotherhood. We must continue to show our strong support for other West Pacific nations who are suffering as a result of such an incursion. In this way, we can apply diplomatic pressure on an extremist state that is destined to lose a war when they have declared it on practically every other nation in the West Pacific. It may be ineffective, but compared to the other solutions, it is more practical in the long-term as it will not destabilize the region, or mess with internal affairs, but furthermore, we take the option that allows real change to occur amongst such policies reminiscent of the horrors of apartheid. With this speech, Divitaen would like to make our stance on the issue clear."
With that, Lord Leitner sat down to see how the other nations would respond.
